Howdy guys - sorry to hear about Charlie being stuck at the airport
Good luck with the move, Joe - sounds exciting! I think that part of Japan uses 60 Hz AC power, like the US. But, I read that part of Japan uses 50 Hz power?
Bad storms early this morning until late morning, but no damage around us. Tomorrow my work buddy Dave is having a retirement party. We'll go to Landry's and have some seafood. Meanwhile, American Idol is doing their thing about 500 feet away - hope it's not too crowded!
I stopped tonight and got a cutoff valve, elbow, flux brushes, and some other odds and ends. I need to move the cutoff for the outside spigot as it's currently right where my layout will be - don't want any leaks on the layout!
TARDIS is ready and we have an inflight movie tonight - Lover Come Back with Doris Day and Rock Hudson
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Very muggy weather. Scrambling to get our own house in order to host wife's brother and part of his family this weekend. There is so much more to this story, but I do not have the 10 hours it would take to tell..... US plays today in Germany. Should be national holiday, but.... Work could have been better yesterday, but will be better today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 72 degrees. Humid. Big storms again last night. Going up to 82 today with more rain. This summer is not very nice.
Today is a busy day. Dog goes to groomers and wife to hairdresser. I have chores to do and a bunch of paperwork. Maybe a nap this afternoon.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
Hello all,
Cloudy with the threat of rain here (much needed) and 67 degrees. We've had many cloudy yucky days without much rain.
Got some yard work done last night while son started to combine. Got the bin full on one round (a bumper crop if the average stays up) then a drive chain broke.............
Got to take Mom to Pittsburgh for her first treatment on Friday.
8N, I'd recommend a strong application of 2 4 D it's a broad leaf herbicide that works well. I apply it once every couple of years when the dandelions start to crowd out the grass. It kills every thing but grass so be careful around the shrubs and flowers. One time I applied Weed & Feed. It killed most of the weeds but on the down side the grass grew like he**. I wasted all summer cutting grass. I last time I'll put fertilizer on the lawn.
Hudson, over the years I've gotten my best Ebay bargains in the summertime. Seems like there isn't as many buyers looking then.
Cnw1995, I agree on the Escape, my DIL has one.
SS fund is calling

Good morning
Sun and low 80s today, just right, no A/C, open windows. After all the spring rain, just as I thought less than an inch so far for June. Didn't like the thinghy movie last nite so I livened things up with some loop-D-loops. No breakfast yet, grannys doing windows.

Aloha. Sunny and nice - for my walk later this am across the city to the Apple store. Have to pick up a few items for bosses that won't wait. I think they hate to see me show up with my tax-exempt letter . Thanks for the small SUV recommendations! More to look at this week. The Escapes offered so far are too much $. The Kia Sorento looks nice. And it's made in GA. One of our cats wreaked havoc on the layout last night so I'll have things to fix this week.

Good Mornin Ya'll From Hazy Taxachusetts,
Open windows and the use of the whole house fan were the order of the day and evening yesterday. This AM woke up and the humidity outdoors was 91%, 57% indoors. So the wife turned on the A/C to cut the moisture, even though the indoor temp was a comfortable 72 degrees. Then she got cold, turned it off. Windows are back topen and the fan is on again. May hit 79 today near the coast, same for the next week, hotter inland. Rain will make an appearance on and off.
DougM.......those side-by-side "same class' vehicle comparisons that have the prices, features, and technical specs are great. So are the JD Powers quality rankings, Edmunds articles, Consumers Reports annual buying guides (new and pre-owned, buy at bookstore) and reliability summaries, and the long-term vehicle tests the car magazines post on line. That is how I narrow down my search before actually going out shopping. Then I go dealer to dealer to test drive the heck out of the finalists. So often the write-ups and the comarisons can only go so far. Driving as you/we would drive shakes out the guesswork. More than once our pre-shopping #1 pick turned out to NOT meet our wants and needs after we had it out on the road.
8N.......I use the Scotts (products) website to bone up and cure whatever ails my lawn. We have dogs and grandkids, so I need a tough, drought resistant lawn that can hold up and yet look good. Banks is right. Misuse a product and the wife will be all over you to "fix" what you accidentally killed. You want a lawn-safe product that selectively annihilates what you are trying to eradicate. Read the directions thoroughly, before you apply. I use Scotts Turfbuiler Plus 2 on the weeds, including the clover. You can also buy Ortho Weed-B-Gon liquid to use with a garden hose if you don't have too much to treat or want to just spot treat. Properly applied once, both take about two weeks before the clover and weeds are gonzo.
Later, gang!!!!
RI I'm affraid to use any of those products as if I didn't have weeds I think my yard would be dirt I do need to do something with it thou in the future but for now I'll keep my weeds lol. Did put some grass seed down last year and probably will again this year but for weed killer think i need to hold off lol. and if I put something like turf builder the weeds would go crazy lol.
Relaxing again today. About to take wife out shopping her birthday so guess we need to do what she wants talk to you all later.

