Morning all feeling somewhat better again today we'll see how long it last this time.
Looks like chief is getting a fair haul. guess he'll next be getting dcc system for his layout
Hope to get out in yard and do some work today. Not much happening will talk later.

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps near 80. Did weights and soccer juggling at the YMCA. Did some Second Life. Going to see favorite bluegrass singer tonight. Got two games to ref tomorrow. Going to be warm. Sunday going over to dad's to watch Kansas IRL race. Hopefully one of the "good" guys (or gals as Sarah will be there) will win. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. The beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 46 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. S'posed to jump up in the 70's.
Well, the "gathering" will be in about 5 hous. Seems like we've been talking about this longer than the last presidential election. Should be one of our bigger turnouts, especially if His Honor has brought his security entorage. I'll be "sailing" up 83 around 1000 hrs.
Chief! Slowly put your hands up and step away from the little girl. She's much too precious to be corrupted by GRITS.
Patrick -More farm shots
Jim
Good Morning from beautiful Southern Ohio
Weather is perfect! Sounds like you guys in York are going to have a great time.
Chief - your little friend is a real cutie pie.
Jim F - Prayers for your dad's recovery.
May God bless
Morning all. Ready to go again. Breakfast with Marty E and the gang. Then to get my hands on the very rare and expensive box car again.
Al, great to meet you, your wife and the "Little Charmer".
Well, off to find more Yankeeland loot.
Have a great day all.
PS: Check out Marty's Thread on the Lionel Visions Line. Has video link of the demo. See the bell swing, steam from whistle and steam from under cab of steam blow off.

We did it. Took up the rails to the upper level track. That left only the lower track next to the river passable. Also destroyed the bridge to the little town up the track. When we left, roads were closed and DOT was replacing the bridge. Will take days though.
TIRED. Had dinner with Roy and John F. Now to CRASH. Did NOT get to see all of Orange and Brown and Purple. Did not even enter the members halls. WOW.
Now hear this: bought TWO MTH NS engines. ONE Atlas NS engines. Lionel does not make any NS. Did win the Vision Lines box car from Lionel at the Lionel tent demo. New steam engines have steam blow off [smoke], whistle steam [smoke] and the bell on top swings back and forth with the ringing. No wonder they cost over $2,000.
Got to visit Carl and Bob at the CTT booth.
Something about giving me a very rare and expensive box car that is at some PA person's house. Think that is tomorrow sometime. Something about taking photos of the presentation and what I do to it after I receive it.
Met some of the great CTT gang today. Also, one of my OGR buddies.
Good night all.
Had a great day at York...I even ran into The Chief..and then the Chief and Dennis. I was in Orange hall for all of 5 mins and looked up and there stood the Chief in the Scenic Express booth with me. Was really nice to meet and shake his and Dennis' hand.
I'm on chat right now with SJ, Brutus & RT

Sounds like Charlie is hanging out with the wrong sort there in the Orange Hall? Have to check him for grits when he gets back!
I posted this elsewhere, so excuse the cut and paste if you have seen it:
The 100 percent blockage is on top and it's a high risk stent for that one because the blockage is so big and it's the big main artery, so they would not do it without letting him come around and getting consent. They decided to do the one, let him recover and see how he does symptomatically. It's a question of how much improvement would they get from doing it compared to the risk of the surgery.
Considering the overall picture here, he was very lucky and should be able to recover and do very well.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening all. Nice day here. Not as warm as it was supposed to be. Thanks for the anniversary wishes. Sure goes by fast. Hope to make it longer. Just finished reconciling the youngest's baseball and soccer schedule - it looks like a busy May. Hope to run trains tomorrow eve.

Jack, pool temp is 70 today but that's without a heater. Will take Tardis if no one else wants to drive. Might sail over to York and see what the Chief is up to. I wonder if anyone on this forum goes to the shindig they have at Friday's on Thursday night? If not where is the gathering place for this group? I saw some pictures someone posted on OGR of the Bandit meets at the Holidome and Best Western. I was shocked at how they have shrunk since I was there 8 years ago. I guess the TCA meet by adding the extra day has really affected the bandits. To me that was half the fun exploring those extra meets and you could take all the pictures you wanted or talk on your cell phone. Hot weather is over here for a while. Only got up to 70 this afternoon with clouds all day. My roofing job is all done.
Later, Ray

