Good Mornin' Ya'll From Sunny and Warming Taxachusetts,

Clear and low 80s today.  Today's sun and temps are going to finish off all of the Boston Bruins fans who hit the downtown area bars at 5PM yesterday and partied before, during, and after the Bruins decisive and convincing game 7 victory over Vancouver for their first Stanley Cup in 39 years.  Only 6 arrests in Boston outside the Garden while Vancouver erupted in something far worse.

Mitch........... Thumbs UpDrinks congratulations to you and your better half on the occasion of your 9th anniversary yesterday.  You are right, the years fly by.

Dennis......I was sorry to hear about your firefighter friend.  Prayers for him and his family.

JimmyT.....patience!  The shifting smoothness will come with time and practice.  With that engine, if you tried you could probably get the M-GT rolling on level ground in first gear at idle without giving it any gas, if you let the cluch out slowly and smoothly enough.  In the beginning for all of us, it is a matter of not enough gas and a too-quick clutch release......but it will come quickly.

Chuck, Laz, and SJ......keep the faith.  If you check the records, the Indians and Tigers have the third and fourth best records in the American league.  And they have played 7 and 6 more road games, respectively, than the TEAM just ahead of them in winning percentage.  Sorry JoeD and AFLaugh  Seriously, this Boston team although balanced and talented are due for some doldrums, though last night's one hit shutout victory over Tampa last night was encouraging.

8n........re the lawn mowing physical therapy suggestion, you have quickness on your side for the time being.  But ya gotta go to bed sometime.  Smile, Wink & Grin

DougDG.......you are brilliant, stating the obvious.  I am surprised those guys didn't try out another similarly outfitted engine to rule out the track and connections as the root cause.

Later, gang.

Jack.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.

It's a family oriented town,  especially for the kids. If i can be of any assistance please do not hesitate to contact me . I been here for 16 years, so i should know a thing or two about the area. I would love to know where they are moving to. You can e-mail if you like,  anytime.   Glad to be able to help.   Looking forward to hearing from you.         later.

Hi All,

Everything is fair out this way. Since my layoff two years ago, my wife still has to work at the dentist office three days a week. Can't find anything substantial. Wild Bills is see more of me but less cash. Could probably get something on weekends but after 35 years being on call I love the time to enjoy the grandchildren's soccer and baseball games. Yesterday we were able to see my daughter (41 with 4 children including 7yr old triplets) complete a triathlon in 2:12.

Jim, A year ago, my son in law purchased a 2010 Cobra (yes patent attys can afford them and still support a family). He joined a Mustang owners on forum and had many questions answered. ALSO, last Memorial day he went to Danville, VA and was able to mingle with many SVT owners. Also was able to drive on the Virginia Intl Speedway 4.2mi course.

Prayers for all in need, ESPECIALLY for those "IN HARMS WAY"

Morning [almost afternoon].  Heating and Air buddy came by and seviced A/C unit.  Doing an estimate for zone system.  That way the train room will stay cooler in summer.  On the way to service oldest's JD mower.  Got to run.  Have a good one.

Good afternoon all,

I've been so busy with work the past few days I have not been able to post anything - most of it consisted of driving to OKC and Stillwater.  Today and tomorrow I will be glued to my desk catching up on paperwork.  The wife and I have to attend a farewell dinner tonight for an outgoing commander and his wife.  My wife is very good friends with his wife so she will have a good time.  I will have a good time for my wife's sake. Sigh

Jack/AF Ray - The Yankees are winning as well so I am not concerned with how well the Sox are playing.  I'm betting Jeter will be on fire after his stint on the DL.

Traindood - Thanks for the info on the lights.  As for young families managing today's higher prices: It's all about making smart choices with their money.  The simple formula Spend less than you earn will always work too (too bad Politicians are not schooled on this).  My modest income supports our family of five very well, and we even fully fund a Roth IRA and college funds for all three kids.  We stick to a strict budget and do not use credit cards or have debt.  If we don't have the money, we don't buy it.  We set goals and save towards them.  End SoapBox

Charlie - Congratulations on the anniversary.

Good day,

Joe

Good morning all,

Happy anniversary Charlie and Toni.

Dennis, condolences on the loss of your firefighter friend.

D.Baker, good job on bailing out the guys at the club.  Those kinds of problems are frustrating.  Hope you got through with all the doctor appointments.

Did not run trains yesterday.  Maybe have get together tonight for BS and trains.  Took my first good walk yesterday (about 20 minutes).  Knee seemed to be OK.  More PT today.

Cloudy and cool this morning.  High today 75.

Son who lives with us leaving on trip Saturday for a few days.  Wife and I plan to eat out a lot while he is gone.  We are too lazy to cook for just two.

Sounds like another battle going on over grits between Mr. Buckeye et al and the Chief.  Today would have been a good day for grits here with the cool weather.  They do seem to resemble paving material when you try to clean the pot the way they stick but they eat good.  I like oatmeal too but haven't had any lately.  Have to fix that.

Just had a knock on the door from my neighbor who wants to bring his girl friend over tonight to see trains so I guess I will be out there.  He says she is a real train buff.

later, Ray

Afternoon:      Hey Joe:    Why that's the craziest thing i have ever heard; living within your means. What's wrong with you? Some kind of odd ball? What is your major malfunction?   Do you realize if this catches on, this country will be out of debt in no time. Don't you want to support all these foreign countries with our money?      Laugh     Ahh!   The young people today! They are smarter than we think.  Good work!  Your kids will thank you for it.    As far as the captian is concerned, he's got a woo-ee on his woo-ee?    Mr. squeeky clean got a boo-boo?     Crying     Don't worry he'll be just fine; as soon as they wipe his nose and take the splinter out of his butt!     Until then the Bronx bums will just have to make do.      later.

