HI GUYZ,

72 here at 1000 this morning.  Going to open ponds today, late for me.  Put in pumps, then go fishing with BRO, then fire and Ol MILs.

NUMBER9, No I didn't put on the NYC F12 but did try it with a B&A 0-8-0 and yes it did increase sound.  So it will do it with the F12.  Thanks for the heads up.

Stay frosty BOYZ,

Mike - glad your wife's finger is healing up.  Cuts like that are the worst.

8nt - good luck, hope you get a good manager

I chatted with RT using my phone app waiting for a haircut tonight.  Then got icecream and came home only to end up in the basement or 40 minutes while a bad storm blew over.  So far we are A-okay and looks like it is headed for Doug Murphy?  Duck!

Talking with SJ and Wes now and watching the news about all the storms that went through.  TARDIS is ready and we have the lightening arrestors, so we should be good to go check out some strange decorations spotted in some fields Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Thunder storms and 60's today.  Enough rain to cancel tonight's racing program - possibly tomorrow night's too. K.C. has showers forcast mid day.  Might interfere with the Indy Cars running there.

Interesting undercurrent at work the last ten days or so.  The plant manager resigned due to his health, so there is a search on for a new plant manager.  I've noticed the division V.P. visiting about once a week, showing somebody around the plant I don't recognize.  Hmmmm.

Prayers for those in need of healing and in thanks for good fortune.

All for now.

Good evening all, nice to hear from the Chief doing his thing at the Lake.  Slow day here but had my usual walk this morning  My walking buddy is laid up with gout so I'm back by myself again.  Had two friends over last night for trains.  One of them brought two new MTH engines won at auction to try out.  Both worked perfectly.  One was a 19th Century engine lettered for New England Railroad.  It was an atlantic with a straight stack and looked good pulling my woodsided passenger cars from the same period.  The other engine was an A-B-A set of Burlington F's in the white with red stripe paint.

Both items are proto 2 and friend got good deals on both.  Saved several hundred bucks.  How come everything I want is list price and everything I want to sell is two thirds off?  Thats my system, buy high sell low.

Local talk here is about Santa Fe steam engine #3751 on fan trip this week end from L.A. to San Diego tomorrow and return on Sunday.  Fare is $100 coach one way or $200 in the dome car.   The engine is suppose to run again the following week from L.A. to San Bernardino for Railroad days celebration in that city at the old Santa Fe depot.  I might try to get some photos off the latter trip as it runs near where I live.

Weather is warming up now.  Suppose to go up near 90 in the next few days.  I doubt if we will get much more rain this year.  So long April, hello May.

Ray

Good evening everyone.  Long day that started dark early this morning and just finishing up.  I left early too as they are still filming.  Had a number of great things happen with the film today, but I will have to wait till later to explain.

Still under the weather.  Had to put air in wife's van tire.  When I bent over to handle the task, I got a big head rush and have since had a bad headache.

Fife, one of the hazards of the job.  Glad you are OK.  We have been getting a lot of time with the local sheriff's department.  It seems that you never know what you are heading into.  A domestic call can be quite a bit more than just a family misunderstanding.

Chief, glad you were able to take care of the situation up there.  We just had a issue with some folks having a bunch of pit bulls and a dog fighting operation.  They arrested over 20 folks.

Hope each of you has a blessed weekend.
God Bless,
Dennis

 Hello all,

Fife, be carefull out there

Busy week

Found a mason to lay block on Dad's house. I remembered a man's name that I worked with 20+ years ago. Thought he was retired by now. Found his name in phone book. Called to see if he knew of any body that cold help me. He said "sure I'll do it for you" Big relief, I could lay the blocks but it would take me several days to do what he will do in a couple of hours. Monday we will demo the old wall and prepare to pour new footer.

Spent a little time this evening on James. His pilot truck kept derailing and causing him to wreck. Looked things over and there was very little tension on the pilot truck. I loosened the attaching screw and it left the pilot settle about 1/8 inch. Seems to be fine now. Ran him about 20 minutes with no derail.

Trip to the Cumberland Train Show is off. Got to get the bikes out and get ready for the Hillclimb on Sunday. Spent some time this evening helping daughter get ready for a yard sale at Dad's house. Whole neighborhood is in on it.

Well I'm off to join my lovely Mrs. in bed.

Prayers to all who may need them.

Good evening all,

Time for a rare evening report.  Vitor Meira is starting 6th tomorrow at Kansas!!  Hope springs eternal.  Sarah is gridded 14th.  Princess is 9th.  BTW, Briscoe is on the pole (if anyone cares).   Hope the rain blows thru Indiana early so we can get the games in.  Will be taping the race.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Doug and OT,

Thanks.  I hope I never have to use any of what I learned, but I feel better knowing those skills.  I agree that First Aid/CPR classes should be required in the public school system.

