Happy Father's Day to one and all.  Baby Buckeye called me bright and early from Brooklyn, NY.

SL.....Happy belated 39th Birthday!!!!! CakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCakeCake So why did you get run out of Ohio? Big Smile

Back from the Lake, so I have some catching up to do.

Pat.....Being a big farmer, have you ever heard of  Louis Bromfield and Malabar Farms? If not, check out the names on Google.

Dennis....I saw Bob's Train Box and that Hudson is something else.  I can't wait for the day that instead of using electrified track, we use batteries and remote control to run everything.  I still can't believe they have not offered us the option of recording our own train announcements.

Charlie..... DrinksDrinksDrinksDrinksDrinksDrinksDrinksDrinksDrinksDrinksDrinks  There ya go Chiefie!

Don.....NJ is now going to have the ultimate protection from Baby Buckeye.

fifedog....Bubba Gump Shrimp and Baltimore make a lot of sense, but they will not be able to compete with Stony Creek Inn.

Train Dude......Thanks for the great welcome.  Where is the nearest train store? Big Smile  When I visit Baby Buckeye and family sometime this fall, we need to have some coffee and pie.  Of course, and Laz can confirm this claim, I do not bring grits.  I bring something far better!!!

Demay.......Excellent advice.

SP.......Chief and I are now in our 6th year.

Chuck.....See how much better your Indians are doing since you are staying awake in the coach's chair?  My advice of course was free.

SPMan....How far east is son going railfanning? Make sure he sees North Platte.

Ray....I see it is nice and cool in Texas this week.

Off to check the defenses that stymie the Chief's mischief.  Everyone have a good day.

Buckeye I personally dread the day everything is run by battery. The day they do away with electrified track I feel is the doom as the cost for having to get battiers will kill it. yes I know the cost of electric is probably acually more and with rechargeable batteries you have longer life of the batteries. I also realize look at cordless tools and all I just look at how many batteries you will need. every accesory will need at least one battery, every passenger car will need one battery, the engine, ect ect

I prefer to pay the electric bill and not worry about 100 batteries. I don't even put batteries in my tmcc engines that use them for shut dow or what ever as there not needed probably why I don't own any mth engines that have proto in it ( 1,2,or3 ) main reason probably keeps me away from it. Buckeye I acually used the above to start a new topic in the general forum hope you don't mind.

Morning all hows it going. Happy pappy day to you all :)

Happy Father's Day,

I spent yesterday over my Mother's with my son and 2 of my brothers on a work detail. We took a tree down, trimmed all of the bushes and snaked out the drains. Then we sat down and got a cpouple of pizzas from a place in town that serves Brick Oven Pizza, Brooklyn Style. Yes Traindood, Brooklyn Style. It is excellent.  Then the wife and I did something we have not done in a while, sat down, talked and watched TV together for over 5 hours. She was interrupted with calls from the Ice Cream Shop, but we needed the down time together.

Traindood, Knowing my brother in law, AF53, Ray will follow through with the Yankee Shirt. It will be a good excuse to get together and have a few laughs.

8n, I have seen only 2 Mustangs with bench seats. One belonged to a friend of mine and it was a 66 convetible, the other belonged to a friend of mine's son and that is a 65 convertible. That was a seldom ordered option.

AF53, the first time I saw the Boss, was at Mrs. Jay's in Asbury Park right before the Greetings from Asbury Park album first came out. I keep think of Clarence. He was a great performer and person and will be missed.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Enjoy and Cheerish the Day.

Afternoon all!

103 here. Constantly windy (25-30) which is getting a bit boring since it has been going nearly non-stop for weeks with only a slight break last weekend.

Was out of town for the week - got in very late Thursday night (actually very early Friday morning), so have been in a daze for last day or so.

