Good morning all, Went for blood work today and now unrelated a trip to the foot doctor for regular appointment.
D. Baker, let me know how you make out with the rubber trim around the windows. I have that problem with our older second car, a Buick Century. It leaks when it rains because the rubber has gone bad around the windows. I have just been covering with a tarp when it rains because we don't drive it much but would like to fix it if doesn't cost too much.
Collie dogs quiet this morning when their daddy came home from work at the fire department. They were like little angels when he showed up. He told me dogs have a food alergy from new feed. Says he has to switch back to the former stuff.

Hi GUYZ,
Just got done running trains for about an hour all is well in the basement. NO PILE UPs.
ROY sounded like great fun with all the kidos. Sounds like you had a blast, did you give out any engineer hats?
DOUG, M. her name is MINIE, really SKINNY MINIE. Hope she stays that way?
CHIEF, sounds like FINN should be playing for the BEARs with those over the back catches?
Check in later,
Stay frosty,

Good morning from a cloudy Dallas Ft Worth. Temps to hit 50's today. Was supposed to be sunny?
Great train show last weekend. Lots of kids, families, and adults hanging around our modular 12 x 28 ft display with 6 trains running. Ran my Lionmaster UP Challenger and Lionmaster NYC Hudson. Gave the TMCC controller to any kid I could find. Showed them how to run it with simple instruction - "like a real locomotive engineer - if you run it off the tracks you lose your job." No pile ups as LAZ would say. Lot's of compliments from the parents along the lines of - "no one else let them touch anything - thank you!" Two 3-rail layouts at the show out of about 18 layouts - the 3-railers are the only ones that let the kids run the trains.
Haven't had time to catch up after a busy weekened and Monday. Hope all are doing well!
Regards, Roy
Good morning all,
It is about 33 and overcast right now. It should make it to the low-40s today. It rained a little yesterday, but it wasn't cold enough to cause any problems.
I had the usual oatmeal for breakfast.
Have a great day all,
hey laz: many happy hours of joy with the new pup!! the famous humorist Will Rodgers said "If there are no dogs in heaven, then when i die, i want to go where they went!! later.
Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Morning all. Cloudy and foggy but not freezing. Off to meetings today and tonight.
LAZ, know you will enjoy playing with the new one. Finn is now a monster size boy at 9 months. He loves to catch his ball in the air. He can catch it even over his back. Only thing is he loves to do the same inside. Monster size dog jumping and turning in the house can upset things and Mom.
Hope all have a great week working and making my SS payments.
SJ, mush mush mush.
Shake and Bake, which is it this week? Bake, shake or float?
Jack, got any snow to spare?
Later
PS: just finished watching Trains and Locamotives [DVR'd] with the GG1. Did not realize it ran as late into the 20th Centery as it did. Some good videos.

Temps supposed to crash tonight, just in time for my train ride home from class - get to ride the L today to go to another campus for a meeting. Prayers for your dad, Mike C. Hope the building is repairable soon, Charlie. What's the name of your new arrival, Laz?

Chief,
If you would keep the weapons INSIDE, you wouldn't have to clean them every time it rains !
Only a person from CA would think I was playing in the rain with my weapons.
Still a little rainy. Off to bed. Meetings this week.
Mike C., prayers for your Dad.
LAZ, congrats on the new baby.
Sleep tight.
PS - Pat! Chewy says BARK! (Thanks!)
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Mike - prayers for your dad, your family and especially for you. God bless, bro.
Laz - good deal, sounds like a real sweetheart
Took wife to doctor appt today. We didn't hear her liver numbers, but regular blood counts were all normal now This coming Friday is her 1 year anniversary of when we began the treatment. They changed some meds and Monday she will have a biopsy to see how well her bone marrow is doing. Doctor said he'll fax in something for me for an excuse from jury duty - otherwise I would have jury duty on Monday. Sure hope they let me off, as my Mom is busy taking care of my Dad and her Mom doesn't want to travel with Winter weather.
Tardis is ready, so let's hit the road!
Good evening all,
It's been a nice couple of days weather-wise. Yesterday, I cleaned and oiled some PW coal hoppers that were in need of some TLC. I also made some inserts for them out of foam board I sprayed with some black textured paint. Now I will not have to use as much coal to fill them. I was able to enjoy the football games while I was working on the cars.
I was off today for the holiday and somehow I managed to sleep in until 1040. My wife was feeling very kind this morning and got up with the three kids so I could sleep in. We went out for lunch and some quick shopping, and then I completed a bridge I made out of wood, mostly balsa. It is nothing special, but now I need to decide if I want to stain it, or somehow try to make it look like steel using paint. After dinner, I ran the trains for about 30 minutes.
Mike C. - More prayers for your father.
I think I will go read for a bit and then get some sleep even though I have not been awake for 12 hours yet.
Sturgeon-Phish Charlie – Is that a corner office with a view? Glad you did not get hurt. How is the lady?
She was fine.

