Morning All:
Mike C - Read where IRS isn't sending out tax packets this year for 2010. Have to down load it from their web site. This forces some, mostly older folks, to get computers and internet hook up. There is an 800 number to order packet, but doubt they will have enough to send out.
Navyjack- Weather here in central VA cold but no snow. The snohio snow deflector shield is working fine.
Brutus - Happy birthday to Chewy.

Aloha. Not too many on the train, the streets of the Loop or in the office. Maybe celebrating the Bears win. Should be a fun game next week. Anyway, got a great parking spot at the train station. Looks like 3-5 inches today. Have to do something with the Chinese Pres visiting Chicago Thur. Not sure what yet. Might have to squire some underlings.

Hi GUYZ,
Off today for MLK Day. Gotta fix up my gradebook on computer then do a 3.5 miler inside on treadmill. Weights later then solder some more power drops on fasttrack on the second loop. Then of course run trains.
Stay frosty,

fifedog Stayin' frosty boys. Fifepup still over the game. Toy-Train Question--- Can I charge 2 MTH engines (1 with older 8.4, and 1 with newer 7.2 batteries) at one time. Saw where Dbaker referenced this in the past, but just can't locate a definitive answer in a timely manner. Nothing mentioned on the MTH site.

Fife,
I have the MTH charger with 2 leads, one for the "cigar" type connector, and the other with the Molex connector. I have used it but never tried charging 2 batteries at the same time. I would be surprised if it would work, I think the efficiency would be quite low. Of course if used the charger on one battery, and set the engine on the track in neutral for a period of time. Will be interesting what you find out. Sorry for posting so late, just got home.
Worked most of the weekend, it was "OK" but certainly wasn't great! Still working with my "plumbing" problem, will try again tomorrow. Then son's car has had a problem with the drivers window. Ordered a Regulator/Motor assembly, in the process of installing it the "blind" bolt stripped. So will have to see if can come up with a new plastic retention nut tomorrow. If its not one thing its another. Oh well, atleast they are minor problems.
Getting late, hope everyone has a great day!
Don
Sorry Mike - prayers for your family and loss, but especially for your Dad and his procedure.
Joe - I would second that traintender recommendation! Good service.
Nothing much going on here - getting used to the new glasses today.
Tardis ready - we have banilla or banana flavors of icecream as well as all the usual toppings, so lets get a move on boys :)
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Very interesting the NFC and AFC teams that are left are #2 and #6 on both sides .

Good evening all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s. A nice quiet day went to H--- in a handbasket about 6 AM. Wife wakes me up, says dad is on phone and feeling sick. I go over there and stay with him all morning. Whatever is bothering him lately really affected him today and he was tossing cookies twice. After that he was comfortable. After that I looked at the packet of info for the procedure on Thursday. Turns it is an ERCP, which is an acronym for an obnoxiously long phrase that means they are going to run a scope down his innards, examine and possibly fix some digestive plumbing. Primarily concerned with gall bladder, gall stones, pancreas and tubing connecting those to the small intestine. They do not send information describing it anymore but rather direct you to a website to show video of what will happen. Dennis W has a better idea of what I am talking about. I am in favor of web based information, but sometimes facilities have to remember not everybody has the internet or even access to it. Did some errands this afternoon and ran the 384E this evening. Also learned some other plans for the week were altered as well. Not the best day today. One good thing I think is that dad will tell my sister tomorrow about the process on Thursday. Thank you for all the thoughts about my uncle. He was a good man, a hard working man. I just hope and pray he will have the peace he deserves. Some years you have a feeling will not be good ones, and some how I think this could be one of them.
I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL after "Desperate Housewives". I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,