Lunch Time,
Busy day with a lot of activity. A mix of everything.
SPMan, Ray, Prayers for your neighbor.
Doug, I totally agree with Jim and banks about the Escapes. My son in law has a 2005 with over 150,000 mi and virtually trouble free. We have them in the fleet with way over 150,000 miles and they have been great. Since 2007, we have been buying Escape Hybrids and they are rated by us as about the best vehicles that we have had. Too bad that they are out of the price range.
AF53: Go for it. Just ship it to the secret drop off point.
Brutus, Charlie should not have took the bargain "Goofy Barnstormin" airline flight.
Mike C, Enjoy your Brother in Law and his family's company.
Chuck: Even i know better than to mention "dog going to groomer and wife going to hairdresser" in the same sentence. That is the recipe for trouble.
Banks: Good luck with Mom's treatment. May it go easy. The broken chain sounds like something that would happen here. I agree with the better train bargains in the summer.
Traindood, A beautiful Jersey Summer Day. The look on Ray's face when he opened it was priceless. Thanks.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.
Everyone enjoy the day.
John
I made it home from WDW. Kids enjoyed and I am tired but at the office. Finally hit my pillow at about 3:30 am. Took Delta 2 hours to unload and get the luggage on the carousel. I sent the kids and wife home at 1:30 and caught a second car home with the luggage.
She makes it all worthwhile!

RT..........the lawn-safe weed control products kill the weeds, and they won't be there any more to grow and to propagate. The grass will then fill in the thin and the bare spots, no need to reseed. A thick healthy lawn actually chokes weeds out, even if your neighbors' weed seeds blow into your yard.
Banks.........prayers continue for your Mom's successful therapy.
Charlie.......blow that one up and frame it!!!!!!!!! Priceless. Guess she gets her good looks from her Mom.
Just got home from work early and we are heading over to Olive Garden for wifey's birthday. I will be bringing a fire extinguisher for the cake (just in case).
V8Vega - This morning I paid $3.45 at WaWa. Seems to be going down (must be an election coming up).
HudsonJohn - I had you in mind already, and with extra funds coming in I can start the hunt!

Hi GUYZ,
Busy day working on the railroad at The PIONEER TUNNEL. Had about 170 people riding the rails today. Day started out fine with me getting the Lokie fired up and bringing her out and getting everything hooked up and working properly. We had 3 trips right in a row and all was well. On fourth trip pressure started to drop because of increased humidity. I had to run blower most of afternoon to keep about 80-90 lbs pressure. Was tricky but managed to do so. Worked up a fine sweat too. Learned a lot about humidity and steam pressur today.
MITCH can she sing the M I C K E Y Tune? Nice pic hope you had some fun?
Stay frosty and watch your topknot,