Mike - Prayers to you and your family. I'm sure all will turn out well for everyone.
Don - Just how much are they charging to park? Seems to me that between parking and door admission sometimes it's best to buy through trusted friends you dealt with before or though EBay. I understand all there is at shows but.....
Laz - Good luck with the pup, they ARE man's best friend!

Nice outside today. Got into the mid 40’s. I replaced the O2 sensor on the Toyota. Rented the removal tool from AutoZone. Made the job go real easy. It was hard to get to but long arms are an advantage. Would of been great to have an eye at the end of my finger!
Good night and God bless
Jim

Evening All !
Had kinda/sorta productive day. Took Chris' car to a window shop, and as I expected have to get a new window. The nylon clip that secures the window to the scissor assembly is stripped, and can't really replace it, because it clamps right onto the glass. Surprising the window isn't that expensive. Also door need a new rubber guide, so he will put it all together tomorrow. Problem solved. Got yard mowed, it actually looks like someone lives here now. Then did some work on a 4 truck MTH Shay, upgraded it from a PS1 to a PS1. Works great and sounds a LOT better!! Boy will it ever smoke you out of the room. Tried to order some things but half the businesses are closed and those that are open won't ship till Tuesday. Did some cleaning in the train room. And, tonight going to work on a Control Panel layout.
Mike prayers for your Dad, hope it is caught early enough that the treatments are effective.
Laz, you should have talked to Ray (SP), I'm sure he could work an arrangement on some Collies real cheap!
Another train show coming up this weekend in Anahiem, not sure whether or not I'm going to go, parking is really expensive and there are not any places near by where you can get around it. Probably wouldn't buy anything anyway, going to save the $ for later on.
Take care, and warmer weather is on the way! We have just had the 4th day of near 80 degrees, so it should be back there soon.
Don
Good Evening

Good afternoon all,
A bad day yesterday got worse today. Dad is looking at cancer now. Talk about a blindside. Prayers needed. Procedure today was a biopsy on the liver. Will know results by Thursday or Friday. Procedure on Thursday is striclty for evalutaion purposes only, no fixes involved then. Only good thing is that sister will be here to discuss options. Thanks in advance for all the support. Got to run. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Ray- Collies are great watch dogs and great protectors! That's thier good points, the bad is yes they are loud and they shed worse than my Siberian Husky. And they have 5???!!!!
Ray (AF53)
Good morning all, Got to get ready for colonoscopy this week starting prep on Thursday. Will enjoy first three days this week before going on clear liquids Thursday. Yuk!
Weather here is nice lately with temps in th mid 70's to 80 in some places. No rain in sight so maybe the folks in snohio will get less as time goes on..
Five, count em, five collie dogs next door bark everytime somebody walks past their house next door. Some of the dogs have had their voices altered by a vet to lower volumn but I can still hear them. It's starting to get old. I don't like the idea of "fixing the voices" like that though. I think it is cruel. Problem is, just too many dogs or not enough training. Only good thing is that we will get plenty of warning if strangers are in the neighborhood.
Have a good week,
hello:about 4degrees here overnite. brr! jets won; pats looked confused,so did Robert Kraft. tv didn't show him so much; hmm? had a house full, mostly behaved themselves. left around 9 ish. took a deep breath and cleaned up. wifey watched foreign press awards, yuk! bright side though, got some time to work on my train mural.can't do too much, grandkids like to help. hey laz, bet Pittsburgh will give the Jets what for this weekend; gonna be a great game. good thing i have all week to recover and stock up. hope everyone is enjoying playoffs. kinda tired of the same commercials, thank goodness for the mute button!
sun but cold. in the teens.
Granny's bbsitting today as schools here are closed for the fed. holiday. I did manage to fry an egg and ham for a sandwich. Think I'll toss the pan away before she gets home...lol...no not really. Snow/freezing rain/to rain overnite and tomorrow. Have a great monday...S.J.
