Yes, and wifey pulled that on me when we replaced our livingroom couch with a monster leather one.  Went to pick it up.  Had to tie it in as longer than the pickup.  Got home, she was going to help me carry it in.  Could not move it in the pickup.  Ended up getting 4 neighbors to help me move it inside.  BTW: would hardly fit through the doors.  For the lake house, I was smarter.  Got "Plumber" the local shade tree mechanic, yard worker, tree cutter and etc., to come to the house.  Gave him the old couch for him and his buddy to move the new one in [was not as heavy and big as the one here].

Moral of the story.  Don't volunteer to pickup furniture until you have seen the furniture or have a plan to have help.

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 50s.  Breezy day but good day at soccer fields.  Good, clean play.  One game was a blow out and the other was a tie.  Went to see "Clash of the Titans" last night.  It was ok.  I had waffles and bacon on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  TBIL anytime.  SFR and AJF not having a good weekend at Long Beach.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good afternoon everyone.  Took kids to daughter's ballet practice this morning and then Home Depot.  have to make a shooting bench for the sheriff's range.  Just about done.  Also, picked up a few more trees as I got a 2 for1 coupon.  Tired as it is hot outside.  Need to check weather for weed and feed.  Been a long week.  Finally getting around to it.

We ended up watching The Blind Side last night.  Wife was not in the mood to cry as Letters to God is a real tear jerker.
Better get back to work.
God Bless,
dennis

May you feel better, Brute. Tough to be sick on a weekend. Back from visiting art galleries in a very small town.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear and sunny 48 degrees. Going up to 74 today with some sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I am taking it easy and relaxing. Two Nascar races from Texas. Saturday's race was rained out and re-scheduled for 9pm tonite. After the Sunday race. Lots of racing today. I may watch the afternoon race from the train room. Need more dusting.

Dining car is here and we have the usual for breakfast.

Aloha all. Sunny and cold today. Looks like a long church day packing seeds to send to Africa and other things. Maybe I'll catch the end of the race.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & a bit chilly here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Not much on the plate today.  Took fifey-wifey to HavreDeGrace, MD yesterday.  Great location to check out RAILS & SAILS.  Lots of trains going over the Susquehanna via AMTRAK and CSX, but only a few sailboats braving the 20-30 mph winds.  (Too much breeze for me...messes up my hair Smile).  Good eats at a restaurant called MacGregors, which gives you a good view of the AMTRAK bridge.  Recommend the mussles. Dinner

Always get jazzed about YORK week.  Will see the "irregulars" Friday at 1.  Looking for good grade crossing flashing crossbucks.  If I find something "suitable", my Cumberland section will be complete.

Speaking of TCA,  I only signed up for the later Dinner Cruise and the banquet.  Still in "reserve" as far as the layout tours...

HI GUYZ,

38 and cool here, only got to 47 yesterday, today52?  No trout fishing yesterdat, dirty water and cold temps scared me and BRO away.  Came home from church ate, then ran trains for an hour NO PILE UPs.  Ran them slow unlike BUCKEYE who run em at BREAKNECK speeds constantly.  Today got to sharpen blades on tractor then cut grass.

Stay frosty,

Morning all.  Pretty day.  Cooler.  Tonight is suppose to be REAL chilly but hope no frost.  Way past that date.  We now need rain.  Garden growing but a good inch of rain would push it on.  Off to lake house to carry some real Rolesville granite rocks and work some flowers.  Dry up there too.  Have a great week.  Mine is full of meetings.  Next week may be the week I take off and say, OH WELL.  Later.

Laz,

I went fishing before work yesterday, and it wasn't very good.  Only managed to get two very small trout.  I did get some info on the pond that I've been looking for while talking to one guy, so I've got something to look forward to for another time.  I might go back today, because I need to use these wax worms before they "change".

I've been very busy with school projects lately.  The AF 577 that I won on ebay still hasn't arrived.  I was also looking at a 758A Sam project last night, but I passed on it because I wasn't sure if the mechanism was complete.

