I normally drag one of the garbage cans into the house and start dumping the un-eaten pizza, empty chip bags, beer cans and newspapers as fast as I can.

You had to drag a can INTO the house?

Yes Roy.  Yankee thing.  Us Southerners keep our houses real clean and eat while our wives are away.

Off to bed.  Lucy and Finn are peed and ready.  Burg is not doing good with new brother.  Maybe male/male thing.  Told Pam that girls fit better.  Finn was just barking at Burg and wanting him to play.  Burg was looking the other way.  I sat down and rubbed Burg and talked to him.  Finn came up and I was rubbing him too.  Got close to Burg's face and Finn got a reprimand.  Burg seems not to bite him but lets him know he is not happy with him.  If Finn is in the mudroom, Burg will not come out past him.  Will work on that.  Lucy and Finn play hard when they are outside.  Burg just just lays around and watches.

Got early Middle School graduation thing.  Short speach and smile.

Good night.

Morning to All,

LAZ - congrats on another year in the books.

Chief - Finn is so cute.  Our little dog will be 14 next month.  She really rules the roost. Friends kept her while we were in NOLA for a family reunion and she came home with a 'tude' - would not eat much for a few days.  Yesterday her appetite came back with a vengance, she wolfed down her dinner and was begging for more.

Jonadel - know you are glad the Mrs. is home.  When my sweet wife is away I usually need a forklift and a rollback to clear the debris

88 - Hope therapy gets a little easier as it goes along.  Repeat after me... "Power tools and ladders are not my friends!"

Have a great day,

Mitch

Another fairly quiet night collecting photons. Did spent some more time going up and down the stairs trying to help sleuth a receiver problem.

Learned a bit more about 1122 switches last night. The 2 wheel pilots seem to like at least one length of straight track going into the switch. Going to have to scrap my original track plan and go a foot larger to get two complete loops. The pre-war 2224W tenders do not like the switches, and I had heard this. I got both by default w/ a loco, the 1664 and the 2026. I can pull the steps of the metal one. The plastic body already has a couple broken off. The trucks on the metal one have been altered and short out at the switches. I think I can combine the two to get one that works w/ the switches.

Well time to finish up the shift here and find a pillow.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a rainy 68 degrees. I am getting tired of rain. Going up to 78 today with more rain to come.

Today is a busy day. I have errands to run and then to the Fitness Center, this afternoon for a workout. This is the way to keep the therapy working. I think I need to stat drinking more water. So, I am told.

Dining car is here and it's a Cheerios breakfast. Getting past due for a nice omlet.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Aloha all from a sunny and warm Chicago. The rain is on its way east. Congratulations on another year, Laz. A nice evening running trains and watching Top Gear re-runs whilst the bride was out.  Nice pick-up, Banks!

Leafblowers? Garbage cans? The dogs usually eat anything edible off the floor. The rest is just 'atmosphere' Wink

Good morning all,

Day three deep in the heart of the South land at an undisclosed location.  Trainng goes well as it mostly rehash from last year.  Food is good and we are eating well.  Saucy wench is enjoying life of leisure.  Did some shopping last night and some more tonight.  Did watch "Glee".  Interesting ending.  World Cup starts soon.  Go USA!  (sorry John Bakeer).  Good food on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL anytime with secret homing device, and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Happy Wednesday Afternoon....

Fife, you are evil...my kinda guy..!

89 today, low(er) humidity, day 2 on the HD.  Cool in the AM, blazin’ in the afternoon.  NOT my type of weather...Banged Head

Jack, you ask why a new(er) Harley?  They say, bigger is better..I’m looking at a 2004 98 ci Wide Glide...and its better road manners will be a blessing...It’s tough on a Sportster, if I were to stay around town, that’s one thing, but I plan on doing a couple of trips this year and want to enjoy the trip, the Sporty is too high revving for that.

Nice puppy, Chief.  Cats are better...and smarter Smile,Wink, & Grin.

Mike C, if you need to retreat to a northern safe house, stop on by...no rebs here.

OldTimer, Hey, you take MY place here in He**, I mean Florida.  I think I’m moving back north soon....

And youse guys, with the missing wives: When MY wife comes home, it’s CLEANER than she left...that’s cuz I’m the one that CLEANS!!

Mrs. is working 2 days a week and going to school for CNA.  There is hope after all...thank you God!