Chief and Traindood - not sure what to tell you with the buzzing. The buzzing itself is caused by the chopped sine wave from the modern ZW controller (same for a CW-80). At lower voltages the chopping is very pronounced and as you go to max voltage - very little chop remains in the sine wave so the buzzing ceases. When you removed the light bulbs you broke the circuit in the passenger cars so the buzzing stopped. I am not familiar with those cars and even though they had 14 volt bulbs (vs 18), I am assuming there is no other circuitry between the wheels and rollers and the bulbs so there is no electronic circuit to create the buzzing. I have had instances where poor electrical contact can cause a noise such as this. The close gaps of the axles in the wheels can create a spark gap. At low voltage the pronounced chopped since wave is a pulsed voltage and can create buzzing noises when placed across such a gap. I would try some Labelle 108 or Wahl clipper oil. Both are conductive. The conductive oil on the bearings of the passenger car axles, wheels, and rollers will improve the electrical conductivity. It would be interesting to hear if that resolves the issue.

SJ - Happy B-Day

Going to dinner with some friends tonight. Fathers day lunch tomorrow. Asked the clan to keep it low key so I think we are going to one of my favorite burger joints. Doing lunch as daughter has to work.

Have a great evening all!

Have you considered installing a windmill? Seriously, with a constant wind supply, you could generate electricity for your whole house. Sell any excess back to the electric company, just like solar power.

Mormin' fellas and gals:   Happy Father's Day to everyone!    Hey Pat; speaking of windmills, in my town, at Germany flats, the township is going to install a bunch of windmills. Can't wait!    Hey Ray;   Those photos were taken decades ago, lost to posterity.  My haberdasher (Sears) used to make shirts for me in extra large size, now however, i have shrunk down to only a large. But, don't count your chickens before they hatch!   Hey John; thanks for offer, would be swell to get together and have a few laughs. especially if those bums go in the tank.  Count me in!            later.

Happy Father's day all,

Buckeye, #2 son left yesterday for Railfan trip.  Today he is in Milwaukee attending some kind of Indy type car race.  After that he will see parts of Illinois including Chicago and parts of Wisconsin.

Cloudy (marine layer) cool morning.  It was hot yesterday after it burned off.

One more PT session scheduled for next week, then will see the doc to see if I need more but I'm doing good according to therapy people.  Been getting slight headaches lately sometimes.  Kind of wondered if it could be side of effect from pain medication but I'm not takiing it anymore.  Nothing about it in paper work.  Will ask doctor.

Watched Irish kid tearing up the U.S. Open yesterday.  Wow! 14 under par.  He is only 22.  He blew up at the Masters with a big lead.  Hope he can make it this time.  All the U.S. players seem to be in the tank this time.  We need a new hero since Tiger self distructed.  Hope he gets his life straightened out someday.

later,

Ray

Aloha and Happy Father's Day!  Hope you all feel celebrated today. Nice chatting with the boys last night, and running trains.

That's an interesting idea. Pat. They sell small versions even here. There's a gigantic windmill a few miles away from us - it's 5 stories tall. It provides supplemental power to some plant. There's a whole huge, spooky farm visible for miles from I-65 on the way from Chicago to Indy.

Pat......Malabar Farms is only about 20 miles from our house at the lake.   It is one of the most beautiful places in Ohio with Bald Eagles perched high in the trees overlooking a trout stream.  Other wild animals roam the dense woods on both sides of the valley where the cows graze in lush green fields.  The old stage coach stop, now a restaurant, still uses the spring water that flows from the hills.

That farm sounds very nice!  I love stuff like that.  Wanted to buy a few acres and put a house on it years ago, but now we probably never will do it.  Oh well, this is enough house, especially when the kids are grown.

Big storm last night/this morning.  Just hung out all day until wife went out to take my son's friend home.  Turns out the neighbor's tree came down, but it fell on his side of the property line.  Mel wasn't home, but later we heard him out there and for father's day, I spent about 2.5 hours cutting up my neighbor's tree. I guess I'll help him haul it down to the woods for a while tomorrow night. I think it will be a multiple day project though.

Hope all you Dads out there had a good one Smile

TARDIS will be ready soon, hope Mike can drive as I'm beat.  I'll just hang out in the club car and have some boston cream pie my wife bought for us!

