Sunny and 80 today.

The car owner/driver decided to go ahead and run opening night of State Fair Historic Half Mile dirt track after all.  He has decided that not everybody can say that they raced against Ken Schrader, so this is an opportunity not to pass up.  If the weather holds, we will be racing tomorrow night.  We are running a limited late model.  The class is open to unlimited late models too.  We are going to be handicapped by horsepower.

Did some copper plumbing this evening.  No leaks - at least not any big ones.  I'll know for sure tomorrow after it has been under pressure for a while.

Still have not come up with a reason not to put the MKT, NYC, and UP stock cars in the 2010 catalog on order.  Can anybody out there think of one?

Later dudes.

Hi All

A beautiful afternoon. Garage is clean, granny even washed her car. S.J.

Does that mean it didn't snow and finally got above freezing. Whistling

Back from lake house and up early.  Got meeting again in Raleigh at 8 AM.  This is getting too much like a job.  Will not get back till middle of the afternoon.  See all have been busy chatting as had to read pages.

Banks, started farming yet?  About ready to take second batch of tomato plants out of greenhouse.  Had to water and spray those already in the garden.  Some little fly was "sucking" on them and the pepper plants.

Have a good one.  Later.

 Morning to All,

Just stopping in for a quick cup.   Spring time is a busy time for me at work.  I have managed to keep up with the yard work so far. The other AM I went out to my shed to look for something and took a nasty spill on the ramp that was covered with frost. Of course it was dark out, so there I lay with a flashlight trying to decide if I was really hurt or not. Turns out I had nothing worse than some scraped knuckles and a sore shoulder.  That'll teach me to think before I act.  Looking forward to York next week.  Probably won't buy much but love to walk and look.

Take care,

Mitch

TGIF

Thankfully even though I missed that tax day thing, it will be back next year.  Smile  Maybe Murphy and I could have a do over party with the leftovers from St. Patrick's Day.

We had supper with another train enthusiast and formite last night.  Tom Schmidt and his wife are in Buckeyeland for a short vacation including the riding of our many beautiful rails to trails.

Have a good day and see you down the tracks.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 55 degrees. Going up to 76 today with some sunshine. Maybe a little rain, later.

Today is a busy day. I have PT this morning at 11am. When I get home, wife has to do some grocery shopping. She loves that job. Then, I will relax. Need to spend some time in the train room.

Had a great Birthday. Thanks, LAZ. Two a year is fun, as long as the numbers stay the same.

Dining car is here for a Cheerios breakfast. Good fuel.

Buckeye...... TGIF

Y'all have a great Friday.

Mornin' boys.  Increasingly cloudy and 54 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Wifey and I were s'posed to go to the shore, but the weather forecast poo-pood that.  She and I did get down to the dock yesterday, and we did raise and furl the jib, ran the new sheets through the blocks, and stopped by our canvas lady's slip to pick up our main sail cover and tiller cover.  The Admiral is very happy with her fleet.

Pirate  Stay foamy.

Good morning all,

It is a cloudy day in SE Indiana with rain on the way and a temperature drop.  Mowed the yard last night.  Probably go to a movie this weekend.  Almost was late to work due to a carpool mix up, but made it ok.  Two games to ref tomorrow.  Regular fare on the dining car.  TBIL and I can drive again.  Zucchini bread will be out of the oven.  Hmmmm....good.  I hope everyone has a good day.  SFR and AJF are racing again at Long Beach.

Keep on training,

Aloha all. mmmm, zucchini bread.  I'll have a grab some when Mike isn't looking. Grey and cooler here. Didn't know it was going to rain. Going to pop in and out of a faculty conference today. It's right across the street. Brutus, can we please get a new Tardis like the one on the new Dr. Who? Can't we trade it in with a Cash-for-Time-Machines program? Mahalo! The bride is buying a new fridge today using some weird state rebate.  Glad you're OK, Mitch. Buckeye, my neighbor tells me there's real money to be made turning in a tax cheat. Know any?

Good morning all!

Sunny here, high 70's today, and chance of some scattered showers late today and through Saturday.

Doug M - Somehow I have managed to miss every rebate from either the USG or the state. Had to buy a new washer earlier this year and two months later the rebate program came out. Had to buy a car last year and missed the program there too. Grumpy And then unlike Buckeye I did not miss the tax day Grumpy.

I have a co-worker stuck in Paris and a good friend (retired co-worker) stuck in the UK due to the volcano. All flights cancelled. They were not thrilled when I told them of a program on volcanoes last week stated that the average eruption lasts two weeks. I can think of worse places to be stuck...

Taking some time off today and Monday so I can rest up for York! Looking forward to seeing the gang there!

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

Afternoon all

Just a quick check in during lunch.  It is cloudy here and they are talking of rain.  Saturday is still fairly open at this point.  I hope to do some more painting on the 762 whistle this weekend got the white color coat / base coat on last night and baked it overnight.  The green color coat is all that is left painting wise.

Got to go.  May God bless

Good afternoon everyone.  It is date night with my bride.  Was hoping to take in a movie, but we will head out for Sushi and then come home to watch "Blind Side".  A friend of mine did a movie that is out called "Letters to God".  I wanted to see it, but bride doesn't want to go to a movie and cry.

