Howdy guys - well it's about 80 here, but very little breeze. I got home and mowed the back hill with the old push mower. New wheel was binding a little at first, but it evened out. Then I did the front and sides with the riding mower. I keep making small adjustments to it, but it's getting easier to steer it. I need to clean off really well, but not while the engine is hot. I'm pretty careful with it and follow the instructions etc. I did get the front end stuck because the rear wheels were spinning in mud a couple weeks ago, which was pretty silly. We're going to get some landscaping done next year so I need to cut out all that brush down in the trees and get that hauled away this Fall. I intend to get 2 retaining walls put in to take out the slope on the back hill and that will make this mower really and I really happy
Prayers for knees, moms, nephews, families, and insurance payments.
Thanks - Char is really happy and we're just relieved that things seem to be getting better at a steady pace now. Really an answer to prayers!
I still need to make a video of that Dewitt Clinton running on my dining room table "layout" for you guys I also need to get an envelope to send a dvd I made to Doug, but I keep forgetting. Working OT tomorrow, but only 5 hours. Then we're going to New Balance to look at shoes. A little plumbing this weekend, just to add threaded ends to a couple pipes, and then some insulation and drywall and another wall will be done. Closer and closer to building a layout!
TARDIS is ready and we have a whole freezer full of skinny kows and Klondike Bars and pops. Banilla of course! Plus some Old Mills, Sam Adams, Blue Moon, and Fat Tire beers for those who would care to partake and/or wet their whistles
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good evening everyone. Been very busy, will elaborate later. Had a very nice dinner...shrimp and grits! Was like a jambalaya over grits. Have to get to bed soon as it will be a early morning.
Doug-not-a-grump, Watch it there big fella! Heart attack is nothing to take lightly. Good news is that you have a second lease on life. Unfortunately, some of the biggest factors in folks having heart disease are not what we can control, ie: family genetics. However, the things we can control are our own responsibility. Diet, exercise, smoking, etc., need to be done if you are predisposed to HD. I will keep you in my prayers.
Brutus, great news on Char. Let's keep the prayer chain up and keep those bumps in the road to as few as possible.
John, sorry for the loss of the Sgt. I will pray for his family and friends. I try to keep all our troops in my prayers as we owe them our freedom.
Before I go, I heard from Bob M., he is doing well. Things are keeping him away from the forum for a little bit, but he says "Hello". Good guy and I look forward to seeing him back on here soon. One thing about when I can't get on here for a few days...I really miss it. I consider the group here as my friends and look forward to catching up with Y'all....even the ones from Ohio!
Take care and God Bless,
Dennis

Just catching up on the latest "not so great news" from Sandy Eggo -- dang! Get well as best you can as Sharyl and I have at least one more trip to your museum and we EXPECT to see you and your buds welcome us again.
Our BEST to you and a complete recovery!

DougW,
Banks,
Here is the link. Was it for sale? I could find Debbie and Rich's number if you'd like to call them about it.

I finally made time to get down to the layout a few nights ago. Ran the Aerotrain for a while, then moved over to the PW Lionel layout. I need to get more work done on both of them. Haven't had the time or energy since I started working full time, but then again, I am certainly not complaining. I love everything about my job.
What free time I've had, I've spent on the Mustang. So far, I've replaced the stock 29" antenna with an 8" and I have a set of direct fit (no drilling needed) splashguards waiting to be installed. Next up will be to replace the missing plenum cover that should have been on the car since it has the GT Appearance Package. Then, I'll move into the interior to dress it up tastefully. I am not worried about performance mods just yet.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear and sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 82 today with sunshine. No rain.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of chores to do. Nascar race. Ballgame tonite. Maybe a nap in there someplace.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.

Hi GUYZ,
Well got done all weeding and dug up grass around 4 pine trees, now ready to mulch this afternoon. Then going trout fishing with BRO at 430 til dark then have a fire and eat.
TRAINDOOD, love the small brewerys. PA had lots of em, especially in the coal region where I grew up. Seemed like every little town here brewed there own beer. Some of the names were Kaires, Gibbons, Stegmaier, Columbia, Hazleton Pilsner to name a few. All good and best of all cheap. Aw those were the days.
JACK, sounded like a smart idear with the GOLF. Maybe I should do the same but then what would I do with my Thursdays?
Stay frosty and watch your topknot,

Home for a short stay. Dakotas, send me that water. DRY!!! Running soakers. No grass to mow. Too dry. Had showers all around.
Big surprise. NC Dept. of Revenue sent me a big refund check saying I still over paid my State taxes. My CPA does not make mistakes. ????? Will deposit it but bet they will suddenly say they want it back.
Later.