Evening all!

Happy Fathers Day to all of us fathers!

Pat - no windmill allowed here. I am in a dense neighborhood with height and noise restrictions. Any towers have to have a "fall" radius. I have thought about solar as I have a massive amount of south facing roof - but no matter how I calculate it (even installing myself) - electrical bill will have to get really high to offset the investment - and then all one needs is a  good ol' N TX hail storm and that is the end of the solar cells.

102 today and the wind continues (w/ 35 mph gusts) though Mon due to current predictions.

Busy week this week and maybe only one trip out of town for one night.

Have two college visits scheduled with son for next Mon (U of Oklahoma) and Tues (OSU).

Have a great evening all!

Regards, Roy

Thunder boomers last night.  Sunny and about 90 today.

Spent most of the day at work trying to get a project that is running late caught up.  Challenge is getting the manpower to do what needs to be done.  As Scarlet used to say "tommorrow is another day".

Out to Coulton's for a dinner.

Found a searchlight for my recently aquired EMD generator car.  Still looking for the pole.

Good evening all and Happy Father's Day!

I hope everyone enjoyed today and was able to relax and spend some quality time with a father or child.  We had a very relaxing day: playing games with the kids; watching Star Wars with the kids; and running the trains. I ran trains alone because the kids already had their showers and did not want to come out into the hot garage afterwards.  Oh, I made some delicious Reuben sandwiches for dinner - better than I can get in any restaurant in these parts.  Only Yanks can make Reuben sandwiches Chief

Yesterday we spend the day in OKC.  My MIL's side of the family had a reunion so we were required to attend.  I spent most of the time playing Frisbee with the kids.  It was 106 yesterday so we had to play in the shade.

The Yankees are winning 10-4 in the bottom of the 9th so I'm pretty sure they will win this game.  It's now time to relax with the wife before getting some sleep.

Good night,

Joe

Hello all,

Back from the Beach !!!!!!!

My computer at home is still at the computer Doc (I'll get it later today) So I couldn't check in till now. It'll take me a few days to catch up.

I found out last week that Mom has cancer in her uterus. We will will visit the oncology department at McGee's Women's in Pittsburgh tomorrow. At 90 years old I'm not sure what can or should be done. Please add her to your prayers.

Also, one of my nephews is having a procedure tomorrow to relieve atrial fibrulation. Some how they do it through arteries in the groin. It is still 6 hours under general anesthesia.

SS fund is really calling today, I'll check back ASAP.

Prayers for those in need.

Mornin' boys.  Wifey and kids took me (ok, I drove) to HavreDeGrace for dinner at the Tidewater.  Very nice meal, and I toasted everyone.  Hand-dipped ice cream and jungle gym, and a little boat watching for me, topped off the afternoon.

Banks - I was patrolling the waterways, but didn't see your signal...

Aloha. Just sloshed to work through a thunderstorm. Spending the rest of the day a bit damp. This is one of those days where the weather is just fine 46 miles away at home. Sounds like a good day was had by all, except Fife, who sounds like he's turned vegan eating at Have-the-Grass. Wink. Hope to hear more about the car being repaired today. Going to a balmy 99 today, 25-35 mph winds, and then some cooler mid-90's temps for the rest of the week. Maybe some showers tomorrow and tomorrow night. We need them. Nearly 5 inches behind on rain year to date.

Banks - Prayers for your mother and nephew. Angel

Doug M - Amazing how college vists start to make them act more mature. One more year of high school and we are done with that! Beer

Stay cool!

Good morning all,

Had a "hail" of a time getting to work today as I rode in with my car pool person.  Rough day at Milwaukee for my teams and Team Red finished 1,2, and 4 as well to rub salt in the wounds.  Moved more of Lucas' furniture from dad's to our place.  Lucas asked me if I was going to relax on Sunday.  I had to laugh.  Not too much left of the furniture.  Saw "Bridesmaids" over the weekend.  Good show.  Some of it over the top, but mostly well done.  I had sausage and pancakes for breakfast on the dining for the last two days.  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