Morning guys - feeling a little better today.  Promised to go to my folks' house and hook up a new computer my Dad bought and he also wants to replace his cable modem, which might be a big deal, we'll see.  PS - I read on Facebook that Brent "88" broke his arm, so prayers are out for him.

Good afternoon everyone.  Had a great church service this morning and then we did our typical Mexican Food for lunch.  I ate too much and my body hurts, so I will take  it easy and take a nap before heading back to church this evening.  I am on call this coming week, so don't want to over do things.  Have a couple of production meetings to get to this week.

Brutus, hope you get to feeling better....Char may need you to be gone for a few days if you don't watch it.  Better make sure you keep your hands clean and don't cross contaminate her.

Brent, what can I say?.....man, be careful out there!  Don't you think you have taxed the medical services enough this year?  Anyway, what ever the case, hope you get back to full health and stay accident free for some time.

Have a great week ahead.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good afternoon y'all. Gotta question for ya. Is EnterTRAINment at the Mall of America still around? Just finished watching a video tape of it.  The owner's name is Elliot Feinberg. Wonder if any changes were ever done to it if it is still up and running.

Hi GUYZ,

only got to 51 here.  Got mower blades sharpened and did the grass.  Got laundry done, now going to run a easy 3 miler.  Making room for pitza and beer tonite.

97 PROBE, good going with the trout.  They are stocking this week here at my stream.  Gotta tell my students where to put em for me.  Hopefully it gets warmer here this week?

Stay frosty,

Afternoon all !

NCT, Sad to say it is long gone. Elliot was a frequent and extremely knowledgable poster on here but sadly some life reversals have pretty much taken him out of the "train world". Hopefully some day he will return.

Friday's run went fairly well, DCS & TMCC ran great for me. However, one of the other runners had some problems with his prewar locos. Got to chat with people from all corners of the country.

Yardwork done for today, time to shower and see if I can gather up some energy to take the better half out to dinner.

Later y'all.

Finally warming up, now I have to buy my frozen orange juice from the grocery store and not pick it from the vine. That was late Feb or early March when we had to do that, what a cold winter this one was.  Any way going to be on the warm side near 81 during the day and near 65 at night for a few weeks.

Got the RV sold, but still have to pay off $11,800.00 that was left over at time of sale. Don't have to put up with repairs to the RV! The past two years it cost me almost $1100.00 to maintain the RV in repairs. Just figured out the actual electric useage, it was 46.15% of our electric bill, or on $200.00 bill it should now cost us about $110.00. The water usage was about $7.20 a month extra. Insurance was $525.00 for six months.

Just applied for NACA on the house loan, hope to see what they can do for us, our bills are very high. NACA claims they may be able to reduce our home loan payments by $100.00 or more a month, will see what they can do.

Went to the train show in Deerfield Beach on the last saturday of March, made $90.00 for the day.  Had a yard sale the next weekend and made about $300.00. The money is better than my job pays but it was almost three times the work!

Bought a couple of items at the train show, a car carrier that needed trucks for $3.00 and a Plasticville School building for $5.00, I thought it was the original school building until I got it home, but it was the modern one, oh well, for $5.00 I didn't go wrong.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 50s. New PC arrived today.  Much quicker.  Watched IRL race.  Rotten day for SFR and mediocre one for AJF.  An Amercian driver won for the first time in over a year, and Team Red lost for the first time in a while (Ryan Hunter-Reay won for Team Andretti).  I had waffles and bacon on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL after "Desperate Housewives".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening,

I want to thank everyone who remembered my buddy, Vince, who was very ill. Last Saturdy night the hospital called his wife and told her that he may not make the night. I left him at 7pm that night and he was doing bad. Sunday and Monday he was doing bad. By some miracle, Tuesday he did a complete turn around and he is on his way to rehab and then home. Not bad for a guy who had been in ICU since March 12.

Thanks again, John
