GOOD MORNING
Dennis I agree with DonB, no apology necessary. This is an open forum with lots of topics written here. Folks should be able to speak their mind and have an opinion, whether you like or dislike, a person should be able to speak his mind. If thats not acceptable one should move on.
We have overcast and 60s at the moment, and I think its going to hang around 70ish. Birthday party today for two oldest grandsons,16 & 13. I'm looking forward to some good eating, we go a little farther than just cake and ice cream, but I save room for that too.
I plan a little train time this morning, and thats it for now. enjoy your sat.,,,,S.J.

Mornin' All.
What a great morning, nothin but blue skies and sunshine. Rainy season is officially over, what little there is, so that means Fire Season started the first of May. Got a feeling that it will be a bad one.
Had a great run yesterday at the museum, posted the review of the GP15 as an update. Met a very nice couple out here from Baltimore, the wife was here on business so after that was finished they hit the RR museum. Gave the hubby a tour of the layout and helped with lots of questions about power supplies, DCS and TMCC. When we got to those issues I requested another member do that portion, I know just enuff to get me in trouble. Quite a few pre-school groups came thru, really have to keep your eyes peeled when they come thru enmasse.
Surprised the grandson yesterday when I got home. I had won an item on E-Bay and put it on the tracks, it is a Presidential Primary Campaign Car, it's really neat. You have these two clowns on this handcar pulling a car with popcorn and magic trick boxes on it. But the strangest coincedence is that one is dressed in blue and the other in pink, imagine that.
Buckeye, Hope there is more to the dress code than just a tie and black shoes.

Chuck, et. al.....If you ever find yourself attending my funeral and I am lying in the casket with a tie on, I ask you to cut it off of me. If God had wanted us to wear ties, Moses would have worn one when he did that major engineering project of parting the Red Sea.
Matching shoes????? I better start looking to see if I can find two that match. Will my steel toed Rocky Boots be okay to wear if I clean the mud off of them?

Well, case is finished...and so is the recital practice. I am waiting on the patient to be transfered and then I am outa here. Wasn't an especially long case, but I'm tired anyway, so I guess it is off to the house and wait till bride brings home the gang. Oh! pager just went off and it looks like SWMBO has suggested Cracker Barrel for lunch.
Hope everyone has a great day.....and thanks guys, I almost spit my soda all over this computer screen....I need one of those handcars!

If that should happen, before me, I will cut your tie off.
Oh, about the Rocky Boots.........You 'll have to buy laces.

Dennis, I think you inadvertently omitted one important group from your list above. What, no love for clowns?
But, in all seriousness, I'm sorry we had this little dust up. No hard feelings, I hope.
While I don't use an avatar, I have disclosed quite a bit of personal information in previous posts, such as: where I live (Alexandria, VA), where I work (U. S. Patent and Trademark Office), when I grew up (the fifties), number of kids (four), educational back ground (physicist), brand loyalty (lifelong Lionel fan).
I'd be more specific, but I don't want Buckeye stalking me.
I think I'm going to take Laz's advice and kick back. Hey Laz, you got any of Granny's possum stew left?
Have a good one.
Wow, the Holiday Inn had server problems this AM and no one could sign on to the internet. Don B tipped about all the "noise" on the forum. Dennis, no need to appologize. Coffee Pot is where we can "unload". Always been that way. I go on to say, as a Democrat elected official, I think they are clowns too. You do NOT want to know what I think of the other guy who is running [not talking about Nader]. Also, agree with Buckeye on persons that keep thier identy secret.
Keep missing Scott Smith. Did go by his favorite hobby shop. It is right up the street from Gander Mountain. Could not resist buying a scale NS box car. [Hello. I'm Frank and I am a trainoholic.] Store is full and parking all over the seeded field next to the store. Spending? No. Why? Economy so bad. Customers are talking about it.
Well, break is over. Back to the store. God bless all.
BTW: suppose to be raining but not. ?????

Hey guys, going to store for some supplies for a science project and then going to a birthday party - probably back later. Cloudy in St. Louis and feels like a storm is coming, but was supposed to be clear today?
Hey, I heard a good joke about Clowns once. These cannibals are eating a clown. One cannibal says to the other cannibal, "does this taste funny to you?"

Be careful Brent, if I get the job, I'm going to need your expertise to help us develop IT infrastructures in third world countries. Can I put you down for a year in Mongolia?
http://www.unites.org/html/projects/country/mongolia.htm
Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention, it is an unpaid, volunteer position.
Afternoon all. One of our professors is in Mongolia right now. Sounds like a depressing place. Today is a cool, grey 'inside' day with storms rolling in and out - seeing lots of rainbows though. Last night, took the middle boy to his now-favorite coffee bar to play guitar - then tried to find someplace to eat with the bride and our youngest. Someplace where I could wear my Sox cap. So we mistakenly walk into what looks like a pizza joint - except the cheapest thing on the menu was a tiny plate of pasta for $17. LOL. The youngest pronounced it 'boring.' to Lucas!Spent a great morning in a class on mentoring at church. The daughter is continuing her prom weekend. I made it home early yesterday to see her off. Now to run some trains.Vote Jon in '08