Will check in tomorrow.  Wife is working then and I will be home alone with the kids.  We may do the Home Depot thing and some honey dos around here.
God Bless,
Dennis

Howdy guys!  Just a little rain here and there today - not the storms that were predicted, which is a good thing.  Doug - I see you got a new fridge?  What kind?  We've had ours a week or so and it's a good one, but we can't figure out where the freezer temperature control is hidden?  How dumb, huh?  I'm starting to wonder if it's behind the icemaker?

Not much going on today, just work.  Robert England is on Bones (watching on dvr) - pretty sure he's a red herring Laugh

Tardis is all ready to go, so let's get it moving!

Evening all.  Got back from meeting in time to fish for an hour at the pond.  Then mowed grass as I have to ride in our Rolesville Recreation Day Parade.  Then had to return call to one of my old employees [retired].  Got a winner with Choochoo.  Got a big item I will show when it gets here.   Time for some popcorn and then some sleep.  Later.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 46 degrees. Sunny. Going up to 64 today with sunshine. We had some wind and heavy rain last evening. Quit about 10pm.

Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then, I will relax in the train room. Nascar race this afternoon from Texas. Should be a good one. Big race is tomorrow. Need to do some train dusting again.

PT went well yesterday. I need to keep it at 3 times a week. Especially, the bike riding. This keeps the legs loose. Can't stiffen up. Too much pain. After a few minutes of exercise, pain goes away and I feel a lot better.

Dining car has rolled in and it's the usual for breakfast.

WAKE UP , EVERYBODY

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Chuck.

Aloha all. Looks like a nice but cool day here. Off to church to hear a favorite pastor of mine, Mike Breaux, speak at a mens breakfast. The bride kindly is off to the soccer field with the youngest. Brutus, the bride went off with a GF to buy the fridge yesterday morn. I gave her measurements and everything. Last eve I made the mistake of musing 'say, what were the dimensions of the fridge you bought?'  They never checked... and it's gigantic. Looks likes there's 1/4 inch of clearance all around. Glad I'll be at work when it arrives Monday.

Dark and gray skies, maybe 40 today.

No  special plans except to pick up our new couch, furniture store wanted 79.95 to deliver it. Salesman said we deliver anywhere in Michigan for that price and I said, for two miles I'll come get it. TTFN....S.J.

Big storm last nite has cooled down temps.  It is 51 with a high of 54.  Forcast for YORK is 64-72 from Thursday-Saturday.  Pretty good.  Ran trains for 2 hrs last nite NO PILE UPs.  Maybe fishin today if creeks aren't to dirty?  If not go to Mass then out to eat.

CHUCK, keep up the good work, gotta get those legs going.  Tour de France this year?

SJ - I have a similar story. The wife purchased 5 cabinets from Lowe's last week. The cabinet Co. wanted $140.00 to deliver them directly to the house. We save the $140.00 by picking them up at the Lowe's store, 6 Mi away.

Ya Pat and the cabinet co. probably shipped them direct to the store. The same thing they could have done to your address. Unless Lowes had them stocked somewhere which is doubtful.

Chief will be happy with our purchase,  Broyhill made in NC. Don't tell him though.

Good morning all,  went for walk this morning and saw a yard sale with a big doll collection.  Don't know anything about dolls but I knew a train collector that used to collect them also.  Hope I didn't pass up anything worth a lot.  Trains is about all I can handle with collecting.

Chief, where are the pictures of all the fish you caught?  Like to see some when you do catch something.

Dennis, Sushi sounds interesting but I have never been able to bring myself to eating raw fish.  I guess you could call me a hypocrite though since I used to eat raw oysters on occasion but since they are bottom dwellers, not safe to eat anymore.

Chief, in your honor, I am playing a CD while on the computer with the song, "Are You From Dixie?" played by the Heliotrope Ragtime Ochestra.  Good stuff!

Our Thursday night gig with my buddies for trains and BS went off OK but one guy was a no show which is 25% of our group.  The other three of us had fun though.  No pile ups but did not turn a wheel on the trains.  It's safer that way.  Instead  looked at books and new CD's and DVD train videos which we never got around to account too late.  Played a song for one buddy called " I Don't Want To Go Home"  Almost have to set the train room on fire to get him out of there.  Good thing I'm retired cause I don't get to bed until late sometimes.  They are great friends though.  That's why I put up with them.

Need to set out some tomato plants soon if I want any.  Pat, what's the best fertilizer for them?  A friend of mine used to just use steer manure but it was probably aged otherwise it would burn the plants I guess

Went to outing last Tuesday with Church group to visit a member's home up in the hills here.  Nice old house from the grand days of life in Southern California.  It reminded you of something you might see from the old Hollywood movies.  You almost expected to see Valentino walk through the door.  Got two big bags of avacados from our gracious host.  She also has chickens and gets her own eggs.  That's really unusual in the city but her place is isolated and she has some acerage around it.

TTOS train meet tomorrow.  Hope there is something worthwhile there.  Haven't had much luck at those meets this year.

Got to run now, have a good weekend,

Ray
