I wonder how much longer this thread is going to be allowed to remain open. It is taking longer and longer to go from page to page. I also believe it is taking up a lot of disk space unnecessarily because I just can't imagine anyone reading it from the beginning now.

Good evening, Yes, checking in twice a day is the way to go. Not so much to catch up on at one time.

Now that I got the new shelves installed, thanks for all the good comments, I am rearranging things in the train room a little and doing a general house cleaning. A lot of stuff to chuck out.

Jim, how about some pictures of the glass shelves. I put up some glass shelves a few years back for the wife's Teddy Bears.

Sounds like a lot of illness in the group. Hope everyone gets to feeling better, guess we need some real warn weather.

Laz, I got my York badge today. The wife will not be going along, she would sooner watch grass grow than go to a train show. I do get her on a real train on occasion.

Roger, got your email from some messages you replied to with Chief and all. I will send you a message soon. Look forward to catching up.

As for the length of this thread, It has plenty of useful information exchanged and is where we actually get to be ourselves and say Hey. I don't think they will stop the thread, Just archive some more. As time goes on, some will leave, more will come.

Good evening all from W. Michigan.....a cool day, temp was around in the 40's today. Overall not bad. Had a nice drive going through downtown Chicago going to Lombard. And I took lots of pics from Gary, IN all the way thru Chi-town. Took alot of live trains along the route as well. I am going to process them and post a few pics. Alot of rail action today.

@Tom, I will try to see if I will be able to make the trip this weekend. Depending on how my work schedule runs Friday and if I get my money to the bank in time, I will know for sure. I'll email you if I am able to attend. Being a 5 hour drive i'll have to leave pretty early Sat morning to get there before noon.

I hope everyone that's under the weather will get better soon. Sickness can really be tough. The last time I was full blown ill was in Xmas of 2003.

LAZ,

I am not sure if we will have any openings in Tech Ed as they call it. Today was the big job fair in Carroll County. Didn't get home until 9:00 PM. If you want I could e-mail you the web address. Might be a long commute[;)].

Man, I wi***hey would not let those SHORTLINE [CSX] Railroads on the tracks. [;)] Just leave it all for the great NS. [:D]

Hey, big Raleigh's Mayor tried to trash us on the TV. Not too good of a job. Just makes us madder and we dig our heels in harder. Funny thing is, if the developer and the town [Roseyville] come to an agreement and since Raleigh refused to make a temporary agreement, the area is annexed retroactive to March 6. I am the one who devised the motion and it carried eunamously at the March 6 meeting.

Bedtime. Early Roseyville meeting and then garden to fix. Already packed for Friday's flight into "hostile" Yankeeland. One Yankee General has already retreated. Claims he has to take his wife to the Dr. [Just picking Chuck, sorry we will not hookup Friday] The GRITS are on the way. [:D]

Good night. God bless.

Good day to all. Yesterday we completed the inside framing of the Habitat house. We were done in about 6 hours. Nice weather day for work outside, in the 60’s. Today supposed to be cooler but sunny again. I went to bed early last night and got up for the usual 4 a.m. “interruption” and am now wide awake. So I decided to say howdy to pass the time until the sand man returns. He’s getting close.

Good morning from Gettysburg where it is currently 36 with high predicted to be 48. Calling for some snow overnight into the AM. Maybe LAZ will get that 2 hour delay he is hoping for. We are in the process of giving our state test for No Child Left Untested so a delay would mess us up, but we can't control the weather.

Have a breakfast meeting that the Superintendant "strongly" encourages us to attend. Guess I best get myself in gear to get on the road.

Have a great day.

Good Morning from sunny Gormley.

I assume they haven't finished digging the well next door as the drilling rig is still there. Probably gonna keep drilling 'till they tap into water somewhere under Roseyville [;)]

Doug...thanks for the link to Q-Car. I was particularily interested in some of the street details they offer.

Roger...Congratulations! It sure would be great seeing your layout in print.

Bruce W., I'm working hard on getting the County to pass regs to protect individual wells from community wells. "If you drill a community well, it causes well problems for existing shallower wells, you have to furnish water free to those damaged wells." You'd better get involved up there.

Morning all. Partly cloudy and highs into the 60's [average for us this time of the year]. Town meeting so out the door. Then finish working the garden [lime and numatacide]. Later and God bless.

Good morning all,

It is sunny for now in SE Indiana, but the rain is coming. Temps should hit near 50 before starting to drop. Went to the Y and watched "Veronica Mars" last night. The son got a card game called the "Family Business" which we played a couple of rounds last night as well. It has a gangster theme to it, which he is into for some reason. He has an interest in history and he likes the weaponry involved. It is nice to do something together. Chief, again good luck with your struggles.

