Joe - I fully support Cutler, it was The Bear's medical staff that benched him, not he himself. The guy couldn't put any weight on his leg when trying to attempt a pass... his last pass (a short 10 yard out) he bounced to the receiver and he threw off his back leg (not the one he injured) so IMHO that proved his knee was messed up.

Spring is here in OK, at least for today and tomorrow. The highs for today and tomorrow are in the low 70s. I would be happy about those temps if it was March, but not in January. We still may get some snow next week.
88/CNW/Fife – Start . I'm not saying Cutler should have played or not; however, we have learned he was injured. Would an injured Cutler be a liability to his team? Obviously, if it's P. Manning, T. Brady, or some other great QB, the team would want them in the game injured or not, but Cutler is not anywhere as good as those guys. My only issue with this whole thing is the way current and former players have been criticizing him. Jones-Drew sat out two games with a “bad” knee issue while his team was still in contention and we all know Deion Sanders never liked to hit or get hit so I'm not sure why he said anything. It was good to see Cutler's teammates defend him; Urlacher is a stand-up guy for doing that. Perhaps if the offensive line would not have allowed him to get hit so much he could have remained in the game. We'll really find out how tough Cutler is or isn't based upon his ability to come back from all the criticism. We'll also find out whether or not his coaches and bosses believe in him next year as well. End .
It’s time to get back to work. It will be a busy Friday for me, but I plan to get home at a decent hour.

Hey Chief: read your post on dust. here's a hint; use a100% cotton dish towel with warm water to wipe spackle from joints. even if you don't get it all, you can always use fine sand paper to finish. cuts way down on dust. Yankee Ingenuity !

hello guys...2.5 inches of gray snow on the ground. dont know why it is gray. anybody have a blue or grey lionel set that lionel brought out about ten years ago. mth had some neat items as well. does anyone have a civil war layout. someone i know has a tales of wells fargo set. that has got to be rare. navyjack

Mornin' Fellas.Was quite the view driving in this morning. As I pulled out of our driveway and headed down the road there were 4 trees down, they were down yesterday and prevented me from getting to work, but today some of the snow had melted and someone trimmed them back and it was almost like driving through a pine tree tunnel.Have to order a portable air compressor today so I can get started building the arched curved stone bridge for the layout. building it out of 2 pieces of 3/4 inch pine board, some 3/4 inch pine for the risers, and 1/8 inch plywood for the sides and arch tunnels. Think I have a way to do the arches so hopefully it works on the first try!Fife - Why a #6 Bears Jersey? You could just get him a Boller Ravens Jersey! Not much else going on...
Stayin' frosty boys. Ugly morning with imminent winter weather here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Think someone backed a GG1 over Pat's hamster. Kids home again today. Littlest princess caught Daddy's cold. After clearing the homestead, the Fifepup 2000 went out and made a quick C-note, then stopped for an aching muscle. Told him his #6 Bears jersey is on order...he got that.

Back at work getting the morning safety huddle info together. The only incident reported so far is a near miss flash when a trouble shooter was reconnecting. No injuries. Customer had a jumper across the meter and main breaker.
Navy jack, that is some snake. Gigi must really freak out.
Pat, I finally saw RFD TV. Duroing my rest period we had the TV on in the break room. We have a Dish not cable. I watch a show on Antique tractors. Very good show. I wish my cable company had it.

It is a dusting of Snohio in SE Indiana today. Work yesterday was hectic, and I have a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully I will get in a full week next week. Was up last night due to aftereffects of flu, I think, but since today is Friday, I am not too concerned. Lucas will be home this weekend. I think he wants to see situation with his grandfather for himself. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime and I can drive. Continued prayers to all who need them. I have been reading the latest Lionel Tinplate catalog, CTT, and Trains. Good article about railroads in civil war is in latest Trains. I see where the Lionel RTR catalog is being posted at some sites. I hope everyone has a good day.

The wife had a ladies' potluck at church tonight so I tended to all the kids myself. It went well: no injuries, bellies full, and the house still stands. The kids are all in bed and the wife just came home so it's time for us to relax together.
I'll be getting the shorts back out since tomorrow's high is 70.

Fife, Jack, Brent and Jim, thank you for the prayers and well wishes regarding my G.I. Problems. I really appreciate the kind thoughts. I felt well enough this morning to go to the memorial service for my friend, Jerry Blaine but did not attend the luncheon after. Did not want to push my luck. The service was well attended with a full chapel and friends from all over the country.
I have been in the hobby for over 40 years now and it was like a history lesson looking at all the faces today of the guys I have known over the years involved with trains. Of course there were some empty chairs too but that's life.
Hope to get myself in gear and get on with things tomorrow.

Evening all. I have a wall. That rhimes. Got my wiring done in the new wall. Mudded and ready to sand and re-mud. Man is it dusty. Plastic over the desk and etc. Still got through. House is white dusty too. Got extra fliters for furnace. Will change it tomorrow after sanding. Be glad when this project is through.
Got a new florissant fixture for garage. Instant on with bright white [but energy efficient] bulbs. Got it installed. Was a little work getting all those wires in a box as have three way switches.
Now for BoJangels chicken [left over from last night] and TV. Wifey at Rolesville 175th Aniv. Comm. meeting.

Its 22 and we had a dusting of snow today. No fresh coffe since this morning so I'll make a fresh pot. Banilla will be ready and the beacon will be humming..S.J.
Once again, we did not receive any snow here in OK. Today's high is 67 and tomorrow it will be 70. It's supposed to plummet after that and we may get some snow on Monday or Tuesday. This has been a very non-wintery winter for us.

It happened. The Hamster got off his cage and went on strike, resulting in no electricity getting to the computer on the Snohio Deflector shield. By the time we renegotiated the Hamster's contract it was to late. We got 4" of Snohio cannon snow.

hey john, when you are an alte cocker like me you get up early and dont sleep much. in illinois here there is a type of snake that comes out in the snow sometimes breaking its hibernation, called the bullsnake. it grows about eight feet long and can bite like heck, but is non poisonous. there is a big one in a burrow under a neighbors shed. we have seen his tracks in the snow. it is one reason why i bought the 30-30 henry. it comes under the deck of our house and freaks gigi out. in her country there is no such thing as a non poisonous snake. anybody own a lionel navy train. think that would be fun to run. cool cars with it. dont have a lionel crane. could makethe sharp o27 curves. what are the best lighted bumpers i can use for o27. any ideas would be appreciated. navyjack

Another snow day. Had to go in yesterday for a meeting. Today I am going to burn a vacation day. Got about 7 to 8 inches last night. Fought with a #^$&%@ snow blower shear pin that did not want to come out. After about 15 minutes of beating, banging and cussing it came out. Once I got the snow blower working it only took about 40 minutes to clear my driveway and sidewalks and a path for the neighbor to get her car out.
I picked up a ZW from a teacher's husband who was liquidating his collection. Need to get out the meter and tools and check it out. He gave it to me, if it checks out OK I'm going to give him some $$$ equal to what a similar one sells for on eBay. He didn't want to have to mess with shipping it so he didn't list it on eBay. He told me just to keep it, but I'd feel bad if I didn't give him something. Wish I had known he was selling all his other Lionel stuff before he put it on eBay.