One of many speed tests.
Packing up to take a trip to Michigan. There is a reunion of people that I worked with whin I started out. Haven't seen most in a couple of years and some in a couple of decades. Will be a good time.
I'll be going right by the I Love Toy Trains shop in Buffalo Michigan. Hopefully, they will be open when I'm there.
Later. I'll be out of touch until Sunday late.
RT .... man i got food poisoning twice in my life from restaurants . Once a meat ball sub and another a salad of all things . I'm so darn careful now .... no matter how hungry I am if it does'nt seem right ... it does'nt get past the first taste . You have to watch .... a huge swap meet at Hershey Penn. had a stand selling drinks ... seems the drink machines were found out later to have been full of BLACK SLIMEY MOLD ! Almost 100 people got very sick . They never cleaned them I guess .... I only buy from local church stands now .... if I have to at all ..... those little grannies are very clean .... never those traveling wagons/trailers .
rtraincollectorOle Timer I can relate with you after spending a day on a tractor I was beat but I would go back to it in a heart beat if i could. I drove 3 different tractors the big one was a MF 7010 then a 285 and the small was a 261( yes all were MF's boss swore by them said only difference in them and a JD was color and price) I loved riding a tractor did it for about 5 years. Acually wished he had more tractor work durning the year that we could do. tried to get him to let us acually plow the fields but he wouldn't we would disk and then field cultivate if we even did that. Evening all starting to feel a little better but still have to watch it. This been a brute of a virus or food poisoning I got . (think it may have been food posioning as I remember eating at bojangles for breakfast and the ham,egg and cheese just didn't taste right. )

The most tractor work I do now is bush hogging the fields 3-4 times a year after each rotation. Enjoy every minute of it. Hard work, but I miss not haying. Buy the hay now and rotational graze the fields.
RL- You must try to work into grits for breakfast. You will feel much better. Seriously, I hope you feel better soon. No way to spend your free time. Sorry RT, I made you a RL.

RFD-TV --- Rural America's most important network!
Jim- Enjoyed the farm pictures. I am developing a farm on my layout. I also now know where Chief gets his Flamingos!
Watched "I Love Toy Trains" this PM on RFD-TV. DVD from TM Books & Video on Lionel production of Hudson 5340 and rolling stock. Very informative. Showed how Lionel molds, paints, letters and hand assembles them. Showed Disneyland car getting 14 separate paint stampings, and the Hudson engine hand assembling of external parts - rails, pipes, drivers, Etc. Each engine must climb 30 degree ramp to pass final inspection.
Rockisland52 ..... noooo .... it's just I sold off about 20 + years of HO trains I had and banked it . Am fairly new to O scale and need to catch up .... . I got a bit smarter now ... more selective and need to start all over on detailing and kit bashing . I'm more cars and a few engines more than layouts .
That pic brought back memories of hauling a manure spreader with that wonderful smelling stuff flying into the air ... LOL . It was pulled by a 1933 Oliver tractor ... believe it or not I miss those days .... worked until I could hardly walk and loved every second of it . I'd sneak it out and ride it all over when my dad and mom went to town for groceries or shopping .... we were'nt allowed to go .... had to run the farm .
Greg - That spreader is really neat. I sure could use one with all the cows
and pigs
and birds
and . . .
Banks,
Its an original price tag that American Flyer used in its Wide Gauge set. I have one boxed set of Wide Gauge trains and when I unpacked it, it was laying in the bottom.

RockIsland52Patrick.......are these undercover cows? How do they operate their two way radios and cell phones with hooves? Re the reasons our wives have hung in their with us for decades.....I looked down and couldn't see my shoes. Pam must like my six barrel abs. Same with Laura and yours I suspect.Jack
Jack
These specially trained cows are so under cover they can't be seen by the human eye. Their radios and cell phones have been implanted and are controlled by eye movement. Picture a cow blinking in code!
You must be psychic. How did you know about my barrel size just from my head shot signature? O, you did say "I suspect".
Hello all
Improving weather here, they're predicting high 70's for Saturday
NORTHWOODS what is that tag of of?
Have a great time at york everybody, wish I could join you.
Prayers for all who need them

With all of the ongoing complaints stated about the Forum speeds (or lack thereof).....has anyone tried that website Brent suggested that checks your upload and download speeds? Good stuff except stupid me lost the web address. Anyone stll have it?
Anyway, I did jot down my download and upload speeds:
Downloads: 19.4 KBPS
Uploads: 6.0 KBPS
This is with Comcast cable without the optional high speed speed upgrade......unless I have a temporary upgrade due to a promotion I am unaware of.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
RockIsland52Have not heard from Northwoods on the POT for a few. Must still be out shovelling snow in Wisconsin
I can assure you that there are days that I am shoveling, but it isn't snow.
With all of the surprises that melted out of the snow banks on the Blue Board Central I decided that I needed to purchase one of these. Of course at 1/43 scale its going to take a while. I've often thought that Jim Phish ought to have one of these for the farm on his layout, with all those cows in the farm yard and the cattle loader. But of course he needs it in 1/64.
I'm envious of all the folks at York and headed there. I'm just working on sending in my application to TCA. One of these years when the mortgage is paid and college tuitions are paid, and the car is paid off, etc, etc. then maybe I will get there.
Thanks for thinking of me Jack.
