Happy Sunday!
Fife - I don't live near dock-able water....
Well, Friday after I left you all, I was ready to make it an early night. Plans changed immediately as the pager hit for a working structure. 2nd floor '30's (plaster/lathe) construction. Made 1st truck, 3rd man in. Made a great stop, 1st floor saved, 2nd floor will need reconstruction. Up until 0130. Was a tremendous effort by our 5 man crew. Proud of my boys...!
We had a Firefighter/Guardsman die in Afghanistan and that group tried to protest that. The fire depts/EMS/Police had something to say about that. The Patriot Riders and other groups were there as well. Not a peep. Screw those people. It's they're right I'll grant you that, but morally, they are bankrupt.
Wrestled with a friend's Honda Civic and the Civic won...6 hours to do a timing belt.... a lot went wrong...but still.
Not much else. Will be heading over to the roadrunner later pull the gas tank then off to bed. Short weekend and a long week ahead.
Will check back when I can!

I'll be at York on Thursday and Friday. Had a great day yesterday, I went to the Keystone Division TCA Train Meet in Millersville, PA and then stopped at the Sprint Car races at Lincoln Speedway. What a great day! Enjoyed dinner at home with the Mrs. and her friends.
The Keystone show was pretty nice for a small show. You kind of get spoiled when you go to York. Of course, I didn't win the door prize. Didn't buy anything because the train budget is a bit drained after I paid for a ZW transformer that I really don't need. I need to start saving my lunch money and allowance for York.
Better get started on some dinner. Leftover chili and an onion tart for dinner.
Take care,
Mitch

Aloha all. Tired! Worked today's church services. Began at the equivalent of 4 am. Not too bright to have gone to bed the equivalent of 1130 pm last night. Ah well. Fun was had by all and the rest has been a quiet day.

Afternoon all!
Back from Vegas business trip. It was a very busy week with meetings and seminars. Could have a lot more to tell but as they say "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." I guess it is the same for York. Our little group was trying to get tickets for the Tony Lash layout tour. I have not heard yet if we succeeded. Guess I should hear something next week.
Resting up from the trip so I can be ready for tomorrow's work day.
Hope all are well and prayers for those that need them.
Have a great afternoon all!
Regards, Roy
Evening all. Not a lot happening around here. Was looking at my Virginian rectifier and just remembered it is tmcc but didn't have coil couplers well I also remembered I just got some in for my PRR GP-9 but its not TMCC yet so guess where the couplers went lol. Little by little getting all these engines up to the way I want them. Basically have 3 more engines i want to put TMCC in Williams Virginian Trainmaster, MTH NYC F's set ( conventional set similar to the Lionel f units from the 50-60's 200 series. ) and the Lionel PRR GP-9 power unit. All in time lol.
Well since I went back to work on Thursday morning I already worked 40 hrs.
Off tomorrow :) so plan to relax. suppose to be off the weekend but may swap my Sunday for another guys Monday as he has a special needs child and needs the weekend off. If I would do both days it would mean I have to work 7 or 8 days in a row and don't want to do that.
Hope all had a good weekend and got what they wanted done. Talk to you all later.

more Southern propaganda. filled with truths and lies truth about the taxes lies it had nothing to do with slavery it had to do with both. And that came from a southern gentleman to me who isn't around anymore. I learned more from him than I think I learned in school.
Good evening all,
It is a cloudy day in SE Indiana. Did not do much today. Did get my latest LEGO set built. Wife gave me a haircut. We went for a walk as well. Not much else is going on. Work will be busy this week. I had the ham and toast for breakfast on the dining car. TBIL any time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

I both cases, NOTHING LEARNED.
Sunny and in the 60's yesterday, cloudy degeneraqting into rain today.
Busy lately - haven't posted for a while.
My wife got released from home care by both the nurse and the physical therapist. Setting up appointments tor outpatient PT with the same therapist who was working on her back. Took her out for breakfast yesterday, and she attended a docent meeting at the depot too. Tired her out pretty good.
They are planning on tapping her to set up some children's programs and she is looking forward to giving tours in a couple of months.
Stumbled into some interesting KATY and MoPac reference material while I was waiting for her meeting to break up, in the non-public areas of the depot. Bet if I ask really nicely, I'll be able to use them in the future.
Saw an oddball locomotive on the way to work today. Was an old, heavily weathered Cotten Belt SD35(?) that had freshly applied UP markings - a hearld on the front and new locomotive numbers on patches of UP mustard yellow on the sides of the cab.
All for now.
Evenin' All.
Quiet day today.
Dinner done and kitchen mess disposed of. Jambalaya with shrimp, chicken and smoked sausage, added a bit extra cayenne in hopes of helping to sweat out what's left of this crud.
Got outbid on E-Bay, didn't think the bid would hold but I got a chuckle out of it. With about 5 seconds to go my bid was sniped, but with about 1 second to go the sniper got sniped. Karma.

