Brutus I would not of told him I will keep it for parts. I would of told him what was wrong and told him you wanted a full refund including shipping and ask what he wanted you to do with the engine. Then let him reply as you bought what was suppose to be new in box. If he doesn't want to help you can always go into ebay act like your going to do a neg and they will ask if there is a problem as you can be refunded full price + shipping if there is and all you have to do is return it the cheapest way you can find and I would insure it for the amount you paid so in-case he tries to say it got damage in return shipping more than what it was when it left him.

Evening all, Evening blueberry hows it going? Going fine here off tomorrow as switched with a guy that needed today off. so I then go back to work for 2 days and off again for 2 days Yes

Chuck,

               Welcome back.

Brent,

What you said about those pleasant views made me think of the hygenists at the dentist I go to.Smile, Wink & Grin

Fife,

Congrats on the 25 years of service.

Except for a minor ladder mishap yesterday, work has been uneventful.  Enjoying the day off today, and will enjoy having the weekend off.  I get to start the 6PM-6AM shift Monday, and I am looking forward to that change of pace.

Took the Mustang out for about an hour today just driving around the area.  Saw two Grabber Orange GTs while I was out, and that really suprised me.  Usually I see black, silver, and Redfire.  After swapping out the stock air intake for the Airaid, the MPG jumped from 15.9 city to about 26 city driving conservatively.Thumbs Up  Even when my foot got heavier Devil, still managed 22 MPG. Thumbs Up

I made time during nights this past week to get down to the layout and put my MTH locos through their paces.  Last weekend I was ready to through in the towel feeling like I'd done it all, but after picking up the DCS handheld again, I remembered  why I enjoy this.

Good Mornin' Ya'll From Overcast But Drying Out Taxachusetts,

Chuck........it was beyond great to read your first post back yesterday and then the one you posted this morning.  I suppose there is no sense in any of us giving you advice because Paula and your PT crew will be keeping you on a short leash.  In the interim, the best we can do is begin harassing you, and it will feel good to do so.  If the Chief suggests a healthy diet that includes grits, don't listen. Thumbs UpSmile, Wink & Grin

RT.......I agree with you.  Chuck's post made all with the world seem right.

LAZ.........you definitely got nailed far worse by the rains the past 4-5 days in your neck of the woods flooding.  The highest rainfall total here in Taxachusetts was 7 inches from this one, so our re-flooding pales by comparison.  Those video clips you provided were real eye openers.  Upstate NY got hammered again as well.  Devastating destruction.

DonB........sorry for the small font.  12 or larger it is from here on out.

Brent.........glad to hear you are having a ball with little Christina.  You and the Q  are truly blessed.  Thumbs Up  88 separation anxiety already? Laugh

DougDG, RaySP, V8.....hope you didn't get caught by the locale constable running around naked while trying to stay cool during the power outage. Surprise  Nice timing.....100 degrees plus and no A/C.  Bang Head.

Pat.........I just hope Chuck brought his camera with him to "document" his "incarceration." Laugh

Read Brutus' post about cutting the lawn, but I may have to wait a day until things dry out a bit here.  Yup, the green stuff grew quite a bit the past few dreary days.

Later, gang!

Jack

Good morning all,

Cooler weather expected today.  Hooray!  Only in the 90"s.

Chuck, really good to see you posting again.  Hope you get that good looking therapist again.

Prayers for you guys in the flood zone.

Laz, thanks for the photos/Vids.  I thought that house floating down the river was going to take out the bridge.  However the dummies on the bridge stood right there and watched it.  They were lucky.

Got a call from one of my Thursday night visitors last night who was wondering if he should come over for trains.  My first reaction was what planet are you calling from.  I guess it must have been a lot cooler where he was calling from down in Orange County.  I told him that it was so hot that the rubber molding on my car softened up from the heat and caused the window glass to jump out of the track yesterday.  At least he had some good news.  He finally found a job even if only for a few months after being out almost two years and looking the whole time.  I had been down for a nap and didn't wake up until about 7:00PM.  Family waited for me for dinner so we threw together some good leftovers and bought some flame broiled chicken to go with it.  (Pollo Loco)

With the time difference your day in the East must be half over by now but have a good evening.

Ray

88 - If the game is as good as Packers/Saints, I'll be happy either way.  I see the princess is stealing the show.

dwiemer - Can't seem to locate any info on a browse.  Railroads typically will park loaded coal trains across stone/masonry bridges during such weather events.  If anything were in peril, it may be Shocks Mill Bridge below Three Mile Island.

WELCOM BACK CHUCK!!!!!

Mornin' Fellas!