Welcome Back NavyJack!

That’s all from the pits...check ya later.

old timer FL. nice to visit but can think of better places to get out of the cold. It not to bad here maybe a month in the winter and close to a lot of things. (water 2 hours to coast lakes a lot closer maybe 30 minutes) Mountains maybe again 2 hrs) Big model railroad club here all scales n-G. train museum has a lot to desire but its a good start or I just happened to see part of it not sure yet as haven't really been to it other than by it one day by mistake.

Not a lot going on today did try to do my breaks last night but realized real quick I didn't have at least one tool that was needed couldn't get calipers off had allen wrenches both metric and standard but just didn't seem to fit right. and figured by time I got all what I needed it would be cheaper to let someone else to do it. will buy some tools little by little so next time I have correct tools including impact wrench/drill so can take wheels off and put back on easier I do have a compressor so might as well it will help for other items also.

Didn't do any real train items today other than mailed a check for some parts and look at some trains for sale but didn't bid on any lol

hope all have a good evening

Good afternoon all,

Dbaker, thanks for the Pawn Shop and Vegas pictures.  Was that Shumlee behind the counter?  Is he just an employee or is he Big Hoss's son?  Now I can see where all those guys got so many tatoos with that place next door.  Did you see anymore of the guys on the show?  Those two younger ones need some wide load signs.

Chief, sounds like your place has gone to the dogs.

Pat and old timer, Don't know why the squirrels are eyeballing me.  I would get the booby prize in a beauty contest.  You're right about the racoons, they like to wash things in the water.

One more day of school for the grandson.  He is with us today after we picked him up from school.  Says he went to Disneyland a while back with kids from school.  Hope they got a discount.  I think it's around $83 now for adult admission.  I doubt that Walt would have approved of that.

Navyjack, Welcome back!

later,

Ray

DONE DEAL !!!!!  Now to unstack my trains .... rent a uhaul .... put all my train stuff in the truck with my personals and guns ... change my bank account to florida ..... leave NO note where I'm at .... how soon can we do this ?  ......   ..... LOL !

Seriously though ... we used to go to DeBary alot ... quite a few times a year ... fell in love with the area .... 25 minutes from Daytona Beach .... 35 minutes from Orlando .... quiet peaceful beautiful friendly town and folks .... I made alot of fabulous great friends there ... was going to go ahead and buy a condo way back then there ... spanish style with the red tile roof .... double car garage at super low price .... but dumb me let my wife talk me into waiting until we were ready to move permantly ... prices probably skyrocketed now . I felt 20 years younger and better there than here .... you'll see ... the aches and pains from the conditions up here will change your mind .... and the crime rate here in the north has escalated beyond belief .... and the people are alot more nasty and not 1/10 as friendly as almost any florida resident . Not to even mention the lousey half ripe fruit and veggies we have to buy here ... and oh man do I miss all that fresh seafood there .... Dinner and the beautiful ocean and lakes there .... nothing like a breakfast snack or lunch watching the dolphins in the morning with pelicans flying overhead at New Symerna Beach ... fresh clean nonpolluted ocean breezes ... oh did I forget to mention metal detecting on the beaches and picnics on them ... although it was a pain haveing to wade through all those women in bikinis to get in the water and walking down the streets of daytona and miami ... yea right .... Cool  Disney World and Universal Studios 50 minutes away at super low resident admission . Daytona races anytime you feel like it ... at a discount . You gung ho nascar fans would probably want to come drop in on ole old timer alot .... meet the drivers and get bucu autographs . Lower than heck priced  cruises and boats to be bought at give away prices compared to here .... deep sea fishing .... I'd better stop .... LOL . To me Florida is  HEAVEN

Got one.  We named him Ned.  He adopted us.  Had a colar on but took it off.  Been fixed and all.  Big orange guy.  Gets along with Lucy and Finn.  Not Burg.  Lives under garage over Pam's vehicle on an old rug.  Stays under the shelter a lot during the day.  Visits when Burg is not out.  As I said, he adopted us.  Bought him a big "auto" feeder.  Load it up and he has plenty while we are gone to lake house.

Finn and Burg are doing better.  Burg still not too happy being around him.  Pam says he was the same way with Lucy until one day, they were playing together.  Lttle rascal can bark loud for 8 weeks old.  That is good.  Want him to rattle the windows if a stranger comes up.

