Good morning all,

First off, prayers for SP Ray and his sister.  Weather is rainy in SE Indiana but should clear off for tonight's game.  Temps will be cooler, but I will be dressed and prepped for it.  I had a good day at work yesterday.  Started going thru some stuff of my folks last night.  Need to get that done so house can get back to normal.  Found a box of travel articles mom had clipped out of newspapers.  Even if we ever wanted to go to those places, the information is so old as to be useless.  Out it goes.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it to "Points East".  TBIL after the game, but some one else will have to drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Evening

54 tonight, we had a short time rain pattern pass earlier.

Ray sorry to read about you sister. Hopefully they can control the pain for her. I didn't do anything today except my visit with granny Pat, she seems to be doing well. All IVs are gone but of course they still use the needle port for meds. And they have had her up twice a day to walk some. Banilla is ready...S.J.

It felt so good to sleep in a real bed last night, best sleep I've had in about 2 weeks!

Dennis -- if you get a chance, visit the Wings Over the Rockies exhibit at the old Lowry Air Force Base near the former Stapleton airport, UNBELIEVABLE!  They have a B1A Stealth Bomber on display along with a huge display of Air Force fighters and bombers, all enclosed.  Lots of Air Force history in the building, well worth your time.

The other WONDERFUL opportunity is one we took advantage of this afternoon was visiting the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, just a suburb of Denver.  They have been there 52 years and have a wonderful collection of narrow gauge and standard gauge equipment, we really enjoyed it.  The real plus is going downstairs in the old building and seeing the HO exhibit, AMAZING set up  and I've never seen better scenery design any where.  Their attention to detail was fantastic and inspiring.  I would stay away from there on the weekends as Thomas is a huge draw, enough said.

Off to a Rockies/Giants game tomorrow night and then headed back to the mountains Friday morning, sure hope the snow stays away as I'll be back to the 9-12,000'  elevations one last time.

Jon

Good evening all,

Just got some bad news about one of my sisters who lives in Jacksonville, N.C.   She has been diagnosed with stage four  *** cancer.  They said that it had spread from the initial site so they don't intend to operate.  Don't know all the details yet because I got it second hand from another sister.  I did hear something like three to six months on the prognosis.  She is a widow about 67 and a non smoker.   Don't know how often she went for check ups but obviously, not enough.  I will have to figure out a good time to try and go see her which is a chore with my oxygen use on airplanes.  I need lead time to satisfiy all the airline requirements so it is probably better to go sooner than later.  She is still in the hospital and they are still working on pain mangement at this point.  Hope they can stabilize her soon and then I will know more about when and what to do.  Sorry to bend your ears guys but would appreciate any prayers that you could send up on her behalf.  Thanks

Ray

Good evening everyone.  Long day with plenty of work to do.  Had a meeting with son's gifted ed teacher.  She is going to give some extra work to supliment his required work so he will not get bored.  Must get it from my wife!  After all that, had to take kids to violin lessons.

Brutus, glad to hear Char's numbers are in line, but bad that she will be apt to get any bug that comes along.  Make sure you keep some hand sanitizer nearby for anyone who enters the home, etc.  Hope she builds up soon.

Jon, I have to be in Denver soon.  One of the equipment manufacturers has a lab out there that I have to go and do some experiments with.  It may only be a few days, but I do hope to at least get back to the Denver Museum.

Well, I have to get going.  Hope everyone has a great night.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good morning all,  actually it is11:48AM so its still morning.

Chuck, just wanted to say hello and wish you continued recovery.  I will keep you on the prayer list as long as you need it.  I know you will be glad to get home and enjoy Paula's cooking but hang in there and the time will go fast.

Best wishes and Angel for Char to keep doing well.

D.Baker, hope you have a safe trip home.

Jack, thanks for the prayers on the back problem.  I'm pretty much out of pain now but still taking meds prescribed by the doctor and avoiding any heavy lifting or vigorous exercises.  When I am walking lately it feels like I am pitching forward like about to loose my balance.  Maybe it's the meds.  Will see Doc next week.

S.J. prayers for Mrs S.J.Angel

later,

Ray

Lunch Time,

Busy but not overwhelming day.

Chuck, Keep it up.

SJ, Best wishes for Pat.

Brutus, All good news for char

Chief, Great story on the bell.

Roy, Great twist on the bell story.

RI Jack, You are right it is how they are raised. He gets very defensive of "His Cat" who is very old and prefers to stay outside most of the time. Other younger cats have been challenging her lately and he turns into a different dog and the growling and attack mode comes into play. After that the two will snuggle together. BTW the cat also gets along with the rabbit.

Have a Great Day,

John

After noon all well I still high bidder on one set of weights the other someone out bid me but I only did minimum on that one may go back and snip it at the end :) we'll see I also made a offer to a guy that had a scale and weights for sale but didn't sell so I made him a fair offer for just the weights. haven't heard back from him. I'm really looking forward to getting this scale as It looks real cool to me, seeing I'm actually a trained scratch baker

Chuck,

Glad to see you are back.  Keep the snow cannon powered down this year.

SJ,

        Angel for Pat.

RT,

Regarding the sauce/pudding mixup, I was wondering if you had one of the meals with the brownie.  Sometimes those don't bake correctly LOL.

