Evening all.  Well back from niece's B'day meal [chicken slick Dinner].  BTW: now the NS F units are running.  Have a Dash 9 I could never get to run.  Would not load or if it did, would say maintenance needed.  Would not startup.  Well, when I got the F units, it would say could not find engine.  The Great Barry B of MTH fame post on OGR for me to tether remote to TIU with the "phone cord".  Nope, no go.  Well took my remote to Miss Edna's.  Would not do the loading there.  So, reset remote.  Guess what?  Now will load all engines.  BTW: bought a second remote.  If I had that, I would have been able to see one was "bad".  Ran engines and no derailments and no crashes.

Now a little varmint hunting on TV and popcorn.

Good night.

hey I didn't see whole game but what i did see I saw some bad mistakes by Pittsburgh. I turned it off and started hooking up my 5121 and 5122 switches and wire them in serries so I can test them all ( 6 of them) as never have used them and bought all used off of ebay over the past 2 years I think maybe longer on some lol

Well they all work thats good one step closer lol

Good evening all,

It was a little warmer in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s for a while.  Wife and I did housework and then went to see "Country Strong".  For those of who have not seen it and are still planning to, do not read the rest of this post.  The Gwynneth Paltrow character dies at the end?????  What a bummer.  Definitely no sequel.  Perhaps not the best movie ever done, but the music is good.

Some somewhat sad news in that last my uncle past away this morning.  Sad in the sense that he is gone, but somewhat a relief to the family as he had been in a nursing the last few years and pretty much incoherent the last year or so.  This will make for a different kind of week as the funeral will be Tuesday and I have to take my dad up for gall bladder surgery on Thursday in Indy.

I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  Thoughts and prayers going out to those who need them.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Demay - It's all good.  As long as it's a good match to watch.  Hard to top last weekend.

laz - I've seemed to have misplaced my invite.  Will check under my stack of unpaid bills....

Found the culprit to my MTH GP9 woes.  When I went to reassemble the chassis, the red lead wire to the rear pickup roller came slipping out of its shrinkwrap housing.  Easy fix, and after 4 new rubber traction tires and a 12 hour charge, works like a charm.

So Buckeye actually had to head south to enjoy his SNOHIZO?

Well Fife its almost game time are you ready to see your ravens lose? Big Smile

Yes Fife i'm another Steeler fan Hey I grew up in PA. What more could you ask for? Yes

Aloha. Just settled down after a morning of running around and chores. Bought live crickets and cat food, HDMI cables and coffee creamer. Lots of weird stuff we'd run out of...then tore out what's left of my hair hooking up a new HD DVD player but now everything works. Bride is still down with her back acting up, so I'm waiting on her. Smile Glad Char and Charlie are OK.  Looking forward to Da Bears tomorrow. I'll have to check out Choo-Choo Auctions too.

Good morning all,

RT/Chief/Rich/Navyjack - Thanks for the replies on Choochoo, I will probably register today.  I have seen quite a few items of interest there.  However, I am like the Chief and will sometimes buy things I do not need right now or even have room for.  Navyjack almost scared me away from him with those anti-Yankee comments.  Just kidding, I have learned that some of you Rebs are okay.Laugh

I don't have much planned today.  I will probably do as Fife says and enjoy the playoffs.  However, I will be cheering for the Steelers.  Sorry Fife.

S.J. - Send some of that snow down here please.

Good day,

Joe

Hi GUYZ,

15 and a cold one here.  Going out for deer in about a half hour.  Going to hunt by myself for about 3 hours, then come home clean gun then get ready to go to Train Party in E Town.  The guy that works for BARRY has his annual train nerd party and this is the third year the wife and I have been invited.  I'll stop at BARRYs before party to say hi.

Stay frosty,

Happy Lunch time here on the East Coast...

Up to 34 today, was in the teen's and low 20's yesterday and last night.....

First 2 days of work were ok.  1 kid had been there a month and quit.  Seems like a good bunch and busy, so I'll be sticking around for a bit I think.  More jobs interviews requested this week, I'm mulling them over for now...

Went to a viewing for one of my cousins.  She was in her 80's and was sick for a short time.  Her grand daughters husband died last week so my cousin Carla was here in NJ when her Mom died in SC.  We talked for a while, saw a few more of my 1st cousins and talked with them for a while.  They had a short service this morning which I missed.....Bang Head

Tonight is our installation dinner for the fire dept., and the first one in 18 years I didn't have to fly to....Smile, Wink & Grin.  Looks like I'll be out all night (no, I'm not driving!) for more party afterwards.

Charlie: MAN that was close!!  Glad you are ok!!

Angel for Brutus & Dennis

NavyJack, Yeah ol' Charlie is a true YANKEE from the banks of Lake Erie in PA.

