Hey...wooozat guy?  Why its LAZ!!!  Welcome back buddy.  And you too Dennis.  Geez getting to be like ol' times here...wow!!!  Neat stuff..

A little breezy & partly cloudy, suffering the 70F temps today.  Not much happening today, work is a drag.  Kids off from school tomorrow until next Monday, so I can sleep a little longer in the AM.

And if you all can all say a little "Hail Mary" for my Uncle, taking a turn for the worst this week, so I may have to run South to Vero Beach either this Saturday or next.  Thanks boys & girls, you're all like family here.  Hopefully there will be a few more years left in him...

Still haven't played with my TMCC yet, may be Sunday at this point.  Pretty busy 'cause o' da jobski..

OK Ramblin' over, Talk at ya later!

Cool [8D] Model RR has a good article on how to setup a lighting system using red and orange Chirstmas bulbs to simulate a sunset. Also an article on a On2 1/2 layout also known as On30.

Anyone else see the add on the back of CTT for Williams by Bachmann those F units sure look nice may just change my mind about SF the blue and silver and Yellow and silver look great.

Pennsylvania will be sporting rain the next day with a cool but sunny, (I hope), wknd.  I hope I see some trains go by as I travel alongside, go under and around and under again the N.E. corridor on my way to work. For the early morning ride I am often treated with a view of a Jersey commuter double decker leaving the sleepy yard in Pa. for the mornign Jersey runsSmile [:)] I'm not dizzy.

Hi guys!  Well, training went great today, we are really getting a lot done and I think it is sinking in so far.  Had a little accident last night and a folding chair fell off a peg on the wall in the garage and landed on my truck hood Sad [:(]  There is a little paint damage, but I think I can touch it up.  In other bad news, got a little crack in my windshield from a rock on the highway - have to get that fixed.  And, since things go in 3's, one of the kids came home with what I think is head lice Sad [:(]  Wife will take them to the doc tomorrow to verify and get some shampoo or something.  Great.  I can't help it, I'm just itching all over now!  YUCK!  Can dogs get this from humans?  Wonder if we should take Chewy to the vet too?

Good luck on your surgery, John - guess I missed that older post?

Hi Philaknight, I was just wondering where you got to?  How has your promotion worked out?

Sir James, you can just leave the banilla out on the porch and I'll sit out there if you want?  I'll occasionally ring a little bell and cry out "Unclean" if you want.  Sad [:(]

PS: Good news on the test, RT - I am still praying for your job!  Also, Prayers for your Uncle, Rich.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Its suppose to be 40 by afternoon. No trains ran here today but I did fuss with them a bit. Other than that no big news, Brutus you can come in but you will have to shave,LOL..

Snow?  Snow?  We were in shirt sleves today and tonight.  80's tomorrow.  Goign to drop to 50's for high but rebound.  Garden is limed and disked.  Ready for rows and beds.  Lets see.  Kurt and Sir J can't see their gardens. Shock [:O]  They are under SNOOOOOOW.

No trains today but got a lot accomplished.  Did avoid a TV interview.  Called twice and I told them it was my day off.  The guy that had pardked his 33 foot boat in Raleigh's waterline construction zone moved it before our PD arrested him.  Think my talking to his son yesterday PM got him to move it without incident.  Did spend 2 hours at Town Hall.

Tied.  Early breakfast in Raleigh for Wake Education Partnership.  Another Time Warner thing.  Broke the bank.  Paid wife's property taxes on new 4 Runner.  Could have bought a new command control engine at retail and still had a little extra.  Wow!!!

Off to bed.  God bless.

Morning!

Only about an inch of snow.

Brutus...(itch, itch)  That lice thing is serious.  My sister had it when we were kids.  A few hours of washing, and someone needs to sit with her and pick all those little guys out...one by one.  All the stuffed animals go into the dryer for a good heating up.

Speaking about little white things...How 'bout grits for breakfast!

Good Morning:

The weather was awful yesterday, it snowed.  Not very springlike. Angry [:(!]  Hopefully today will be better.  Work will be tough today.  I will have to do something I have never had to do in the past and I am not looking forward to it.  Sad [:(]  I will let everyone know how it goes later today.

