Dennis, prayers for healing man!

Don - Laugh  Maybe your neighbor could tell you how to pay for your implants with dollar bills?

Charlie - MAN!  Glad you are okay!

Daughter won the spelling bee at her school today!  We let her pick where she wanted to have a dinner, so we ended up at the Olive Garden.  It was good, but man everything sure tasted salty.  Guess I've been doing better at following the doctors orders than I thought Smile  Got home and Char tried to do the higher steps - bam!  We got her up using cushions and basically building steps she could scoot up on until she was up in the sofa and then she could stand up again.  It was more funny than anything - for us!  I think I'm in the doghouse for laughing though.

To catch everyone up - Jeff is doing good and now following doctor orders after his back surgery.  My Aunt, who is my Godmother, got through her surgery the other day and they fixed a hernia and also removed a tumor from her lung, which was not malignant.  My Dad is doing well and will be going home next Friday.  Mom has had people in putting in a ramp from the insurance company, a hospital bed, etc.  My doctor appointment went well, but my top number stayed at 140 so some know what that means - lose weight and no salt.

Overall, a busy and crazy week, but we made it!  Time for some fun - God bless and the Tardis will be around in a bit to get everyone!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Busy day at work went to Mass then went out to dinner with some friends.  A busy day on tap for Saturday, change out to O2 sensor, basketball, then Saturday Mass. There is an all night lock in with the youth, and I may chaparone, we'll see if they need me.

Prayers for Dennis.

Good night and may God bless

I'm lucky to be typing this to you all.  At 4:50pm today a woman in a diabetic coma crashed into my office building right at the location of my desk.  If she had impacted the building just a few more inches to the left missing the corner.. I was told I could have been seriously injured or worse.  Here is what it looked like.

Sorry SJ, just recalled the old joke about the PO having something in common with Buster Brown....thousands of loafers!  BTW, do they even make Buster Brown shoes anymore?

Don, I think you got it nailed!  Somehow, you have always been one to keep us amused with your stories, or interpretation of our own storiesYes

RT, yeah, we do have a lot of similar tastes.  I do check before bidding to make sure no one I know of is going to be outbid by me.  Then again, my wife would tell you I already have too many trains!

Heading to bed.  Hope everyone has a blessed night.

Good afternoon everyone.  Jack, that may be a USPS special snow blower.  It is proud to be called a snow blower, happy to be treated like a much needed and useful piece of equipment, but when it comes to work, it is just another 4-letter word!....OK, just kidding (sorry to any postal workers).

Chief, that is a great scope.  I have a straight 18X micro dot from premier reticle Leupold on mine.  It really reaches out and "touches" them.  I have been looking at the swarovski scope for one of my 300 Win Mags, one of the guys I work with has one.  Costs more than the rifle, but it is a great piece of glass.

We have a train show next weekend I am hoping to take in.  It is the only one anywhere near the area and it includes only a few "O" dealers.  Mostly HO guys there.  For this weekend, I am taking the family to see the Air Force Band at the local civic arena.  It is a free concert, and if it is anything like the USMC silent drill team....very impressive.

Jack, on a more serious note regarding the fire hydrants, we used to go out with the engine and shovel the hydrants in our district.  We used coal shovels as they are sturdy and move a small enough snow as to not kill your back.  It was helpful for the probies as they also learned the locations.  Now, I think the dispatch gives hydrant locations when the send them out.

Just had to answer the door for a Fed Ex shipment from CHOOCHOO.  Nickle Plate Box Car.  Looks nice.  It was sent yesterday afternoon and arrived today.  Now I am waiting on a delivery from The Train-Station.com, a MTH train station.

Hope each of you has a great weekend.
God Bless,
Dennis

Hello all,

Busy as he** lately. Still cold. We got about 4" of snow out of the storm that dumped on Jack.

Did we get the implants figured out?Confused

 I owe Dennis a belated Happy B-Day and a happy 31st anniversary to????(I'm having a brain cramp)

Got to pick up beef from butcher shop in the morning. Then get it wrapped and in the freezer. We'll make some hamburgers and meat balls too. Hope to get Son's snowplow finished after that. By the way he is a Licensed "Hostler" now. Sorting them out to get the one they want into the shop.

Jack, did you get the snow blower going?

Hoping for some train time Sunday.

Best get back to the SS fund.

Prayers for all those in need.

Good morning all,

It was about 20 degrees this morning when I went out for a run.  Today's high is in the mid-40s.  I have a busy Friday ahead of me at work, but nothing that should keep me here too late.  I had oatmeal for breakfast.

