Hi GUYZ,

High 50s right now but gonna hit 90 today.  Gotta cut grass and move a ton o bricks.  Later today cookout and then watch fireworks on the river at dusk.  Got my workout in already, MINNIE got me up at 0500.  GOLFed yesterday, really stunk up the course.  Couldn't do anything right.  I did par the last hole so I guess I'll be back next week to punish myself some more.  BEER and chicken wrap was great last nite.

Stay frosty boyz,

Good evening all,

A late soccer report.  After Wednesday's easy game, Thursday's was a nail biter right to the end.  We won 4-3, but it should have been a lot easier.  Hopefully that was our worst game of the season.

Keep on training,

Buckeye Riveter
finally have been able to get to the forum.  So, HOW HAVE YOU ALL BEEN?

By golly Buckeye we are all JUST FINE!

You got something there....Whistling (ignoring your lack of proper punctuation - BTW it's proper use is "y'all")

Busy day today. Most of the day outdoors. Cleaned trucks, cleaned boat. Aired up tires on trucks, boat, wifes car, spares. Helped son mow lawn. Cleaned pool. Took junk to the dump. Did I mention it was a balmy 99?

Busy weekend coming up and busy week next week - vacation Beer Yes

Doug da G - good to hear you are doing well!

Fife - we will be cutting the water this coming week!

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

Jack,

I haven't had time the past few days to do anything with it.  The plenum cover that I ordered showed up, so I'll try to get that done this weekend.  I took it out in traffic monday night for about 20 miles.  I only stalled once at a light on a hill accidentally.  That worked out well though since I had a guy in a chevy pickup on my bumper for at least three miles.  After I rolled back a bit, he kept his distance.Laugh

Good evening all,

We celebrated our 7y/o son's birthday tonight even though it is not until tomorrow.  We have miniature golf, bowling, and plenty of other goofing on the agenda for tomorrow so we figured we would take care of the cake and presents tonight - he didn't seem to mind.  So, in about 90 minutes he will be officially 8.  July is a busy month for us with birthdays: as just mentioned, one boy turns 8 on the 1st; the baby boy turns 1 on the 7th; and our princess turns 10 on the 23rd.  One of my brother's birthdays is on the 7th as well.

Jack - I'm not going to gloat about how AWESOME Wow the Yankees are now playing.Whistling  We don't mind moving since we are used to it.  It's not as bad either because we can have the Air Force hire a packing/moving company for us.

Dennis - I hope you have a great time with your birthday boy this weekend.

RT and Buckeye - Congratulations on the anniversaries!  I'm sorry for missing that earlier.

SJ - I'm glad as is well with Granny.  Did you cook her dinner?

Traindood - I am very excited about watching professional Japanese baseball.  They have a lot of talent and the fans are very in to their teams.

Good night,

Joe

Mid 90's with matching humidity today.  Chiller on the west side of the plant is down for a while too - really steamy out there on the production floor.

How about those Tigers!  Might as well enjot it - all star break is fast approaching.

All for onw.

Good evening all!

Just got the bad news about a project that will tie me up for an extra 16 hours a week through the end of the year. Looking towards it though as it's a worthwhile project that is much needed. As for last night's game, it's times like these I really enjoy, because it means spending quality time with the kids and we all enjoy ourselves. We share the highes of winning and the lows of losing, you can't put a price on that. The only bad thing is that our next game is July 26 and we might go through withdraws!

HudsonJohn - When we have night games it's too hard to make a stop at Peterson's. We are all leaving straight from work and the drive is just about 1 hour and 30 min to the stadium.

RT - Let me join in wishing you "A Happy Anniversary" How many?

Buckeye - Happy Anniversay! How many? (alot of June brides?)

Traindood - I agree that money can't buy everything. If that were true we would win every year. It's nice to see teams like the Royals and Twins do well with the means they have. Smart ownership.

Night all!