It is 24 degrees. Going up to 32 today. No new snow coming.
Today is an easy day. I plan on watching the football games. Maybe from the train room. Not much else new.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Good evening everyone. Been a real lazy day. I am on call, (covering for a guy and then my own call from Monday on...). Anyway, spent most of the day watching Netflix movies. Watched several episodes of the original "Battlestar Galactica"....Jane Seymour is a good looking woman, and thirty three years ago, even more so. We also have watched several other movies over the last few days. Hardly ever put the regular TV on anymore.
Regarding my eye, it is getting better. I can see clearly, but the lid and orbit are still somewhat swollen. Look forward to being back to 100%.
Joe, ChooChoo is very good to deal with. Keep in mind, most shipping is about $9.00, perhaps more to reach Oklahoma, so bid accordingly. If you ever have a problem, call or email them and they will make it right. I have had a few issues with items being damaged, etc. and they have always taken care of things. Mind you these are rare as I have bought a LOT of items from there. (RT and some others can tell you of my bidding/winnings).
Charlie, glad you are well. That serves as another reminder that we are not guaranteed tomorrow. A person can take all precautions and something like that can take you out in a moment.
Brutus, I am glad things are on the mend...but man, glad we are not related! Seems your clan is taking it on the chin, but it seems everyone is turning a corner....prayer does work!
Mike, sorry about your uncle. We know it is time when they get to a certain point, but it is still hard. May God meet the need of you and your family and May His Peace be upon you to comfort you in this time of loss.
Thanks guys for the prayers....they helped me get through the past week. When my eye is back to full strength, I will be heading out to get some new glasses and better protection so I can keep the vision I have.
Church in the morning and I am actually on camera, so I hope not to get called in and that my eyes are well enough to get through. We have a preacher from Oklahoma coming to give the message, so I know it will be another block buster.
God Bless,Dennis

Well went out with flintlock from 10-1 today, was a nice day but cold at 30. Saw nothing came back to truck and something told me to keep gun loaded for the ride out. But I said ah lets just end the season here so I fire off gun into dead tree at 25 yrds. Good shot, hit exactly where I aimed, loaded up headed down mountain in truck in 4 WD. About 150 yds. down from where I unloaded what do I see? 5 big doe standing broadside in a creek bottom, you guessed it 25 yrds away,DA!!!!!! Looked at em with binos no buck, they just walked away. Came home cleaned gun took shower went down to BARRYs stoped in to say hi. He had my NYC Trackmobile so I picked that up then went to train nerd party. Lots o laughs and met up with a gentleman who has been published 5 times for his HO gauge layouts in Model Railroader Magazine. Had a nice talk with him and his wife. Then talked with rest of GUYZ I knew. Good food and great train talk. Got home watched the Packers dismantle the Falcons.
MIKE C. sorry for your loss. Prayers for your UNCLE.
FIFE, sorry for your loss too. Heard score on radio on the way home.
CHIEF, glad you got the NS F units working.
It was a very pleasant Saturday for us. I did some chores and watched some football. Fife - At least your team made it to the playoffs. My Dolphins were watching. We then went out for dinner: Mexican food.
I also lubricated and oiled the three locomotives I own (This amount will hopefully grow over time). It made a huge difference in their running performance. You would think I would do it more often since I only have three. I will now since I saw the difference it made and that it was not hard to do. However, I noticed the Lionel 4-4-2 locomotive I had since high school was missing a screw, and now I need some help finding a screw it. The part number is 600-8142-065. Can anyone recommend a good vendor?
Mike C. – I’m sorry to hear about your uncle's passing. I pray you and your family will have peace during this time. Also, I pray your father's gall bladder surgery goes well.
Brutus - I just saw the comment you left on my Photobucket, thanks.
It’s now time to turn in; church in the morning.
Good night,
Joe
PS - Pat, that's the plan! Thanks for the advice, too. I need to cut out the going out to eat thing at lunch esp. Fast food is my big weakness. I try to cook a good supper for the family, but they like the fast food too, lol! Gonna have to get back on that Good Eats train.
HI guys - yeah, it felt really good posting so much good news after weeks of the same old sick news.
Worked 5 OT, then took wife and kids to the eyeglass place to have our new glasses adjusted and pick them up etc. Then we went to Walmart and she drove around on an electric cart and picked up this and that - doubled our usual grocery bill and more, but got some clothes she needed and some cleaning supplies and stuff.
Tardis is ready and SJ is driving, so hang on - it's gonna be a BUMPY ride!