No rain [was forecasted].  Will soaker hose garden tomorrow AM as going to be real hot for a few.  Ground is moist but this will be a little icing on the cake.  Got to mow.  Bet I have to mow twice when I get to the lake.

Tired.  Resting.  Hope to sleep late tomorrow AM.

Later.

Howdy guys - storms again today, but it's clear right now.  Read some about some early trains this evening - mostly The Rocket and The Planet.

DJ - Maxwell's Silver Hammer Laugh

Laz - I remember you talked about these awards last year and maybe for the past few years and I always think the same thing - SUPER COOL!  I wish I had something like that from a teacher, I'll bet that really makes a kid smile for years to come - you da MAN!

Welcome home, Navy - hope this one works out better.  My Dad isn't too keen on Windows 7 so far, but he's not very computer-literate.

Mike - you can drive all you want, broheim, you know that - always!

So many posts - prayers for us all and our intentions Thumbs Up

Nice chat with RT.  Waiting for Tardis Control to clear the flight plan.  We have multigrain chips and low-fat peanut butter, or RT made some chocolate pie for us.  I suspect there will be banilla and Butter PEE-KAHN icecream too Smile

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Mid 80's and sunny today.

NavyJack - good to see you back.  You have a lot of reading to do to catch up.

Crusing around on e-bay tonight looking for the second 200 series Alco for the project I've got in mind.  Noted a couple of possibilites that I'll watch over the next couple of days.

Laz - The kids really appreciate special awards like that.  When my boys were in Cub Scouts, we'd make up special awards for the Pinewood Derby.  Plaster animal casts painted gold and glued to oak bases.  The eagle was for most aerodynamic, the turtle for best brakes ( I think we had a special run off for this one),  lion for most awesome, etc. They went over well.

All for now.

Evening all!

Lots o' posts today. Too tired to catch up.

Welcome back Navyjack. Nice present with the new PC for you!

Got a little rain today and temps in 80's. A bit more rain tomorrow. Got enough today to learn the gutters on rear of house plugged. So got out the ladder and a hose and cleaned it out. Downspout goes underground to clear a sidewalk and then comes up on the driveway. Of course the underground part was choked with leaves. It has to rain hard to flush them out so today they just jammed up. Got it all cleared after about an hour of cleaning and pushing a hose through it.

A busy but hopefully an easy day tomorrow.

Have a great evening all!

Regards, Roy

 Good Evening!!  Busy Day....

Glad to see NavyJack is back online, good news.

Took the Buick into the shop today, having Rack & Pinon replaced, and rear shocks.  Think I will need to find another job.  All the election results coming in, result, what a mess on the Propositions!  Going to be interesting to see what happens next !Banged Head

Then Chris made plans to make a Road Trip to Texas.  Have a friend that lives in Anna, so he is going to go and see him.  (Northeast of Dallas).  He is going to drive the El Camino, I dont think he will have any problem, their is less than 30k on the drive train, and everything else is in good shape.  He is leaving Friday morning and will be back in about week.  Tonight he wanted to buy a CB radio.  It is really surprising how hard they are to find here.  All over the place on the web, but not in many stores.  And Lord help if you want to ask anyone a question about them, clerks sure don't know!!  We inded up with one, so guess I will be installing it on Thursday.

FIL came home from the hospital today.  He has been there for just about a week.  Had a valve replaced in the heart.  He is really doing well!  Especially given that he is 83.  So we have been spending time in the support role.  Especially Kay.  Needless to say we are really appreciative of the care and blessing of the recovery.

Ray, can't believe your pool is that warm already, ours is still cold, but I havn't put the Solar Blanket on yet either.

Think will call it a day, will be crazy around here tomorrow with coordinating getting the Buick back, Kay's involvement with her parents, and getting the CB taken care of, and all the other things to help Chris get underway.

Take care and God Bless!!

Don

Today is a busy day . I have some errands to run  and the usual chores to do. This afternoon should be easy.  I think I will spend some time outside and take a few pictures. Have not done that for awhile.

Aloha from a sunny Crystal Lake where it seems everyone but me is sleeping in after celebrating the hockey win last evening. No matter what you heard, I swear I didn't flip any cars this time. Should be a nice parade tomorrow. Welcome back, Navyjack.
