Hi All,

Started to cut off a large limb about 20' up on a ladder. Stopped after a dozen strokes of the saw. Didn't not want to break something in more than five places.

Reading all  the  York feedback is great. Just a little jealous. Maybe next year. Wouldn't have gone this time due to a grandaughter's first Communion tomorrow.

Prayers for all those in need. Especially for those "IN HARMS WAY".

Good evening everyone.  I somehow managed to get through the day...but I was exhausted.  Came home and took some NyQuil and went to sleep for about 2 hours.  Then, got up as stomach was a little upset from not eating, so I got some food in me and did some reading on the script.  Will have a full day of meetings and all tomorrow, so I will take a little more NyQuil and head back to bed.

Did have a good conversation with Dad, he is OK, but is working on his will and getting all the paperwork in line.  Also is having house fixed up for sale so he will be ready to sell when he calls it quits with work.

Chief, will lift your Mom and family up in prayer.  Not easy to see them age to where they don't have a good life quality.  It sounds like she is ready, but now have to wait till He is ready for her.

Looking forward to more York reports from the guys.  Also want to see some photos of all the great finds.

God Bless,

Dennis

Some more snow today. Still closed for the weather but may open tonight if the frost doesn't get us. Just went over and knocked the ice off the windbird.

Ol' Timer - cool videos of the shays! Sometime I need to get to Cass.

PapaD - good choice

DougM - belated happy anniversary!

Dennis - I was wondering about that w/ your connections w/ Fort Benning. A very good movie and an excellent book. Was hard to put down and hard to pick up at the same time. The best book I've read on combat situations yet and rather sobering.

Well they are sending out the free return label for the work train. Since trains were off the list this week, I spent some time working of the milling attachment for my 7X12 lathe. The original clamping arrangement was poor, so I machined it off on the big mill and will use the base w/ the dovetail to mount a proper machine vise to it. Running the mill is almost as much fun as running the trains.

Evenin' All.

Home from the museum. Thomas, Percy and James got quite a workout today but the real hit of the day was the Missile Launch Vehicle. Sir Topham Hat took several direct hits, but to his credit at end of day he was still standing. Big Smile

Pillowfights & wrestling with the munchkin for a little while before it was time for him to head home. Was tired from a very slow day at the museum but now I am really pooped. Dead

Hope all the Yorkies are doing well, sounds as if they are. Did the MTH display have any of the new R-T-R sets with the DCS control ? Haven't been able to find out much so far, what little you see in the new catlog the handheld looks kinda like the old IR unit they issued way back when.

Later all, assuming I don't fall asleep. Cowboy

Back home.  Mom is going fast it seems.  Mind is gone.  She knows everyone,  She kept looking for her panty hose.  Told her nurse threw them away.  I MADE her put on pajamas.  She kept wanting to get dressed.  She can not get up or walk by herself.  "Where are my panty hose"?  She constantly kept looking under her pillow and blanket for them.  She could not understand.  Would not listen.

Well, the UP meets the C&O.  Yes, got a new Lionel [Like New very un-used] Lionmaster engine.  All but Legacy.  Runs great.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 48 degrees. Rained last night. Going up to 68 today with a chance of more rain.

Today is an easy day. I'm a little achy from PT. Been working on knee muscles and upper leg. Lots of fun. Maybe I'll run trains this afternoon.

Nice looking engine,  Chief.

Dining car is here for the usual breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good Morning from cloudy Southern Ohio

This is Trout Derby Weekend.  At a nearby state park they release a bunch of trout in a small lake and folks stand shoulder to shoulder fishing for prizes.  It is interesting to say the least.

Sounds like lots of good things happening at York.  I will get there sometime.  Lots of AF stuff?  Maybe I’d better start saving up case now.

I finished the 762 2 in 1 whistle last night and took some pics.  I’ll post them SPF.  Started stripping down a 907 crane car to refinish.

Chief – Special prayers for you and your Mom.

Dennis – Hope you are feeling better.

May God bless

Jim

HI GUYZ,

Well here it is DA PIC from YORK, much antisappated at that?

This ones for BRENT, ouch!!!!!

This was a great time had by all.  Sorry BRENT we just had to do it.  Those ladders ARE dangerous.  We all missed you buddy.  You were the topic of conversation along with show and tell PICs by MITCH of your mishaps.  GET WELL BUDDY.  We all had a nice time with the boys from CTT, lots o laughs.  Had a nice and relaxing breakfast with JELECTRIC, JOHN and ROY and WIFE at DENNYs.  A BIG THANK YOU JOHN for BREAKFAST.  Big news was JOHN and ROY each ordered GRITs, can you believe it?  ROY has a pic of me somewhere showing my discussed, YUK!  Even the manager of DENNYs showed his angwish in those things by stating that we only used those things to hold up the wall paper in here, NO JOKE.  He talked about GRITS to us for 5 minutes.  Had a great day at YORK, didn't buy much save for 3 Lionel Log cars for my Shay and 4 salmon and a dog.  Total spent was just 79 bucks.  The show stopper was this a scale size Bycerus shovel, cost $8500 for remote control add another $1500 so for a total of $10000 you can own this.

I was allowed by the vendor to take this foto.  Yes it is O scale.

Morning all.  Had a shower earlier but sunny now.  Calling for T'storms today and on thru Monday.  Might not go to Miss Edna's today as got some errands to run.

