Smilehello guys..sounds like almost everyone is ok.  hudson be careful .  watched the hurt locker today, remembered how rough military life was.  the movie is good, but did not make much money at the box office.  people do not like movies about the war. next train i will get is a scale length gg-1 by williams.  will wait till prices come down this summer.  have not been feeling great lately.  still waiting patiently for help to run trains.  have not got any yet, but i cant complain. when someone has time, i am sure they will help me.  still have had no grits for breakfast.  you would think there are a lot of yankees here.  will have to ride the yatchet down to see rt.  bet he would make me some grits. navyjack

Partly cloudy and mid 60's here today.

Watched the F1 race today. On and off rain.  Interesting race.  Great footage of Hamilton and Schmacher batteling.

We did run Friday night.  Ended up that Ken Schrader was running in the Modified class, not the Late Model class that we run.  Did get a picture of our car next to Schrader's in the staging lanes.  Schrader won his class.  We got crashed out by a couple of other drivers who were beating on each other needlessly, got sideways, leaving us nowhere to go.  Bumper, sheetmetal, left front suspension & tire.  Driver OK.  Dissapointing because we got the car dialed in so it was just about right, and the driver was building confidence and driving harder as the race went on.

Have an appointment for another doctor to look at my wife's back tomorrow.  We'll see what he says.

More drywall up this weekend.  I'm ready to start mudding now - oh boy.

All for now.

Evening all!

Busy weekend and no time to post or catch up.

Worked hard yesterday to get lawn mowed and beds cleaned out to beat the rain. Then it rained most of the night and drizzled enough to day to cancel the NASCAR race but not my son's soccer game this afternoon. The wind was howling, it was 54 degrees, drizzling, and the boys just could not get it together and lost 6-0 (ouch). By the 5th goal the boys starting joking about it so they took it very well.

Hudson - that is great news!

MichRR714 - I am going and there is a separate thread somewhere a page or two back with a list.

Another busy day tomorrow. Lots of chores and then packing for an early morning flight Tues AM to Baltimore so we can get to York by Tues afternoon.

Have a great evening all!

Regards, Roy

Good night all.  Went to the lake house after SS.  Mowed the grass again [mowed it Wed.].  I do not like to do that on Sunday but "ox in the ditch".  Will not be able to go back until next week.  Full schedule of meetings and etc all week.  Need rain up there and here too.  Frost advisory up there but not here.

NCT, Elliot was partially responsible for the "Coffee Pot".  I was doing the Coffee Pot each morning and he asked me to let it run as a continous thread.  I did that and it caught on.  It ran for a long time but the CTT IS folks got to crying it was taking up too much server space.  So we started "pouring" a new pot each year.  Then they asked for it to be a new pot each month.  We have been happy to ablige as they are nice enough to let us have a "Coffee Pot".

Hope all have a great week.  BTW: Just watched a movie, State of Play, with Russell Crowe and others.  Very good movie.

Prayer works, Hudson.

Off to bed.

PS: this rascal gets paid to attend York. Sigh

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 60s.  "Deseperate Housewives" was good last night, but threw an interesting curve in one of the plot lines.  Not much else to report.  I had the regular fare on the dining car.  TBIL any time tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.  I ran the Sante Fe Alcos with the freight cars yesterday for the grand kids.  Biggest thrill for them was dumping the logs.

Keep on training,

Charlie,

At my grandaughter's Baptism last week, someone told me that  he had to fly into BWI and drive 90 min to York, PA for a coporate meeting. I suggested that he also schedule a meeting for this weekend and explained why. British Aerospace has an enginering facility out there.

Prayers for all, especially those in harms way

Aloha all. Sure like these curtains on the ticket windows at my downtown station. Cold and sunny here. Great news on your buddy, Hudson. Glad you're feeling better, Brutus. Too bad for Brent - broken arm in five places - yeouch! Safe travels for those heading to York. Will get there someday I hope.  Long weekend swapping out a leaking valve in the basement on the main water pipe of the house. Think I also fixed the leaking dishwasher: just replaced the seal.Watched the pastor's kids last night.  Now to return all the unopened stuff I didn't mean back to Ace Hardware Wink Fixing something always makes my day.

Morning all.  Off to meetings I go.  Busy week for me.  Next week, lake house and Roseyville can take a flying leap.

Did I miss something???  Brent and broken arm????  Did he try to top the "saw my leg off" thingy?