Good morning all,
It is cooler in SE Indiana with temps in the 40s. Has anyone here ever been to the train shows in Springfield, Ohio? I was talking to someone over the weekend who mentioned them to me. He said there was some standard gauge usually represented at the show, moreso than most shows in the area. If anyone has some thoughts on the matter, please let me know. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hi GUYZ,
36 and gonna be nice here. Letting the waters go back into their banks.
Stay frosty,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 36 degrees. Going up to 44 today with a chance of sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have a few chores to do and a project to finish. Wife is grocery shopping. Maybe I can catch a short nap this afternoon.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck
Good Morning
28/40 with bright sun
I'm just gonna say hi as my heads spinning like a top. Not a virus, think it's sinus..S.J.
Aloha. Grey and cold. Supposed to warm up this week. Looking forward to it. Happy Monday. Nice if too brief chat with the guys too.
Mornin' Fellas. Finally got the gutter hung above the screened porch door. Hopefully that will eliminate the water splashing up on the doors as they have become moldy from the water... so now I have to replace them not even 1 year later... priced putting PVC boards up as the finish boards around the outside of the screened porch, would cost < $500, so highly considering it. That would mean buying PVC doors which jacks the price from $75.00 per door to over $200 per door... but in the long run I think it will be worth it as no maintenace since they'll be under roof.Started planning the spare bathroom remodel... that should take a couple weekends. And also laying hardwood in the LR and DR. That should about do me for projects this year.Jack - played Softball last fall... no problems. The arm can take a fall now. Started planning our summer vacation. Looks like a long weekend in NY Finger Lakes region... may try to talk SusieQ into taking the excursion train this time. She also has a graduation ceremony she could attend in Phoenix in July. We're thinking we could do that and then do a 4 or 5 day trip through AZ... that would be nice.Got a little work done on the bridge this weekend. Should be able to pull it out tonight to get some more work done on it. Right now working on the spackle skim coat to smooth it out. Also thinking of redoing a part of the layout. If you remember the side where the town is has a very steep incline, thinking of extending the back corner of the layout to the wall, then realigning the front of the layout so the transition track from second level to first level runs in front of the upper level, this would give me a tiered look instead of a 18 inch vertical cliff. Also it would allow me to realign the tracks under the double track bridge, but that may require extending the bridge also. If I do that I'll need to add a 10 inch girder bridge on either side of the Atlas O double track truss bridge. This would mean I'll need to figure out a way to support a total of 60" of bridge, thought here is to buy some 1/4" steel about 1.25" high. This would be painted flat black and mounted under the bridge decks.
Overcast, warming, and the rivers and streams and snowpiles are receding. 20% of the lawn still covered.......mostly snowpiles, the last bastion of this past Winter's remnants, hopefully.
Wife and I watched the aftermath in Japan on TV. Horrible.
DougDG and SJ.......hope you get to feeling better.
JimSP.......good to hear from you again. And the good news on the little ones.
LAZ........ for your accurate assessment. Needed to be said. I can lawfully and vilely protest in the most disrespecttful hateful manner at the funeral of one of our fallen, invade the grieving family's privacy, and devastate further that already devastated family with absolutely no regard for them. That is protected under freedom of speech and is not disturbing the peace. But I cannot similarly protest espousing the exact same belief at 3 in the morning in front of someone's house because that is disturbing their peace. In short, our courts have therefore decided that sleep should be legally defended and held higher in importance than grief, honor, duty, patriotism, and the respect of a grateful nation.
Later, gang.
Jack.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
We had a great Sunday yesterday. After church I finished the Star Wars Monopoly game the two older kids and I started Saturday night. I won this time which was quite the accomplishment for me. I just about completed the newest Lionel Kindler house I recently bought. I only have to attach the back door light and the downspout. The two older kids are on Spring Break this week so we let them stay up late last night which meant I had to referee.
It is cold and rainy today, but it should be nice the rest of the week. I have the usual agenda at work today, but I need to get some things ready for tomorrow when my boss from Texas will visit.
Have a great day,
Joe
Morning all!
Cloudy and cool here - 40s this morning and headed to 60 today - but then warming to 70/low 80's later this week.
Been ill most of the weekend. Not sure what it is. Like SJ, seem to get dizzy easily. Virus? I have been fighting one bug or another since mid-Dec.
8nTruck - good to hear the wife is better.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Lunch Time in Central Jersey,

Thoughts and Prayers for the fallen officers, victims in Japan and all in need.

OMG!!!!!! Missed the news this AM [just saw the weather]. Deputies killed and wounded!!! Horrible. Saw the post and did an on-line research. Well, they killed the "perp".
Partly cloudy, breezy and cooler. Rain coming and then rebounding to 80 by Friday. Had to drive in to Raleigh to get a place on neck re-frozen. Now to lime the pond.
Just saw an email the CHAR is getting better and better reports. OUTSTANDING.
Later.
Because of the West Boro whacko's the Patriot Guard Riders came to be, to help shield the fallen soldiers families from the uninvited guests. I have personally been on over 60 missions, not all funerals but deployments and welcome homes events for our Hero's. When the protesters have been at funerals I can tell you that the families never see or hear them, it wasn't always that way but that is the way it has been for the last couple of years. It has almost made me physically sick to see their signs (and you don't see the worst ones on the news) but our mission is to show respect and honor for the fallen soldier and his/her family, it's the least any of us can do.
I'm probably on thin ice with my comments, I intend in no way to make them political in nature.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Jon, You may be on thin ice, with your comments, but you are not standing alone. Maybe not physically, but in heart, I stand with you 100%. I think that protesting at funerals, is a terrible way for people to express their beliefs.
Finally saw what you guys were talking about with the shooting in Virginia. As you know we had a similiar shooting on New Year's Day when a young female deputy was ambushed and killed just west of Buckeyeland. Your heart goes out to their families. fifedog, remember we want you home safe and sound every night.

MIke....The Clark County fairgrounds at Springfield, Oh is about 45 minutes west of Rogers Corners on I-70. I have been to the show numerous times. It is one of my favorite shows because; 1. Free parking 2. Resonable admission fee @ $5.00 3. All scales 4. New and used 5.Interesting layouts. I have purchased several items for the layout including the hard to find AO Smith Blue Silo. (I just realized that life is now imitating my layout with Bob Evans moving their headquarters to Rogers Corners.)
