Afternoon all
Just a quick check in during lunch. Nice morning but rain predicted for later. Put a new lift pump on the truck last evening. Smelled like diesel fuel till shower time. I will be busy Saturday hopefully cleaning up the yard at the property we're going to sell. The back has returned to jungle status.
May God bless
Jim
Well once again the comradreship (sp?) of the guys on this forum is absolutly fantastic. I have always felt that if I were to make a road trip around our great country, I would have plenty of places to stop at along the way and say "Howdy" and be able to get a cool drink and great conversation. As a result of me mentioning about Chris making a road trip to Texas, (left this morning), I received a sincere offer of assistance if needed and a "rest stop" offer from another forum guy. Really makes you feel good!! Thanks so much, I will be in touch!
Ray, No I didn't make it out to Ontario train show. Thought that the only thing I might buy would be some light bulbs, and not hardly worth the trip. So spent the day at home really relaxing, and enjoyed it.
Lee, Can feel your concerns, I know a lot of here are really strugling. I sure wish the economy would get better soon! This is probably the worst time that I can remember.
Need to get to work, so hope everyone has a great day, and stay healthy!!
Don

Morning all, June gloom again today but it keeps it cool here. Went walking in a mist.
Dbaker, one of my Thursday night train buddies has been out of work now for about 9 months and he has been trying all this time to find a job. He has degrees and lots of experience in the aerospace industry plus clearances but it is just tough right now.
Heard about a new web site for ACL/SAL/SCL modelers. They have some kind of forum but haven't been able to log on yet. I have a friend in the East who joined it. He models SAL.
Lakers lost game 4
USC getting slapped for infraction of the rules of NCAA, Will be penalized according to the LA Times.
No train running yesterday. Might try it later today.
Have a good one,

Hi Guys
Weather is still great, doors open no AC
Granny slept most of the afternoon, so I goofed off.
Something that I've gotten very good at. Banilla for the thingy gang.
S.J.
Hello all,
Navyjack , glad to see you back.
Busy week, Got another 370 bales of hay in This afternoon. Barn is full. So far got over 700 bales from 2 fields that produced less than 400 bales last year. One more field to cut. It probably will make 350 bales+/- Will sell all that as well as second cutting that is all ready well started in first field that was cut..
Not much on the train front. Grandkids were here and we ran Thomas and James as well as some Gilbert Steamers (They like to see the smoke)
Need to get some flowers and tomatoes planted. Weather has been so against me this year.
Did I mention I'll be at the beach week after next?
Going to bed soon, arms hurt.
Prayers for all who may need them

Evening all!
Missus and I went and had dinner in the bar area of a nice restaurant. We learned a few years ago if you eat in the bar - you can split meals, just order appetizers, etc., and they don't gripe. If you do the same thing in the restaurant, they want to hit you with fees for splitting a plate, whatever. In the bar, the bartender is always there and you do not deal with "dissappearing waitress/waiter" syndrom. If something is wrong with the food you get it fixed fast!
Also picked up a new suit. First one I bought in many years. Fit was perfect!
Hope everyone's Friday is going well. All post school activities (i.e. drumline camp) are done. Whole family can sleep late tomorrow!
LAZ - another year completed - enjoy your summer. Mitch should be done soon (all that training!).
Have a great evening all!
Regards, Roy
Happy Summer Laz! Mitch! Any other edumacators out there!
Wife's doctor thinks her rash is a reaction to sunlight and bactrim she was on, from driving around a lot in the van - lots of sun exposure through the windshield. Sounds like we will be getting a UV tint on the van. Her hemoglobin was down a point in a week, they think due to her body dealing with the allergic reaction? Hoping this all resolves soon. They did a punch biopsy of the rash on her neck to make sure.
Tardis is ready, so lets hit it boys!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
hello guys, mr. banks, sounds like you are a busy guy. thank you for your labor. few of us realize how important what the food producers do, is to us all. hard to figure how guys like you and pat have time for trains(glad you have). when i was in navy, was never able to take our 30 day leave every year. cant remember how many times it was refused as no relief available. plenty of politicians around drawing a paycheck..... navyjack
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Cloudy and 70 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna "edge" then mulch the flower beds this morning. Either going to HavredeGrace/Perryville or a poker game tonight. Waiting for a call. Either way, guys' night out. Had nice dinner with wifey last night (surf and turf ).
Fifepup made it thru the whole week in school. Only has 2 full days (finals) and 2 half days to go. Had stitches removed yesterday, and now has to wear a boot (or aircast) for the next 5 weeks. No one can believe he isn't in a full cast. Best part is, he can go in the pool in two weeks. When he gets to whining, I simply remind him of what the alternatives would be, and that shuts him up.
RockIsland - Try GOO GONE. It removes tar off my cars.
Phillyreading - Good luck on the homefront. Perhaps a move to Roseyville? You may be able to buy a whole block of homes for the value of 1 FLA residence.
Who is coming to Baltimore for the TCA convention in 2 weeks?
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 70 degrees. Going up to 83 today with , maybe, some rain, later.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of chores to do and will be busy most of the morning. Maybe, I can relax this afternoon. Not much else going on.
Dining car is here and it's the usual Cheerios breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Aloha all from a grey and humid Crystal Lake. Hang in there, Lee. Praying for your circumstances. Glad my fave Red Wings fan is doing well, Sir J. DJSpanky, I'll be curious to see what'll it take for Notre Dame to join a conference. Love the avatar, Brutus! After all my complaining, I went to the big parade: Off for coffee with the guys. Youngest has a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese today - yoicks! Then a symphony concert tonight. Tomorrow, I serve with young ones at church whilst the bride does some readings. Then family party for the youngest. And the daughter's boyfriend arrives from Ohio in the middle of this. Busy weekend I guess. No train running.