Forgot to ask the "Yorkies" to check on guy who has power lift section for layouts.  Think I lost his information.  Thinking of buying one.

Get some rest Dennis.

LAZ - Thanks so much for sharing those photos, too cool!  Showed them to my wife and she said I   should go next year Smile

Son has a friend coming over so I'm going to fight zombies for a couple hours, then do some odd jobs around the house and grocery shopping as the rain permits.  Very overcast here today in the St. Louis area.

Evening.  Light showers.  Hope all are well with twisters in LA and MS.  Checked on Mom.  She gave up on panty hose.  She was asking for them this AM and lady gave her an old torn up pair.  She said they were not hers and quit asking for them.

Lucy caught her first LIVE and well squirrel.  She treed it, it tried to jump, Burg cornered it in the shrubs, it ran out and Lucy caught it.  It would bite and scratch, she would turn it aloose and then grab it back.  Big brother rushed up and helped her finish it off.  She is now turned on more than ever.  Goes to the back door and looks through the glass storm door and looks for them at bird feeder.

Chat later.  [Watching movies on Halmark Movie Channel on HD]

Good evening all,

It is raining right now in SE Indiana, but it was dry earlier so we could get the soccer games in.  Both well played.  One had a particularly beautiful score that makes watching these games so worthwhile.  Wife and I went to see "Kick-A$$" last night.  Definitely not for kids, even tho it features an 11 year old girl as one of the heroes.  Lots of violence, and lots of rough language.  Still, it was a good movie.  Not the kind Dennis would make obviously, but that is the beauty of cinema in that all types of expressions and messages can be found.  Pruned some dead off some of the trees today as well, but otherwise took it easy after the games.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL any time tonight and I am glad the zucchini bread was so popular.  Chief, Brett, Brutus, and Dennis, special prayers going out for you and your loved ones.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good afternoon all,

Chief, prayers for you and your mom.  So sorry to hear how she is doing.

Went to TCA local meet today.  I am still dissapointed. with the local meet.  Only two or three of us care anything about the modern trains so there is not much for me to talk about.  Saw my friend who had the trains stolen today.  He is still upset over that understandably.  I think at least one of the theives was identified and deported back to our neighbor to the South.  Trains are long gone, however and he only recovered maybe a 5th of them.

Think I better look for a new venue to talk/shop for trains.  Old club is just not fun anymore.

Good to hear from the Yorkies.  That's the best place to be for trains.  Sorry I could not be with them.

Wifey has a birthday tomorrow.  Looks like I have been elected to plan what we are going to do.  Says she doesn't care about going to expensive restaurant so maybe I will have a bar-b-que at home and do all the work on her day.  I will owe her one on this and will give her a rain check for something better in the near future.

Got news today of old timer in the club passing away on April 4th.  Only myself and a few others even remember him.  Sad situation.  Will try to make the memorial service if I can.

later,

Ray

Good EveningAll

We are home safe. A nine hour trip straight through stopping  only for gas and the necessary. I had a great time meeting the forum guys now I have real people to go with some names. Didn't spend much cause I went with a blank shopping list. Got a couple bargins. A 4-4-2 from a set breakup for $30. new, and a Swift hot box reefer also new for $30.00. So Brutus swing on by with the thingy and we will grab the banilla on our way out. S.J.

Yes there was Flyer galore most I have ever seen at any show ever. Not being a Flyer guy however I did not do prices. Based on Lionel sellers I would say probably high side in price but you might find that something not yet found.

Huge storm came through today while I was grocery shopping.  Went out in the parking lot and some lady about ran over me - she went up over a curb too.  Played video games with my son, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.  Now we are watching A Series of Unfortunate Events - fun movie Thumbs Up

Mike - I heard that movie was really good, can't wait to see it.  We were going to go to see it this weekend, but my friend John has bronchitis and I don't want to bring anything home, even though he is on medicine.  I'll be over in a few minutes and you can tell me all about it Smile

Oh - ps - that storm ripped a neighbor's tree in half.  Glad the guy next door trimmed his tree away from my house.

pps - glad the yorkers are back home safe and sound.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Smilehello ray, when i was stationed at san bernardino california with the reserve seabees, i lived in a town named fontana.  i used to see long trains with what i thought were trainmaster diesels pulling long trains of hoppers.  there was a roundhouse i would pass every day and they had a big steam locomotive with a fence around it.  i believe it was a northern and i do not remember if it was a santa fe or a sp loco.  i saw the sp daylight train running right in front of our seabee facility in pomona and it was a sight in all its orange splendor.  sounds like a lot of guys got some great deals, i realy liked the photos that laz57 provided.  i wish i could match up the people with the pictures. talked to rt yesterday and he told me about grits.  had a great conversation.  navyjack

Dining car is here with the usual Cheerios breakfast.

Mornin' boys.  No sailing today, as rain-fog-50's hitting the Mid-Atlantic region.  Meatyherologist said if we see sun, could be bad like Brutus.

My lower back hurts from YORK.  I think it gets that way from shuffling behind people.  Picked up a pair of crossing signals (MTH 30-11010) that will look good in Cumberland.  Also, picked us the ATLAS Wisconsin Southern (.)-cancer awareness car for Wifey.

Great to finally meet Charlie and SirJames (and that's how we called him, "sirjames").  Was trying to remember who he reminded me of, then caught up with Laz a little later and it hit me...
