Welcome home Chuck.

Happy Easter all.

John, when you get that gas tank installed you won't be able to afford to fill it.

One for the Chief to check out at Bass Pro. Heard on the radio something to the effect that some Reble lures have a warning that its dangerous to swallow them. If true, we truely live in a land of idiots ruled by lawyers.

Happy Easter al!

Back from sunrise service. Defintiely no parking problems at 6:30 am. My daughter is in the youth choir and they performed the early service and did a great job.

Gearin' up for York trip.

First Easter here in years where the temps are warm (gonna be 90 today). Big family picnic at the park.

Chief - glad to hear Chuck did get out yesterday. When I talked to him Friday afternoon he was feeling pretty good and hoping to get home. As I posted Friday, he does have to go back in about 10 days to get the hole in his lung repaired.

Have a great day all!
Good Morning from Blueberryhill
and

Happy Easter

I AM HOME !!!!!!
I am doing great. Slept in my own bed last night. Going to enjoy a great dinner today.

Thanks to all of you, for your prayers and thoughts. I really loved the phone calls. They are so nice, while you are staring at a hospital wall. You guys are great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The plans are................. On or about the 23rd or 24th of April, I will go back into the same hospital, for about 3 or 4 days to get a small hole in the bottom of my right lung sewn up. This was the culprit, for the bad infection I had. Details are nasty. BUT, we got all the bad infection and fluid out and I feel 100 % better.
So, there you have it. I REALLY MISSED YOU GUYS.

Y'all have a great day !!!!!!!

One extreme to the other. Got 3" of snow yesterday... Oh well Spring will be here in a couple months.

Thinking of selling the ranch here. Then I would have to build a new house. Already talked to Mrs. PE about a very large daylight basement. She thinks thats a great idea. Will get a market analysis in a couple weeks, and decide then..............Tim

Chuck,
Welcome home!!!!!! Glad you could be home for Easter. I hope all continues to go well with you and that things are all done in your next visit to the hospital. One of our anesthesia folks is dealing with this in his wife. She has had a rough course of things too.
Happy Easter everyone. I am in the process of watching "Jesus of Nazareth" on the History channel. What a movie!, the cast is like a who's who of Hollywood before hollywood decided they were thier own gods. Just hope the day is more than big meals and chocolate bunnies.

First, welcome home, Chuck - very glad you are feeling better. I'm praying for your continued improvement and for your upcoming procedure.

Happy Easter, everyone! We had a great crowd at church today. I parked a couple of blocks away at a bank that let's us use their lot on Sundays. It was full when I left. Enjoyed lunch with the family, sister in law's family and my folks. Son was down in Foley, AL with his girlfriend's family (also her birthday). We had some ham, turkey, potato salad, green bean casserole, corn & rice casserole, etc. Is it just me, or does it seem like Easter lunches are becoming more like thanksgiving? Not that it's innaprorpiate - on the contrary it's another good day of thanksgiving!

And, a belated happy birthday to the coffee pot! I'm hoisting a hot mug of Community Medium Roast coffee as a toast to many more posts to come!

Welcome home Chuck,
Too bad you know you have to return there. Can't you place a small layout under the bed? I am sure this will cure any train fan faster.
Enjoy the easter weekend at home!

BTW I filled a gondola with 12 small chocolate eggs this morning. Suddenly there were only 7 left in the gondola. I could find them anywhere, until this evening when I found out that a boxcar was kind of heavy: my daugther did not eat them: she only hid them in the boxcar... (I must have a serious word with her when she wakes up)... LOL
Nothing beats a finished and restored train car......

Great to have Chuck home! Cold and rainy now. Kept the youngest home from Easter services because he was still sick. Because of that, the Easter Bunny was a bit late in visiting. I was five hours at rehearsal yesterday and six hours working today but the two services were wonderful with about 2,200 attending. Dr. John is right about Easter meal becoming a sort of junior Thanksgiving. We ate supper at 3 today - what a treat: a wonderful ham with a horseradish and cranberry relish, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls and a blueberry fruit salad. My wife put it all together and I cooked while she rested her back. Now to put the youngest to bed early and try to pry the camera out of the daughter's clutches so I can take a few photos for Sun. Tim, if you sold the ranch, would you stay in the area? I love living the mountain life vicariously through your photos.

