Doug, if you have to rebuild and use Jim's idea you could add legs similar to a gurny (sp), ambulance stretcher, with casters to roll on when the legs are folded and the legs dropping open when they clear the edge.

Great ideas. I think they have to drill into the crawl - I want that tube in the corner somewhere. And then they cap everything with plastic. Then I'd like to explore covering the whole thing with indoor/outdoor carpet. I like the drawer idea. I have to do some measuring. And I'm not touching anything yet.

Hi gang,

Just got home from the TCA openhouse. Jerry Calabrese, pres. of Lionel announced that the K-Line deal is done and that as he spoke they had semitrailers at the K-Line warehouse loading all of the inventory and records. He also said that they will be keeping the K-Line product name and that it will become the "Middle Grade" in their product line. They will have some K-Line products in the 2006/2 catalog.

Also heard from Jim Weaver of Atlas O, Mike from MTH, A rep from Weaver, I have forgotten her name. Third Rail and Marklen also gave talks. Very interesting day.

Off to York tomorrow.

Now I will take the time to read the other posts and see what I missed.

Good evening everyone, nice sunny day out here in MI. Temps gotten to the low 70's today, so nice to walk out there w/o having to wear a coat of any kind for a change. Supposed to get some rain tomorrow, but unsure if that will happen.

Ran my first test of the DCS system last night, though was only able to do conventional since I only have two PS1 engines. Ran it on a small circle of test track, and it ran quite well. Quite awesome to run the locomotive from just the remote! [:D] Once I finally get my first PS2 engine (the Big Boy) I'll be able to put the system to the test.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

Heh, yeah quite ironic, especially when one gets a DCS system they usually run command control-based engines. The art of running conventional from the variable channel is quite unsusal for a first-time DCS user! [(-D] But eventually I will get to that stage. The only barrier in the way is money, as always.

Good Evening Everyone !! Been since Saturday fixing my fuel tank & broken lines on the pump. What a job, but I think I saved a ton of money doing it myself. We brazed new lines onto the fuel pump, but then nothing would line up & the new lines were hitting the frame. I had a lot of tinkering to get it all to work. I must have taken the tank down 5 times or more. Then, when I thought I was done last night, it wouldn't start. Tonight, I reversed the lines on the pump & it started right up ! Whew !! Boy am I glad I'm done now !! [:D][:D]
Hope everyone is having a good week !
Thanks,

Keith,
You've never heard of exploding sharks before?! Well then do yourself a favor and watch the 1966 movie "Batman" with Adam West. Who can forget that scene where he gets lowered into the water on a helicopter's ladder, comes back up with a shark attached to his leg? Once a dose of Bat-shark repellent is sprayed on said shark, it falls to the water below, where it explodes! Holy exploding maneaters!!!!

I watched a video about the San Diego Model Railroad Museum last night. Very interesting. Then one on New Hampshire railroads. The kids enjoy watching the toy train videos, but go right to sleep with the real ones.

Got home too late to mow the grass last night. Will have to do that Friday.

Good morning all,

It is partly cloudy with temps headed to the 70s today in SE Indiana. I did some soccer drills and ran the 384E last night. This was part of their Ready-to-Run set, and the box car that came with that set does not track as well as three of the separate sale cars I had purchased earlier. If I tinker with the track, sometimes it will run ok, but I hate fiddling with items like that. One of the reasons I got into standard gauge is that the stuff just runs. Even some of my original cars from the 30s track ok thru the curves, but this box car is so finicky. I wrote to MTH one time, but they did not have many ideas on what to do. Depending on the weather, I will either work outside or go to the Y tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning all,

I'll be heading to York in a bit. Temps predicted to hit the 80s today so I broke out the shorts.

Had a great time at the TCA openhouse yesterday and met a bunch of nice people. A picture was posted on one of the forums, but I don't remember which one, of Mike Wolf and Jerry Calabrese posing on each side of a little gal in a stroller. Neat shot.

John, Glad you got your wheels rolling again!

Hope you all have a pleasant day.

Good Morning All:

Another beautiful day in Chicagoland. Although it may get a little too warm for my tastes (80's).

Chuck:

Good luck today. I hope everything comes out okay.

Jaabat:

I had a chance to see your website. Great pictures. I love your trees and I will be trying those out myself. However, could you explain something to me? I am assuming that the picture of the family is you, your wife and daughter. Why, as someone who lives in Massachusetts, are you wearing a St. Louis Cardinals hat?

Good morning everyone,

It is another beautiful day here in WNY with sun and temps of about 70 expected. Sounds like we will get some rain for the weekend. Probably will do a little more yard work this morning and then may go for a bike ride this afternoon. This week of vacation is going by rather quickly.

Chuck - Good luck and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dave -Thanks for helping me to learn something new everyday.

All you guys at York - I hope you have a great time. I look forward to hearing about it and seeing any pictures you have. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Have a good day all.

John,
I own a lot of baseball hats. I just happened to be wearing a Cards hat the day that photo was taken. Lately, I've been wearing my red Washington Nationals hat. I got it from my wife and kids last Father's Day. I'm a Red Sox fan, but also just a big baseball fan. So much so, that I once did a painting of Yaz that ended up hanging in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y. There it was, right in the middle of a Leroy Neiman and my favorite, Norman Rockwell.

The people in the photo aren't related to me. I just asked them to pose for the photo. [;)]

Jim:

That is so cool! Is the picture still in Cooperstown? Since you are a BoSox fan you would really appreciate the White Sox announcer, Ken "Hawk" Harrelson. While Hawk can be really annoying, he really LOVES Yaz. Nary a game goes by without a mention of the former Red Sox star.

John