Oldest grandson's graduation is going on right now, not enought tckets for all so here I am yes granny's there. Charlie storms are expected but we could get lucky. Nay probably not....S.J.
Good morning all,
It is a warm day in another undisclosed location in the South. Visiting with relatives. Wife's nephew has '66 Karmann Ghia which we are taking for a spin today. May be doing recon work on coastline as well. Travel may be too much for suacy wench as she is under the weather. Too much Southern cooking lol. World Cup game today. USA USA USA!!!! I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
NAVYJACK ... Pat overdid it in the heat and had a spell of woozey he says ... then stayed out somewhere by himself .... it could have resulted in heat stroke !
Doug ... is'nt Crystal Lake the name of that place in the friday the 13th movies ? Think it was ... there's no Jason's there are there ?
thanks wes for setting me straight about pat. i am glad he was alright, i thought the yankees got him. p.s. crystal lake has got someone worse than jason, my cousin. ha.ha. wes as a logging enthusiast, ever seen the bachmann on30 shay? anyone have any experience with this? navyjack

Roy, hope they don't allow smoking in that bar. Wouldn't want to eat with smoke in my face.
Good afternoon all, been having a problem with my MTH Z4000 transformer starting last night. The left hand throttle no longer will regulate the amount of voltage going in the track. You get up to 27 volts which is not normal. Its only rated for 20 volts. You get about 20 volts the instant you crack the throttle. Probably a microprocessor is blown or something like that. Called local hobby shop and they don't fix here. Says you have to send back to MTH. I sent an E mail today for return authorization. DCS guru, Barry Brokowitz told me that my problem might have been caused because I have another transformer (Lionel V type) wired to the same track. He said that was a no no. If there is any way that I can reset this thing myself, I sure don't know about it. There is not much in the instruction book on trouble shooting. The right hand throttle on the unit works normally.
In the mean time, I could use my old Lionel ZW but I'm afraid to run these new electronic engines with it without some fuse protection in case of shorts. The MTH unit already has a fast blow cirucuit breaker built in.
Have to talk to Dbaker and see if he knows anything about this stuff.
Pat, hope you are feeling better today. That did not sound too good about being woozy. Take care of yourself.
Have a good weekend all,
Good Evening
Hot and humid, but no rain yet.
A great aftrnoon at Charlies, all module, dog bone at one end connected to a fifty foot long oval. Three main lines and all outdoors. Charlies wife was a great hostess with food from the grill. I am tired but it's a fun tired. Banilla for those on board the thingy. Oh heck I'll toss in some A & Ws too....S.J.

