Good morning.  Sunny and warm.  Got lunch meeting and then all the water merger partners meet with the new Raleigh Mayor this afternoon.

"Miss Edna" called and said my MTH NS diesel came in [been ordered over a year now]. Big Smile

Picked up new Stihl leaf blower.  Changed models since I bought in Nov.  This is locked up with all the other power equipment.

Good to see John posting.  If he has been that busy at work, my SS check will be here right on time Friday. Whistling  Buckeye let me down and laid out a day. Thumbs Down

Frankie is giving me a Ruger .40 cal. semi auto rifle.  The regular Wake Co. Deputies carried them in their cars for sevearl years.  Then taken up and stored.  He got to buy two at a cheap price.  I thought I was going to reimburse him.  He says no.  Nice the role has changed.  This will make a short range personal defence weapon.

Hope all have a great day.  God bless. [don't fly to NC today, Mr. O is coming to Charlotte]

Good morning. It's 63° and cloudy. The high will be 78° and it'll be mostly cloudy.

Feeling better this morning. I'll try to get the layout cleaned up today. Got busy with other things yesterday and pushed myself a bit too far. I have a bad habit of doing that.

Aloha! Got the fedora blown off my head today with all the windiness in the Loop. Nice chat with Jack yesterday.  Prayers for Brutus' recovery and Kev's daughter. Great news Rich. Congrats on the FT position. A decade ago, I bought our minivan from your employer's fleet and it was in great shape. Bride home from her retreat and the house was in good shape so good news there.  Brent, boy, she is growing fast!

Good Tuesday Evening....

Fifer - Since YOU asked.....

I sent an e-mail to my lovely HR girl.  I expressed the interest in getting my company e-mail account back and an inquiry in any full time positions.  Welp, when I get my 90 day review, looks like I'm going FULL TIME IN APRIL!!!!  My reputation from Group 43 in FLA and the work I'm doing now (with great reviews from my boss and the Area Manager),  They just need to do their due diligence for the 90 day probation and review.  Only thing that remains to be seen is more money and when I get all my bennies...I still retain almost 7 years of service with the little e....which also means I get my vacation time back as well.   SO ... GOOD NEWS FOR ME!

And on the bad side:  We lost a long time fire dept. member to cancer.  He was in the FD 49 years....services tomorrow night with full dress uniforms.

Princess is having her issues and she's making noise about going back to FLA to college there in a 3 girls 1 guy living arraignment.  I told her that was not acceptable and that I will cut her off from my financial aid if she goes.....and we'll see what happens next.

Picked up a 2025 shell for $5 and I'll be trying to strip it and repaint/renumber it.  Then I'll figure out what to put under it.  I'm thinking LED lights and maybe some TMCC or Soundboard.

BTW - there is a Greenburg show in Delaware and I'm wondering if any of youse guys would like to meet up...just askin....

Was in the 20's this AM, up to 45 and tomorrow in the 60's.  Harley time tomorrow?

Angel for our ailing members and their "significant others"

Jack - as far as NASCAR, I'd love to see it where it was production 2 doors and production engines.  This spec car is crap....make it fair?  Why?  Take your best body/engine combo and take your shot....just like the old days.  Why were the MoPars Dominate?  Cuz they were!! And Ford was right there...the GM boys cried foul and that's why we have spec cars  and not NASCAR.

I was gonna unload on you MikeC......Princess Sparkle ?  She car drive the wheels off anything as far as I'm concerned.  I'm good with her in NASCAR....we need more good looking broads in racing anyway, as far as I'm concerned...Smile, Wink & GrinLaugh...Have you seen Leah Pruett-LeDuc in Funny Car?

Momma Mia!!

That's all for now from Exit 8......

And she does! That's why she never finishes a race!

Good Mornin' Y'all From Beautiful Eastern Essex County Taxachusetts,

WOW!!!!  It's a crystal clear, glorious morning and 50 already.  SJ is right, Mother Nature is stirring North of the MD line.  HudsonJohn, Pat, and Brent have come out of hibernation. Rich has nailed it down.  We are on a roll!!!! Thumbs Up

In defiance of the cold 30 degree temperature last night, I fired up the gas grill and threw on a couple of one pound porterhouse steaks, Maximus the dog supervising and keeping track of time. Dinner Big Smile

Thanks Brutus for the compliment.  I realize get carried away with my posts.  It is important to me to be inclusive on the POT, but I need to scale way back.  I hope this morning finds Char and you feeling better.Angel

DougM......nice chat yesterday!!!!  We need to collaborate on a book on child torture rearing.  Half the readers would think the content was tongue-in-cheek while the other half would be shaking their head in strong agreement.  A NY Times best seller either way.  How are you planning to spend your share of the millions in proceeds? Whistling

Brent......it seems like only yesterday you and Susan began this journey with a whole bunch of obstacles.  But you were like the Marines, you never quit, you adapted and overcame.  Cake Happy 7 month birthday to Christina!!! Thumbs Up

Rich........re the Princess, I respect and support what you are trying to do.  Parents have to step up and at times deliver/reiterate the message, one that might be very unwelcome today.  You will be very glad you did someday, when the child comes back and thanks you for sticking to your guns and providing the guidance and at times the tough love.  Angel for you in this endeavor.  And you have my prayers for your loss of your fellow FD member.