Keep on training,

Good morning,

Clear & cold here at the moment. Looks like our friends in th midwest are getting today what we are predicted to get tomorrow. Hope it's not to bad for any of us.

Hope to pick up some Gargraves track to put in the new display cases today.

Sounds like the health complaints are down a little bit, that is good.

Since it is going to be too cold to work outside this weekend, maybe I can actually get in some train time. I want to revise my wiring a little for better control and DCS operation.

All have a good day.

Ain't it great, Chuck!! This weekend we get to pound the Chief with snow, too. What a great country!!!

Tom, is there a contingent of OTTS members going to the show? When? Is Tom S. flying over from NY? Is LAZ going to be there with his bear? [:D]

Last night was a track cleaning night. They are squeaky clean now. Also, I had to defoliate my previous work along the larger river's bank. Seems I put so much foliage along the bank, it obscured the view of the river. All I could see was the opposite bank! Much better now.

Been very busy lately. Home, work, everywhere. Looking forward to the train show in 2 weeks. Gonna go a-l-o-n-e this time. Last time, the 2 boys had a hissy fit over some fooli***hing and cut the day short right then and there. Screamed their butts off. I just picked up one in each arm and hauled them right home. They can stay home this time.

After the train show, I think I'll bop around to a few train shops and see what's what. Never been to North East Trains, so they are on my list.

Looks like Chiefie will be in town, tomorrow. As long as he just passes thru and
doesn't touch anything, he'll be all right. We will be watching.
Well, time for breakfast.
Y'all have a great day and stay sunny.

Good morning,
Its been a while since I posted, so sust to let everyone know everythings cool on the left cost. Going to a local play this evening son and wife are working as volunteers at the local playhouse so tonight is dress reherssal.
Added an elevated circle to our floor layout in the family room, plans are coming along great on our room expansion. Also joined the Angels Gate Hi Railers club last night. Was a good time, really enjoyed the group. We ran our full scale Cab Forward, it was a big hit. The engine and everything was working great! Learned a lot too! Going to change our layout plans to Atlas and Ross switches. So much more flexibility, and better space utilization.
Best to all, hope everyone feels better. Surprised so much to do over the water issues I thought their was plenty in that part of the country.

Good morning guys,
Today should be a whole lot better than yesterday. I should be getting out of work early and getting to work out. The hospital I work for just built a multi million dollar gym for employees across the street, it is huge and has plenty of the latest equipment, so time to burn the fat that I wouldn't do reading train books and watching videos.
Anyway, mom did our accounting (she works for a big firm) and looks like we will be getting plenty back due to the adoption and other deductions, and now we will have enough to break ground on the building for the trains. [:D] Now I actually have to start getting the plans down for the tracks and give the Chief a place to run his trains.[;)] Just kidding Chief, you are always welcome, but by then you will have your own place to run. Take care and have a great day.

Morning, everyone.

Raining and cool this morning in Prattville, AL. Can't really complain as we need the rain. Family is about to scatter to the 4 winds for spring break. Oldest daughter stops in this evening on her way to visit friends in Florida. I'll drive my son to the airport in Birmingham in the morning as he heads to Italy for 10 days. Wife and younger daughter are going on a cruise with my son's girlfriend and her mother, leaving Saturday and gone for a week.

Me and the dogs are gonna run some trains next week! At least as soon as I can set up a temporary layout.

Have a good day!

Go Dennis go ! Snowing here in northwestern Illinois. Some parts of Chicago may get up to 6 inches. Ugh. Hope to fix the truck on the GP4.5 later today. Italy for 10 days - wow, Dr. John. Hope your son enjoys the experience. We went a few summers ago for a week, and it was wonderful.

Hey Dr. John and Doug, Thanks, unfortunately, I got my 3rd star adding my [2c] to a conversation about payback to a 10+ year old who broke the shell on an engine. This is usually such a friendly and civil forum, but I have issues with people giving bad advice and shaping the attitudes of our younger generation. Hopefully the lesson will get where it is needed.

Thanks again, and have a good one. BTW Dr. John, I wish I could spend a week running trains, now I only do it when I can bring the kids up for a short spell and keep the attention without letting them get too agressive with the trains.

Well, I wish I could run trains the entire week. I'll still be at work, so I'll do my running in the evening. Still looking forward to it. None of my kids have ever had any interest in trains, so I'm kind of a lone ranger when it comes to operating trains.