Evening All,
What a great day with family and friends we consider our extended family. There weren't as many as usual since some of what used to be kids have since married and left the area.
Did a tangerine glazed ham with scalloped potatoes, mac-n-cheese, glazed carrots buttermilk biscuits and cornbread. Kinda lazy this year didn't feel up to making the yeast breads. To full for desert. [zzz]

Good evening everyone. Chuck I am glad that you are back home and that your health is doing much better.

I enjoyed a nice quiet day here by myself, watched the Ten Commandments, and baked a cake in the process. Cake turned out good though I havent ate any yet...will do so later on. Im sure it turned out great. Probably will watch two more movies before heading to bed tonight, and to make a list of the things I will need for upgrading my DCS. Though alot of the cables can be had from RS, I can get those cables cheaper at my local computer store.

Hope everyone has a nice evening.

It was a nice Easter here. The family went to sunrise service this morning. I fely bad not being able to go but it was the last day I had to stay inside. I am looking forward to tomorrow and going outside.

Chuck - Glad you are home and I hope you are getting some rest.

My 2 sons headed back to Ohio earlier. I really enjoyed seeing them for the weekend. Those of you who still have kids at home make sure you enjoy every day with them. They will be gone before you know it.

Good Monday Morning all,
Well, I am up early as I had to take some Nexium and a Mylanta chaser after our traditional Easter meal.....Chinese food. I know, not very traditional, but hey, it works for our family.
I just won The Train-Station auction for 3 more boxcars[:D] and I figure they will arrive while we are in Vegas. I know Chief, I am on restriction and what is the worst that can happen?[B)][B)] We are looking forward to the trip now. I have made reservations to go to the Grand Canyon and also to visit the Rail Museum in AZ on the south rim of the canyon. I hope that I can show Kim a good enough time that the small train purchases won't hurt that much. Just have to keep the cast iron frying pan locked up.
Well, time to get ready for work. Hope y'all have a great day and don't forget to eat your grits! [dinner][(-D]

Dennis, trip to Vegas should keep you out of the dog house. Jim A, and I will try to maintain the T&RSBA. I've done real good. Two weeks on the wagon. [:0] Been real tempting though.

Cooler here. Maybe a Tshower or two. We need real bad. Almost 7" below normal in rainfall for the year. Watering plants in the garden. [:(]

Time for GRITS. God bless all.

Good Morning All:

I hope everyone had a great Easter. Ours was a disaster. We had our family over and my wife put the precooked ham in our new oven. The oven has a built in probe/sensor. Unfortunately, the oven was not set up correctly and the ham turned into some sort of jerky. [xx(] Oh well, at least my son and my nieces and nephews enjoyed the trains running on the basement floor.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill
It rained all night. Thundershowers. Very loud. It is now, 50 degrees and going to 65. Rain to stop and be cloudy later. The ground is completely
soaked. Grass is growing like crazy. Buds on trees. Here comes summer.
I am feeling pretty good today. Still have pain in my right side. But, I am home.
We have to schedule the final surgery today, for next week. I'll be glad when it is all over.
I think I may try to run some trains today.
Well, I hope everyone has a nice day. Thanks again for your prayers.
Y'all have a great day.

That's too bad, John. I managed to undercook the potatoes for Easter dinner - I thought she meant they'd get harder if overcooked or was it the opposite?
Sunny and cool in Chicago today. Massachusett's Patriot Day holiday sounds like Pulaski Day in Chicago, or Lincoln's Birthday - both of which everyone has off except me.

Welcome back Chuck! So good to hear you are doing well and I pray you continue to improve and the final surgery goes perfectly!

Well, I'm working today - forgot to take it off, but I was off 2 days last week and 2 the week before anyway (though that time my back was out!).

They finished putting on the new siding Saturday at about 1PM. Saturday night, a storm comes in and hits us with HAIL!!!! I had a few choice words and was admonished by the wife. I checked and no damage, guess the air/siding was too warm to crack this time.

Went to hook up the dryer yesterday so I could get some clothes clean for visiting my folks and they put the exterior vent piece about 3/8 inch over a wall stud!!! I thought about carving the stud out, but couldn't figure how to do it without slicing up the siding. Finally, I made a piece out of flexible vent that went around the stud and attached it with aluminum tape all the way around so the hot/wet air won't evacuate into the wall. Then, Inside, I attached a piece of 4 inch diameter duct and ran that past the washer and attached with more of the old salvaged flexible venting to the back of the dryer, all sealed with more tape. I hope it stays on the dryer better. Using the straight, smooth vent sure increased the CFM from the dryer!

Sorry, no real train news - I spent the rest of the day in a stupor from all the chocolate and playing with the kids.

God bless us, every one!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
