Like HudsonJohn, dinner time at work!
All these problems we are having from the power going out makes me wonder how much would go away if the lines were underground like they are in my area?
Jack - Sometimes I think we are without half of our starters too!
HudsonJohn - Get home soon! Sis doesn't inform me when my packages arrive!!!!
Later,
Ray

Dinner Time at work,
So far everyone has been working safe. One OSHA though, a dog bite from a frightened dog. All of the potential for serious injury and a dog bite.
Sorry guys no Tardis for me tonight again, but the wife promised to send the banilla. I am still waiting for the lemon ice cream for SJ and me.
Prayers for Chuck and support for Paula and the family. Prayers also for Char and all in need.
Hurricane Katia is waiting for us to restore all electric and gas and then sneak up on us.
Spanky, the shooter was not near your place yet.
Have a great day,
John
Doug M. it's a K-Line Allegheny that Charlie found on a York dealer website. It is undersized so will run on most layouts. You can see one on video at that other website.
Aloha. Sunny and Hot! Successfully got G'ma to O'Hare and the youngest to the doc and back - just bad allergies and can't find sudafed anywhere. The roofers dropped off their gear for replacing the roof tomorrow. Hope it doesn't rain! Hudson, thanks for all your good work restoring power. Brutus, that's a cool tool - I need to cut back branches from a high tree too close to the house - and my neighbor's house. Would that work? I was going to try to climb the tree with a saw. But that sounds too much like a Road Runner cartoon. Just lost out on an Ivor kit from the UK I was tracking. SJ, what K-Line engine are you considering?Isn't this cool? A replica CP engine running at the IRM
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Lunch Time!
Progress is being made on the restorations for both electric and gas. The water is receeding in most areas.
Just heard the horn from an engine crossing the road by the shop. There is a small railroad, the Raritan Central Railway that serves the area and industrial complex, (Raritan Center) where our shop is located. It reminds me of a train layout.
Prayers for Chuck and Char.
Everyone be careful,

Good morning
sun and Hi 80s today.
RI FEMA never got New Orleans rebuilt so what good will they be now? None. The entire money wasting agency should be hit by the delete button. Granny's BBsitting today/tomorrow so I'm thinking BLT but not too sure about the outcome lol. Had a nice chat with Brutus and Charlie last night but we couldn't save the world. Talked trains instead...S.J.
Good Mornin' Ya'll From Overcast And A Seasonal 68 Degrees,
Just a quick splash and go.
Continued prayers for Chuck and brave Paula. Hope Buckeye can get some good news for us.
Prayers also for those still suffering from the recent weather event here on the East coast. It is sad to watch the aftermath news coverage here in New England following Irene. Entire towns in VT. still cut off with annihilated roads and bridges and raging rivers. A few hundred thousand desperate customers still without power here in Taxachusetts alone, including about 15,000 in Foxboro MA. just South of Boston about 15 miles. Governor has been in Washington the past couple of days (doing what?) instead of........ minding the store at home, managing/pushing electric restoration, road and bridge restoration, and cleaning up the mess. FEMA and MEMA out of money, unable to fund even the last natural disaster?!?! More Senate and Congress stalemate wrangling in store. Well beyond useless to the last man and woman. Local or national take your pick. Same with party affiliation. In the private sector I wouldn't hire any of them, and if they were on my payroll they would all find themselves unemployed in a heartbeat.
As SJ said, it is getting dark way too early for my liking. This is just about the time of the year that I uncover and fire up the snowblower to see how it is working, leaving me time to get things done/fixed if they need be and avoid the crush of customers who wait until the first dire weather forecast (or later, when the snow is already flying) only to find they have to fall back on their snow shovels.
AF Ray and JoeyD..........sorry about last night. We still are without two every day starters and two of our starting pitchers, the latter of which we won't see play again this season. I don't know how everyone feels about sports injuries, but I don't like seeing teams playing without their best players.
MikeC.........I thought you considered open wheel automobile racing the number one sport.
Banks......sounds like your wife's knee is working just fine. No news is good news.
Later gang.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Good morning all,
It is HOT again in SE Indiana. Lots of that great American sport on tap the next four days as I will watch the high school boys play a home game tonight, ref two youth games on Saturday, and watch IU play on Sunday. It does not get much better than that except when I am playing and that league starts next Tuesday. Could use some more rain as we did get a small shower yesterday. All I did is go for a walk last night as wife was too tired from subbing yesterday. Work has been busy. Have to drive today (only time this week). TBIL after the game and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day. Prayers for all who need them.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Got up and went to work - got extra work, since a co-worker is out of town - came home and had some supper, and then had a nice chat with the boys. Thinking about getting a 8 foot pole electric trimmer/chainsaw, as I could use it to clear out some of that crap back in my wooded area. I had a nice chat with Charlie and SJ. Missed you, John - hope all is well. Glad we have the banilla, though!
Maybe they could hire a lot of people who are looking for work, give them grinders, and have them clear all that area with grinders and steamers to get rid of those mussels? I'm sure they could figure out a way to move and save the water - if nothing else, run it though a big boiler first? Could just run through pipe on top of black plastic sheets during the day down there - solar energy. I mean to do this at a reservoir, not at the great lakes!
TARDIS is ready, so let's hit the road!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
77 nice out, just came in, spent the evening outside. Read some of CTT. It's getting dark at least an hour earlier than June and the sun is heading south. Had an online chat with Charlie this afternoon discussing the purchase of a new K-Line engine. John saved the banilla so all is well. Fire up the thingy...S.J.
Thanks RI52
I didn't get up early to start them I just started them when I got up that day lol

Chief cut us off at 698 posts on the last one with this early start. RT does a better job.
Jack.
Dinner time at work,
We have been very busy. Today we did not have internet or the company network until the afternoon. The phones will receive some calls and wont let you call out. Power is on and off (I thought we were the Electric Company). My high point last night was when my wife brought me fresh clothes and a few other things.
Mike C, Congrats on your collection.
AF53, One day I will be back to Bayville.
SJ, Brutus and Charlie, Start the Tardis without me. I will ask my wife to transport the banilla to you.
Keep Dry,
But it won't be the same will it...lol
sir james I Now RT won't have a reason to get up early tomorrow.
Now RT won't have a reason to get up early tomorrow.
Yes I do I have to get up at 5 so I can get ready for work and get there on time and thats the earlist I get up period :)
Starting early. As soon as I get errands done, big trailer hitched [has big pig cooker I have and some furniture] and shower, I'm gone to the lake house until next Monday or Tuesday.
Yesterday was a killer. Fields flooded, trees down and humid. Marked 90% of the farm with purple paint [posted] and with signs. Put up two double deer tree stands. Lots of walking. "Mired up" with rubber boots on a lot.
Prayers for Chuck, Char and the folks up North.
Have a great holiday.
