Buckeye--western Iowa is under a blizzard warning beginning tomorrow night, I sure hope they are wrong and we get included Big Smile  The only thing better would be for Roseyville to get dumped on Evil  Hiz honor might actually have to earn his wages!

I'm working hard to see to it you get your share of the blizzard.  Mother Nature and I are giving it a try. ApproveEvil

Just watched a real cute movie, Nim's Island .   Should make more like it.  Something everyone in the family could watch.  The little girl from Little Miss Sunshine and Jody Foster were the stars.

Was a real warm day.  We had strom wind warnings.  Even telling folks with high profile vehicles to be careful as they might blow over.  Drying things out from the good rain we had.

Off tomorrow AM [about 10] to see Evil Kinevil [however you spell it].  Grandson is 2 and big birthday party in Wilmington.  MIL and FIL are riding with us. Sigh  More fun just Pam and I.  Mowed the grass again.  Had grown since the middle of the week.  I know I need to go mow the lake house grass.  Pam isisted I not do that last weekend.  Thought sure I would have gone back but did not know Mom's mess and etc.  BTW: lady called and said she is the same old bossy lady but gets along fine with her.

I see several Yanks want to become part of the finest police force in the nation.  Did think about having the FBI pick them up on impersonating an officer.  Then we desided to let them in.  Will not give them their bullet though.

Good night all.

Good morning from below the Mason Dixson.  Meetings today, then back to beautiful Ohio early Sunday morning.  Mrs. Buckeye and I visited D.C. where the cherry blossoms were in bloom.  Rode the train into the city.  Visited the B&O Museum, photos later.

Someone is doing a great job keeping the Chief in line.  Thank you.

Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Blustery & 50 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Spent most of the day watching the various Binghamton Shooting coverage.  Boy did FOX look amateur.

GREAT SCALE MODEL TRAIN SHOW is today and tomorrow at the Maryland State Fairgrounds Cow Palace.  Don't want nothin'.  Don't need nothin'.  If I do go, would be just for the cardio...

Buckeye - had I known, I could have picked you up from the train station and given you a guided tour of the Roundhouse....

Fifedog ... I've been out taking some new pics of the area .... including C&O locks .... want to add at least one to the layout with the boat and mules .

Jim .... it's " engine restore " ... is just a hype .... sorry but I'd never use it . Also you've gotta watch some of those restorers ... they loosen all the gunk and it travels to the oil passages and clogs them up !

SPMan ... you should have seen me flopping down a small mountain when friends took me cross country skiing ... Black Eye  dang briar bushes were rooted on one end and frozen in the snow on the other ... talk about a 35 - 40 mile an hour roll head over heels about 5 times .... that was my last ski trip .... felt like I got hit by a freight train for over a week . I laid there for about 10 - 15 minutes before I could get up .

Buckeye did you drive ... fly or amtrack ?

Fifedog .... wish I had known about that train show .... darn .... only about 1 1/2 hors from my place . That's a big building ... and I have some train money burning a hole in my bank account !

Morning all.  Told you.  Buckeye the pig is feeding at the public trough at a convention at taxpayers expenses.  Sunny and warm.  Still windy.  Off to Wilmington NC [a long drive] to Grandson's birthday party.  Did I tell you all?  Another Grandson on the way.  What is Grandson getting for his birthday.  A wooden snap together Thomas the train set [he has an O gauge one], JD tractor cap and tools, a bear in Lionel engineer's outfit and Thomas accessories.  Back tonight.

Morning Coffee Potters.  Gotta get up and at 'em and no caffiene in the house????  At least I can have a cuppa here.  Heading out to the Tartan Day parade pretty soon to meet with some family friends.  If we are there late enough, we might catch up with some other friends too; but, it seems more likely to me that the kids will get bored and we'll have to leave before then.  Tomorrow is a trip to a train club over in IL to check out their HO layout with the kids.  They are allowed to run the trains with supervision, so we should all enjoy that, though it would be better if they were O gauge Wink  Need to mow the lawn - it rained a lot though, so it will be wet.  Going to rain more tonight and tomorrow, so I'll have to do it this afternoon/evening though.

Congrats on the birthday and the good news, Chief!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful , sunny 45 degrees.  Going up to 70 today with sunshine.

