Howdy guys. Well, had lower GI problems Saturday, but Sunday seemed okay.  Came back last night twice, yuck.  Stayed home and was fine all day today, so hope it's over.  Needed to rest up and take it easy - didn't sleep well.

Prayers for all of us and our friends and loved ones.

Wife had a biopsy today.  They think she's doing well, although high level precautions will remain in effect for almost 30 days now.  They think she'll be able to go back to work in August now.  We'll have to get more leave from the leave bank at her work, but should be no problem with a good letter from her doctor.

Tardis is ready and looks like some banilla might settle my tummy.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good late evening everyone.  Has been one of those days.  Long cases and emergencies to boot.  My neck was really bothering me tonight while finishing the last one.  Took some ibuprofen and hope it will let me sleep well.

Dougnotagrump, what about the springs in retractable ball point pens?  I think they may be about the right size and with a little bending, could be made to work.  Just a thought.

For all those going to York, have fun.  Wish I could join you again this year, but was not in the cards.  Have too much on my plate right now.

Will lift Brent in prayer.  When this addition is done, he can honestly say it nearly cost him an arm and a leg.
God Bless,
Dennis

 Mornin' Boys!

Up to 78 today cloudy and showers...so no Harley today.

Angel for Brent, Hudson's friend Vinny, Brutus & Char..I miss anyone?

Been a long week, still getting over the trip..been a week, just now feeling better and more awake.

Had to work Saturday, which is unusual...but we sold 3 cars and I found a new train spotting location!  It's a double track main....and I stopped by there after the sale and was treated to a CSX double track run by!!  Looks like I'll be there Saturday if I can get away.....

Got my ZW back yesterday, just need to find a bit of time to reinstall it on the layout.  Mrs is working 2nd shift and so I'm back to playing house husband...not a bad thing, since I cook better than she does...Smile,Wink, & Grin.   Also got a PRR Jordan spreader, which I left at work Banged Head, but it should make it home tomorrow.

Other than that, been fairly quiet here.

As Buckeye would say:" I owe I owe it's off to work I go...."

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 39 degrees. Sun is coming up and sky is clear. Going up to 72 today with sunshine.

Today is a relaxing day. Stiff from PT. Need to do a few exercises to loosen up. Maybe run trains later.

Prayers out for Brent.

Buckeye.  .... Cement vest on the way. Tie Chief's leg to anchor chain, so he doesn't fall overboard.

Dining car is here for Cheerios breakfast.

Y'all have a great Tuesday.

Good morning all,

IIASBSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  Spent time with granddaughter last night.  Pushed her in swing, helped her pick "flowers" (dandelions) for her "Emi", and ran the Sante Fe for her.  Wife found out how tiring a five year old can be.  We both slept well last night.  Prayers going out to Brent ( who now has me beat on the self-inflicted injury list, a dubious distinction at best ) and to all of us who need them.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  TBIL after "V" tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Aloha all from a sunny and cold Chicago. Got a big luncheon meeting here to prep for. For those of you who don't know, Brent (88s) Facebook status said he fell off a ladder and broke his arm in 5 places.  Looks like he was able to see a great doctor for surgery. Bride got her fridge in. Looks like she unknowingly bought it with an ice maker I am not hooking up. More water issues - dishwasher's still leaking even though I cleaned the seal; and now something's leaking under the sink. Ah well. Prayers for those who need healing. Glad not to be traveling to the Continent or Blighty. My sister lives in London and says it's still a real mess. As John said, even the Tardis is grounded.

Good Morning

Sunny and 60s today

I will be cutting the grass as rain is forcast for monday after our return. Fife and others just look for one of many old guys carring a cane. I don't use one but have an old foot injury with swelling on long walks. So the cane will be my insurance policy. Everyone enjoy their day.

Great depot in Dennison. They have some nice train rides. Polar Express at Christmas. Loved it. Also, a clam bake in August. Ohio Central is thru there daily. They have a steam engine working in the summer.

Afternoon All.

Trying to get some clean-up done in the "train room", a.k.a. the grandson's toy box. Made a big mess working on some gondola loads, finished 'em up and look half way decent. Wouldn't want to rely on this for a living, I'd starve for sure.

Had the new Missile Launch Vehicle and sound car on the tracks friday nite, the munchkin loved it. First thing after he learned to use it he grabbed one his Batman characters to use as a target.

Later all.

