Good evening,

Is it possible that the Chief is ignoring me?

19 Pages to Go!

Hope this works.  I got one of the K-line reefers lettered for Simpson Products Doggie Dinner.  It came with a sheet of punch outs to make 24 little cartons, each about 1/4 X 1/4 X 1/2.  The 7 year old grandaughter is visiting with grandma this evening and I asked them if they wanted a little project to do, and they fell for it.  I showed them how to do a few and left for the basement.  There are 13 folds to make on each of those little rascals.

Picked up a set of PRR BB-1s today at Barry's.  They are really neat, my first railsounds 5.0 loco.  There is a powered unit and a dummy with the railsounds.  For their size they sure run sweet and have all the bells & whistles.  Pun intended.  Among the other thousand or so projects I have on my list is to get the catenary up this winter.  It's been in the box for 2 years.

Yes, John, that's Gargraves on the outer loop. I only had enough for one loop. The inner loop and upper level are 031 Lionel.  The upper level goes thru the wall and onto a reverse loop with a 022 switch, that works automatically. There is a small table in the other room, 4 x 4 . My wife wants me to bring it out on the other side too and make a larger upper loop. Maybe. Thanks for asking.

Nice layout, Chuck!  Could you post a track plan?

What does REBS stand for, Chief?  I assume it's an anacronym, like OTTS?

I bid on two more train cars on Ebay last night that look pretty cool - a gondola and a boxcar -- hope I win!  In-laws visiting tonight with my niece and tomorrow we are celebrating my daughter's birthday.  She is mostly getting build-a-bear stuff, but also a Nintendo DS.

Marty, If you are ever in Ohio and visit one of our layouts, we will see to it that you get an Official OTTS Certificate.  For example, if you are in Columbus for the Buckeyes or at the Memorial, we can easily arrange a tour of the Baltimore, Ohio and Wabash Railroad in my garage room.  BTW, you don't work the camera in the blimp, do you?

Ditto on seeing Lucas having better days ahead.

Chuck, you haven't spent much time in Bowling Green.  Did you know that they now have windmills west of town to generate electricity.  The wind is ferocious in the winter at BG.  The highest hill in the county is the overpass above I-75.

Laz, I thought you were just some young pup maybe about 30 from your photos.  Your old like the rest of us.

Roy, did you see my photos of Philmont Scout Ranch?

No, I am inviting all to my house in Roseyville for EASTERN NC BAR-BE-QUE.  [which I will be enjoying at the Eagles/Smith Reunion Sunday at noon.]  Don't worry, I'll have plenty for all of those who show up.  One catch, all have to drink SWEET ICE TEA.  Two Yankees just left my house.  One said Ohizo was the arm pit of the north.  Wonder why?  I think it is because she is from Michigan and graduated from MSU.  She was redeamed as she graduated law school at Wake Forest Univ.  OH, they now like grits and sweet ice tea. Big Smile [:D]  Dennis, just won two items on Choochoo and one [probably my last] on Train Station.  Got them at a great price.  Good night.

PS: BTW Buckeye, if his arms had been longer, the fish would have been even larger [old trick to hold fish close to camera and fisherman farther back in the background, make the fish look larger]. Wink [;)]

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 71 degrees and going up to 81 today with a good chance of rain. We could use it, as the ground is dry. Looks like it rained last night.

I have a few things to do around the house today. I will run trains this afternoon. Probably work on layout.

Tom...It's good to hear that you had a nice, first week on the new job. It looks like you will be busy.

Well, off to the Dining car for breakfast. Be back later.

Y'all have a great day.

Hi GIZ,

Nice day here as for being cool.  A little overcast looks like rain?  We need some.

MARTY,  That as you know by now is the official OTTS membership certificate.  As BUCKEYE and TOM had said, it started at TOMs layout with TOM, BUCKEYE, and KEITH, I just gave ot the name, so I'm an honorary member of OTTS.  As for that other group called REBS?  CHIEF, don't you think the acronym GRITS would be better?  GRITS for GRIMEY RAILROADS IN THE SOUTH.   Oh this is too easy.

The Little Leauge World Series is right up the road from me and has started this weekend.  I was thinking of taking the ride about 50 miles up the road to check out a game.

   All have a good one?

Greetings from a grey and humid northeastern Illinois. I'm praying that Lucas has a good day today. Boy, the fog was so thick this morning you could walk on it. Checked out the air filter on my little car a while ago and it looks like a bird's nest - first two supply stores didn't have a new one - guess this car's getting too old (only ten years) for parts. Looks like the bride has me cleaning today. Maybe I'll get some "training" in when her friends come over...

I love Bob Hope - have some great old radio recordings of him. Love that fish on a flat car too. Speaking of fish, we went out to eat at a fancy seafood restaurant converted out of an old bank in downtown Crystal Lake. The highlight for me - apart from paying too much for the food - was a series of photos in the bathroom - from old post cards showing various C&NW train wrecks in our town.

Hope Lucas has a good day, and a much better week.

Attended the TTOS National (?) Convention yesterday in Costa Mesa.  This is the first TTOS convention I have attended since 84, sure has change a lot.  Now I understand why everyone talks about TCA.

There were 3 vendors selling NEW items, Lionel had a display table, No Legacy equip for display or demo, even on any of the layouts, and no catalogs available.  (He did say they had a demo at LCA earlier and catalogs are available from the company). They did have a foam board card showing the two Nascar trains, and a real polar express set.

Atlas had a table, and had some catalogs, engines and a very friendly representative from Arizona.  Emphasizing difference between Premium and Trainman series.  Verrrry interesting.

Third supplier had extruded aluminum display system.  OK, but way to expensive.  16 ft $275

The rest of the show was local members selling their stuff.  No real deals, everyone selling at premium prices.  What I thought was bad is the display area closes down at 3 pm.  The auction was extremely small as well.

Probably sounds like I'm complaining a lot, but what a disapointment.  Think I need to try and get to York, from what I here sure sounds great.  Maybe next spring.

Sad, to see a event and probably a organization decline so much.

Hello everyone,

I hope Lucas is doing well. I had a really good time down the shore, hung out around the house. Went kayaking, took the boat out for a little bit, and enjoyed all of it.

Oh yeah, I purchased a Gloor Craft, O scale kit for a water tower.  According to the documentation in the kit circa 1987.  Now I know NOTHING about kits, is this considered something of sifnificance?  I bought it to try and put it together, primarily to kill some time during an extended business trip I have to make in October.  Hopefully I am not destroying something of historical value.

Thanks for the headsup - I bought the bobbing ghost car from Grzboskys(?) last year for $50, I think.  I tried bidding on some of the other older Halloween cars on ebay last year, but they all went way too high for me - like $100!  Man!

Chuck - if you still have your plan on paper, just lay it on a table and try taking a picture?  I emailed a friend some woodworking plans that way last year and it worked "good enough".

SOunds like everyone is doing pretty well - praying for Lucas and the rest who need it.  Wanted to take my Father-in-law to the hobby shop, but instead my wife has other plans :(

Finally got on my desktop and cleaned out my emails this morning, so some of you guys should be getting spamed about now!  TTFN
