Ray - yes there is a fella at the TCA Meet in York that sells nothing but Military transport stuff. I have a few of his offerings and one is a Duce-n-Half. I just picked up one with a Huey on it at April's Meet. I will try and post some pics tonight and give you his contact info if I still have it.
Demay Good morning all, .......Jack - I'm glad I cleared up the pennant issue for you. Now you can stop watching baseball for the rest of the season. The Sox last night and the Yankees were postponed so they picked up a half game. Good day,Joe

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Hudson#685 Lunch Time, RI Jack, We use the Mosquito Magnet to control the skeeters along with citronella torches and yard guard. We are having an outdoor party for my son on Sunday and the propane tank is full and ready to go for the Mosquito Magnet. AF53, miss those trucks that pumped out the DDT. We used to chase it with our bikes. I wonder why I am about the only one left. The last time Doray and I went to Peterson's, it was disappointing........ Have a Great Day, John

John.........I need to get one of those propane mosquito magnets. I hear they are the best preventative.
Like you, we used to follow those DDT foggers all over the place on our bikes when I was a kid. That might explain my personality quirks. That stuff was and is the most effective insecticide ever invented.......wiped out the bugs but unfortunately the birds too. Not only was the stuff banned in the US decades ago, but I think it has been banned throughout most of the world. Sure would come in handy in the areas of the world virtually plagued by mosquito borne diseases (malaria, etc.).
green97probe Jack, I've been busy.
Jack, I've been busy.
JimmyT..........I am afraid that if Boysenberry drove past your house sans clothing in the rain, waiving wildly at you, and then you had to decide whether or not to chase her down by taking the GT out in the rain, I think she'd find herself alone no matter how many times she repeated the process.

Jack.,
What's a little water going to hurt. From what I've seen, I'd gladly get the car wet.
Hey Guys,
A quick drive by, as I'm heading to bed.
Princess arrives here on Tuesday, and leaves on the 12th. We'll investigate NYU and Mercer County College, just in case her living arraignments fall through (ie: kicked out of Mom's house...don't ask...) . She will be here for 4th of July/Parent's 57th Anniversary and her cousin (my brother USMC, Ret. and family) will be here from Okinawa.
Storms passed through about 4 PM, left work early as there was no work to be had. Multiple fire calls, which I made, wires down, alarms and the like.
John/Hudson: Congas on your son! If I could make it, I'd show up with up (hey, I'm entitled to wear my Chief's Gold!). Good Job!
Not much else going on. Just fighting the good fight...it's a draw right now....
Check ya later!

Downpours of rain this PM, Funnel clouds seen north of here. No damage reports that I've heard of. A new OGR arrived today, looks like a yawner, should go fast. Beacon is on, banilla is waiting..S.J.

Good evening all,
I didn't have much going on tonight. The older two kids have VBS all week so it has been a little quieter around the house after dinner. The baby and I ran the trains for a little while. It's now time for the wife and me to relax. The Yankees split a double-header today.
V8Vega – I’m glad you fixed your power issue and about your progress on your layout. There’s nothing wrong with utilizing your church for social outings – it’s probably a group you already have plenty in common with.
Jack – Don’t mention it.
SP Ray – AMC aired Patton during Memorial Day weekend. I’ve always enjoyed that movie. My favorite seen was when he was in the field hospital and slapped the soldier, but also showed great sincerity to the truly wounded soldiers.
Good night,
Joe
Patton is a great movie. George C. Scott was perfect It's too bad they couldn't show more battle scenes like in Private Ryan etc.
Have a good trip, Charlie.
Welcome V8 - great bunch of guys here!
Had a blizzard from Dairy King tonight, but I'll get that Tardis out and others might like some banilla. You all have a great day tomorrow!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good night all. Got opossums from Ohio. How do I know they are from Ohio? They walk into a cage trap with no food or bait in it. Anything that dumb has to be from Ohio. Just hauled off one smaller than the one this AM. Reset cage trap. We'll see if there are more Ohio opossums tomorrow AM.
Got Human Services Board [breakfast meeting] at 7:30 AM followed by a committee meeting until noon. Lunch with Count Commissioner and tour of Rolesville tomorrow afternoon. My hit the road to the lake house after that.
M14 needs some scope mount adjustment. Could not get scope adjusted to zero. Did test barrel at 300 yds. Three shots within and inch and a half [had to hold right and low]. Barrel is good.
Sleep tight.