Buckeye, we need to set up some plans for me to come and give you fishing lessons.  Might need to book flight as rates going up.  They were talking on radio yesterday about possible extra charge for a "take on".  getting crazy.

Have a good one and safe trip for all traveling to York.

Hi GUYZ,

FIFE, is BRENT going to YORK?  WOW 5 places broke for the arm, OUCH!!!!

OLE TIMER, yepper I use a fly rod later in the season.  I have 2 of em one for my small creek a 6 ft Cortland.  And one for the river and bigger streams, a 8.5 foot Fenwick.  Both have rocket taper lines, weight forward.  Love it when the March Browns are hatching.

Afternoon all!

Working from home and watching NASCAR - most excellent! Edit - bummer - Gordon and Stewart just wreaked big time.

Brent broke his arm - this is terrible! 5 places to boot - yeeoow!

Fixed a leaking toilet flapper valve this morning. I get a gold star from the missus for taking care of this before my trip.

This is probably my last post until after York unless I get time one evening.

Hope everyone has a great week and looking forward to seeing the gang at York Friday!

Good Afternoon from lay-off Capital!

I was supposed to be at work today but when I got there they told me I wasn't on the schedual. Also heard from a supervisor that the company I work for is cutting back, he said a new person was schedualed to start on Friday but was told there is NO work at this time for her.

I now know for sure it was the right move to sell off the RV, even at a loss. Just hope the house don't follow it!  May have to scrap summer vacation as we don't know for sure about an income right now.

Currently Florida has the highest unemployment and climbing steadily every week. Don't let the politicians snowball you, the truth is that Florida's economy is sinking steadily lower, even emergency services such as firemen and policemen are being cut from the payrolls.

Lee ... feel very sorry for you buddy .... although before in my life I have been there .... I can remember when you could'nt even buy a job in our area . 3 openings = over 300 applicants for any of them . The whole USA is in that shape ... not just Florida . The sad situation is many companies are not just laying off ... they're closing their doors !  Confused  I thought that huge tax cut for businesses from the last administration ... THE ONE THAT WAS IN OFFICE FOR 8 YEARS .... was going to end that ..... it just escalated larger .... so much for believing EITHER  party and their promises .... SoapBox

Unbelievable Brent got hurt so bad ... man if he did'nt have bad luck ... he would'nt have any luck at all .... Sigh ... right at the beginning of summer yet .

Brent,

Will keep you in my thoughts.

I went fishing again yesterday, which was worse than Saturday.  I am planning on going tomorrow morning since Tuesday is my day off.  Spent the rest of yesterday on the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 2.Thumbs Up  I bought a sealed backup copy of the Resident Evil remake and an official memory unit just because the prices were reasonable.

Ended up going to Applebee's for dinner last nite, to tired to go fancier wanted to stay close and comfortable. Surprisingly had a really good steak and a really really good loaded baked potatoe. My doctor would have had my hide had she seen that thing, Dinner Ashamed

That MTH L&N GP7 that I had finally gotten was run friday at the museum, that is one sweet little engine. Grampa W. would have been very happy. Thumbs Up

Looking for some info on an ongoing project. I have been scrounging all the train makers looking for "tension springs" for use with loads on flats and gons to no avail. Unfortunately I have no clue as far as trying to order something that would work on "O" trains from a commercial source. Anybody got some sources or any pertinent infoQuestion

 Hello all,

Busy weekend.

Got one side of dad's house jacked up, They started digging today. At the rate they're going that'll take two more days.

Chief, oats is in. soybean ground is plowed. Waiting on the field we where the corn will be to dry (there was a pond in it about 50 years back when Dad bought the place)  A ton of nitrogen was applied to the hay. Son has picked up two fields to "custom plant" for others. That will supplement his income a little.

I've determined 88 broke his arm, severely. I haven't found out how. Can anybody clue me in? I've added him to my prayers.

Well I'm going to join my lovely Mrs in bed.

Safe travels to all those going to york. Wish i could join you. Keep us posted.

Prayers for all who may need them

Sunny and low 60's here today.

Second doctor's diagnosis on my wife's back matched the first.  This one offered a different proceedure to fix it that looks like it has a shorter hospital stay - overnight instead of 4 to 5 days.  Something to think about..

DDG - try Lee Spring company.  They are an industrial outfit that makes all kinds of springs, both compression and tension.  I don't know if they will sell retail or not.  I've friends who will help to work around that if you find something you like on their web site.

Prayers for safe travel for those headed to York and quick recovery for those hurting.

All for now.