Today is a busy day. I might mow the back yard, later. Starting to grow. I need to do some work on the riding mower, first. Air cleaner, and oil change. Then, I will relax and watch the Nascar race from Texas. Nice track.

Dining car was here and breakfast was the usual.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good Morning

Sunny but chilly, windy all nite.

Eggs, bacon, fried taters and toast this morning. I think I can skip lunch.

Just got off the chat line, talking to Brutus. We talked about everything But trains. Still thinking about that nineth hole, it seems to me very few players can hit that far so whats the point even though its a very neat par 3.

Enjoy your weekend,,,S.J.

 Good Morning All !

Spent ALL day at the hospital yesterday, Wife had her surgery, and all is well.  Relatively minor outpatient, but sure was a busy place.  Recovery Room was overloaded causing a back-up, so she was maintained in the "Day Care" Recovery which caused a significant delay.  Of course sitting in the waiting room for 6 hours saw a lot of unfortunate cases coming through!  (Don't envy you Dennis)  Felt really bad for 1 little girl, probably about 7 maybe 8, she was in for tonsils.  Apparently her Aunt brought her in.  Eventually the Dad showed up, and a lot of friction with the Aunt.  She went in for the procedure, and while she was in, the Mom showed up.  Then the Dad and Mom proceeded to discuss all their marital issues for everyone.  Lots of cursing, intimitate details, that didn't belong in the public.  The Aunt got involved and ended up a totally bad situation.  The discussions continued for 3 hrs or more.  When the girl was in recovery both parents went in and they both stormed out.  The Dad stayed in the waiting room for awhile.  The girl was released and the Aunt had her and she was driven away in the Aunts car.  The Dad walked them to the car and went his own way.  The Mom had left much earlier.

On the train front, I screwed up.  Bought this sign from Miller Engineering, great looking sign, UP Railroad, operates on 4.5v, came with battery holder.  I have this Lemark adapter which states AC/DC converter, 4.5v output, 500mw.  So connected the sign instead of the battery pack.  Immediately fries the board for the sign.  Called Miller they indicated that their has been problems with the Lemark adapter.  Asked if I was using it for some lights, Sure.  They said on numerous occassions the adapter is AC only not a DC converter.  And the lights operate on both.  Whats really bad is Miller offers numerous alternatives very inexpensively.  Three unit adapter $6, 10 unit $16, 6 unit that runs from track power $12.  So I was frustrated, have an adapter from Miler on the way.  Got replacement board from them as well.  Their customer service is really outstanding.

Suppose to be on a local Radio show tomorrow doing a infomercial thing.  However, wife was going to work a camera show while I went to the studio.  But, she won't be able to make it so, I have to cancel the radio thing and do the camera show.  Not really disappointed in that, even thought the PR is always good.  Have a presentation later in the week up in Ray's area.  All this work is interferring with the train time.

Have heard that people are begining to plan and get things ready for York.  Understand the Chief and Dennis is getting their travel plans and transportation coordinated.

Good morning all, took my morning walk and made the full two mile circuit today.  I've been looking at vacation websites trying to find a good place to go for our 50th wedding anniversary this year.  Weather is not too bad today with sunny skies.

Chief, your grandson ought to be happy with the Thomas stuff.  I gave a load of it to my grandson when he was younger. Trains, track, switches, even a roundhouse and turntable which was neat,  I think it's all in a junk box now.  Stuff is well made though.

Don, glad to hear your wife is OK.  That's a lot of waiting at the hospital.  Not pleasant to overhear those marital quarrels though.  You hear the same thing all the time on cell phone users near you who seem oblivious to anyone around them.  I feel like saying, is this a private conversation?  Better still just say "stay out of my life and my face."

Later, Ray

Ole Timer - Thanks for the PM's. My doctor says humor is the best preventive medicine there is.Bow

Jim, RT, Dennis - On the Justin Wilson story, RFD-TV had his show in Feb., but dropped it for Mar./Apr. when they changed shows around. I remember the shows were repeats of early shows, but were narrated by a much older Justin Wilson.

Ray - Could your not feeling good have something to do with that fish sandwich? Question

Speaking of high prices, I here a Washington Nats baseball game, for a family of 4 for admission, one hot dog and one drink each will cost over $400.00 this year! Who can justify this as a family outing?Disapprove And this is a basement team.

