Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s and a good breeze.  Went to see Olivia Smiley and her band perform.  Stayed to watch the act after that as well.  Watched last part of "Dollhouse" and all of "Numb3rs".  Got up early and mowed the yard.  Have two games to ref today.  I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  Sounds like everybody is having a good time at York.  Beacon is lit for us non-participants.  I hope everybody has a good day.

Keep on training,

Jim - Thanks for the farm shots.

Who makes the buildings? Are they 1:64? Are the animals and people 1:64? Great job on the dirt path as well.

My farm is just getting started. All I have is small pastures with electric fencing shown below. The town is not complete, but at least it covers most of the table top.

Traveling today.

As long as I don't see John F. tossing my rare and expensive boxcar in the trash, I'm not concerned.

It was John F. who came up with the idea of giving ME YOUR rare and expensive box car.  John gave it to Fifey and Fifey gave it to me.  If I were you, I'd be CONCERNED. Shock  I'll send you a box of tissue and some cheese to go with your whine.  Laugh

Morning all.  I hear the mocking bird singing outside.  Getting ready to pack.  Where will my roller bag go?  Trunk full of NS engines. Approve  Been a great trip.  Found things I wanted but the best was getting to see the gang and the CTT staff.  Chat later.

Chief--

Sorry I couldn't take your call tonight, I was out cooking dead cow and pig, big hit for the troops here Smile   Oldest son and family are here for the weekend, first time since Christmas for all of them, sure nice to have them here,  Storms in the area but hopefully they won't be bad.

Speaking of troops, we escorted 7 American Heroes to their final resting place today, from WW-II to Viet Nam, men with no blood family but well over 1000 men and women saying "thank you & a job well done".  The motorcycle line was was over a mile line, two abreast and as we would pass through small towns the fire depts. and school kids were on the curbs waving flags, that will make your eyes water.

Thanks again Chief for the updates on York, glad you all are having a good time, it's a special place and meet.

Evening all. Watching the Sox with middle boy whilst figuring out his phone. Bride is at church for a teen girl night --with the daughter who is acting out...hates her being there - sigh.

Boy, it is great to hear from Don - everyone else too.Wink  Beautiful day today. Early men's group, then 9 am baseball game and 1 pm soccer game with the youngest tomorrow - I used to complain about this type of schedule, but I appreciate it now - especially seeing the fun of it all from a six year old's perspective...

Chief = Ditto on the tired feet

Probably will go back to York again tomorrow. It is a short ride, about 20 miles, for me.   Found two great deals on MTH Std Gauge cars.  Picked up a cream and green 514R Ventilated Refrigerator Car for $60 and a 514 cream and orange frieght car for $65.  Will look for tank car, gondola and caboose then I will have a freight load to pull behind the MTH 9E as well as the passenger set.  This is the first Protosound 2 engine that I have owned. Pretty cool. Looked for some standard gauge Gargraves phantom curved track, but there was none to be found.  One guy would order it for me but decided against it.  Will look on line. I did buy Z750 on ebay, made arrangements to pick it up instead of paying shipping.  Will get it Sunday or early next week.  The seller doesn't work too far from Gettysburg.

Flipping between the Caps vs Rangers and SPEED.  Never watch those channels when the Mrs is home.

Well, got to go.  Will post photos later.

In the room.  Feet tired and sore.  Eating microwave popcorn and drinking Coke Zero.  No money spent today.  Lots of looking as went down every isle in every hall once and some twice or more.  Now for a movie on HBO and popcorn.

Afternoon all,  I've been reading all the York reports and wishing I was there.  My roofing job is all finished now.  Went to eye doctor this morning to see how my cataract on right eye is doing.  He wants to wait another 4 months before doing any surgery.  While there, I noticed in a mirror that one of my front teeth on my partial is missing.  I did'nt even know it was gone.  Can't find it.  Maybe I swallowed it.  Don't really know but dentist says come in Monday and they will send it to the lab to fix and have it back that afternoon.  Meanwhile, I will just have to look like Huckleberry Finn for a while.

