Lunch Time,

Good day so far. Beautiful and sunny, rain later.

Probe, good luck on the job.

Jack, we are talking about burger night. Great Idea.

School ended last night. The guys want to have class until September at my house. A few just come to class (Auto Body II, all shop work on your own project) to socialize. I have a few for 18 years.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Back to work,

John

Jack, the burger night sounded great!  I don't think the Pat and Ray cooking show could top that.

Going for MRI on Thursday to check out the possible torn cartilage in left knee.  The more I talk to people, the more common this problem seems.  Went to gastrointerologist yesterday for regular visit.  Sometimes I wonder what good this doctor is doing.  I get the feeling that there is not much more that he can do with my G. I. problems.  Anyway, I am holding my own with that ailment.

NS WBB executive F3 units due today via UPS.  AA from Marty, the B unit from E Bay.  I need to start packing up some trains that I don't run much to make room for the new ones.  Would sell some but the market seems real soft right now.  I had a brand new in the box Railking trestle set which I had to literally give away to get rid of it.

Probably be a lot of talk now about where is Osama after the burial at sea.  A lot of conspiracy theories are bound to pop up by all the crazies.  As far as I can tell from what i read, he is gone and good riddance.  Sounds like the U.S. was lucky with those bad order helicopters.  Remember the same problem when Carter tried to rescue Iranian hostages?  I guess some heads will roll over this.

Hot weather this week with 91 predicted today.

Good day all,

Ray

Good afternoon all,

IIARDISEI with temps in the 50s. The sun is teasing us with some peeks but that is all.  I did very little today.  We voted.  It was a local primary which did not have a big turnout, but I figured it was a way to honor our brave soldiers who did so well lately in Pakistan.  One good thing is that it is the month of May, which means all meaningful conversation turns to 16th and Georgetown at IMS.  Even though the track does not open until the 14th, there will be other activities as well, such as the Mini.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL and I can drive after Glee.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening

48 and gloomy all day.

Well I did go to Krogers but just bought what I went after except a cooked chicken we had for supper.  The lady was just taking them out of the rotatory thingy so they were fresh cooked and still hot. I have had my banilla but there is enough for the Tardis trip tonight....S.J.

I could add Bills Baking class seeing I'm actually a scratch baker. But haven't done it in about 6 years. ( commercially)

evening all not a lot going on. It looks like my standard gauge shelf/ceiling layout will have and O gauge layout in front of it also as the boards are wide enough for me to do both if I do it right. be a good place if my passenger cars don't swing to much to put them as it will look nice having them run on the 14' X 16' layout up there I guess behind my Williams Trainmaster I do have O-42 track and the Standard gauge is O-44 so it can work even if I have to shorten the straight aways a little for it to work.

Sunny and about 60 today.  Frost warnings last night and tonight, though.

Trying day at work.  Broken machinery, not enough people, even getting a local vendor overloaded with overflow work.  Oh well.  Things like this keep life interesting!  Keep plugging along to get through it.

My wife is increasing her schedule of 'social therapy'.  Was out playing cards yesterday, baked stuff for a meeting and a bake sale today, even re-started her water exercise today.

No train activity.

All for now.

Good evening all,

The weather was very comfortable today.  I had a nice run this morning before the gnats came out, but I need to pick up some bug repellant to wear the rest of the day.  These gnats are eating me alive.  Today's training sessions went well and my fellow coaches and I went out for some BBQ, which was very good.  I prepared some work for tomorrow and now it is time for bed.

CNW - Thanks for sharing the video.

AF53 Ray - I know the game was in Detroit, but you should have gone to it somehow - CC needed you there.Sigh

Good night,

DougM,

Did you hear about this accident?  That had to be scary.  Why 11 would pile into an SUV is beyond me.

Thanks for the well wishes on the interview.  I am really excited for this one.  I was going to get pics and video of the 155 Ringing Signal today, but ended up cleaning the Sunfire instead.  First time it has been washed since fall, and I also waxed it and cleaned the interior.  Hopefully the interview is a sucess so that I can quit worrying about the rust growing on the inside of the bottom of both doors.  Tried to stop it but it came back.

BUSY DAY!!!!!! Drove to neighboring town and took Lucy and Finn for grooming. Planted some more garden and then went to Town Hall to handle a thing.  Left there and drove to the lake house and mowed grass [had to mow it twice as so tall]..  Mowed my buddy's too.  Rushed back to pickup Lucy and Finn.  Came home and painted some in new bathroom.  Installed the light fixture part of the exhaust fan.  Now for some popcorn and gingerale.  Up early tomorrow for a ribbon cutting.  Suppose to rain tonight,

Sleep tight.