Good Evening
78 today but windy.
Good that Charlie finally got home, it looked like the mouse was going to keep him there. Banilla is ready, still got headache so no loop-D-loops tonight...S.J.
Mich glad you all got home safe even thou you had an ordeal getting the flight home and then with your luggage. glad shes happy she sure looks it.
Well wife happy ended night at auction house and she got a few things so shes happy.
Not much going on here tonight will talk to you all later.
Charlie, That's one sweet little mouse you have there.
Had a nice day at the PA RR Museum, nice crowd and met a lot of interesting people. The Reading Technical and Historical Society started their set up of the huge HO layout today. Reading Days start tomorrow and run through Sunday. If your in the area do stop in, you will find it worth your time. I will be there again tomorrow. Weather is supposed to be nice so I will be out in the Yard except when I'm checking out the Reading layout.
Enjoy your trains,
Happy Birthday to RT's wife and tomorrow is their anniversary
Went to Landry's Seafood place for lunch today - party for my friend who is retiring this week. It's over at Saint Louis Union Station, about 250 feet from where I work. The blackened broiled catfish was pretty good. Then for dinner we had Italian and I had a big chunk of lasagna. I think I"ll have some TUMS for desert, lol!
The in-flight movie tonight is North to Alaska with a 3 Stooges short and a Heckyl and Jeckyl cartoon. All Aboard!
USA! USA! USA! Women's team starts slow, but finishes strong in a hard fought match with North Korea and notches a 2-0 win. A win over Columbia will advance them to the next round. IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 80s. Low humidity means perfect weather for the game tonight. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". Been reading some of the tweets by 78Porkchop and ROFLMAO. They are hilarious. TBIL after the game and I will bring the adult beverages. I hope everyone has a good day.
Sunny and 63 here this morning.
Yard work, unloaded three loads of hay and worked on the combine last night. More problems. Need to rob parts from the older one we have. Basically make one from two.
MichRR714, cute kid. enjoy while you can. One of my biggest regrets is not spending enough time with my kids.
SS fund calls
It is a sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 84 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have some chores to do and some paperwork. I plan to take a nap, later. Not much new here.
Indians loss last night was a shame. Pitcher was the only guy playing baseball.
Dining car is here with the usual for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Up at 0500 this morning. Took dog for a mile walk then ran a 3.25 miler, real nice running weather this morning. I have to transplant kolorhobi this morning then have a dentist appoinment this afternoon. Then bike ride later.

Good afternoon everyone. Just a quick stop over as I have to head to daughter's ballet summer class to bring her on a daddy/daughter lunch date. Doug, the KIA plant is up in Lagrange, GA, just up from my FIL. they have a good number of jobs up that way.
Laz, took a look at the video you posted on the Hudson. Tis a nice piece for sure. Have to wait till SWMBO has made a pricey purchase that I can pick one up and say "well, this is my purchase, just like .... Was yours", and then I get hit, and recover to run the hudson!
Better run. Continued prayers for DougDG, Bob, Chief, etc.God Bless,Dennis

Brutus, Sorry i missed the flight. The movie, 3 stooges and H&K. Favs of mine.
SJ, I hope that Granny's Blood Blisterturns out to be nothing.
Like SJ said, Get Back to Work.
Thanks again folks for all the support. We will not pack up our house until the end of August so I will have two full months unfettered access to the Pot. After that it will be spotty for a couple of months as we transition to Japan. For now, work and life continue as planned.
Fife – Yes, I would agree that Tokyo will be more exciting than Enid. I’ll keep an eye out for oversized lizards – and moths.
Dennis – Thanks for the kind words and the support. My family fully supports what I do and loves to travel and see new things so that makes it easier on me. Also, my wife was active duty for seven years herself so she knows what to expect. I’d appreciate a copy of the DVD if you can spare one.
DougM – Are your friends railfans or model railroaders?
Mike C. – We all know why the US ladies won that game against N. Korea…
Good day,
Joe
Afternoon all!
Son and I had a great trip to OU and OSU (O = Oklahoma, for Buckeye so he does not get too excited). He likes OU a lot. Very nice campus as was OSU's.
Not much time to chat and certainly behind.
Later - have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Roy,
I wish I would have know you were in the area. OSU is only a 50-minute drive for me. OU is a about 90 minutes.

Was it the inanimate scenery or the bipedal scenery that he found more impressive?
