[bday][bday][bday] COFFEE POT, hope we have MANY MORE.

The annual RITE of SPRING has arrived today in PA.
THE FIRST DAY OF TROUT SEASON.
It started this morn at 8 AM, I will be going after all the kids have left at about 2PM.
Letting all the kids catch the dumb ones first.

Had a few friends over last nite and ran trains for 2 hrs. all ran great.
No discipline problems.
All have a good one.

Morning all. Hope the folks in IN and OH did not get zapped too much with lightning. Radar last night was showing 2,000 stikes in 15 minutes in Ohizo. [:0] Off to mow grass. God bless all.

Morning all, I am watching the Trains and Locomotives show on RFD. Started with footage of a tripple headed steam! I know the description said South America, but it is actually the South African Railway. They have a bunch of stuff, even some turbines...boy can they blow black smoke!

Now, onto important things, Happy Birthday to The Pot!!! Chief, been a long run and I suspect it will go on for some time. It is such a pleasure to come hear and have a little chat with some train folk. Everyone have a great day. I hope y'all have a fantastic Easter, with a nice eggs and grits breakfast after sunrise service.
God Bless,
Dennis

Good Morning All:

Happy Anniversary to the ever present pot of coffee! A beautiful morning here in the Chicago area.

I have finally gotten my materials together to begin constructing a temporary table. However, with the weather so nice, and Easter tomorrow, I don't know if I will be able to make any progress on it this weekend.

Regards,

John

As John said, beautiful here in Chicago today - of course, I have to be indoors most of the day later for Easter serv. rehearsals. Youngest still sick. Made a whole bunch of trees while sitting with him yesterday. Practically memorized the Heffalump movie. I know he's sick because he didn't get into the tree stuff.
Boy, has it really been two years of the unquenchable pot? I'm embarrassed to think about how much this thread means to me. Hope you catch something, laz! Have a great day all.

Doug - Hope your son feels better soon. Gotta be rough when you get sick and we finally have some nice weather.

Took the kids to the SOX game last night. Southsiders had a bad night. 13-7 loss to the Blue Jays.

Morning all. Late night installing XP over ME. The upgrade went fairly well but Norton was the PITA. Had some issues with it. Also need a new sound card appearently. Hope all are well. For those going to York be safe.

Good Morning and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE COFFEE POT!!!!!

[bday]

Had a late night last night. We took the family to a gospel concert last night and didn't get to bed till after one. So a late start this morning. Plan to do a little gardening and greenhouse work. Have started hardening off the bigger plants.

Doug, I would like to ride the Empire builder, but haven't convinced my wife yet. From here that means spending 3 nights on the train. I love it but she is not quite so enthusiastic.

Mitch, I have a WM beep just like yours. I tried to get a matching caboose but have not been able to find one.

A blessed Easter to everyone.

Marty, ninety percent of the hardware / software problems i deal with have to do with incomptabilities between well-meaning anti-virus and anti-malware software and legit programs. I feel your pain. Just browsing while waiting with the young'un - beats watching Sat. morn TV... Bring back Bugs Bunny!

Off to work at the Club today, get ready for next weeks open house. The facility has been broken into twice this past week. The layout has NOT had any damage, but they have gotton paint an graffetti all over the outside. WHY? Why? why? [V][}:)]

Nice day here, but will get to 89 so it is warm.

What! - still no Buckeye! [B)] Did the Chief finally do him in? [oX)]

Spanky - layout progress looks good. That is an interesting support structure.

Happy birthday to the POT and all the potters!

Got a funny email from a buddy that retired to SC:

"Public Works department had to break up beaver dam that included 4x4 treated posts and carbon dioxide canisters used in soda fountains along with the usual logs and mud. This was behind an Applebee's and across the street from a major shopping center. There are three smaller dams upstream that are the next project. Area homeowners had been complaining since January about flooded yards. The dam was described in one part of the article as 125 feet long but the picture caption says 700 feet. One beaver was caught. He will be executed."

Chief - were you up in SC lately???

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

PS - Doug, you should invest in some quality dvds of good programming like the original uncut Bugs Bunny cartoons, Tom & Jerry, etc. Hope your child starts feeling better for the big day tomorrow!

MartyE -- I also feel your pain. In the past I have had to uninstall and the reinstall Norton to get Windows to update correctly and then get the old home network operating again. Still, I like Norton the best of the firewall and antivirus programs I have used. It was better back when Peter Norton really owned it though.

Windows XP is 100 percent better than ME, which never worked properly for me.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

It's usually best to do a fresh installation of XP rather than installing over an existing one, especially ME. Usually when upgrading you tend to have alot of problems in the upgrading process and then find alot of hardware and software wont run properly. Whenever I install OS's I always install from scratch. Less hassle that way and dont have to worry about too many problems.

Well I finally got my DCS set out of layaway today, feels great to have this system finally in my hands. Forgot to get an 18V adapter for it though, may have to go back later and grab one. But either way I wont be able to use it anyway until I get a PS2 engine. And since I didnt see a sticker or heat-stamped letter of any kind underneath the TIU, im afraid I may have the 'G' unit. Looks like I will have to get an inline fuse to go with it, though I never done any soldering.

I will find out later though what version of this unit I have software wise....will have to hook up some track and transformer to find out.

Beautiful day out here, and sunny as well. Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Evening all.
Just had a little Easter celebration with the kids. Do some of it tonight as we know that trying to do it with them tomorrow will be impossible if we want to get to church on time and then with the rest of the festivities of the day.
Spent the day mowing grass. I think it cost me the most it ever has to fill up the tractor and cut grass. Oh well, I suppose I have nothing to complain about considering the significance of this weekend.
I do hope to get busy with laying track soon. I just found a source for free 3" thick styrofoam. Though I had wanted to make mountains by a different method, the price is right.
Have a Blessed Easter one and all
Dennis
