Thanks Doug!

After the sunroom addition TheQ had me paint the room a light sage green. That and the medium brown carpet just made the room look like a dirty cave. We decided to change the wall color to yellow as part of this project and I have to say it REALLY changed the look of the room! It is so much more inviting now.

Brent........my wife was reading over my shoulder and looking at (with admiration) your picture of your new favorite (sun)room, getting some sinister ideas about her own honey do list.  Suddenly she became horrified to learn that SuzieQ caved in and gave you space for one train artifact by the fireplace.  This has my wife worried there is a weak spot in Susan's armor and that I might get similar ideas.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Jack

Jack - The current project room is the Family Room. Smile Susan encourages my train hobby (at least when it doesn't lead to mountains of debt), and has been known to make a purchase or two when SHE likes my request. The steam engine steamer was actually HER idea... it would be neater if there would be actual steam that came out of the stack, but that would mean the water inside was hotter than I really would want it to get...

Brent and Jack:  I like my wife's various ideas for locomotives..being as how she was out west for a number of years before we met she kept on talking about getting the GMD1's with the A1A wheel sets...now we are finally getting them..as Rapido are in the process of working on them ...WhistlingMischief

Fife,

Don't feel bad, I got into it and watch every Thursday.  I liked the basketball segment a few weeks back.Laugh

Brent,

Jack,

According to the Carfax report, the original owner kept up on the routine maintenance judging by the entries from the West Mifflin, PA dealer where he originally purchased the car.  I am the second owner, but I can't say what happened to it between owners.  Except for one burnout (had to get it out of my systemSmile, Wink & Grin ), I baby it.  Hasn't seen salt and only got caught in the rain once since I've had it.

I was hoping that the 264 Forklift would get here today, but nothing yet.  I spent some time on the Probe GL trying to figure the fuel gauge out, but nothing there yet either.  It is running much better though.Thumbs Up  I refuse to give up on it and am hoping to have it back on the road by the end of the month.

Tired.  Cooked chickens on the grill for Pam's friend Gail and her Mom to eat dinner with us.  Also Pam's Mom and Dad came to eat.  Gooood.

Sleep tight.

Evening all!

Apologies for being awol but work load and home activities have been the order of the day so little energy left over to check the forum.

It looks like the work load and other stuff will continue to rule for the next couple of months (including all the activities leading up to my son's HS graduation end of May/beginning of June).

Looking forward to York next month and a break.

Hope all are well!

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Mornin' Fellas

Well by the time I got home from work yesterday I did not feel like doing any tile work... tonight is trash night so I really want to get the debris cleaned up off the garage floor and get the two tiles cut so the mess can go out with the trash! Have a haircut appointment tonight to get the shag carpet removed from my head! My hair hasn't been this long since HS!

Family coming into town this weekend for my birthday to see Christina so I really need to get the tile installed tonight so I can grout tomorrow night and install the last piece of threshold. Probably do the touchup paint Thursday night.

I really need a day off from work (both work and working at home)... York CAN NOT come soon enough!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....

It is a cloudy 53 degrees. Going up to 65 today with a slight chance of rain.

Today is a busy day. I have a few chores to do and then I have to work on some paperwork. I'll be busy for a few hours. Lunch and then the afternoon nap. I think there is a ballgame today from AZ.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Good morning form PA Dutch Country,

Warm and rainy here this morning, to clear later.  To be in the high 60s & 70s all week with lots of Sun, can't beat that for early March in PA.

SJ, My condolences to you and family.

Jeffrey, That photo looks like an actual RR shot, nice.

Laz, Will you be planning a Friday Morning Breakfast when it gets closer to York time?

Thanks John.

Good morning. It's 67° with patchy fog. The high will be 82° and partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Not much happening today. Have to do laundry this morning. I may be able to get some layout work in later.

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy and 60 already in the Mid-Atlantic region.  'Twas a bad night for chickens, as that's what we served in Fifedom as well.  Lots of doctor visits (scheduled) for Fifelings today.  Got the green light for YORK from work, so I shall be there on Friday.

Aloha. A beautiful, sunny 50 degrees. Might get up to 70. and I get to ride the L to Lincoln Park today. All good. Daughter and boyfriend come home tonight for spring break - I can sense the 'disturbance in the Force' already. I tried retrofitting a little wooden barn that would make a perfect single-engine stall for Percy last night. I think I may have to do major surgery on it to make it work and as it belongs to my son, that will probably not happen. I am glad to have caught the Tardis last night!

Sunny 45 and going up to 70 again today.

Cheerios in the bowel and away we go. Not much going on but I am fine with that.

Missed the hint on chicken last night and did fish, but chicken is on for tonight.

May clean up around the house some to get ready for the March birthday extravaganza on Sunday. We have four birthdays in March so going to do them all at once. They are 8,24,51.and 78 or something like that. House will be full.

Blownout nice AMC there.

Fifedog you had to go and post those pictures. Ouch.

Roy, Glad you stopped in.

Prayers to all in need,

Later,

Kev.

Konbanwa,

The weather was very pleasant today: mid-50s and sunny.  Yesterday it was nice as well but a little bit cool.  It was still nice enough to bring the older son to the baseball field for some practice.  He did well and hasn’t lost much skill over the past few months.  He does still need some work on picking up fly balls of the bat.  He has no problems picking up the ball when I throw fly balls to him but he can’t seem to pick up the ball when it leaves the bat.  We had a nice dinner at home and then relaxed.  I just finished some schoolwork and will be off to bed momentarily.

