Morning to All,

Yet another closing.  Our kids have not been in school since last Tuesday and tomorrow isn't looking great either. We already have run out of snow days and now have two days to make up. Don't think I am going to brave the ice today. I have lots of vacation days I can use.

Tested the ZW transformer I picked up and it seems to be putting out power on all four taps. Was not able to test the whistle controls.  I want to pull out an AF set that I have and set up a loop on the carpet later today, still too cold in the garage to use the layout. I really ought to find a way to heat and cool the space so I can use it more.

Take care,

Mitch

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is 38 degrees. Going up to 40 today with a light rain. No snow, freezing rain, sleet, SO FAR.

Today is a busy day. I have some errands to run and the usual chores to do. I will take the afternoon off, and relax. Watching the weather closely.

Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great tuesday.

Good Morning from "beautiful" Edison, NJ,

32 degrees, light snow covering, more of the same on the way turning to a "wintry mix".

Into work early. Everything is quiet so far. When I left the house this morning, 56 mi. South, it was sleeting. The big storm is behind this one for the weekend.

Traindood, Take care up there. I hear that it is bad North of 78.

Brutus, Good news about Char.

Everyone, Be Careful.

Evenin' Y'all.

Hope all can stay indoors with what looks to be a real nasty batch of weather heading your way. Snow & cold are one thing but all that ice is bad.

Got my Railking 4-6-0 back from the shop, Mizells in Denver, and man does it run good. Just for chuckles I put it and the AT&SF 4-6-0 on the ceiling track to try running them with the DCS Remote Commander. Put them on oppoasite sides of the loop and hit the start-up button, Thumbs Up. Both engines fired up and as soon as you start to advance the throttle, push button throttle, they began moving in unison. Only ran them for about ten minutes, forgot to turn the smoke down a bit before starting. For the "small operator" with PS2 engines I think this DCS RC is a real winner.

Angel for all in need and you guys stay safe in this weather.

Hey guys - some good news on the wife's numbers although she is stll fighting an infection.  They did not change her medicine though, just watching how things go for another week.  Apparently we now know as of today that this stuff she is fighting now is VERY contagious and we should not be sharing a bathroom etc, because we could all catch it as well.  I sure wish they would have told us that a week ago!

Big storm has started and kids were off today and already scheduled off tomorrow.  They closed our office tomorrow also, which is cool Smile

Wife's happy - new Duggars shows on.

Tardis is ready and banilla will be good with hot fudge on a cold night, so let's go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening all,

The temp dropped today as predicted.  When I left work at 1730 it was already below 25 and dropping.  I think it is about 15 out there right now.  We're supposed to finally get a winter storm tonight and all day tomorrow.  The state is expecting the worst and the governor already declared a state of emergency.  It seems a bit premature to me since it hasn't even started yet.  The base has already planned for the worst and has directed late reporting tomorrow for non-essential personnel.  Most of the schools have already cancelled classes tomorrow as well.  The family and I are looking forward to the storm, I hope it doesn't let us down.  We will be happy to be holed up in our house for a few days with brief trips outside to play.

S.J. - I presume you would like to move to FL.  How much work would be involved in moving your trains and layout?

Laz - Did you get your reoccurring Log In issue worked out?

Good night,

Joe

Think we only got up to low 50's today but still to warm for snow.

drinking my cherry drink and eating the chiefs pop corn Smile, Wink & Grin just replaced the coupler on the front of my NW-2 reading the guy befor did a so so job replacing the original one but it was one he re-glued together so you know how well it held. It was a fixed coupler but I replaced it with a operating coupler. The rear is fixed coupler also.

Hope you all having a good day and prayers for all who need them.

Golly, sounds like lots of you having a time of it with the weather.  It was in the high 60s here today but with some rain.  Probably will turn to snow by the time it hits North Carolina.... just kidding Chief.

Easy day today, and ended up with some nice T-bones on the grill.  Tomorrow, I have a early case as well as the weekly meeting with the mens group at church.  Probably will go get set up, then take in some of the meeting and head back before the patient gets to pre-op.

Hope to check in with Y'all later in the week.  Will continue prayers for Char, and for Mike's Dad and family.  Have some other prayers to lift up.

