Howdy All!  Just trying to keep up with the pot.  Daughter's recital practice went well.  They had someone pull a fire alarm mid way and so the rest was put on hold for about 20 minutes.  Video taped most of the event.  The guy who does the actual recital is horrible.  Gets paid top dollar for very amature work.  Borrowed a digital video camera from church and used it.  Will make copies of the DVD tomorrow to give to the little girls' parents.

Dad and I picked up a portable basket ball goal and ball for the kids.  Just have to fill the base with sand now.  We then took the whole family to a seafood restaurant for some great food.  Wife had frog legs and grits with some oysters, I had stuffed grouper with grits.  It was all good.

Well, family is here till Tuesday.  Hope everyone has a great week ahead.
God Bless,

Dennis

Good evening

We made it home from the birthday party, all went well and plenty of food. Oh we watched a program about trains in northern Michigan so I got some training in after all. Also watched the Kentucky Derby and boy a hundred dollars on a 50 to 1 bet would have bought a lot of trains. Waiting for the Tardis, banilla is ready....S.J.

Evening all from overcast Southern Ohio

Laz - I will keep your family in my prayers

Ever do something that you thing is a good hing and it backfires?  My bride was in a all morning meeting so I thought I would surprize her by doing something we have been putting off.  I rented a rug shampooer and shampooed all the carpet and rugs in the house.  Just as I am finishing bride comes home and asks what am I thinking, shampooing carpets on a overcast day, I say well it was too wet to cut grass.  That comment was taken all wrong.

Like they said, if momma ain't happy nobody is happy.

Ther may be a homily in there somewhere

May God bless

Good afternoon all,

It is dry and cooler in SE Indiana.  Watched "Dollhouse" and "Numb3rs" last night.  Did two soccer games today and watched half of another to review a couple of kid referrees.  Lucas is going to his girlfriend's prom tonight.  He looks sharp and she looks pretty, but her dress is laced up the sides and has an OMG look to it.  Oh lordy!  May go to a movie tonight.  I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning for breakfast.  I hope everyone has a good day.  Beacon is lit and I can drive.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Fife, Don't forget "I'm hungry, what's to eat" !

Morning All.......

May gray is here. Sigh

Workin on some loads for the "Unofficial Thomas Day" tomorrow, should be a real hoot. Need to make a Michael's run when they open to pick-up a few odds & ends so I can get it all together. Then it will be yard work time, yuck. The gophers have messed everything up so bad that the "yard & garden desire" has withered on the vine. Was pretty nice, not Homes & Gardens stuff, but very green and well planted. Now it looks like WWII was fought out there, major bombardments. Grumpy

Yesterday at the museum was a pretty fair day, although one engine was being a real PITA. I believe there is some sort of an electrical/electronics issue with it somewhere and just can't get it figured out. Oh well, tackle that on another day. Black Eye

The "better half" is having some hens in this evening so I think I'll find something to do in the trainroom tonite. Zzz

Good Morning.

Lots of layoffs here too, and with the Chrysler plants shut down small local business are feeling it already. The biggest industrial area in Mich. is turning into a ghost town of empty buildings.

Now, the sun is bright and going to the 60s. Laundry is in progress and a birthday party this PM for our two oldest grandsons.  That will be my day so I don't think trains will be  on the menu today...TTFN..S.J.

8ntruck, I remember years (and years) ago we had the same problem at home. My dad installed a one way valve in the floor drain that prevented the backup. As I recall it was simple to do. Chipped out a little cement around the drain, removed the drain and cemented in the new one way valve drain. Have you heard of this?

Prayers for your brother, Laz Sad

Tooks kids to Borders in two shifts since daughter was off school and had to go to a party tonight.  Son spent some of his allowance and earnings on video games and some on books.  I picked up new headphones since my old ones were broken and this set has a mic, tried it on the yahoo messenger and it worked great.  Hmmm - feels like zombie hunting could become a little more fun!  "You go left and I'll go right, Boomer around the corner," lol!  Wife is not amused as all she has had to listen to is something like this:

Click.  Click, click. Shoot!  Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click-Click....  DRAT!"  Or words to that effect Laugh

8ntruck, I think Tom (Spankybird) had a flooded basement a couple years ago?  Are your trains down there?