Really nice day here. Sunny, low humidity, and low 80's.
The crazyness at work is starting to get sorted out. Things ought to ease up a bit in the near future - at least some of the time pressures will have gone away.
I've found sources for the parts I need on my EMD generator car. Not too expensive, either.
Question for you electrical types out there - what is the process that makes the fan or light difuser rotate inside the EMD generator car?
There is a coil, a rubber washer with 'nubs' on it and the metal 'can' that goes over the light. AC current runs through the coil, so there is a magnetic field that reverses 60 times a second. The changing magnetic field has the potential to induce a current in the metal can, or to produce movement by magnetic action. I'm guessing that this thing works by magnetic attraction between the coil and the can, with the rotation induced by the nubs on the rubber washer as they are compressed and released slightly.
Is this the same arrangement that was used on second generation rotating beacon?
All for now.
Ray,Here you go. http://www.gellertoytrains.com/ Couple shots of the ongoing realignment
Tried to post yesterday, but it went away. We won 3-1 last night. Lucas did well. Work goes well. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

Good morning ,
Rich, You are welcome to come tonight at the Ocean County Fire Academy in Waretown at 7.
SPMan, Ray and Brent, I know Bob Geller. He builds them locally and my son has quite a few of his pieces. Next time you order from him, you can bust on him and tell him hi from the guys at PSE&G in the Edison Garage. I know that he can fill in the blanks.
AF53, Ray, your sis said that the chili on her chilli dog was not as good as it was at "Peterson's". Too much onion.
Hello all,
Finally got caught up. Been composing post as I caught up. Here it is.
Week at beach went well. Beautiful weather. Visit to Toy Town was great. Lots of looking but no money spent. Dad did buy a Mr. Christmas Ferris Wheel to add to the Christmas Layout.
Probe, Nice car. Dad bought a new 74 Dodge pickup. Every year for the first few years and every couple years after that he sprayed the underside with a 50-50 mix of old engine oil and transmission fluid. Still have the truck and only some minor rusting in the bed. It is messy though. I bought a 74 Nova in ’81. It had rustproofing that looked like grease when I bought it. On a hot day it would ooze out of the hatchback till I sold it in ’94. Never a bit of rust on it. I agree with the crowd. Today’s vehicles don’t need it. Good luck with Boysenberry
To bad about that B-17, glad the crew is safe. A group out of Snohio brings a B-17, a B-24 and a two seat P-51 to the local airport every year. Last year as I was watching the B17 in the distance the B-24 flew directly overhead very loud and very, very low. It was an awesome experience.
RI Jack, That’s it!!
Laz, enjoy running that 1-1 train, Nice video. Thanks for sharing
D.Baker, Congratulations on kicking the habit. I gave up 2 packs a day 25 years ago. Very hard to do but the best thing I ever did.
MichRR714,, congas on the anniversary. Glad the eye is doing better Have a great trip.
Dennis, condolences on the loss of your friend
Spending less than you earn, Isn’t that a novel idea. Been doing it for years.

BOB GELLER good person to deal with. He is at the YORK meet and hails from JERSEY. Nice guy.
Stay frosty and watch your topknot,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 72 degrees. Rained again last night. Going up to 86 today with some sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have a few errands to run and the usual chores to do. Then, I can relax and maybe run trains, later.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Mornin' boys. Overcast and 78 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. First day of "stay"cation. Will take fifepup to work, then wifey clothes shopping. Fun,fun,fun...
SPMan - I have a couple of those MTH/Sherman flats. The tanks add quite a bit of heft. You can still find them.