JEFF.........shhhhhhh!!!!  You are letting the cat out of the bag.  The purpose of this plan is to have David mow your parents' lawn while you sit back with a Beer and supervise. Smile, Wink & Grin

Darren......I am somewhat surpised that your annual and monthy average Colorado snowfalls, even the records, are that small. Surprise

Blownout........how did you pick up 6 more feet allowing for a layout expansion?  Cave-in of a basement wall? Laugh

Chuck........you better stock up on the goodies for the grandkids upcoming visit, but make sure they are goodies you like.  Considering the 100th anniversary of the Oreo cookie and my addiction preference for them, that might be tops on my list. Stick out tongue

SJ........glad to hear Granny is feeling better today.  Someone has to keep an eye on you.  Wink

KEV........thanks for the pics of the Marseilles IL train station.  I found the multiple use interesting as well.  Here in my home town the train station formerly served as a railroad station house, was built in 1897 by the Boston and Maine Railroad, and has been converted into dual service as our main commuter rail station and the Beverly Depot Restaurant. Angel your trip to Maywood today with your daughter brings nothing but good news.  You're a good dad. Thumbs Up

Pat........I was wondering what it would take to draw you out of hiding!!!  NASCAR and DP support comments.  Rich is pretty clever like that.  Ya gotta admit DP looks pretty good driving the wheels off those cars. Laugh

Gotta run.  Later gang.

Jack - LOL; See, Denver and the Colorado front range are officially semi-aired and we only get pounded with what is called Up-slope storms where they push up against the Mountains and can't get over and thus just dump their loads on us.  We are also the western edge of Tornado Ally so we sometimes get into that fun but not very often.  Our Ski towns do enjoy when it snows in Denver during Monday Night Football but when it's snowing in town it's likely clear in the Mountains...

Good morning all,

Jack, thanks for taking the time to explain the reasons behind barking dogs.  A lot of the dogs in yards around here must be ignored or taken for granted by their owners.  You can tell which ones get attention.  The ones that don't are yappers.  Only good thing is that it's like an alarm clock so I know when the mailman is coming.

V8 Dennis, 4.27 was the price on Costco gas yesterday.  Didn't notice what the others were.  I think some of the local stations are almost as good as Costco anyway.  Can't see waiting in line and paying cash or by debit card to save only about a penny per gal.  The only place I have been to in Sylmar is the Nethercut auto museum.  Quite a place.  I suspect that you have been there too.

Need to check up on my friend recovering from heart surgery.  Last I heard he was doing good and even taking his dog for short walks.  Doctors won't let him drive yet though.

Got a call from my sister in Virginia yesterday.  She said our sister with the cancer from North Carolina came to see her.  That's amazing!  A few weeks ago we thought she only had a short time to live.  Thank the Lord for each day she gets.  The sister in Virginia has arthritis and other health problems that prevent her from traveling so she missed out on the reunion we had back in November in N.C.  My youngest sister who has been staying with her went with her to Virginia.  So three sisters had a reunion there.

later,

Ray

SP Ray.........over the past 13 years, the more I have trained our dogs with our dog trainer, the more I have come to realize how very little my wife and I know about how a dog thinks, what a dog values, and what a dog needs to be content, well adjusted, and "normal."  Dogs don't think much about yesterday and certainly don't worry a lick about tomorrow.  They live in the here and now.  We could learn a lot from our dogs.

If you locked both your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car, and then let them out 15 minutes later, only one of the two would be glad to see you when you opened the trunk lid.  Guess which one?  By the way, dogs don't carry grudges.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Re gas prices, we're running $.35 a gallon lower than you on the right coast!!!!!  Go figure!

Well hi guys,

Thanks for the well wishes and prayers for Katie. This thing she has is not like something that will kill her but it is very painful.

We got to Loyola just fine Traffic was ok all things considering. (Chicago Traffic) Black Eye

Dr. apt went well, things are looking better but no final answers for at least 6 more weeks. I tried to show her the route just in case she has to make the trip by herself. Confused

Coming home the wind was,,,, as the Chief would say

,,,, Hawling????

and pushing the truck all over the place on I55 and I80. I could watch the gas gauge moving to the big E.

Saw some woman just drive right into a tree in Joliet after I dropped off Katie. What The Heck???? Must have been on her cell phone. Dunce She was okay but the jeep she was in did not fair so well. Dead

Took just over ½ tank of gas for the trip in my gas loving Dakota and I got stuck with the $5.00 hospital parking.  Sigh

Pat I am with you on Princes Sparkle. Don’t expect too much so I will never be let down. Laugh

Jack speaking of multiple uses being interesting, check out the Marseilles Chamber of Commerce.

Later guys,

Kev.

Rich,

           Congrats on the job.

Brent,

               Welcome back.

Jack,

Not sure how you keep everything straight, but I enjoy reading your posts.  Also makes things easier when I need to catch up.