Well we are closing in on the crane project. The structural part is done and the light has been installed. Tomorrow morning I have to wire it in and finish up a few more odds and ends and then we should be good to go.

Tonight the weather is good and we are open for business. Going back home tomorrow and it will be a long day. Still working on getting a radio working for the garage. Even though I collect and repair radios it would seem I've given all the working ones awayTongue Tied I have one AM/FM set that's ready except for that the speaker needs reconing. It not exactly easy to find replacement speakers for these antiques.

DougM - didn't know they ran 'em backwards that fast

Good morning all,

Perhaps a couple of dry days before more rain hits SE Indiana.  Worked on dad's financial stuff.  Got some head scratchers on the checking account and some odd numbers on our own telephone bill.  Will have to do some calling today.  Go figure.  Regular fare on the dining car.  TBIL anytime as soccer will not occur tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all,

Late night at work last night and another today. Busy days and long nights make for one tired boy so I was in bed by 10:00.  Up again at 5:00 to do it all over again.  No time for trains last night or even the yard work which I need to get to. Raining this AM, hope it clears so I can mow tonight.

Jim T/Green Probe - good luck with the job interview. Hope it works out.

DougM - Trainz Simulator?  What platform are you running it on? Keep hoping for something on the iPad but nothing the last time I looked.

Chief - Was watching Food Network and saw some righteous looking Shrimp and Grits on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. The guy cooked the grits for like an hour and a half, obviously not instant grits.  Might have to look for the recipe and try it.

Mike C - would love to go to the 500 some day and take my Dad, but he's getting too cranky and hates crowds anymore.

Take care.

Hi GUYZ,

46 and arainy day again.  Not to much going on.

CHUCK, I'm with you on the grocery items.  Even our Breakfast of Champions cereal CHEERIOS.  I thought the box looked the same until I saw the thickness, WOW they shrank it down about 3/4 of an inch.  Not to mention coffee?

Stay frosty,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 42 degrees. Rained last night. Going up to 58 today with , maybe, some sunshine. This rain is a pain.

Today is a busy day. I have a project to do and then some errands to run. The usual chores and I am done. I will need a nap.

LAZ.....Yes, Cheerios was $3.68 for 20 oz. Now it is $3.68 for 16 oz., in a smaller box. Also, Folger's coffee used to be $5.99 for the big can. Now it is $9.20. And the price of gas is affecting everything. Super Angry

Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good Morning

41/50s today

I had a real short visit with the guys last night, tired, just wanted to go to bed. We have our annual eye checkups this afternoon and the 2 main roads between us and them are completely closed for construction. It takes a college education to do things that way. One of the two was closed all summer last year in a different spot, wow they couldn't figure out how to do both projects at the same time I guess...S.J.

Aloha. Cold and grey. Feels more like March. Lotsa meetings today. Bride and youngest both home sick.
Mitch, Trainz has a 'free' sim version for the iPad too now - go get it! I've been running commuter trains - all diesels or electrics in the BR era... Big Smile
Jim, that was a bad accident - the SUV was full of folks returning from the bars - it was 230 am. Sad Another accident put a cab through my favorite Dunkin Donuts in the Loop yesterday.
8n
, I must partake of this social therapy. Does it include drinks? Smile
Jim, I think a Circus Train makes an outstanding Mother's Day gift. What are you then going to get your wife?
Bob, that particular Metra scoot used to be double-headed.  Did you see the old cars?  The speed limit was 79 mph until a bus crash a few towns down-line. Then the pols lowered it to 55 mph to make themselves feel better. As if being hit by a train at either speed made a difference. Tongue Tied  I'm just glad I could post something. Can't figure out photo postings...

Lunch Time,

Rainy, Cold Day.

Back from my trip to Irvington. Nice safe trip.

Doug, I cringe when I get called out with the Fire Dept at 2:30am for a MVA. It is not good. Do not feel bad, I can not figure out the photo settings either.

Have a great day,

Mornin' All.

Gonna be another hot-one today, 95* yesterday but at least we didn't have the horrendous winds like monday.

Ray, It's my understanding that the 18' walls created airflow issues and the rotors lost their lift. Result, things that go bump in the night.

RT, "Bill's Bodacious Bakery".

Phish, Circus Train sounds good, wonder what the protosounds are on the MTH E3 Circus train. Regarding all the rain you've been getting, my sister still lives out by the Cinncy Airport and she has been trying for over two months to get a sewer line replaced. The ground just hasn't had a chance to dry enuff for backhoe work.