Morning all.  early out to take Lucy to groomer.  Was so balmy when I got home, I serviced the 4 Runner [that I never got to do the other day].  Now off to a meeting in Raleigh.

Dennis, get well.  Got new Leupold VX3 Varmint Special scope for .22-250.  Hunters Haven took old one in at exact new price trade as only used a few times and in new shape.

Can you guys ever get things all confused!  I am sure glad I live out here in the land of "Fruits and Nuts" I think the snow is getting to you all.  Just to recap...

We got Dennis recuperating from an eye injury from taking down a Christmas tree.

Then Fife was curious about how big the implant was or maybe he thinks there was multiples, (he must have been thinking I was having it done on two teeth.),  While Doug Murphy is impressed with the whole idea. And,  SP Ray has experience with removable ones.  Roy on the other hand thinks its better to be in a accident first, to have full benefit of the reconstructive benefits. Brutus, would rather go buy a bridge somewhere. The new guy (Train Doc), thinks I should find a reasonable dentist, (thats an oxymoron),  Then the Chief thinks it should be done in the "head" somewhere.  Jack is tying to organizer a fundraiser, and ends up crashing his snowblower into a fire hydrant.  To which Lionroar thinks the Chief can resolve with his gas activity and knowledge.  Then Pat comes along and was in a very sharing mode.  Suffice it to say, it doesn't take much and this group will get it all switched around.  Think I'm going to pass on the whole thing.

Don - Amazing - you got it completely correct! You get an "A+".

A balmy 37 here this morning and headed to 50 today - 60's for the weekend! Paradise

Local train show this weekend and our club is setting up our portable layout for it. I have 3 hours of run time slated! Need a train fix since my home layout is now in storage.

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Regards, Roy

Good morning all,

It is dry and cold in SE Indiana with temps in the 20s.  Did some grocery shopping for the "saucy wench", but she is getting around better.  Took it easy last night.  Nothing major planned for the three day weekend.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good evening all,

We had another quiet evening at home which is a great thing.  We had hamburgers tonight for dinner; mine had bacon, mushrooms, and barbecue sauce on it.  I know my neighbors think I am nuts for firing up the grill when it's about 30 degrees outside, but I thought it felt great.  I did not do anything with the layout tonight or run any trains.  I need to spend some time this weekend cleaning and lubricating the locomotives; I have not done it before so I will be doing some research to make sure I get it right.

My wife and I just finished watching House Hunters International and I believe I will turn in early tonight.

Good night,

Joe

Evening all

It has been a while since I’ve had time to swing by and catch up.  Lots of snow but the roads are clear.  Going to be working on the Avalon this weekend.   It threw a PO135 code S1B1.  Turns out to be the oxygen sensor and of course the hardest one to get to.

Cleaned up a couple of AF accessories.  A #50 School house and a 595 tower.

Evenin' All.

This are showing signs of drying out, FINALLY.

Jack, This came about when you started working the stuff around the hydrant, right. Does the snowblower have an "overload/kill switch" that could be kicking in from the compacted snow & ice from plows, etc.?

Went looking for a new motor for my Lionel FT's, I know you aren't going to believe this but they are unavailable from Lionel. Who'd a thunk it.

Gettin' ready to fry some buttermilk chicken, check in later.

Jack....Because I use a snowblower extensively, one trick I have found is to use 89 octane gas.  It just seems to start better.  I also completely run all the gas out of the tank at the end of season.   Good luck!!

Good evening

25 today and still cloudy

Although it may not be the fuel/water, it's the reason I always run my outdoor motors dry at the end of their season. It's been a quiet day so I'll just get the banilla ready for the thingy...S.J.

Just what you do not need, Jack - and Brent for that matter. Ugh. This is why I have an electric snow-thrower. Let's see it starts fine, runs fine for a while, then dies.  So something is happening after it starts fine and warms up to cause it to die. How tight is the fuel cap? I can't imagine moisture getting in there. Did you recently add fuel?

JACK,

I agree with BANKS could be moisture in the tank.  Try some dry gas, I think they still sellit.

Hope it works out, but it sounds like that or mabe try regapping the plug, if its sputtering.

Evening all!

Looks like the high today will only make 39, but 60 by the weekend!

Jack - hate to say it, but what you are doing wrong is called a "good deed." Nothing ever works right when one is trying to do a "good deed." The same thing occurs with a lawnmower or weedwacker when you try to help out with a neighbor's yard (or you loan a neighbor your lawn mower). The motto is "no good deed goes unpunished."

The good news for those kids is baby skunks do not have developed scent glands. The bad news is mama skunk does have them and is usually close by!

Have a great evening all!