Brent,

I replied to your email.  Can't remember when though due to my odd hours this week.

I have been on night shift this week.  6PM-6AM Monday and Tuesday.  I've been up since 12PM yesterday (at least I think that is what day it was), so I am a bit out of it right now.  Been running on Mountain Dew and the strongest coffee the machine could kick out.  I'll be back later.

Morning,

A quick post, made it to Reno and back!  Wow I forgot how big the Mojave really is.  Was 500 miles each way, took the El Camino, car really did well.  Stopped at a gas station and a guy in a Vette commented on how "quick" it was.  We had been traveling together for 3 hours or so.  (Managed 17mpg)

Made some sunscreen panels for brothers patio, It really improved the comfort level.  Lots and lots of real estate available in the area, just like everywhere else.

Doing a presentation today, and hopefully will get back into the swing of thing in a couple of days.

Glad to see Chuck doing so well.  And also Char's good news.

Take care and God Bless.

Aloha. Praying for your rapid recover, Chuck!  Brown haze and burning odor over the whole area from yesterday from wildfires on the Minn / Canada border. Isn't that something? Smells like fall used to before all the leaf-burning bans. Trees turning colors here... Took the youngest canoeing yesterday too as a sort of field trip. Good morning all,

It is supposed to be rainy in SE Indiana, but none so far.  A good day yesterday.  Work went well.  Weather was perfect for the game last night and we tied 3-3.  I was goalie for the first half and only gave up one score.  Perhaps Hope Solo could have stopped it, but not mere mortals.  Sarah Fisher and her husband had a baby girl, Zoey Marie.  Mother and daughter are doing fine.  Wife and I had a nice supper before the game as well, and she is starting to move things out of boxes from dad's house and putting them on the walls over here.  We are getting more space back in the house.   Life is not bad right now.  I had bacon and biscuits again on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on "Points East".  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evenin' All.

Good to see Chuck droppin' in. Yes

Prayers continue for Chuck & Paula, Char and Granny SJ.

Roy, I use "heart healthy pancake mix and low sodium bacon". Dinner

Jon, That is one great ride over Trailridge Rd, fantastic views.

Still been kinda draggin' since overdoing it last friday but not as bad as I was on saturday & sunday. Did manage to choke down an In-N-Out burger last night though.

Brutus, Glad to hear the issue is being resolved. I've only been disapointed with one transaction but it was my fault for not using due diligence.

Thanks for well wishes and prayers.  Continued prayers for Chuck and Paula too.

Doc called today and they reduced one of Char's meds to one pill per day (2mg).

Well, ebay stepped in and I'll be getting my money back plus original shipping on it. I'll be out a few bucks overall and will never ever buy from that guy again.

Overall, I have had good luck on ebay, but a very few times you get a real lemon.

Patrick - you got that right, I think the bad guys probably did 24 hours of recording Sunday so they can enjoy it over and over.

Tardis is ready and we have to pick up Jimbo and take him out for icecream, cause he ate all the banilla for breakfast!?!?!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Great news about Chuck, Char, and Granny SJ today.

SJ - just passing something my wife learned the hard way in her knee surgery recovery - Don't skimp on the pain pills during therapy.  My wife did, and it slowed her recovery down some.

All for now.

Pat -- thanks for the nice comment about the John Deere loco pic on our layout, sure has been a fun project.

I am back to civilization for a few days (Denver) for some rest, since Sept. 5 I've been on the road with the Goldwing in Colorado logging about 2200  wonderful miles so far.  I have less than a week before I get back home but the majority of the wonderful miles are behind me, I can't tell you how beautiful south west CO is at this time of year--drop dead gorgeous.  Was thinking about one of our forum members as I was close to Dove Creek near Cortez but needed to keep moving as it was a long day.  It has been great to learn more about the narrow gauge rail road history of Colorado, amazing history and work ethic of those men.

I did go over Trailridge Road this morning on the bike, 41 degrees at the top (thankfully no snow) and now it's 77 in Denver, love those mountains.  I did see Amtrak in Granby, that was fun, it was even on time!

good evening everyone.  Quick post as I have a dinner engagement I have to get to.  Great news on Chuck!  He had better watch them wanderring eyes when Miss Paula comes around!

Jack, sorry about your friend.  Our dogs have been a huge part of our family life and when they have died, it really hurts.  Amazing animals...I think God gave us dogs that we can see what love can really look like.  Imagine getting welcomed by family the way your dog does when you come home!

Brutus, been saying prayers for Miss Char.  Pray that she is up to full health real soon.

Chief, great story about the bell.  I enjoy hearing such family stories.  Wish we had some to pass along.  Regarding the Pot, it has been great.  While some of the faces have changed over time, it is still great to come and chat with folks.  All too often, we live our lives without enjoying a little peaceful time with friends.

It was a good day.  Had early morning bible study, followed by work.  A few long cases, but the day was good.  Have some work to get to and then that dinner I mentioned.

Hope everyone has a blessed night.

Good Morning

72, going to be a nice day.

Haven't talked to granny yet this morning. They were doing something with her. I'll see her after lunch. I know she will be in pain and I will surely get growled at today. Supper with Charlie tonight and then I may have to go into the kitchen. Almost as scary as visiting granny today...S.J.