TCA Western Division meet tomorrow in Arcadia.  Show and tell theme is flatcars and loads.  Tomorrow is also my wife's birthday.  Family will celebrate on Sunday.

No Thursday get together this week.  Guys are busy doing other things.

AGHR is having an open house this week end too but can't make it because of other stuff.

Chief, leave a few trains for the rest of those guys!  Have fun.

DBaker, glad to hear you are alive and well and glad to hear your wife is too.  Did not feel the earthquakes at all hear in Glendora.  Did'nt even knock over fragile things on my layout.

Brutus, more prayers for your dad.

Later, Ray

Hey guys!  I'm still around (litterally). LOL

Sorry havn't posted but been quite busy!  After last night just had to get on a little.

Received a phone call from John F, he was at a party with about 15 other guys, and was wondering about who was going to be paying for dinner.

Seems there was a big dinner gathering for folks that were at York.  I ended up talking to; John F, Roy, George (associate of Roy), Chief, and Dennis !

It sounded like the Dennis and the Chief were going to have to get a U-Haul trailer for the return trip.  John and Roy of course do York as a matter of routine, so they typically don't get too much.  Now I'm sure neither one of them are limited on their selection of engines & rolling stock available to them.

The Chief was complaining about feet and legs, and he had only done 2 of the buildings,  I reminded Dennis about the truck he needed to be looking for.  (I couldn't find it in 2006 when I was there.)

It is interesting to note that both the Chief and Dennis has already acquired a significant bounty, and they have all day today yet!  Yesterday was suppose to be browsing, today buying.  So today is spent spending next years train budget.

Hope they both remember to pickup something for the wives.

Thanks again to John for the call it was really fun !!!

My Activities;

- Been working a lot, havn't had time for a day off in almost 3 weeks, will get some time off next week.

- Also, been studying for a HAM Radio License, took the test and passed it!  So getting the license.  (There is a big electronic show here monthly that I would like to participate in, but you MUST have a license to be a vendor.  So, hence the license.  Actually got a call sign, KI6YPD, doubt that it will ever be used, all I need is another hobby.)

- With the free time I've had, Ive been in the train room, connecting some Miller lighting.  Secured the UP light, a Fireworks light for the stand, and a Casino light.  Still working on that one.

- Had to replace pool pump and motor, (ouch!), the old one only lasted 23 years that I know of, was here when we bought the place.

More importantly, family is doing well.  Kay has done well with the recovery from her surgery, Chris still doing well with work and school.  (I've been blessed).

Hope Brutus and his Dad continue to do well, not an easy trail they have been on!

With all the other ills and distress's everyone has been going through, certainly has been more than enough to keep everyone busy and on their toes !  Prays for those in need !

I think we have had 6 earthquakes in the past 12 hours, all of them have been relatively minor, located primarily around Yorba Linda, (home of Nixon's burial site and library), all seem to be less than 3.8.  I've only felt 2 of them.

Lastly, the political climate here continues to decline, and becomes more depressing daily, seems all aspects are just squeezing the little guy out in everyway possible.

Will get back soon, need to get busy.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful 62 degrees. Clear skies, sunny. Going up to 82 today with sunshine.

Buckeye......TGIF

Dining car was here and we had Cheerios for breakfast.

Morning all. Sunny and supposed to 8-0 today. Don't believe it. Looks like fun is being had and money spent at York. Lippincott 30 is a nice one... Good news about your dad, Brutus - sounds complicated. Bought the bride's anniversary gift to work today - a great collage of professional photos of her. She looks like a model. Opening day for Little League tomorrow - then soccer in the afternoon.

Good Morning

Sunny and near 80 today they say. Getting ready to go to the train store, hope I can get away without buying anything again today. Looks like the Chief will be needing a couple of BCRs, although the newer 3 volt system is much better than the older 9 volt. Enjoy your day,   Later....S.J.