I've done some business with Train City and ChooChoo.  Talked to Mary many times.  Good people there and much better than E(vil)-Bay...

Mom & Dad come back today, so I have to finish cleaning up a bit here.  Then off to get ready...Cocktails at 6DrinksBeer!

As far as Football goes....since my Giants are no longer playing (By the way, I work for an Ex-Giant, Brad Benson #60), I turn my attention to my NJ Devils who won last night and that's 2 in a row...mabe a trend...?  There might be a hockey season after all....

AND Pitchers and Catchers report in 30 days....

Have a good Saturday!!

Rich @ Exit 8 NJTP

Good morning all, just checking in after a quiet week.  Just been playing with the new TV this week.  I need to get out to the train room now and polish the rails a little with some operation.

D Baker, hope you got the transplant question figured out.

Pain in the left knee bugging me.  Might be a reoccurance of old bursitis problem.  I remember I went for therapy on it once and it has been OK for a long time.

Went to gastrointeroligist appointment last  Thursday and got scheduled for colonoscopy next week.  Have to drink another gallon of that radiator flush to prep one day ahead of time.

Train buddy of mine is on a trip through Panama Canal which departed out of San Diego.  Read in local paper that two cruise lines are cancelling trips to Mexico because of  fear of violence down there and bad economy.

Glad to hear that congress woman in Arizona shooting is doing well.

Best wishes to all you snow bunnies in the East.

Brutus

My doctor appointment went well, but my top number stayed at 140 so some know what that means - lose weight and no salt.

I had the same problem until my wife put me on a low carb diet 4 months ago. Lost 22 lbs, dropped the BP down to 127/76 (today), stopped the BP  and cholesterol meds and feel great, lots more energy. Trying not to brag, just relaying what has worked for me.

Yes

if selling thou he requires at least a $25.00 deposite to cover listing fee's and final fees for items sold

I think it is the best auction site.  Spent a ton of $$$$$$ there.  Stop going except for a glance for NS items.  If I visit too long, I bid.  Then I end up with more train items and can't find places to store them.  Got two last ones still in the boxes.  I have found everything "graded" exactly right.  I had one NS engine that I got that was bad [TMCC electronics bad].  Charles took it back with no questions asked.  Also buying guns now.

Warmer.  Of to Miss Edna's to work on some DCS problems.   Also, Terry is doing my estate taxes.  Besides being a great train "mechanic", he is a great CPA.  Not going ot the lake until tomorrow after Sunday School.  Niece has birthday party tonight so going there.

We have a GPS bug on a certain Yankee.

Have a great day.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is 24 degrees. Going up to 30 today with a chance of snow.

Today is an easy day. I plan on taking it slow and doing a few chores. Then, I will spend some time in the train room. needs a good dusting. Some of the layout looks good with a little dust on it. Time to clean track again, too.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Buckeye has arrived in the far South as a "Forward Observer" for the next cannon firing.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Playoffs boys!  Playoffs?!  We are all ready here in Fifedom.  8 ft inflatable RAVEN in front garden, RAVENS mini-flags smartly placed across window boxes, Christmas festivus icicle lights aglow from the rafters and the pies-day-resistable...2 purple flamingos guarding the lamppost.  I've done my part.

Took apart my sick MTH Gp9 last night to check under its hood.  Then charged it for 12 hours with the MTH wall charger.  We'll see.  Read recently where MTH will no longer do warranty repairs on Proto 1 engines.

MichRR - We deal with those types of incidents on a monthly basis.  And we do our part in submitting the reexamination paperwork.  Unfortunatley, it usually comes down to the individual driver placing the safety of their community over their own needs for independence...Blindfold  I think we know how that goes.  Glad you are ok.  I got extra whities if you need....

Playoffs?!

Charlie, you Yanks talk about us Southerners can't drive on ice and snow.  Surprise  Jokes aside, glad you are OK.  Hope lady is too.  Have a buddy here that goes into "shock" a lot and has driven into other vehicles.  Usually his hits him at home.

Shake and Bake called and woke me from reclinerizing.  Told me about Charlie.  He hung up and I went right back to reclinerizing.  Finn woke me wanting to go outside.  Off to bed.

Good evening all,

I worked a little longer than I wanted to today, but I made it home just as the pizzas were coming out of the oven, so I guess I wasn't too late.  After dinner, I watched March of the Penguins and Deep Blue with my kids.  My 7y/o son enjoys nature shows very much, especially ocean ones.  After getting all the kids to sleep, the wife and I have been relaxing together.  It's about time to fall asleep now.

Charlie - I'm glad you're alright.  Do you know how she is doing?  Make sure you give some extra thanks to the Man upstairs tonight.

Brutus - You are busy.  It's great to see all the good reports on your family and friends.

Dennis/RT - I've been perusing Choochoo's site recently myself, but I have not signed up.  Is it easy to use?