It was sunny and into the 60s here today, unlike Monday when it was 30 as I was under the Mustang removing the MAC mufflers and replacing them with Ford Racing's FR500S mufflers.  No more drone with these, and they sound much better than the MACs.Thumbs Up

I am now jealous of someone down the road that picked up a clean and rot free 92 Probe LX.Surprise  Red with red cloth interior, and looks super clean.  Gives me motivation to get this GL back into shape.  Will start Friday.  It runs good around the block, just needs work getting it to stop without praying.Laugh

Jack, my BB&T bank manager girlfriend I had lunch with today is flying to Boston tomorrow about noon.  Taking her parents to meet "Mr. Right" in Bedford, MA. [I think I have that right].  She usually flies in to Manchester like I use to do all the time.  Parents haven't seen Boston before.  Having lunch and a look see.  Then driving to future hubby's house.  He is moving to Roseyville to live with her.  Smart guy moving to Roseyville.  Already getting him set up to do shooting and fishing.

Full moon. Surprise  Extra warm.

National news says we are going to be imbarded with electrons from a massive sun spot.  May shut down power grids and mess with satellites.  Tomorrow thru Friday. Sigh

Time for me to call it a night. Had dinner with my parents at KFC tonight. Buffet is cheaper for senior citizens. We've already had several short rain showers here. Rains getting a head start on tomorrow. Supposed to be 20% tonight and the same or a little higher tomorrow. Looks like rain through to Tuesday. See y'all tomorrow.

Hey Guys....

Well, after My Princess came home, we had a sit down, Italian style.....we came to terms and we both understand each other.  Her mood was much improved.

This morning was a late class day for her and off day for me.  We got ready and went to Panera (her favorite) for lunch and study time sans cell phones.  Goal: pass the drivers permit test.  We ate and crammed, then the 15 minute journey to DMV she read over the questions and answers......Her driving test is September 7th at High Noon!!!  Daddy is very proud...phone calls and texts were made of the glorious moment!

It was up to 60 today and a little 20 mile ride was in order.  the ol' Sporty fired right up and off I went.  Tomorrow is supposed to be just as nice.

Guys - thanks for all the uplifting and support.  I just have to make it another 30 days....Smile, Wink & GrinThumbs Up

Leon's viewing was tonight, closed casket, with Fire Dept. services.  He was an avid Lionel man.  I had a "date" with him to a TCA show in Philly in the spring.  Due to his illness, I never did see his layout, which he said was "pretty big".  Thanks for the prayers for him.

Brent - Good to See you again.....

Hudson/John - Wow, do you ever take a day off....?Smile, Wink & Grin

Hey Pat, Trust me, if I had to see Kyle B or Danica do ANYTHING.....Danica is MUCH easier on the eyes...

And Penske is going back to Fords next year....sheesh.....Bang Head

Blownout - Love the A/FX Dodge and ol' Fast Eddie Schartman another earlier Funny Car Pilot

Off to bed, early day tomorrow then work at 1300 then FD Meeting at 1900...long day....Bang Head

See Ya tomorrow!

Got a new TCA magazine today and nice chat with the guys tonight.  TARDIS is ready, Freddy - let's go!

Mostly cloudy and high 60's today.  The bottom is supposed to drop out tonight, though.

Got three loops of track set back up and ran some trains tonight.  Cured the cab rotation issue on the Burro crane.  Turns out the wires connecting the field windings were the culprit.  Re-routed them and everything is fine.  Threw a tire on my Aerotrain.  Looks like replacement won't be that bad.  I think two screws will remove the side frame, granting access to replace the tire.

All for now.

 ChiefEagles:

Frankie is giving me a Ruger .40 cal. semi auto rifle.  The regular Wake Co. Deputies carried them in their cars for sevearl years.  Then taken up and stored.  He got to buy two at a cheap price.  I thought I was going to reimburse him.  He says no.  Nice the role has changed.  This will make a short range personal defence weapon.

Is it a PC4?  I have one and love it :)

Not sure the model.  Thought a PC4 was a pistol. ???? Frankie said this one was designed for the Sheriff's Dept. At that time, they carried a .40 cal. pistol.  Kind of like the old west.  Same cal. rifle as pistol.  Now a .357 Sig pistol.  Not sure what the regular Deputies have.  He has fully auto rifle and a black box of goodies in the back of his black Durango.

Hello all

Back at work for another week. We were open for a while tonight but then had to close due to high humidity and frost.

Got a lot of projects to work on this week, so that's good. The N&W cars are very interesting. Kit built from wood and metal. All need to figure out the added capacitor on the ZW. Prob make a separate post on that.

Picked up the track from the Ace Hardware Hobby shop on Tuesday. They moved into a bigger building and that's a good thing. Was thinking of sending Fastrack to my friend w/ the Amtrak set, but that's stuff is just too pricy for my budget.

Rich - that's great news on the job!

Time to find a pillow soon.

Mornin' boys.  Paradise here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Our governor will look longingly to California and make the argument we need another 15 cent per gallon tax...  He and his cronies are going to raise boat registrations by 500%, under the disguise of helping the environment.  I already have U-haul on speed-dial.

anjdevil - So where does one find a spare equine head in Jersey...?