Ray

Afternoon fellas and gals:     Been away at beautiful Cape May.  All had a great time.  Ate like a condemed man!  Stayed at a swell place.   Ray:  Glad you liked the photos. I will tell you the story of them if we get together sometime.  No closet fan would burn an authentic jersey, just a team i love to hate. A guy like Munson everyone loves because he played and lived with so much gusto. Hard not to admire someone like that. As for Reggie, everyone knows the Bronx bums purchase players that do well against them the year before. Although there have been a few miscues; think Pavano; how'd that work out?  Money can't BUY everything.  Oops - Sign   jefelectric;   You're a good granpa! Big Smile  Brutus;   Check out Cleveland pears, similar but much hardier  I got'em, i love 'em. Buckeye Riveter

I'm back!!! Oh, that's right nobody knew I was gone. Big Smile  Last week I flew (in an airplane for those in Roseyville, NC) to Orlando, Florida for a national conference. Returned home on Sunday and with night meetings and other activities, including a wedding anniversary, finally have been able to get to the forum.  So, HOW HAVE YOU ALL BEEN?

I heard that Doug el Grumpo had a mild heart attack but I think he is okay from the posts that followed.  Grumpo do what the doctor orders and get yourself a good looking dental hygentist.  It has worked wonders for the Chief as he recovered from just about every disease known to man except grits brain poisoning and sweet tea teeth rot. Laugh

Pat......Are you going to help celebrate my birthday next week?  Hope you make it here for ice cream and cake. Cake

Roy......I can't believe any real smart Texan would let a talented smart child go to OSU or OU.  Obviously the child is talented and smart so there is only one person to blame. Geeked

I marked a day on each week in red on the calendar for your BD.  At the end of the year I can hang it up as a Christmas decoration. By then, your weekly cake and ice cream will have me ready to play Santa Clause with out padding!Hmm

Good morning all,

Beautiful day here but hot.  Forcast is for near 100 through the weekend.  We went walking this morning in the shade of the oak trees at the park.  They have a circular walkway under the trees that is ideal for hot weather.

Jack, you're right!  I don't want to spend that kind of money on something you rarely use.

Dennis, I have been searching on line for suppliers and good prices.  Even checked Ebay but cheapest one was just under $300 each.  There is a place that will rent them to you for $50 each per week but they are located in Charlotte, North Carolina and I'm on the West coast.  However they will express ship them to you but I would still need a few days to do that.  I would like to find a place here in my neck of the woods to deal with.  Even if you own your own "extra" batteries, some airlines still require a 48 hour notice to fly with oxygen equipment.  I'm sure I could work out something for a normal vacation trip but emergency travel would be a problem.  My own oxygen equipment supplier does not handle extra batteries.  Go figure?  I did talk to someone at Southwest Airlines and they told me that if I had my own batteries and a letter from my doctor about my needs, that I could fly right away if I had to providing they had space available.  I usually fly American but Southwest is good about letting seniors go without reservation as long as they have space available.  I would feel a lot better if I had something in writing from any airline.  I would not want any surprises at the gate.

Might go look at sale on gas bar-b-Ques today.  Just have to figure out how to get one home since they don't deliver.  I'll call my buddy with a van.

DougDa, take care of yourself and listen to your warden.  The club can wait.

later,

Ray

Good afternoon everyone.  Got the news on right now and they are continuing the story of the trial for the mother of the little 2yo girl in Florida....shame.  I just wish that the media would not show this stuff and sensationalize the story.  I guess it must be a slow news week or something.

Oh, Buckeye, were you gone?  Just kidding....I thought that was you flying over our house.
Ray, you may want to check on line for a source for those batteries.  Also, you may be able to rent some batteries for any vacation/trip plans from the local medical supply place.

It is my son's birthday this weekend, so we are having a little party tomorrow and then he is getting together with some friends at Chuck-E-cheese on Saturday.  All small plans, which is how we like it.  May run some trains for the kids....we shall see.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Dennis

Mornin' All.

Very busy day yesterday, possibly too much so. Went with "the warden" for her MD appointment then both had a couple qts of blood drawn. Afterwards initiated transfer of my ER records to our "primary care" provider, in my estimation the level of care is a little bit better and almost everything is there in house. A quick visit to the grocery then home, went for a short walk after dinner last nite.