8n, Proverbial 10#'s in a 5# bag, S.O.P. Hmm, water therapy. If that includes scotch count me in. Embarrassed

Mike C, As well as others, keep close tabs on the phonebill. Watch for "secondary billings" for some scammers in Fl. Tried to ding us for some phoney "Fax Security Crap", call your provider and have your account set to where you "Do Not Accept Secondary Charges" .

Mitch, Your father sounds like me. Grumpy

Sir J, Sounds like your road crews have taken lessons from CalTrans, hope their spending habits aren't the same. I'll have to take a picture and post it of our $10M "footbridge" sometime, plus the fact that within one year it required some major rework. Apparently the soil tests on one end weren't correct and it started to lean into the lake. Whistling

Doug M, Speed limit is one thing but the so called "quiet zones" are nuts, must'nt disturb the tourists or residents. Hope the sirens don't wake them when someone has to come out and scrape up the drunks & druggies that end up geting run down.

Procrastinated enuff, gotta get moving.

Later.

What's new on the BBQ/ Grilling show with Jon & Buckeye? Rummer has it that Jack's Grilled Hamburgers are joining the show! Pat and Ray's Cooking Show may try to out bid you for Jack's Grilled Hamburgers.

Chief - Did you find the wheelbarrow in the tall grass (Remember, you may be a redneck gardener is you mow your grass and find a wheelbarrow)?

LAZ , Chuck and Others - Anyone need an explanation for gas, Cheerios, coffee, Etc. going up in leaps and bounds? If needed, I will try to explain without getting political (may not be possible).

Afternoon fellas and gals:     Hey Pat; the reason our gov't says inflation is low is because the eggheads runnin' the numbers there don't include food or fuel!!   Talk about cookin' the books!  Since we are on my favorite subject, cookin', eatin' and er, drinkin'; due to damp, chilly weather here, wifey has made fresh pot of lentil soup with plenty of veggies.   Dinner    Some italian bread, a bottle of vino, who knows, maybe i'll get lucky?   Not likely  though since my house is like Grand Central Station.  I should put in a turnstile and make a few bucks!    Laugh     later.

Pat and Ray.......how do we get on the "Pat and Ray Cooking Show?"  Do we have to send you money, celebrate Buckeye's birthday twice as much, or sign anything, like an allegiance to grits?

Good afternoon ya'll from now-raining Taxachusetts.  Two plus days of the wet stuff on tap.  Just got in from raking, mowing, edging, liming, and fertilizing the entire lawn.  Put down the fertilizer with crabgrass preventer where I don't plan on doing any reseeding this year.  Looks like a bumper crop of weeds is emerging this year, but I will address that with chemical warfare.  Didn't get a chance to re-mulch the gardens with some of that cedar stuff I bought before the rains set in.....a project for the weekend.  The wife just doesn't understand that having dogs and a picture perfect lawn don't exactly go together like bread and butter.  Plus, I had asked her to train the dog in the back yard while changing locations every session so she doesn't wear out the lawn in one area  right down to the nub, but she just doesn't listen.  Bang Head  Her solution?  Rip it out and start over.  Bang Head  I think I will  have to fence off the 30' x 30' area she has decimated and reseed, then police her activities and make her move around the yard a bit more.

Our son who moved out of the house (again) about a year ago has decided to pick up stakes and join another buddy down in Margate NJ, just south of Atlantic City.  Has secured employment in office reconstruction and network rewiring!!!!  It's about 385 miles and an 8 hour drive South of here.  Wife not happy about this physical "separation."   There goes the neighborhood, NJ boys!!!!

Anybody know why just the 1.75 inches on the outer edge on both front tires would wear too quickly realative to the rest of the tires?  I have them set at the factory-recommended 30 psi, recheck them ebery three weeks or so, the front end was realigned by the dealer a year and about 22K miles ago, and the car runs smooth as silk at all speeds.  Rears are set to the factory recommended 32psi and are not wearing in a similar fashion.  Tires are Michelin MXVs, the high priced spread.  My common sense tells me that the factory recommends a lower tire pressure so the vehicle rides softer, and also tells me that 30psi is too low and is causing the tire wear problem problem.  So I bumped the fronts to 32psi and the rears to 34psi.  Any advice or observations?

Go get 'em JimmyT.  Good to hear from you, SubmmBob and Johnny 'Across the Pond' Baker.  Stay out of trouble down South, JoeyD, because those Southern sheriffs like to pick us Northerners' pockets clean at every opportunity.  8N......sounds like your wifey has decided her social activities will not be curtailed with that knee!!!!  RaySP......hope your balky knee turns out to be as simple as the cartilage, probably is.

Gotta run.  Later, guyz.