Tardis is ready and I see some beacons and some banilla, so here we go Smile

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Cloudy and showers again today.  One of them was hard enough to back up through my basement floor drains again.  I'm being charitable when I call what backed up through the drains gray water.  Started scrubbing the basement tonight.  Noticed the new floor paint I put down after what was left of Ivan flooded the basement last fall was starting to come up - another project Banged Head.  I'll have to call the city again Monday.  If they don't know that there is a problem, they'll never get around to fixing it.

Came home from work to find that the USPS had delivered my Autolite box car.  Eary 70's, Scout sized.  Interesting piece - inexpensive too.

When I got back to work this morning, I found that the guys had left me a 'lab report' from Thursday's date with the endoscope.  Opened it up and found a copy of my badge picture along with a note stating that the above was the only item found.  My wife got a really good laugh out of that one.  Think I'll take it in for the follow up appointment I've got with the doctor.

Laz - condolances for your loss.  I know what you are dealing with.  Dad died in early December last year.  He was creamated and is currently waiting patiently on one of mom's book shelves for us to decide what to do with him.  We will probably inturn him in the family plot at a time that will allow most of the family to get together.

Another Black Friday at the plant.  Today was the last day for about 80 people.  Sad, but a sign of the times.  If nobody is building cars, we don't need to build parts.  If we are not building parts, we cannot afford to keep people working.

Laz,
Prayers for you and your family. When you post about trout fishing with your brother, all I can envision is the scenes in 'A River Runs Through It'. Catch one and toss 'em back in for me! Then catch and eat one for me! Really miss eating freshly caught trout... one of these days I'll get back out there - hopefully with my son (no no news yet).

Laz, I never know what to say. My thoughts are with you.

I did some near home errands  and replaced a traction tire on one of my steamers. Charlie was kind enough to pick them up at York for me. Then out for friday supper.

Waiting  for the thingy, banilla in hand....S.J.

HI GYZ,

Got the log out log in routine.

Thanks for the condolances for SIL.  As you know she died on Christmas Day at 530 in afternoon.  She was cremated and had the Mass for her before New Years, and waited until ground was thawed to bury her.  BRO, still is choked up but he got through it.  As all of you had said, going to take time.  Thanks, again for your prayers.

Well did all the bill paying, run on treadmill, took dog for mulitple walks, then ran trains for 1.5 hrs. NO PILE UPs!!!!!  Great time!!!!

  TROUT FISHING with BRO tomorrow.

Laz, Condolences to you and your Bro man. As Dennis said only time mends the heart. Prayers to you all in this time of hardship.

Evening all hope all doing well. Went to chest clinic today and really didn't get any firm answers other than they believe also that its not Cardiac pains it more like muscler. I asked if maybe it could be pinch nerve or muscle from when the defibralator was put in and they said yes that is a very posiblity but no real way to prove it at this time. I wasn't trying to I told them just trying to figure whats going on as I told wife even if it is I believe it was done by accident and it just one of those things that happen.

Not much else happening at this time just did some running around today after the doctor apointment. talk to you all later

Good Afternoon all!  Laz, sorry.  Not much words can do to comfort.  Only time.

Well, parents arrived late this morning.  Plane was over an hour late.  ASA....it is typical for them.  Took them right from the airport to son's field day at school.  A bit on the warm side for them as it is in the high 80s.  Lots of fun watching the kids do their thing.   I am back at work.  Not much to do, but some paperwork.  Catch up on that and then we will head out for dinner tonight.  I think something in beef or lobster sounds good.

Doug, you don't need luck.  I am sure that you have done well and the review will reflect such.  But hope it goes well anyway.

Brutus, glad they have it pinned down.  At least they caught it this way rather than under emergent conditions.  Much easier and safer to deal with.

Hope everyone has a blessed weekend....Where's the Chief anyway?

Morning guys....

Breezy again today up to 80-85.  Sunny !!

I have to arrange to get the Hog later today, it’s tough driving 2 vehicles....

Getting ready to shut down the store tomorrow, I’ll be in early (hopefully I’ll be there the whole day, not like last time....  ).  I’ll still have more inventory to e-bay, just not right this week.  Memorial service will be Sunday at 2PM.

Again, I want to apologize to Don B  about having the post removed.  I really believe that it would have been an informative post.  I never meant to get into an “aggressive disagreement” over command systems, I just felt there were some errors, more now like my judgment in trying to clarify my statement.  Again, I’m sorry it happened.

Well, duty calls, I’m off to visit a couple of accounts as we have this big sale and I need to get 20-30 cars reconditioned and cleaned by the 15th.

Happy 1st of May Day!!