Marty:  I have been waiting for my GP7s as well.  I ordered them from my LHS on 3/10.  I am getting a little anxious.

Jack:  That is exactly what my surgeon told me.  Since it is up to my body to create the scar tissue on the disk to prevent a reherniation, my surgeon said I will have to be extremely careful for several weeks after the procedure.  Since I have no desire to experience this again, I will do exactly as he says.  Thanks for the support.  BTW, my wife, a former farm girl and a corporate attorney, can deal with a balky lawn mower.  Wink [;)]

Rich:  I am sorry to hear about your uncle.  I hope his fortunes change for the better.  He will be in my thoughts.

Brutus:  Thanks for the kind words.  I can't wait to get it done.  I am sorry to hear about your kid.  As Kurt pointed out, lice is no routine issue.  Good luck in getting rid of the little pests.

Chief:  You have to pay property taxes on a vehicle?  To a Nawthener, that seems quite odd.

Regards,

John

Morning all!  Rich, prayers for your uncle.  Good book says to pray constantly, so I'll just add him in with the rest.  It is good to be back.  I hope the environment stays civil or the goup will continue to dwindle.

Heard on the morning radio that we are under a yankee invasion here.  The census has found that more folks are moving to the south than anywhere else.  Most are from northern climates.  Texas was the big winner with several cities in the top ten.  Atlanta was #2 on the list.

Chief, they have to keep the taxes on new vehicles high due to all the elaborate package plans they provide for mayors and such.  So, how's your new mansion?  Actually, you should have done a mayoral appointment and made Pam part of your counsel...then given here a new vehicle from city.....Oh, that only works in DC., never mind.

Hope everyone has a blessed day,

Dennis

Dennis, the way Atlanta is it probably should be considered a yankee settlement infringing on the south.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 40 degrees. Going up to 49 today with more rain on the way. Ground is soggy again.

Today is a busy day. I have some errands to run and the usual chores around the house. Got some work done yesterday on the layout. Ran trains for over an hour. Nice afternoon.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Mornin' Fellas.

Boy did I have an interesting stop at the LHS yesterday. Seems there is lots happening in Mt Airy regarding train history. Mt Airy used to be along the B&O Mainline and there is a movement to get something up and running to commemorate that fact. There is one fella that has an old B&O Caboose that he wants to donate, his stipulation - it be restored and put on display. The Mt Airy Cold Storage is now defunct (sorry Fife), the foundation can still be seen, and the two spur siding still exists. I have some ideas cooking now... Have to look into some stuff and run it by some friends...

Picked up one more switch, some needed track, and a very large bridge... hope to get quite a bit of construction done this weekend as my professor has decided to not have any work due this week. Will be nice to relax for a weekend.

---
Laz nice to see that smiling avatar again! Incursion into PA halted for the time being. Thumbs Up [tup] Can't wait to see the layout modifications and pics of that Niagra.

---
Jack - no work completed on the light. Now that the days are getting longer Susieq has seemed to have forgotten about that project. Actually, I have won a 2 month reprieve on it as she wants me to concentrate on school and understands that my destressor is the layout. She's a keeper... but I feer what the summer has instore for me... Whistling [:-^]

---
Seems that Chief isn't getting much sleep these days. Up at 6:30am to go to breakfast... I swear the only thing he does is go to meetings and eat... Dinner [dinner]

---
RT - Good luck with the job hunting. Sounds like it is going in the right dirrection.

---
Greg - still praying for you.

---
Rich - still playing with your TMCC? Whistling [:-^] Said some kind words to THE Man for your uncle.

---
Dennis - Good to see you hangin' in these parts again. Now we need to lure Dr. John back into the fray.

---
Brutus - I don't think Lice will bother Chewey, call your Vet to confirm. Always best to be safe than sorry.

---
Kurt and Sir James - More Snow???? What did the state of Michigan do???? Oh yeah... UofM hired Rich Rodriguez as Head Football Coach... good luck with the weather for the next Millenium! Laugh [(-D]

---
Buckeye - How's that railyard project coming?

---
DougM - What happened with the van repairs?