Jack,

We had to practice with legless manikins, although I think that some other subjects would have been more suitable.Smile,Wink, & Grin  I probably shouldn't go there here.Whistling

I got the Flyer 577 Billboard done and posted pics, so I will take it easy tonight.  I went down to fire up the layout last night, but the track is dirty from sitting unused for so long.  Most of the tracks haven't had a train run on them yet because of how busy I've been these past two semesters.  I'll have to clean it.

SURPRISE!!!

SURPRISE!!!!

Signed on at the Country Store wireless.  Sunny and windy.  Took the Ranger out for a spin.  Buckeye would have been down in the floor behind the console.  Little bumpy but at 52 mph, you can jump white caps.  Went to the Ole Place for dinner.  Large catfish dinner.  Three monster fillets.  Taking one home for Lucy.  Wifey might come up with Burg tgomorrow afternoon.  I got a couple locked up in the local county jail.  Coming back from getting building permitt, saw an animal in the ditch walking.  Finally saw it was a dog.  No hair.  Guys with me said there were two like that for over a year.  "Why haven't you called Animal Control?"  "Oh they will not do anything."  I called.  They came.  Got one dog with no hair, another  with skin falling off and that one 's breed can not be identified it is in such bad shape.  They locked couple up.  Still looking for a third dog.  They also have alpacka's [sp] and children.  Just went by house and lots of trucks there.  Yes, Animal Control will do something.  Even in this out of the way part of this poor county in NC.  [they were just inside the NC state line]  Jack will really be upset over this part of my post.

Will let RT start the new "Coffee Pot" as will not be here that late.

BTW:  I hear that Jon E is dating Shake and Bake's pole dancer neighbor's Mom.  I think her photo is available by email.

Later. [love being OFF.  They tried to get me to go to Rolesville for a meeting.  My reply was #^&*.]

Smilefife i am glad you are alright.  how many years have you been on the police force?  i bet it is not a cake walk now. i used to hate shore patrol duty and that was with the benefit of the ucmj.  i can just imagine the bs that you have to put up with to be a police officer today.  military personnel are not trained to be policemen.  that is why we are having such a tough time in iraq . i wish you well man.  navyjack

If I had a gun? They would put me in jail and send the robber to a holiday camp. On the other hand my family would have had to pay for my funeral and the robber would go to a holiday camp. OR! I would kill the SOB and I would go to jail for a very long stretch.

On a lighter note...... I have just installed SKYPE, My ID is 'John.Bakerr', any one feel like a chat to an Englishman, please feel free-coz it is! Bear in mind we are 5-8 hrs ahead of you.

It must be spring, the rain is getting warm...

Just a quick check in during lunch

Fife - You hear and read about police officers in your situation but when it happens to someone you know, it seems to have more signifance or impact.  I am going to add police officers fire fighters and all the other folks who risk thier lives so I can be safe, to my daily prayers for thanks and for their safety.  I should of been doing this.  Blush  Forgive me for taking you guys for granted

May God bless

Good Mornin', Ya'll, From Hazy Taxachusetts,

Finally may be dry enough to cut the grass.  The 12 day road trip and the rain earlier this week has the lawn height way too tall, so mowing and bagging is going to be time-consuming.  Should top 70 today, so it won't be too warm.  Wife and I are due up in Portland ME for a b-day party tonight at 6.....two hour drive each way.  Fun of driving is wearing thin.  Went to pick up take-out last night, and no sooner do I get out of my car than the guy parked next to me cuts his pickup's wheels too sharply backing out of his adjacent parking spot.......a loud pop and my rear quarter panel is trashed along with part of the rear fascia.  Said he didn't see my car!?!  Now the fun begins.

Wife asked me last night for her access code to reactivate her work laptop on the wireless router at home.  She has so many access codes and PIN numbers, all different, then asks ME if I know what she did.  Banged Head

Continued prayer's for Chief's Mom, Spanky's knee, Brutus' warden wife, and Brent's everything.  And for all who need them.

Fife......relieved to hear you weren't hurt by last night's knife weilding knucklehead.  Under the influence at the time or just plain straight, makes no difference.  How you can restrain yourself is beyond me.  I'd last in your job about 30 seconds before I got suspended for going over the top.

DougM......you did the out and back non-stop with no layover?  Pushing nearly 700 miles, no?  Where did the traffic hang you up?  That must have been a grueling drive.

Dennis......hope you and the better half continue to improve.  Prayers.

Don......that field with the pole looked like Jon's back yard in Ioway, not CA.

Laz.....will you be "sprung" on schedule this year?  I don't recall how many snow days cancelled school for you.

Later, gang.

Jack