The warden has me on restriction today.

No museum tomorrow and Monday the 4th is extremely doubtful.

Later All !

p.s._Buckeye, Did you get the Trainworld LGB Sale flyer "Circus Goods Car w/sound" at a very nice price. Bet BB would love it. Yes

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable July 4th weekend.

For you dog owners out there, this is the weekend when animal control officers and local shelters experience a significant surge in lost/missing/stray dogs who become frightened and confused, and run away, even well-trained ones.  Fireworks and sometimes the frenzy of outdoor cookouts can be extremely stressful on a dog.  It is better to keep them indoors in a quiet and safe place rather than lose them.  And keep them leashed or securely confined when outside.  SoapBox

I suspect that that the Northernmost MA highways to New Hampshire will be packed this weekend with folks driving over the border to refresh their beer inventories and to avoid the Taxachusetts sales tax.  How liquor stores within 15 miles of the border in MA survive is beyond me.  Beer

DougDG.......prayers and the hope you are feeling better and are following the Doctor's orders.  Please let us know when it is OK to resume our unbridled harassment of you. Wink

SJ.......hope your better half is recovering nicely and she doesn't give you a fat lip.  Smile, Wink & Grin

RT.......happy anniversary!!!!!  What memorable gift did you get for yourself her? Wink

AF Ray........the Red Sox forgot how to hit.  What a slump!!!!  I know this turn of events must disturb you and JoeyD terribly, but I am there for you.  Laugh

JoeyD.......I hate moving, am ashamed to admit I still have unpacked boxes from a move over two decades ago.

Where is the Chief?????

RaySP.......bet you wish you had your knee done sooner.  I did with mine, more than once.  Sounds like you are going to have to spend some serious coin on that equipment.......unless you buy your own airplane and take flying lessons.

Laz.........is something wrong with your alarm clock?  Whatever happened to the tried and true credo  "Don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow."

Fife.......don't forget to polish the cannons and restock the rum inventory in the hold of your yatchet.  Pirate

V8.......did I read Rock Island?  Thumbs Up

HudsonJohn.....hope you are not on call this weekend for poer outages and telephone pole replacement oversight duties due to the unplanned meeting between the poles and some who are OUI.

Dennis.......hope your cranky back cleared up.

Chuck........I think it is high time you made a road trip and took in an Indians home game.  You deserve it.  maybe you could hook up with SJ and Charlie and catch a Tigers/Indians game.

Charlie........if you didn't take the "Creeping Charlie" comment personally, then we are not trying hard enough.  Stick out tongue

Buckeye.......are we all invited to your birthday bash next week? Whistling

Roy........my theory is that any college that is too far away for the youngsters to blast home and interrup your newfound peace is just fine.  Ask DougM.

DougM........have you dialed into the short list of a vehicle replacement?  Or is there some irreconcileable difference of opinion amongst the rest of the family?

JimmyT.......not much out of you about the Mustang GT.  Isn't it fast enough to catch Boysenberry, or are your power shifting skills still somewhat suspect?  Whistling

Banks.......with all of the work on your plate, when do you find time to relax and just do nothing?

MikeC.......got into a conversation with a couple of soccer guys the other night while waiting for a pizza.  Could not make hide nor hair of what they were talking about.  Big Smile

Later, gang!  Have a safe one!

Hello all,

A refreshing 51 degrees with bright sunshine this morning. It's TGIF for me today.I'll be in route to Pittsburgh this time tomorrow.

I'll also wish everybody a happy and safe 4th of July. I'm not sure when I may be able to check in again. Got lots of farming and yard work planned. Probably a picnic on Monday. Probably go watch Fireworks that evening.

All for now.

Prayers for those in need.

It is a cool and sunny 56 degrees. Going up to 82 today with sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I have a few chores and an errand to run. I will be busy most of the morning. Maybe a nap this afternoon. Spent some time outside, last evening, enjoying the weather.
