Good Morning all,

NE Ohio is cloudy with light rain – snow mix at 36 deg. That groundhog really can’t count.

Doug – one time my review was put off so much, I had my raise in my paycheck before my boss told me about it.

did you know that tomorrow is 050505?

I've got a small problem with my deluxe gas grill. It doesn't work well when it is windy.

My backyard, b/c of its location is WINDY 80 or more percent of the time. Fortunately, the wind is prevailing in one direction, making construction of a windbreak desireable.

I'm considering getting some natural stones from the fields and cementing them together around 3 sides of the grill so that the grill is protected. Has anyone tried doing this?

Hi David, I'm in exactly your situation on our deck. I eventually planted a big wind-breaking (no comments necessary...) bush, but previous to that also created a portable screen using an old door I could put up as a windbreak too. First day with the boys - already they are fighting. The 2 yr. old knows just how to bug his older brother. Off to the basement with them!

The south does not have that in MAY!!!!! Be nice to us southerners or we will ask that you get more of that. Now out into the sun and watch the garden grow. Might even go fishing in the pond. [;)][}:)] God bless all.

Doug,

yeah, bummer.

BTW

after the horrible accident (actually, they think it was on purpose), between the parked SUV and commuter train in Calif, officials have sealed off the front end of the backwards running trains so that no more passengers will be killed in the unlikely event of another accident.

Got the info from June05 Trains.

VRE has not similarly shut off its death zone area and people continue riding up in the front.

A very cool (50's) and drizzly day here. Youz gizs up nurth have irritated the Chief so bad that cold weather is spilling all over the place. News said that this May was coolest on record for N Texas. Temps this week are 20 degrees below normal.

Forgot to mention earlier that Richard Kuhne & his wife, *** Mattox (now Atlas O), and Nick Ladd (now K-Line) were at the York event also. All of these folks were very nice to meet.

Have a great day all.

Weedeated the area for the new pistol/rifle range behind the pond dam. Sprayed it with the new Roundup [nothing grows for 4 months]. We'll see if it works. Did that to the long road in yesterday. Got the widow lady's yard mowed and both [mine too] weedeated. Now for a break. Off to Mom's down east for some real pork bar-be-que. [:)] Coffee post sure has been quite today. Guess the Yankees are sulking due to the snow and cold. [}:)] Dr. John, hope the son is doing OK. I think we need to send out a search party for SkyRay. Anyone know how to contact him????? Dougsnotagrump, you will have to drive over to TurboTim's and find out what is up with him. Can you find a number and I'll call him? Affraid something has happened to these two. Later.

just found a great technique for CTT posting.

during 1 minute breaks from my weight lifting (same room as computer in basement), I see if I can make a post in less than 60 seconds between sets

motivates the lifting...2 seconds left...

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio has Blue Clear Skys with temp at 36 and going into the mid 60’s today. Maybe Spring has come back to us. What did Chief do wrong now.

I was at Sears Hardware last night and pick up some 9 volt rechargeable Rayovac Batteries for $3.46 each on sale. They only had 3 left and now there is none.

I never thought I would say this but I... want ... to .... go.... back.... to.... work.... This is blindingly obvious but 24/7 time with a 2 year old wears you out. 4 more days to go. Beautiful day dawning here - supposed to be in the 70s...

David, you go! I confine my lifting to 12 oz. curls. I wonder if there is something to the different construction of the traditional bi-level cars like on Metra and the MetroLink / Sounder ones. With so many grade crossings, Metra's always hitting a car.

Hello Everyone! Yes, our Governer is nuts alright. These politicians think of more ways to tax people than anything else. Morning folks! Pretty nice day in Prattville USA.

My son is doing fine after his football injury (broken bone in his hand). He can still participate in spring training, just no contact drills. He'll be back 100% when 2 a days start in June. He can hardly wait (HA!)

I was up in the attic of my new house yesterday. Lot's of space and plenty of headroom, although not finished and no HVAC. Still, there's the possibility of a simple floor layout (once I add a floor!) It would only be usable in spring and fall though. I'm not abandoning my plans for the shop layout, just considering other possibilities as well.

laz57 Our governor in Ohio is a giant retard! He has already increased EVERY tax that we had before......and created new taxes on things that were never taxed before. Now there is a sales tax on services and many rentals. I get to pay sales tax on my storage!!!! [:(!] I don't think that he has thought of it yet but maybe next he'll tax taxes! [xx(]

67 here today and they are calling for "summer like weather" for the weekend. I guess they couldn't think of a number.

Ok......it's 05 05 05. What are you going to do at 5:55 on 05 05 05.....or what did you do at the first 5:55 today? Unless you are in the military you still have a chance for the second 5:55. [:p] I was thinking about drinking a 555 but I don't know what that would be. Maybe a 7 7 and a half of another 7 7 and only drink 5/7ths of it?????[:p][;)][?]

Dr. John, you need both an attic and a shop layout... I'm getting into the hang of this Mr Mom thing again. I just have to run the younger ones around until they're really to fall asleep face-down in their supper. I just had to stop by Hobby Lobby again - trains are 50% off. The basic K-Line sets (with an MP15 and 5 cars) are about $104. A really nice K-Line set with a steamer, Railsounds and 3 car passenger set is $170. There was a Lionel one I couldn't see - something like Southwestern Freight - with a steamer - for about $135... tempting!

Having finished cutting the grass yesterday afternoon I had this afternoon, after getting home from work, for running trains. I spent a bit more than an hour breaking down a coal drag and building a mixed freight. I put a, probably not protypical, pair of GP's (7&9) on the lead of the CZ, they're my usual power for my coal trains, and a, again not too common, Hudson on the front of my freight. All my switching was done with my 0-8-0 and minimal help from the giant hand running the show.

Tomorrow afternoon off to the doctor's for a stress test, its been a few years since the last one which resulted in an angiogram due to an abnormal heart beat. Found everything was ok, just a rare bird with an abnormal heart beat. At least this time the doc knows to ignore the strange blips. Hope the knees and hips hold out.

Roger, watch out for those by-passes. [;)] I had NO heart problems and ended up with them. Would do it all over again. Finally raining here. Cool tomorrow.

The next governor of Ohio will be:

http://www.jerryspringertv.com/

They have already asked Jimmy and his sons to be part of the entertainment for the Inaugural Ball. I think they are still looking for a cross dressing half brother with sixteen toes to a three eyed women train engineer from a regional railroad that runs backwards to fill the entertainment billing. Behave boys or Dr. John will have us in behavial class. [;)] Dr, John, think about insulation overhead [easy to staple], electric space heater for winter and a big exhaust fan for summer. Started to do that at my house. Cape Cod with steep roof. Plenty of room. Opted to make it storage so I could use spare bedroom and walkin closet off of that room. Good night and God bless all.