Good morning all,
Had a nice breakfast today consisting of bacon, eggs and grits with toast and coffee. This is my once a week egg allowance. I usually use egg beaters. Went for a walk before breakfast and did 25 minutes today. Knee is doing good.
More problems with Verizon FIOS. A few days ago we had a power failure. When this happens, FIOS has a back up battery to keep your phones etc working until the power comes on again. However, unbeknown to me, the battery has to be reset. Otherwise it will put out an alarm beep about every 15 minutes. It doesn't bother me because my hearing is bad and I can't hear it anyway. They installed the controll box for this thing in the attic making it very difficult at my age to get to. I have to get a better ladder to get up there. My son will do it when he is around. Verizon is supposed to come today and fix it. Modern technologly is wonderful until it breaks down. The tech was going to call me 30 minutes before arrival but can't call my regular telephone number with the kind of device he has. Huh! I just told them don't bother and I will be here so don't worry about it.
DougDagrump, hope you are doing OK.

Aloha. Hit five dealerships this am with the family. Bride has her likes and dislikes. I just like 'inexpensive' to buy and 'cheap' to operate. Like Jack's dad says, anything you walk away from is a relief. Dennis, I'm with you about missing the forum. Hope Doug is doing well this morning.

Many many thanks for the s. It appears that my problem could have been much worse had not all the protocols been followed, original hospital was already backed-up so I was re-routed to a different hospital a little farther away. Fortunately they could change the data transmitter so all my info was already there when we rolled-up to the emergency room door. I was in emergency just long enuff to throw a gown over me as they stripped off the clothes and wisked me off to the cath lab. Two big blockages and a really nasty clot later, I'm in my room with all these cute and very young nurses coming by to check vitals and make sure the incision shows no distress. The whole crew from the first responders to the ER staff, Thank You. We are still in the woods so to speak with adjustments/changes the meds I have to take, hopefully it won't take to long to get all balanced. The better-half was scared to death when she received notification, to the point of running out the door to the hospital w/o her purse. We have a good bunch of neighbors here, since I was home alone when all this went down, the neighbors made sure the house was secured and my hand tools secured and checked to make sure my better half knew where to find me. Looks as though that there will be some significant restrictions for awhile, think the dietary changes will be the hardest.
Thanks Guys !
p.s._I'll try to keep ya'll updated but sometimes I'm still a bit goofy.

Doug.... Good to hear from you. You sound pretty good. Do what they say and you'll be fine. I have been on a salt free diet. It's hard to get used to.
My wife still reminds me how badly I scared her. Usually when she's mad at me.
You take care, Doug. Our prayers are with you.
Doug it sounds like your in good hands, glad you made it.
A sun/cloud day with temps in the 70s. We went to the grad party, ate, talked, left envelope and came home. Banilla is ready for the thingy...S.J.
Doug - many prayers for you and your wife! It sounds like things are going the right way and I pray God will guide your doctors and those hot nurses to give you the best "Dennis Approved" care and for healing! I'm going to send you a PM and also an Email - if you don't get one, then please contact me!
Not much going on here - worked my 5 OT and then was shanghaied by my wife to go shopping, so no house work done today. We did get new shoes and looked for a bench for the end of the bed, but no luck on that.
Hope RT is feeling better too! Good luck on the car seach, Doug.
Big storm here now so running on batteries, but hope to get the TARDIS going shortly!
Good evening everyone. Had a very nice day and lots of stuff added to the cabbage! I will explain more later. Met up with a brainiac from CA today. He is a MD/PhD, Professor, Chief of Cardiac Anesthesiology, Director of Interventional Cardiology Operations, Director of Peri-operative Echo cardiology at Ronald Reagan Medical Center. I am looking at some added responsibilities at my hospital and was impressed with this guy's accomplishments. I have done plenty of research over the years and since we are now teaching the medical students, I want to make sure we impart the knowledge base in the most effective, meaningful way.
Doug, glad they were able to take care of you with the stents. Make sure you take your Plavix and don't let anyone pinch you (you'll have a bruise for a long time!) Depending on the closure device they used at the access point, you may need to watch any motion with your leg, or arm, if they did it brachially. Don't over-do things! We have a tendency that since we are feeling better, we can handle a little work....wrong!, you need to relax and work up to things at the pace they will tell you. Lastly, any questions you may have, I will gladly help with, or, better yet, ask your cardiologist as they will have all your information. Some things like Beta Blockers have some side effects that you will want to discuss if you are put on them.
DougM., hope your vehicle shopping goes well. We have a friend from church who we put a request in and he picks us up whatever we want at $300 over his cost. It is well worth it and he buys through his dealership. Our Honda Odyssey only cost $16K. I am sure with all your connections, you have someone who can steer you towards a good deal on something that fits the bill for the family. You may also want to look at something with the back-up camera for new drivers.
Well, gotta run. I have an early morning and a long day.God Bless,Dennis
Hello all,
Doug Great to hear from you. Sounds like you were being watched over.
cnw1995, good luck an the car hunt
Probe, thanks for the photo. My dad wanted to buy the Merry Go Round but the only had the one in the window so he got the Ferris Wheel. I thought I'd get him the Merry Go Round online. never knew there were so many Merry Go Rounds (carousel) by Mr Christmas. I wanted to look at the one in the window again to get an Idea of the one to get.. If I don't get one online I'll check Toy Town the last week of July when we'll return to da Beach.
Mrs & I had a fire on the deck this evening. Cooked some bacon ends and sausage links YUMMMMMMMM Now I'm relaxing with a glass of wine while she heads o bed.
I'm going to join her as I need to be left before 7:00 for the Hill Climb