Good Morning
64 and overcast.
Everything has that wet morning smell, reminds me of the Blue Ridge in Va. Granny is babysitting today and tomorrow so here I am all alone. Guess how will have a nap today .
Have a good one...S.J.
Morning all!
Been really busy. Got some more good rain here yesterday morning so things are better. Mid -90's forecast and it was actually very pleasent outside this AM.
Getting ready for several trips the next couple of weeks.
Have a great day all!

We have that wet morning smell here on the farm, and have had it for over a week. I think the cows are growing webs on their hooves.

Aloha from a grey and cool Crystal Lake where it continues to be a damp summer - everything is so green though! Nice to hear from V8Vega. Sounds like the layout is taking shape., Dennis. So John those Sketter magnet thingies really work? What do they spray? What does the propane power? Ray, Geller sure makes beautiful military loads.Traindood, can you say diawhatchamacallit ten times fast? I couldn't even type the real name of DDT. LOLAlways sad to prematurely take the plates off a car. Damage estimate is nearly $10K and the Yaris was only $13K new. Bet I'll hear officially next week. May have to delay the re-roofing. Ah well, good thing everyone was OK.

Thanks to Lionroar 88 for the picture of the 2 l/2 ton truck and to all for the other information re same.
Fife, what is the height of the car with tank on it? Will it fit through a 315 Bascule bridge?
Chief, I guess that is one reason why they call possums dumb. Why do possums cross the road? ans. to prove it could be done. They must be the #1 item on the menue at the road kill cafe. "From our Grill to Yours", or was that from Larry the Cable guy? Only in America! "Git er done".
Got to go to airport now and pick up #2 son returning from midwest railfanning trip.
Still having trouble with the water delivery guy. Left instructions to put one bottle on cooler in house and you guesed it, he didn't. We went out for a 20 minute walk and must have missed him--again. Had to horse that bad boy bottle onto the cooler myself, bad back and all. At least this being my regular guy he knew where to pick up the mtys. Temp guy has screwed up last two deliveries and is hopeless when it comes to learning anything. I'm going to see if I can get a deal on the smaller three gallon bottles that I can manage. If not, Adios.
I think I am becoming a grumpy old man,
Later, Ray
SPMan
Afternoon Ya'll from Dreary Taxachusetts,
At long last, we finally got a good soaking; but since rain is in the forecast for the next two days I won't be able to chop down mow the grass. I keep getting DougM and SJ's weather now. Son visiting from NJ, goes home tonight. Like RaySP, I am the livery service around these parts.
Had a wonderful birthday celebration last night over at the daughter and son-in-laws. Granddaughter #2 turned 2. Granddaughter #1 whi is 7 did not like the fact that she did not also get presents.
Banks.......prayers continue for your Mom. I was glad to hear your nephew's procedure came out OK. I love the beach as long as there is nothing to do and all day to do it. Glad your trip was enjoyable. Did your Speedo raise any eyebrows?
Charlie.......glad to hear the meds conquered the skeeter bite on Jack.
DougM........sorry to hear the post-mortem on the car. Ouch!!!! What are you thinking of acquiring to replace it? Glad to hear the bad storms passed to the South of your homestead the other day.
Brent.......as Fife would say, you sound busier than a one-armed wall paper hanger.
RaySP.......I think you are making tremendous progress with the knee. Why have you, DougDG, and Don been hiding mobster Whitey Bulger all of these years?
Rich......it sounds as if you are going to have a busy Summer with the visits from the Princess. Do your best to keep the family peace. It beats the snot out of the alternative. Rich Kissinger, has a ring to it.
Fife.....a :stay"cation. I like those, until they become the better half's opportunity to pile on the honey-do list.
Gotta run, boys.
PS: I seem to have misplaced my topknot.
Evening all.
News is not good from here. This old geezer had a heart attack on monday. Gotta run, later all.