Fife - I had a planned day off yesterday. Got to spend the day with the little one - what a joy! Went to the orthodonist for my invisiline appt, the ladies were simply gaga over Christina. Then I had to stop by the eye dr to get my new glasses adjusted (need new lenses as they messed up the distance correction), the girls there couldn't get enough of Christina either! I got no attention... Sad But I did get some rather pleasant views... Whistling

Social Worker comes tomorrow for our second post-placement visit. Then Sunday THE STEELERS come to town to show The Ravens how real football is played... Then Monday I have to drop Christina off for her first day of day-care... Sad

What  a beautiful morning it is.  It is nice and cool here with highs in the upper 80's on store for us.  Sky is blue and the sun is bright.  I am on call still, and will be going in a little later.  Worked till late yesterday and got called in again last night.  Got home early this morning.  The landscapers were here yesterday and the yard looks very good.  Our next door neighbor is a nice guy.  A radiologist who works from home using his computer to do X-ray readings.  Right now, he is on his riding mower....I think he does it as a kind of therapy.  What a life!  gets to work when he feels like it, or from wherever he wants, so long as he has his computer with him.

Chief, it wasn't me who called.  I was probably asleep when you got that one.
Chuck, it is so good to see your posts.  Hang in there and know you got folks out here who care.
Fife, sad to see the destruction.  Glad you are OK.  My dad had about 8 inches in his basement, but otherwise all is OK.  Are they still running trains on the Rockville Bridge with the water so high?
JohnF., will pray that you and your family are OK with all that rain.

Well, I have to get going.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good Morning

Overcast, 63, more rain expected. Our weather is being affected by the storm in the east. We are just chilly and wet, no flooding. Breakfast was eggs, hash browns and 1 toast...S.J.

Brutus the seller listed that item as NIB, it doesn't matter what you were going to do with it, he did not send what he listed. If he does not compensate notify PP or he'll just keep on shafting people.

laz - Astonishing photos and videos.  The images at Hershey Park (we get there often) really give the depth of the situation.

Hurricane Agnes really cleared the table in our region back in '72.  Developers only had to look to the nearby railroads to rationalize their real estate ventures.  Case in point:  look at pics of Port Deposit.  The PRR spent the better part of a century making sure its Port Road would be above flood levels, and the roadbed is now sitting high and dry (for the moment).  Yet, recent condos were erected pretty much at the banks of the Susquehanna.  I feel for all the losses that are being incurred, but there is still a bit of Dunce"what did you think was going to happen?" in my logic.  Same goes for Havre de Grace.  All those half-million per unit condos in a flood plain...

Aloha from a cool grey day. But TGIF! Wow, Laz, that's some flooding. Good morning, Chuck. Continued prayers! Brutus, that's a bummer about Percy / Ivor.  Nice to see the NFL back. Kept switching back-and-forth with the Sox game. (why do I still watch Big Smile)  Got some ideas to try out on the layout too.

Hi GUYZ,

Well everything is flooding here in PA.  ROCKVILLE BRIDGE is up to the arches and at the Dauphin Narrows 322 leading into Harrisburg is closed.  All the schools around here are closed and are using the school for shelters.  JELECTRIC probably got the most rain at 15.2 inches so said the TV.  Hope he is dry there.  Going to get some stuff done today then go take some pics of trout stream and river.

Stay frosty,

Good morning all,

It is a rainy day in SE Indiana, but a sunny day on the pot as CHUCK IS BACK!!!!!    An extra is headed to "Points East" with a load of bran muffins, which is what I had on the dining car for breakfast, courtesy of the "saucy wench".  A rare "quad-fecta" occurred as both the JV and varsity teams of "my" soccer girls and soccer boys won on the same night.  This after the varsity boys won on Wednesday as well to stay undefeated.  Two more wins by the boys will set a new record for regular season wins for either boys or girls, and hopefully that will occur soon.  We had rain both nights, but I stayed drier Thursday.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

WELCOME BACK CHUCK!!!

I sure hope you continue to improve every day and get back on the dining car schedule!  We all missed you, brother!

RAY - Love that Gilbert and Sullivan song about mad dogs and Englishmen Thumbs Up

Prayers too for all those in the flood areas, Laz, Banks and RIJ!  Keep your powder dry!

8NT - sounds like situation normal to me.  Oh - Electric Trains Outlet on Page is great, you will like it.  They are pretty much MSRP, but they have a really wide collection of stuff in O gauge with mostly Lionel, MTH, and some Atlas.  When will you be in town?  I might be able to meet you for a burger somewhere for lunch?  Maybe you can come over to Union Station, which is right next to where I work?  They have a very small display of train stuff, but it is worth a quick visit?  Send me an IM on here if you want to try.

Doug - that Percy showed up today and someone really did a job on it.  I sent a message to the seller with a long list of the problems including parts glued in place that should come off, like the smoke stack which releases the face, a couple stripped screws, glue drips on one side, rubbed pain, re-glued bumpers that are not even, etc.  I told him I will keep it for parts, but want to know what he will do before I post feedback on this engine.

Don - good luck on the rent, man.  Thanks for the TARDIS link, I really like that website.  I even had a hardcopy of their catalog one time, but loaned it out and it disappeared as usually happens.

Haven't seen the pic, but Congrats Roy!