Hi All,
Doug Da, Prayers for you and all the caregivers. Except for a slight mumor (sp?), the rest of my vitals are ok. BUT I need to change my eating habits also. Hang in there. Your family including this forum family need your expertise advice.
Doug Murphy and others, My son works for Ford and through the friends and family program you can get most Ford vehicles for 2 percent above dealer cost.
Prayers for those in need especially those "IN HARMS WAY" !

Today is an easy day. I plan to relax after a few chores. Maybe run trains, later. Nascar race and ballgame today.
Dining car is here. Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Mornin' boys. Uhhh, dougnotta, your little gown thingie is showing in the back...
After working yesterday on marine patrol, I actually can start my stay-cation proper now. Kicked it off with cards with the neighbor boys, and it wasn't my night. Perhaps the pool today.
cnw1995 - Perhaps Green Probe can have his salesman call you.
DougDG,
I'm glad to hear that things are headed in the right direction. It was a long wait between your first post and then the much better news yesterday. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Good morning
Low 80s today.
A perfect day for a church picnic. Yep that's what we will be doing this afternoon. A nice chat with Brutus last night and some time with Charlie as well..S.J.
DOUGDAGRUMP, glad to hear things are getting better. As DENNIS stated PACE YOURSELF, on the road back. Sounds like you have quite a bit of friends to help you on your way. You are in my prayers.
Yesterday after spreading out 5 scoops of mulch in 3 hrs. Bro and I went TROUT FISHIN for 3 hrs. We caught and released 17, mostly rainbows and a few browns. Came home had a nice fire ate dogs and sausages, slept well last nite. Today gonna take a bike ride on Mt. bike and take my pup to the river to fetch some sticks.
Good morning all! Beautiful Sunday with temps in the mid 70's now going to the low 80's and low humidity.
Not much going on today just a graduation party for my nephew at HudsonJohn's house today!! Looking at some nice 1920's cars on ebay today keeping my fingers crossed. Later this week on Tuesday is my wife's birthday and it will be her choice for dinner. She always chooses to go to Stewarts and have 2 pizza burgers (one of them to go). But I think this year she's leaning towards Olive Garden. Oh well, whatever.
HudsonJohn - I'll take mine medium rare with cheese, and a hot dog later without the chili sauce, just spicey brown mustard and a Beck's or two.
RT - So.... humans eating grits is like dogs eating grass????
Dennis - Thanks for the update on Bob. Glad all is ok.
Jim - Good to hear that the job is going so well, hard work always pays off!
DougM - I'm with you and Dennis, I may not post each day by but a day without catching up on the forum is like going to work without your watch on.
Enjoy the day!

Dougdagrump, very glad to see your post. That's a good sign. Do what they tell you and keep in touch.
A lady in our church social group had some bad news in an E mail sent to us yesterday. She just had some diagnostic work done and it was not good. She is scheduled now for a double mastectomy and needs more chemo for another cancer. She needs a lot of prayer.
Hooray! Verizon solved my FIOS problem yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised that they not only came when they said they would but were actually early. They put in a brand new back up battery for the system that was faulty. They even made a follow up call later in the day to make sure everything was still working O.K. Kind of restores my faith in American business.
Went for walk in the park this morning. Not too many people were out yet on Sunday morning. We have to get ready for church at 11:30AM.
Invited to authentic Mexican cook out on July 2 by friends of ours. They make homemade carnitas every year about this time. Probably doing it on the 2nd so we can have a couple of days to recover for those who have to go back to work.
Went out to dinner with friends last night and had large fried butterfly shrimp dinner. It was yummy! Friend's wife was the one who has chronic pain in the shoulder and neck after failed surgery but yesterday she was having one of her rare good days. Thank the Lord for his blessings.
Two of our associate priest have left us for new assignments. We are due to get one new associate but don't know if he has arrived yet. Meantime the old pastor will be doing double duty I guess or maybe get some help from visiting priest..
Have a blessed Sunday,
Afternoon all. Sunday School and a nap. Now out into the garden. Then get a small load of mulch in back of pickup [from Town's tornado mulch pile] to haul to lake house. Headed that way for the rest of the week and weekend. May come home Wednesday to check garden. Wifey has to stay and work her new job [helps keep me up ].
Oh, I hear Bob [who has been missing for a few weeks] is doing fine. He'll be joining us soon.
Have fun.