God Bless,
Dennis

Chief-  Do you have an extra bed at your place?...  Whistling

Wow looks like we are really in for it here.  I just sent the wifey to pick me up an insulated coverall as I left all of mine at the cabin.  Arctic cold is supposed to follow the snow.

Hope everyone stays safe!

Good morning all, we had a nice unexpected rain yesterday but was probably unwelcome at the PGA golf tournament down at Torrey Pines further South from us.

Nice day today with a little more snohio on top of Mount Baldy above us.  We can look at it and don't have to shovel it.  That's the good part.

Oatmeal for breakfast today account Cherrios are out.  I like oatmeal on a cold morning.

Waiting for my leg pains to get better so I can walk more.  Don't know what is causing it but my Doc did not seem too concerned.  I guess you have to yell louder at the doctor's office to get attention.

later,

Ray

Lunch time,

Traindood, They are calling for about an inch or so for tonight and into the morning. I don't like that "or so". Tuesday into Wednesday is supposed to be real bad with the ice. We are in storm mode now at work.

Navyjack, Did you have any luck with the snow blower? Good luck on bidding on the bubbler.

Thoughts and prayers for all in need.

Hi GUYZ,

Cold start here this morning at 2 degrees.  Waiting for BIG ICE STORM.  Have Parent Teachers Conferences today from 1-830.  Got a few projects to build at school so time will go fast.  Took the PUP for 1.5 mile walk this morning, then she watched me run on treadmill.  I ran trains with her last nite for 2 hrs, NO PILE UPs.  She was happy.

CHIEF, I got one of the TRACKMOBILES in NYC, GREAT addition to layout.  I have it jockeying the flats with trailers on to the NS Intermodal crane.  Real cool both pieces.

Stay frosty,

sir james I

Good Morning

A cold 10 to start the day.

The guessers have raised the ante from 12 up to 18/ 20 inchs of snow. still better than an ice storm. groan. S.J.

MUSH MUSH Whistling

Rain coming in tonight and tomorrow.  Too warm for anything else. Thumbs Up  Contractor not coming untill afternoon. Sad  Needs to get his lumber here and under garage so he can work tomorrow in the rain.  He is a nice guy but a little messy.  Wifey wants it done!!!!!  Off to run errands.  Ran some trains yesterday as have to add all my MTH engines back into my remotes.  Had to reset remotes as would not add engines.  Have not gotten around into adding all the enignes.

BTW: anyone bought a Trackmobile?  Neatest little thing.  Lionel with TMCC.  Works great as a little switcher.  Pushes and pulls my piggybacks and double stacks.  Operates in tight corners and parks in a tiny space.  Might buy some more.

Later.

Smilehello guys, well we have a nasty storm coming.  gigi is getting bottled water and bags of salt.  i am glad i found a guy with a pickup and a blade on his truck for shoveling snow. he makes it reasonable also so i cant complain. i won two manual switches on ebay, so all i still need to get is about eight straights, two curved, and two bumpers in o27.  then my grandson can make me a portable layout, have bid on  bubbling water tank by k line.  will just have to be satisfied with o27 stuff.  frank are you still running k line allegheny.  do you like it.  please tell me about it. navyjack

Aloha all. Sunny and cold to begin the countdown to snowcaplyse (if you listen to the media blather). We 'never' close for weather though I'll bet I don't have many students in tomorrow evening's class meeting. It was fun running trains differently yesterday - moving the 'regulars' around.  Only one pile-up. Look at the expression on that Troublesome Truck!

Good morning all,

It is supposed to get really messy in SE Indiana starting this evening.  Nothing to report since last night.  I had the regualr fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening all,

Our spring-like weather ended last night; today it was back in the low 30s and I was very happy.  We had church in the morning and out to lunch afterwards.  In the afternoon I prepped some lights for a couple of the layout houses that are not already lighted.  I also helped our 7y/o son with some Lego projects and then he and I braved the cold to play some catch.  He had baseball practice tonight; the first practice in about three months so I wanted to help him shake the rust off.

I'm enjoying a cup of coffee right now, but I will be in bed shortly.

Good night,

Joe