Think good thoughts, do good deeds!

Hi guys! Been real busy with work. Just read 4 days of posts! Wow. Also been going to da Bronx alot lately. After Sunday's bleacher game we went to Tue nights game where we pounded the Rangers 12-4. As for the train front goes I scored some real nice accessories for my AF Pre War sets. It's amazing how some of this old stuff still looks like it never came out of the box.

Wife's car check engine light won't go away, computer show a few sensors might need to be replaced. Will repalce the gas cap first and in a few days hook it back up read the numbers again, I'm hoping it's just a few hose leaks, if not it could be costly!!

Chuck - Nice win on Monday! Consider it a going away present. But while you and the SJ's Tigers duke it out we will just sit back and watch.

JoeD - Nice to win one in the daytime like today especially in extra innings. It makes for an enjoyable and easier night.

SPRay - Nice to hear your walk went well. Keep it up. Day by day!

Jack - I think that wild card has your name all over it??????

SJ - Your team pulled out a big win today, could it be they are better than you thought?

Traindood - The Bronx bums are doing just fine, thank you!

Later

Dennis,

Sorry to hear about your friend.

Charlie,

               Happy anniversary.

John,

Have you ever changed the sparkplugs in your daughter's car?  I've been researching that, and I am afraid to try after reading about the possibility of the plugs separating.

Jack,

I am getting better.  I tried getting the car to move as you described, but that is a bit difficult.

Papa,

That's strange that you mentioned Danville, WV.  My Mustang was shipped from the Auto Alliance plant in Flat Rock, MI to a dealer in Danville, WV.  It didn't sell there, so it went to a dealer in West Mifflin, PA where the original owner bought it.

Not much going on today.  Work has been good, but I haven't done much else other than playing with my new toy.Big Smile  An American Muscle catalog came in the mail yesterday, so I think I know what's going to happen.Smile, Wink & Grin   There is a lot of nice stuff in there.

I need to get back to my other projects.  I was working on a 313 bascule bridge, but it won't take much to finish.

Evening all not a lot going on so far but as last night were suppose to get storms thru here. ( last night we lost power from 8:55 P.M. to 12:07 am then to make matters worst if you call to report they call you back about an hour after you have power to make sure well I don't need a call at 1 a.m.Bang Head

Well just put a chocolate cake in the oven when cool ( its going to be a layer cake) I'll put chocolate icing in between the layers and white icing on the sides and probably the top although may put chocolate on the top that would be a nice looking cake.

Not much else going on today talk to you all later

Good evening guys.  As expected, another long day.  Have more of the same in store for tomorrow.  I can't wait till Monday Morning when I get off call.  I am also supposed to be on camera for a wedding of one of the executive pastor's children on Saturday.  Being on call, it is one of those pray we don't get called during this days.  Happened when I was filming the wedding of the oldest daughter of our pastor....just as they were about to come back down the isle, I was paged to do an emergency heart.

Thanks for the kind thoughts about FF Walker.  He really was a great guy and a very good firefighter.  Back when we had a fire and some of our guys were killed, FF Walker and I pulled one of the guys out who got blown off a ladder and into a wall.  He landed on his knees and we ran in and pulled him out before the roof completely caved in.  During any fund raisers (the Jerry Lewis Telethon was our biggest), he was always there all day filling the boot.

Chief, I have been watching to make sure that Buckeye doesn't get the upper hand on you while you keep a busy schedule.  Seems like you are defending the border pretty well.  Shout if you need any back-up.

Joe, how profound that you spend less than you earn....perhaps you should share this plan with the folks in Washington.  Ah, they would never listen to you because you make sense.  With regard to credit cards, we stick with AmEx as it is paid off each month and we build points to buy stuff.

Had better go and get some sleep.  This week is wearing on me.  Hope to catch up with Y'all later.  Also hope that the fathers amongst us have a great Father's Day.
God Bless,
Dennis

Evenin' All.

Busy day today but a marvelous evening. We all went to the munchkin's promotion from pre-school to kindergarten, he had quite a cheering section both sets of grandparents and mom & dad. Did well thru the songs but was begining to get a little antsy towards the end.

Only two of us at the museum tomorrow, got a LOT of stuff packed and in the garage to load in the truck in the morning.

Jack, Although I appreciate the compliment it actually belongs to the other west coast codger, "Shake & Bake". Smile, Wink & Grin

About time to call it a nite, 4:30 comes far to quickly. Sigh

Good Morning,

Thunder storms just came through. The Electric company lost power for a few minutes. Smile, Wink & Grin

Ray, If Cathy is like Doray, she wont give up that car.

Jim, The plugs were never changed in my daughter's Mustang. She only trvels a couple of miles to work. She teaches at the high school where she went. I had a friend of mine do the plugs in the Explorer with the 4.6. They came out easy, but I know that there is a problem and there is a tool to remove the broken plug.  He was a little slow over the Holidays last year and I was working mega hours.

Looking forward to running the trains tonight.

Have a great day.

Good morning all,

It is sunny now, but rain may be here later in SE Indiana.  Jim (97Probe), if you have any musical background at all, do what I suggested to my daughters when they were learning to drive a stick.  I told them it was like playing an instrument.  Just listen to the engine for what it is saying to you.  It will tell you when it is happy and more importantly when it is not.  They paid attention to me.  Lucas never did in that regard.  That is why he only drives automatics.  Dennis W.  I was on call for 20 years at the one factory where I was an IT person.  Not quite the same intensity or life-or-death situations you faced, but I understand the aggravation.  So glad I am away from that situation.  INDYCAR is at Milwaukee this weekend.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,
