Sunday comis? I'll vote no as well.

The Sunday comics aren't anything like what I remember as a kid. Back in my day, it was *** Tracy on page one, baby. Inside was Snuffy Smith, Lil' Abner, Gasoline Alley, Henry, Price Valient, Nancy and Sluggo, Peanuts, and Blondie.

Ah, Blondie. Hands down, the hottest woman in all of comicdom. Am I right?

HI GIZ,
33 and nice here to get to 48?

MITCH, I too have a bargin shopper.
She loves to go to Goodwill and get her school clothes. She doesn't like to pay top dollar for anything. Shes alot like me anytime there is a good scrounge she'll take it.
Oh well gives me more $ for trains.

As for the comic chicks, I'll vote for AUNT FRITZIE in the NANCY comic.
What a bod.
HUBA HUBA!!!!!

All have a good one?

Good morning,

Well Laz, looks like you didn't get your snow day! Sunny and 38 here. This is going to be a short work day. Going to the office for a few hours, then lunch with my wife. Got to go to a local train shop and pick up an engine I had ordered. I wont say what it is, I want to see if Colin can identify it on Sunday. Laz, I also married a younger woman, I have been retired since 2001 and she is still working. When she asks when I want her to retire, I usually say , 85 sounds like a good age. Seriously, she is supper active and I think she would be bored out of her mind in retirement. After a few days of vacation she is ready to go back to work.

We go away each summer for a few weeks up to Ossipee, NH, which is only a hop, skip, and a jump away from North Conway, NH. Well, I found out that Thomas the Tank Engine is going to be at the Conway Scenic Railroad while we are up there, so I just bought 5 tickets to see him and ride with him. My kids are going to flip when they see him! Michael will start saying hummina hummina hummina repeatedly, John will simultaneously faint and turn into a liquid, and my daughter, Julia will start screaming like the teenagers used to do for the Beatles.

Five tickets to a Day With Thomas: $95.00

Seeing your three kids go out of their minds with joy: Priceless

And a Happy St. Paddie's day to you all from a cold, brisk wind, and snow-splattered Chicago. Aye, the Murphy clan usually attends some celebratory festivities but for some reason, all the parades in Chicago were last weekend - I remember years ago when I would generally retire about now (08:29 am) to a local watering hole to celebrate the day. Added a few braces to the GP4.5 last night - we'll see how it runs with a non-swiveling truck.

Happy St. Pat's everyone. Monto, Ides of March - the 15th if you want to learn more, read J. Ceasar. As for cartoon gals, how about Ms. Buxley from Beetle Bailey? And yes, my Wife is older than I and I won't be reminding her any time soon[B)] John, I think it is important for one to have something to retire to, that being said, I have my trains, photography, hunting, and great friends and family. My father in law has no hobbies, and work seems to be what keeps him going. I have seen too many retire, hate it, and then die misserably.
Have a good one,
dennis

Good morning all,

It is sunny and in the 30s in SE Indiana today. I got out of class late last night and did not get to do much except some more "Family Business" with my son. The granddaughter is supposed to visit this Sunday, but nothing else major is planned. I hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day. One of our favorite family jokes is when we hear an obviously non-Irish name (such Banowitz or Chief Eagles), we say it used to be O'Banowitz or O'Chief Eagles, but they dropped the "O'" so that people would not think they are Irish.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Hello,

Tom, How did you do that? Green filter on the camera? Photoshop?

Dennis, I agree completely with you. My father in law retired from farming and just sat and watched the traffic go by. Completely ruined his health, developed diabetes and other complications. I keep telling my wife that my goal in life at this point is to die with a long list of unfinished projects. Probably will as I haven't completed 10% of what I thought I would get done in retirement and have been retired for over 5 years.

Don, Check out page 722. The pictures are near the top of the page and the description is in another post further down the page.

Laz, Yes she does.

We had a beautiful day today, temps were in the 50s but it seemed warmer than that.

John & Dennis--

Many years ago I remember hearing a report that said in order to be happily retired that one needed several hobbies or interests that they could become involved in. My trains, photography, bicycling, lawn and part time job (on my terms) keep me more than active. I think when I leave my part time job(s) I'll even be more happy and add traveling to the equation. Plus that stack of books that I want to read seems to grow every month[:)]

Just finished raiding Buckeyeland. Now in WV. Got to deliver a specail package to Buckeye. Opened the suitcase and the package had been opened [by NSA, had to be]. [V] Guess they thought it was drugs. [;)] Buckeye has a picture of me presenting the package to him right in front of Roger's Corner. Perfect. Cold up here. Off to the room for microwave popcorn and Pepsi One. A little TV in there too. Man did I see some massive train yards from the air today. Want to visit the Toy Train Museum here tomorrow. Lunch time travels. God bless and good night.

Retiring can or can not ! My wife retired with 30 years at the age of 51.She hasn't regretted it .I retired last year at the age of 56 and haven't regretted it yet.
After catching up on all the stuff I left "for later" and all kinds of new"stuff" that has popped up I haven't had much time to think back or even miss the old jod.
This year alone there are 4 fishing trips, one Union convention in Vegas, and a lot of train shows to go to
So I guess what I am saying is "If you can do it.DO IT" You won't regret it.And believe me YOU ARE REPLACEABLE AT THAT JOB.