Doug M. – Were those Hornby cars I saw on your track?

Dennis – Thanks.

Jack – I’m making sure I can outrun the wife should I ever need to. Surprise Actually, my wife is much more competitive than I am and she is not worried about the boy coming home bruised or banged up.  She was quite the softball player in her day and she throws the ball harder at him than I do.  She is not one of those mothers and she knows healthy competition will help him grow and mature.  She also knows taking a ball to the head is what I call “feedback.”  Black Eye Laugh

Sayonara,

Joe

Good Mornin' Y'all From Rainy But Unseasonably Warm Taxachusetts,

I'll take it!!!!

Spent 4 hours again yesterday with after school tutoring the "improving" 8 year old granddaughter.  Vocabulary, spelling, and definitions.  Phonics.  Sentences.  Punctuation.  Nouns, pronouns, and proper nouns.  Adjectives and adverbs.  Tenses.  Multiplication, division, and times tables.  And some reading and reading comprehension for good measure.  No matter how hard I press, she's still sucking it up like a sponge and isn't complaining a bit.  I try to make sure we have fun throughout.  I hope she accepts over time that the only limit to her progress is herself.  Self esteem and independence, marching to her own drummer, beating her modest expectations.  Think I will ask the daughter and SIL if I can go with them to the next parents/teacher conference.  I need to make sure we are all on the same page.  I'm psyched! Thumbs Up

SJ........again, condolences about the loss in your family. Angel  I hope each of us, when dealing with these things, can celebrate the life and all of the good that accompanied it.

Chief........what were the results from the surveillance tapes?  Is an arrest imminent?  Pirate

Roy........glad to hear you keep feeding SS for the Chief.  We wouldn't want to see him run out of $ and have to eat less.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Spanky........good to hear from you!!!

Brent.........better get the hair colored too to hide that "parental" grey that should be creeping in.  You don't want family to see you in your current condition.  Whistling

DougM..........the joys having a daughter with boyfriends.  You need to get a rifle from the Chief and mount it prominently over the fireplace.  Wear a sidearm when he comes to visit or to pick her up.  Casually mention to him some made-up story about  your upcoming parole hearing.  Fife can guide you.  Whistling.

Fife........at one time my hair looked more like Horshack than Gordon Gekko. Whistling

Blownout.........week day neighbor's parties that need to be broken up "with encouragement" at 4AM?  I am surprised someone didn't blow a gasket by 1AM and call the police.  Neighbor must be well liked.  Re the 1949 Merc pic sitting out in front of the Barris shop......that is what my grandparents' next door neighbor had.  The sound when he fired it up and drove it is still music to my ears.  But somehow I recall the grill being busier than the one in your posted photo.  Good stuff!!!!!!!! Thumbs Up

LAZ.......will you be weraing two wrist watches to York?  One for the time of day and the other a "countdown to retirement" watch.  I think da Yorkie boys should all be buying you frosties at York to celebrate. BeerThumbs Up

Jeff.........one of the advantages of living up here in snow/tundra country versus where you live is that Mother Nature somewhat thins out the reptile, insect, and varmint population annually. Thumbs Up

JimmyT........I wouldn't worry a lick about the color of the tranny fluid and would have anticipated a "severe usage" fluid change at the mileage you changed it.  You didn't buy a Corolla.  My 1969 Corvette, which I purchased in 1973, already had a slight telltale exhaust color that "this horse had been ridden hard", that an eventual and premature engine overhaul was in my future.  Who cares?  You got what you wanted and what you enjoy, and the condition and cosmetics of your Mustang would leave me feeling really good about my choice.

JoeyD........one of the good things about having more than one child is that the parents get wisely desensitized over time and let the little ones trip and fall once in a while. Thumbs Up  If only I kew then what I know now...........Bang Head

Later,  gang!!!!!!!

Jack

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.

Morning all.  Partly cloudy and warm.  Small showers off and on.  Sunny right now though.  Goofing off today.  Probably lake house tomorrow and Thursday until afternoon.  Suppose to be in the 80's for a few days.  Fishing time.

Jack, got two sets of "guys" at the pond from game camera.  Not who we figured it was this time.  All the "others" are in jail except one who out ran Raleigh PD Officers the other night.  Will meet with some parents about the photos.

Brent, you will fine that the folks will make all grades of excuses to come see you all but really the main reason is one person.  Wink

Chat later.

Lunch Time,

Rain ended and it is getting nice out.

3 1/2 hours to go. Planning on relaxing tonight and running the trains. I have to try out the 2056 Hudson that I bought last week.

Blowncyl., that 56 Chevy brings back some good memories. I can not wait to start restorodding my 56 Nomad.

I will try not to be late for the Tardis! I will bring the banilla!!!

Tell me about it! We already have a nightmarish number of mosquitoes down here. Want some? The June bug population is off the charts. Last night there were a bunch flying around my nephews porch light (if you can call launch and slam into the side of the house flying, kinda reminds me of Delta Airlines in the 80's.) and the door was covered solid with them. I got a couple of them in my hair and they happily started to burrow in. I went back to my place and combed them out then tossed them outside.