Ray - very few places here allow indoor smoking any more. All restaurants smoke free in our area.
Re your Z-4000, there may not be any help for you on this. Not sure if the Z caused the problem. We have had our club Z-4000 fail the same way and it was not tied to anything else. Hate to say it, but I have been running my stuff for years on ZW's and no breakers, etc. But very few wrecks on my simple 8x12 layout (two loops). You should be fine until you get the Z-4000 fixed.
Not too hot here today. Cleaned the pool filter and cleared some accumulation (last 3 York trips) from the train room/layout. Had a veggies heavy dinner with missus at Black Eyed Pea restaurant, and we split some great fired catfish.
Son leaves on Church Mission trip to New Mexico early tomorrow. I have to travel on a quick burst through Wash DC and Chicago this coming week. Looks like no time in schedule to hook up with anyone like Doug M in Chi Town, but I will give a call if time opens up.

You lucky (fife)dog you!
But I shouldn't complain - all I have to do to shut mine up is ask him what is going on in his world
SJ thank you for coming early with Andy to help me setup. Could not have done it without you.
Also a special thanks to you for making it a special day for Bella with the Williams Girls GG1.

Awesome module, Charlie! Looks and sounds like you guys had a great day
Worked 5 hours OT this morning and was glad I got to work early, as the Susan Koman race was today and they were selling parking on our lot! I got a good space though. Bought a small pressure washer on the way home and a couple bottles of mold/mildew cleaner - need to clean the siding and gutters on the house and in a couple months I'll clean and strip the deck before restaining it. I need to replace a few boards this year or else flip them over - depends on how rough they are on both sides. Also need to fix the handrail in two places where it is loose - it's not dangerous now, but has to be fixed before it becomes so.
Tardis is ready and I see the beta capsule on the screen along with multiple beacons, so it must be time to fly
(Lost post, will try again.)
Charlie, really awesome! How often does it go up? Imagine all the neighbors get involved as well. Really sweet! (SJ not looking too bad either, trains and fresh air, what a perfect prescription.
Ray, Roy has forgotten more than I know. I sure his advice will be right on! I am running my layout with a ZW, (the newer Controller version, with bricks.) I have an older zw I power my accys and switches with.
Chris has made it to "Waa Cheeta" Falls Texas. He drove there from Gallup NM today. He's not having any problems, was complaining about road construction, but the El Camino seems to be doing good. I suggested that he might want to change the pronunciation to Witchita Falls, but not sure he is willing. Tomorrow he goes into Anna Tx, (just north of Dallas), and then will probably leave there on Tues or Wed to start back. He plans on stopping by Phoenix and Yuma on the way home, but I dont think he realizes that Phoenix is 200 miles out of his way. But it is HIS trip, so let him figure it out. (BTW, Mom is sitting on pins and needles, coming up with all kind of "What Ifs".
Tomorrow may get the day off and will continue the patio furniture project. Resurfacing all the Redwood stuff. Thought about replacing some but when checked on some of the prices, I couldn't believe it. And the thickness of the wood was considerably less. So the belt sander is doing just fine!
Been kinda cool here, we are experiencing our "June Gloom", I don't think I even saw the sun today. But then it is suppose to be in upper 90's by Monday/Tuesday.
Talked with submmbob last night. Its always great to "talk" to a voice from the people around here. He told me his Dad was in the USAF during the Viet Nam War, and was a Commanding Officer for a F4 Maintanence Group on a base in Thailand. What's strange is that I was an Auto Pilot Technician on the F4, and was stationed at a base in Thailand during that time. Interesting !!
Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow, take care!
i really enjoyed the pics and the thought to share your hobby with your neighbors. the chain link fence also acted as a security barrier(how clever). your skill, and abiity to set up a module so quick is remarkable. thanks. we have a "bella" in our family too. ours is sicilian though. i have been thinking lately about setting up a small layout with on30. see i cant hold much weight, and i believe the radius is small. i was thinking about a small logging setup. i have been inspired by wes. also the bachmann trains are low cost and super available. any experience with on30? navyjack
Aloha from a grey and cool Crystal Lake. Survived Chuck E Cheese and the symphony Now ready to go to church. Long day serving ahead. But I'm looking forward to ti. What a great gathering, Charlie!. Sir J, you rock with the girls' GG1. Roy (and anyone else visiting Chicago), you're always welcomed. Ole Timer, yep, it's the same-named Crystal Lake as in the movie. Though this lake is a tad bigger. Those Bachman trains are very nice, NavyJack.
It is a humid 70 degrees. Rained last night. Looks like more is on the way. Going up to 84 today.
Today is a busy day. Lots of chores to do. Nascar race this afternoon. And then there is the ballgame. Indians have been doing better. Maybe I can relax for awhile this afternoon.
Dining car is here with the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