Dennis, Sir James - My favorite golf course was a Par 3 course. Should have been a Par 8 course the way I played.

Jim - I did enjoy listening Justin Wilson's  "How you all are?" or "I guarrrrantee it!"

Laz, I hope the wind is not as bad up your way as it is here.  It would blow the fire away down here.  I haven't fished for trout in many years, did a lot of bass fishing, but none of that either for some time.  I did hear the license prices have gone crazy.

Well, I went...and I spent.  Bought the Western Maryland Trackside book...I guess I "needed" that.  Bought a LIONEL WESTERN MARYLAND PS4 flatcar...guess I "needed" that too.  Of course, I had to get a Cararama 1/43 U S Army Jeep CJ-2A w/trailer to go on top of the flatcar...so I can say I "needed" that for sure.

The GREAT SCALE Show this weekend has just as many operating layouts as vendors, if you get my drift.  Not exactly worth the $9 admission this time around.

dbaker - I park better than thatSign - Dots

laz - I drink better than thatSign - Dots

rt - Didn't catch all the details.Sad  Every job has its inherent dangers.  I don't dwell on it, just try to stay focused on my end.

fife thats what you have to do. My wife gets so wrapped up in things like that in bingington heck back when 911 was coming down I was at work called her and told her to watch the news were under attack in N.Y. well she got so stressed out and we were in tallahassee, FL at the time I almost had to go home to calm her down as she called my work and talked to my boss all stressed out. I almost cut the cord on the TV till she calmed down. but she agreed not to watch anymore news for a week.

Anyway been busy day today cultivated the last area for wife this am then cut the lawn with our push mower and then trimmed the bushes. took wife grocery shopping, Went to lowes and got material to build fence for garden out front because of a certain dog if I ever catch won't be in this county anymore might not be in this state lol. started fence will finish tomorrow.

been a busy day but felt good doing it.

Chief congrats on 2nd grand child on the way.

Talk to you all later.

Chief, Congratulations on the grandson.  KNow you and Pam are happy.

Don, You are too funnyLaugh  Hey, it may be one horse power, but it has a lot of Kick!  It also gets great milage.  I will leave tomorrow to make it there in time.  Glad your bride is doing well.  Regarding families, we see a number of "issues".  They tell me that we have the highest teen pregnacy/unwed mother population in the country.  Nothing to be proud of.  Naturally, with such a lack of family structure, it breeds contempt.  We are also the 9th poorest congressional district in the country.  Not to start a class warfare, but it seems that those without insurance, or those on medicaid seem to be the most likely to yell, most likely to demand things, and most likely to sue.  Again, not to start any fighting, just what I have observed in over 20 years of this.

Well, it has been a nice day.  Great weather, but that changes tomorrow.  completed the control panel, now to wire it up.  While I was working outside, kids were playing and just having the greatest time in the mud.  Wife gave them a bath to head to Chinese lessons.  Then we went to Tractor Supply to get some deer corn and some bungee cords for the feeders.  Did find several tractors and carts for the layout there too.  Picked up the kids and we all had a nice BBQ lunch at Sonny's.  Life is good!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

God Bless,
Dennis

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the high 50s.  With all this talk of golf, another great spring activity started today:  SOCCER!  I reffed two games today.  Good close competition with the games ending 2-1 and 1-0.  Just the local kids were playing and both games were on smaller fields and short sided  (9 v 9 and 7 v 7).  Lots of touches by lots of kids.  Getting ready for our Easter dinner on Palm Sunday tomorrow.  Went to the local high school musical Friday night and watched one of "my" soccer girls put everyone on the trailer with her performance.  Wow!  Quite impressive.  Ran the 384E tonight for an hour with NO Pileups!  Had the speed setting down low and it took two minutes to circle a 4x11 loop.  Brawn continues to dominate F-1.  Graham Rahal is on the pole for the IRL race.  The Manning Meira switch for AJ is not working too as Manning is starting 10th for D&R and Meira 17th.  Hmmmm...  Brutus, just noticed the new avatar!  The Beacon is lit.  Patrick, I think we can score several pork tenderloins.  Chief, congrats on the new grandson to be.  Teach him to play soccer.  I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