RT - glad to hear your spirits were uplifted!

Really needed to mow the yard tonight, but just haven't been feeling well this week, so took it easy.  I'll try to get to it this weekend.

Chief - better get ready for that snow!

Fife - congrats!

I know I missed a lot of commentary here, but I am not good at that, lol!  God bless us, every one.

TARDIS is ready, so let's go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Let's see, 8:10pm here, so most of you have probably gone to bed.  Therefore, Good Morning.

Ray - I have those days as well, sometimes you just can't do anything right, and everything seems to just "go wrong", THEN the next day the opposite.  Hope the bad days don't become to frequent.

Looks like there is a major power outage going on here, obviously I'm not affected.  But, guess over a million people are in Arizona and So. Cal, (San Diego and Orange Co.)  What's really strange is that San Onofre Nuclear Plant is right in the middle.  Doug dg is probably affected.

SURE GLAD TO SEE CHUCK BACK !!  GREAT TO SEE YOUR POST !

Talked with John F, earlier.  Seems he managed through the rain OK, but sure was a lot of people affected in his area.

Going to be heading up to Reno tomorrow, taking Chris to a campsite then up to see my brother for a couple of days.  It will be a pleasant drive and should be an enjoyable trip.

Jack - You need to increase the font.  Your stuff is always worth reading, but having to print it out, then putting under a microscope, is a pain.  Or was it that you had folks looking over your shoulder?

Listened to the President's speech tonight, now I'm fully motivated and looking forward to tomorrow.

Till later best wishes for all, Chuck glad to see you back, hope the flood waters don't rise, and the fires subside.

God Bless

Welcome back Chuck.

More EF (Entertainment Factor) at work tomorrow.  I got pulled into the 'how did we let this happen' meeting on the project I was venting about yesterday.  With the people involved, and the documentation that is available, I think my part will be a minor part of the meeting.  Going to have to remember to install a new scarcasam filter before the meeting and put my 'keep your mouth shut' cue card in my pocket.

Can anybody reccomend 'must visit' train shops in the Cleveland area?  Just found out I've got a business trip there in the near future.

All for now.

Wow!  A live post from Chuck!   Atta boy Chuck and keep up the good work for recovery.  You had a lot of guys sending up prayers for  you and we will send more for recovery.  Should we call you Lazrus?  Just kidding but it appears the Lord has done wonderous things to you.

I tried to do what I consider a simple job this afternoon.  Stopped by Ace hardware and got a new leader hose to attach to a bad on in the hose reel/caddy.  It was about 105 outside but I was in the shade. Hose was a little too small to go over the nipple on the thing but I forced it on.  I also cut the wrong end off of the hose before attaching to get rid of unwanted thingy on the end of the hose.  Went back to Ace and got an adapter to fix my mistake.  I finally got the thing hooked up but it still leaks a little around some of the connections..  Used clamps on them as tight as I could go.  By the time I got through I was wringing wet with sweat from the heat.  What was that saying?  Only mad dogs and Englishman go out in the noon day sun..  Finally had lunch about 4:00PM and a nap.  Just woke up about 7:00PM.  Got to figure out what we will do about dinner now.  Back was complaining after all this activity.  All I need to know now is where to go to surrender.  I give up.

Ray

Oh what a great evening to check in...Welcome Back CHUCK!!!!!, it is great to see that you are awake and active.  Now listen, do your exercises, breathing treatments, take your meds, stay away from anything that will hurt your lungs, etc., and do as your docs tell you!  You have certainly drawn a lot of us to focus prayer on you and Paula.  We will keep them coming!  It is great to have you back....you have a lot of folks who care about you big guy.

Joe, glad you made it down to the deep south!  Hope to make arrangements to visit soon.  I am on call and have been working a lot of long cases.  I will check in with SWMBO and find out when we can head that way.

Don, good luck with the city.  Sad thing is that they will be quick to kick a group out who pays a certain rent without having any viable group to move in and rent the place at higher fees.  Then, they lose the revenue from the first group and the place just goes to pot.

Regarding parrots, they are neat to go see at an aviary or zoo, but I can do without the wild ones.  When I lived in south Florida, they were everywhere.  Boy can they be loud too.  Never mind the mess they leave behind.

Chief, our bow season opens up too.  This year the limit is 12 deer.  Also, our season goes till the middle of January.  Regarding senior licenses, Georgia does have a good deal for seniors.  They also have lifetime sport hunting/fishing licenses that are a good deal if you buy them for your children.  Even if they move out of state, they keep them.

Well, it has been a long day.  Going to head into bed.  Hope that each of you has a great night.  I need to go thank God for the answered prayers with our friend Chuck!

God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening all,

Welcome back Chuck!  It's great to see you back here.

Day two of my invasion went well.  Academically, it was an easy day as well.  I'm watching the Packers-Saints game now.  Neither one is my team so I'll just enjoy the game.  The Yankees lost today, but at least the Sox are losing right now.

Good night,

Joe
