Rain, rain, go away come again in July and August when we really need it! Wet and chilly here this afternoon.

Great jokes all, I might go back an plagerize them and shoot them out to a few friends.

I think I'll go hide in the train room this afternoon. House full of females. the Mrs., 3 granddaughters, and one 5 yr. old girlfriend. [sigh]

Hello Roy I was looking at the " where do you live thread" and I noticed that you are in richardson Texas. I spent many weeks there attending seminars with Northern telecom. The school was in Plano not too far from where your at. Is northern telecom still around? Felix

Good afternoon all,

Bruce,
Isn't the R/C flying season pretty short up there? In the old days I did a lot of C/L flying and then went into R/C gliders. Now I'm mostly into trains. You should keep some trains for the Winter season.

I have to confess, had grits again for breakfast.

They were getting gallons of fuel.

I was there buying all the cans of dull Coat they had.
This week I stocked up on paint, about 20 cans and glue, tape, platic inshheet for for making walls and wood for supports and tressles.

Jefelectric has me thinking, I have a battery hellicopter, If the batteries are good I will fly iy in the street today.

Hey everyone, just remember about those ladies that Jim is going to grovel in front of, no matter how good looking, no matter how great the figure, somewhere is a guy who is tired of putting up with her.[;)] I have dated some knock outs, and quite honestly, Thank God I did not end up marrying one of them. My bride is all I could ask for and then some (she even puts up with my train habbit, I mean hobby).

Just came in from the train room. I went out there to get away and was happy "planting" a few more trees. Just as I was getting ready to close up shop here comes the whole crew that I left the house to get away from: wife, 3 granddaughters, their friend and her mother. My wife wanted to show the mom the trains since there's a 9 yr. old son at home that might like to see them.

Ever try running 3 trains, talking to someone, and telling the granddaughters that they know what they can and can not touch, not to be showoffs because of company, i.e. audience.[banghead][banghead]

I guess I can expect a call from the Dad and son to stop over and see the layout.[^] Maybe I can get another convert.

Sounds like fun Roger, I just had my two youngest granddaughters (3 & 5) in the train room to watch trains, so I know what it is like. They have a hard time not touching.

Don't know if any of you ever visit the Classic Trains Forum, but there is a real interesting thread there right now about water scoups. If you check it out, don't miss the link on one of the comments. It is great.

This might be something for David Virgun to consider modeling now that he is doing away with the center rail. It would be quite interesting [:o)] to see done in model form.

Hey guys
Got over $200 in donations so far, still waiting for more to come. Well, I am one of only a few students that have recieved a letter from the diciplinary office, for having "a mature attitude to all rules and regulations in school." I know I will still be able to keep it at a 100 for conduct, for the next semester.

I don't mean to monopolize the thread but I am finding a lot of interesting items today.

If you like articles on old models don't miss this one.

felixg,

Welcome to the Coffee Pot. I worked for Nortel Networks (Northern Telecom) for 9 yrs. I survived all the layoffs only to have to do the work of 3 people and being on the road over 60% f the time. Never home. Not the way I wanted to live. So I moved on.

Too bad about Don Knotts. Lots of fun and I am glad I got to watch him from Andy Griffith days through recent times. Hope I live as long.

Roy

Regards, Roy

Bruce- Don't sell your trains.you'll regret it later. What if one of those RC Planes goes crazy & targets one of the Corvairs for a Crash Landing or Dive Bombing?[:o)][:O] Can you say "America's Funniest Home Videos" ? Maybe you can buy one from Jim Duda that is small, lightweight, and you can glue a Fly to it in order to make it go up.Some assembly required as they are very lightweight & made from Balsam Wood and come in a plastic bag for $1.00 [;)][:P][:)] Talk about a inexpensive hobby, That'll save you money & if one of them crashes into a Corvair no harm done.[;)] Take Care all

They were surprised to find that in most of the autos the recorded last
words of drivers in 61.2 percent of fatal crashes were, "Oh my God"!

However, the results in Ohio showed for places like Roger's Corners, Willoughby, Conneaut, Seven Hills, N Canton, Caldwell, Westerville, and Parma were different, where 89.3 percent of the final words were:

"Hold my beer, I'm gonna try somethin."

There was one other data point somewhat related to the above, Millersburg, PA, but it was thrown out due to some comment about a 600lb bear driving.

After a dead day at Cablea's [guess they all left town with Duda], it is great to read some good jokes. Now for some micro-wave popcorn and Pepsi One. Rest and watch TV. The girls at the front desk look like 13 year olds and have the giggles. Too much torture. Later

Good evening all,

It was a sunny day in SE Indiana with the temps starting in the 40s and dropping into the 30s. We had a nice day with the pregnant daughter and her husband. She was able to eat her mom's home cooking, and my wife sent a bunch of food home with them. I got up early and did the housework, paid some bills and went to the y before the weather turned cooler. Gas here is 2.259, which is close to what everybody else is reporting. Buckeye, if you come to downtown Indy during the day, look me up. I have enjoyed all the "scenery" posted lately, both train related and non-train related :-) I hope everyone had a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening everyone,

It was a nice day today. I know I have a great wife because today was our anniversary and she didn't mind me spending the morning at a train show. A few folks from our church stopped over this evening and there were some kids here. They got really excited about the trains. One boy came up to me later and asked if we could run them one more time. I let him use the TMCC controls and he was thrilled to drive the train. It was great seeing him enjoy it so much.

Have a nice night.