---
Roy - $usieq headed to the Coach Outlet in Lancaster a month ago and dropped a Lionel Legacy GP-30 $300 on a purse and wallet... I have to say I was proud of her for FINALLY buying something for herself. She's been spoiling me as of late, so she deserves a break (purse) I guess.

---
Fife - Last and certainly least. Big Smile [:D] How did construction fair the other day?

I think I covered everyone... except out brethern across the pond. Hope they are fairing well too.

Sounds like you might be scheming on having a caboose in your front or back yards?  Could come in handy when you get into the dog house with SUZIE?Wink [;)]

MORNING ALL

Kurt may not have got much snow but we have at least four inchs on everything but the pavement. Which only has a little, warm enough to melt as it fell. Det. now has reached its 4th snowest winter season and numbers 3 & 2 are only inches away. 79 so far 37 is the average. We have bright sun this morning so snow won't last long. I won't bore you this morning so I will just say enjoy your weekend and stay safe.....S.J.

As cool as that would be, I have to admit that isn't the plan. They want to restore it and display it in town. They question is where, and why would people come to just see a Caboose, B&O Memorabilia Museum and a train store. There has to be more, and the more is what I'm contemplating. Wink [;)] Have some long time dreams that could very easily be incorporated into some train themed attraction, the problem is there has to be a bit more of a catch, something to lure people off the highway (that is less than a mile from town)... this has been the problem facing everyone in the past. The LHS has a building that sits right beside the two track siding, but it needs a lot of exterior work as it is a fixed up warehouse. The Cold Storage building is gone, but the large concrete foundation and slab are still present. No one seems to know what the owner's intent is for it. This would be prime realestate for a train related attraction... that is what the LHS owner and a developer have been trying to come up with... just need some real solid brain storming sessions, some financial backing or sponsorship, and some hard work to see it all to fruition. When I left there last night I felt more invigorated than I have in a long time. The creative juices are flowing and the mind is working non-stop trying to come up with something.

Morning all. Sounds interesting, Brent. Picked up van last night. They were very pleased with themselves for saving me $700 on a part - it was a very expensive fix for brakes, timing belts and fixing leaks. Hope it lasts. I will never again agree to a complimentary service inspection. LOL. Took my middle boy to work with me today. Not sure what we'll do yet; maybe go to the Apple store and have a nice lunch.  I'm itchy all of a sudden.

Mornin' boys.  Late start today.  Overcast & 59 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Looks like T-storms are moving across West Virginia.  Long night at work ahead of me.

88 - It's always fun to develop a project (especially one close to your hobby), but I think that Sykesville (really close to your east) and Ellicott City have the railroad interest of things all tied up.  In short, they have the better locations and sites.  What would be cool, is getting some type of company or small industry, that could use those railroad spurs, to call Mt Airy home.

Also, I'll put a "progress" photo or two on SPF.

BTW, what's making those sugar granules move around...Dead [xx(]

Fife - From what I could gather, they aren't trying to compete with Sykesville or Ellicott City, but compliment what they have. Kind of a 'trail of railroad history' kind of thing. I can't say much as I don't have all the details, but from what I gather they have some plans but they are in their infancy and are lacking in fundage to get moving. There have been a number of donations offered (equipment and time) but no realestate or money (two biggies). From the sounds of it, they need someone or a group that has the know how and the wherewithall to get it moving and see it through.

Afternoon!

Sir James:  I hear ya!  I saw the neighbor across the street shovelled a few inches, so I got out the snowblower...DOH!  Now all of it's gone.

Chief:  Thinking of you today...Preschool storytime at the Library...no, that's not the reason...I did see some videos for Carter!  All About John Deere for Kids DVD's...I saw parts 1-4.

Going to meet with the Motor City O-Gauge Railers (MC-OGR) tomorrow afternoon at a member's house.  I guess he can run 6-trains at once on his layout...

Cloudy and cool here today - low 50's tonight - some sprinkles earlier today and some scattered showers predicted for the rest of the weekend due to the front heading to the East.

Got the modular layout up and running for the Thomas the Tank event in Grapevine Texas last night and then we went across the street to a bar/restaurant for a couple of cold beverages and a snack.

Brent - Caboose = Guest House

Hope everyone has a nice evening!