Howdy All

A nice sunny day in  the 60s

I thought about going to the store and getting a squeeze bulb horn for my cane but then I thought well if I do that the state of Pa. might want me to get a license plate and insurance. So I didn't go. Got the grass cut, I am packed and Charlie will be here at 6am. York by evening.

Oh the tradis will fly all right the only thing that grounds the tardis is the wind, it keeps blowing out the matches and I can't get the fuse lit. goodby for now should be back by sat. evening.  S.J.

Good afternoon all, thank you Doug Murphy for filling us in about Brent's accident.  I will offer prayers but glad to know now exactly what happened.  Getting a few light rain showers today but we will take whatever we can get.  Maybe more tomorrow and Thursday.  Best wishes to all those attending York.  Wish I could be with you but I'm grounded for now.  Went to local train meet Sunday and picked up a few things.  A boxcar, flatcar and some scenery stuff.  Dept. 56 chain link fence and some palm trees for the layout.  The flatcar was one I needed for two army half tracks I have.  The boxcar is unusual, at least to me.  It is lettered for NC&STL.  I thought it meant North Carolina and St. Louis but it means Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis.  The car has a yellow stripe running its length  near the top on the side.  The thing that sold me was the slogan on the car which reads "To and From Dixieland".  Since I'm from the South it fit right in with my ACL and Seaboard stuff.  Plus I like Dixieland Jazz as well which was another nice fit.  The car was made by Intermountain Railway and is listed as O scale.  It has complete underbody detail and all grab irons and ladders etc.  Anyway, I'm happy to find something different for a change.  I read the real NC&StL stopped operating under that name in 1957.  Its part of CSX now and part of the line is that portion South of Chattanooga on the way to Georgia where the Great Locomotive Chase took place during the Civil War with the famous General and Texas locomotives on the old Western and Atlantic railroad.

Chief I have a drummer next door also.  Gets kind of noisy when the windows are open in his house.  Drives my adult son crazy when he is here.  Doesn't bother me too much if I keep the windows closed and I'm hard of hearing anyway.  We did speak to the father once and it toned down quite a bit after that.  They have some kind of practice pads a drummer can use without knocking the house down according to a drummer friend of mine.  I should haul out my old cornet and aim it over to the neighbors house when the drumming starts.

Have a good evening all,

Ray

Navy, there are several books on the ACL.  One of the oldest was by Richard Prince and I think it has been reissued but is mainly about steam and that era.  Two others are "Atlantic Coast Line" The Standard Railroad of the South by William E. Griffin Jr. and "Atlantic Coast Line Passenger Service" by Larry Goolsby.  You might look for a bookseller on line that has these books.  A lot of hobby shops carry railroad books too.  If I can find a souce I will let you know.

NavyJack, I found all of these books listed by Amazon.com.   Unfortunately none of them are cheap.  The least expensive one was Larry Goolsby's book.  They had a used one for $50.  The William Griffin Jr. book was around $70 and up depending on condition.  The Richard Prince book is a collectors item in its second printing starting at $120.  Maybe you could do better on E bay or something.

They have foam pads that lay on each drum head and take away most of the volume, but it also takes away most of the fun.  Best thing to do is soundproof the practice space...

Almost sunny and low 60's today.

I like the coronet idea - best defense is a good offence?  Decades ago in my first apartment, the guys from 3rd floor were sunning out on the lawn in front of my garden level unit.  I didn't like the music they were playing, so I selected some of my own and cranked my stereo up until I couldn't hear theirs.  Guess they didn't like 'The Best of Glenn Miller's Army Air Force Band', 'cause at the end of side 1, they had packed up and left.  If they didn't, my next selection was going to be choices from the Highland Pipe & Drum Corps Evil.

All for now.

SJ, The mark 1 Tardis as is the one that Brutus flies is made of wood and was never suitable for jet propulsion. The Mk 1 is driven by the good old reliable infernal confusion engine that runs on a mixture of banilla and snuff which burns at a very low temperature, virtually eliminating fire risk. The Stockport Mark2 brick Tardis as well as being fire proof is all electric and as long as there is sufficient wire can fly through any element other than water which can cause short circuits and disable the crew.

It is a bright cold sunny morning here in a quiet peacefull Stockport, being on the flight path from Manchester Airport, we have had a few days of respite from the racket of jet engines and the associated fall out of soot and unburned fuel. Tough on travellers who have my sympathy but a few days of peace for us has been really welcome.

Foot note...Gas is now nine bucks a gallon here.
