Good morning everyone,

I just woke up. Haven't had a nice long sleep like that all summer. Won't be able to get used to it though, school is coming up soon. Jaabat congrats on your 2000 posts here on the forum.

Well, my fellow Pennsylvanians, Laz and Jefelectric, did you see the article in todays Inquirer about the tornado in Chester County? Oh, yeah, the paper also said that some areas could get about 10 inches of rain. It said around Philly, where I live, could get 3 to 6 inches of rain. Dosen't sound good for the weekend. ( I wonder if I am the only teenager that reads the Inquirer?)

Pond full.  Water flying out of spillway.  Hope it gets down some before the big rains hit.  It is right at the point of being on the roadway.  Then rises another 2 to 3 feet and goes out emergency run around.  Done all I can do except raise dam or concrete emergency run around [too expensive].  Light rain right now.  Time to work upstairs and run trains.  Later.

Good morning all. Here it is at long last, my 2000th post. But before any one congratulates me, I'll say that without the friendship and comraderie I've found here, there wouldn't be nearly that many. I've met some wonderful people on this forum and learned one heck of a lot. So thanks to all of you for becoming such a great part of each day. I really do enjoy your company! I spoke with the Chief last night for a good long spell. That numbnuts was making me laugh pretty good! Before I knew it, an entire hour had gone by. I'm glad to hear that Dr. John is happy with his 2037. Sounds like he got a great deal. I hope everyone has a great day. I'm off to make a cup of tea and have some breakfast. Jim

After reading the above quote I came to one quick conclusion. Someone has spent to much time talking to the Chief, he is also beginning to sound like a politician.   Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Ashamed [*^_^*] Whistling [:-^]

Oh, the jokes that could be made.

I think Chief needs to start posting and not stop until he gets this thread to page 1000.  Since he started it, he should be the one that sends it over the top.

Cut my weeds on Tuesday night.  Spent most of this evening spraying weed killer.  Not supposed to get rain until Friday evening here.  Had to do something, crab grass has taken over sections of what was once lawn.  Bad thing is if all the weeds die, not going to have much green.

Buckeye,

Did you get my second e-mail?  Looking forward to visiting.

Weird weather in St. Louis - cool and lots of rain lately.  Need to call my friend in SC and find out how they are doing - they have been very dry this year.  Preordered the Halloween Gondola, which brings me up to the entire 2006 collection.  Hope this stuff gets here soon!  I saw a pic of the new MTH catalog, which apparently has a Coors train on the cover???  Just for you guys that were talking about beer trains the other day.  Congrats to Jim A on 2000 and prayers for Lucas and all our friends who are in the way of some bad weather.

Just FYI for any fans of the original Star Trek Series with Kirk and Spock -- CBS dot com has a pic from the new special effects.  That's right, they have the guys who did the movies and stuff redoing all the special effects, title sequences, etc in the computer.  They are also adding more people and weather effects in various scenes and fixing some goofs, like rocks that bounce just like styrofoam etc in some episodes.  They will be broadcast starting in a couple weeks, but not in order - they are "restoring" them at the rate of one episode per week.  Oh - and they redid the music with a big orchestra and new female vocals -- they kept Shatner's old reading, but digitally cleaned it up.  Space - The Final Frontier, etc...

Good evening guys,

Didn't have time to post much today.  As Laz said this is the last page before we hit 1000.

Not much planned here for the holiday.  Hope to see the HS football game tomorrow evening, the moved it up to 5:00 PM from 7:00 PM in hopes of getting in it before the rain/storm hits.  Need to take down the hanging baskets and put some of the lawn ornaments inside before the wind hits.

Got some reading material in yesterdays mail for the weekend, Model Railroader, Trains & a Williams flyer.

Hope the Chief and everyone else in the storm path comes through all right.

Got to stay away from Barry's Train Skop.  Picked up another K-line reefer and a 3-pack of PRR cabeese.  They are all scale size and smoke.  $79.00 for the three of them.  The reefer was $22.00.  They are still marked 24.95 but I think Mike took pitty on me since I have this addiction! Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Hope everyone has a nice weekend, in spite of the storm here on the East coast.

Just remembered a question that I wanted to ask.  Some time ago I saw a post regarding using smoking cabooses on TMCC.  The post was a method of cutting down on the voltage to the smoke unit as with 18 volts on them they tend to smoke like crazy and burn out real soon.  Don't remember what was suggested, resistor, diode or what.  I can experiment, but if someone has come up with something that works, no point in reinventing the wheel.

Thanks,

for the season? YES it is because here soon there will be 1000 coming up shortly.