Chief.....Obviously, you are not the salesman we thought you were. Don't you still grab them at the front door and do the hard sales pitch? I remember when you sold chargers in WV. People without boats bought them by the dozen to get you off their backs.
I don't think I see a future for you in electronic sales if this continues. Have you thought about giving politics a try?
GOOD EVENING,
A strange sky tonite, one of those real dark clouds over there, clear here , gray clouds that way, you've seen em. I did some train running earlier today, then went to the gr/kids party but I think old has set in, there were five kids between ages 3 to 7 plus the two teens and the adults, the noise yikes, they were not bad, just loud. It has to be me. I have one of those volt/amp meters for a PW ZW and the battery was too low to shut down, so I just took it off, sounds simple enough until you think about all the wires you have to keep track of until it's off, and then reattach everything the way it was. I would have to say it was one of my boo boo purchases, a good idea but poor design. Enough for now, guys I'm full but we have lots of ice cream and chips and cookies, just come in and help yourself.,,,,S.J.
cnw1995 wrote:Where are the keys to the Tardis? I'm going to swing by and pick up anyone ready to go to sir james. I got warm chocolate chip cookies.
I'm in Doug! I think the Doctor has the key...'What Doctor?' you say? No, Who's the Doctor.
Wiring and soldering today...Don, I can empathize...All this wiring is monotonous, and I'm still doing the control panel.
Every time I think of a clown, I think of the clown from Stephen King's IT.

Not me going that far Nawth this early in the year. TOO COLD.
Good night all. Sleep tight.
Good evening all,
We have a saying in Indiana, "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes, it will change." Today, it literally did that. I am doing my outdoor track work at the YMCA, sun shining. A few clouds roll in, a few sprinkles, no big deal. A tenth of a mile from the car, a gulley washer hits. I take shelter under a tree (no lightning) and it starts to let up. I make a dash for the car and it hits again. I drive home soaking wet and a half hour later, the sun is shining. Go figure.
Me: Who's pitching today
Doug: Tomorrow.
Last night my wife and I went to Chili's and split one of their mini-burger platters. That was both filling and a good deal. We watched "Moonlight" and "Numb3rs" and then some bug she picked up from school bit her. She is doing better today. Did housework and picked up more sticks in the yard. Watched the "Lost" tape from Thursday. Went to church tonight because First Communion is tomorrow at our regular Mass. One of the advantages of being Catholic :-)
Forgot to mention "crisis" with oldest daughter. Her principal called her to tell the musical she wanted to do for next fall was being canceled. Long story (too long for her), but I had to spend some time Friday calming her down. She had wanted me to help her direct it, but that is on the shelf for now. Perhaps another year.
Got an e-mail from my Norwegian soccer friend :-) Always good to hear from her.
I had the usual fare on the dining car this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
I don't have the key, I think Sir James has it? I do have my trusty sonic screwdriver that should get us in! Full of birthday cake, but a little fellowship will go a long way.
Finally got home - no trains all day. Supposed to go to see Iron Man tomorrow - it looks good!
Ate at the Pasta House tonight - some kind of rustic chicken with noodles. Too much noodles, not enough chicken. Wife ordered a filet and they brought a rib eye??? She ate it, figuring the kitchen was out of filets. Well, after we left she figured out that they billed us for the more expensive steak! Hey, if they were out of filets and sold us one, they should match the price, I think. Oh well, too late now, we were long gone before I found out.
Sir James - What kind of a problem you having with the ZW meter attachment? I have 2 one on my PW ZW, and 1 on the new ZW. Just curious.
Had a good day, got lawns mowed, wife did some triming, worked on a wiring project on the patio. Installing a outlet on the patio roof to accomodate some accent wiring. Tapped into the porch light and ran conduit up and around to new receptacle box. Don't have it wired yet. Probably only take about 1.5 hour to finish. Brother from Sac. came over and we all went out for dinner, including Chris and gf. Had agreat time.
Tomorrow taking MIL & FIL to breakfast then to RailFest. May take wife to a movie or two, she's been talking about IronMan a lot! Then Chris is out seeing for the 2nd time tonight with gf, wife very jealous. (Had planned on watching race and working in train room, wiring up buildings and such, oh well.)
Need to go catch up on emails, have a great evening and tremendous day.
Don
Good morning all,
I assume most of you are in bed asleep. That's good. Me, I'm on nightshift. We have the work done and now monitoring equipment. Classes were real interesting today. The time went by fast.
I hope you all well. Enjoy services today.
May God bless
Jim
Good Morning Y'all! got called in by a nurse for a minor issue with a patient we will be operating on in a few hours. She could have handled it if she had used a little sense...well, never mind. This particular nurse has been the cause of a lot of phone calls. I'm just glad she only gets the patients pre surgery as opposed to post.'
Anyway, had wanted to do some serious layout work this weekend, but alas, I am here and will be so for the next while. I was to be on camera duty at church today, but called for someone else....I may make the evening service and be able to help there.
Got a flyer with information on the movie with some potential release dates, etc. Looks like September. I think the premier will be in August. I feel like a little kid waiting on Christmas morning. If you are so inclined, contact your local theater to ask for them to show "Fireproof" as it will help in the amount of opening theaters. I would do this around August, once the publicity starts. Hey, after all it does have a train scene! I will have to check the close up of the cab to see if I can be seen in it....was a lot of fun!
Hope everyone has a blessed week ahead. Some more serious weather is being called for in the middle part of the country..I pray it is not as bad as the last storms.
God Bless,
Doug, looks like you've found one of Mr O.V.S. Bullieds 'Spam Cans' for the Southern Railway Co.

John, I couldn't agree with you more. I have admired and desired to get one of the British O gauge models for some time. I will have to wait for awhile. I picked up the Lionel "Hogwarts" set as a temporary appeasement, but it is nowhere near the detail and glamour of the Ace model. I do want to have a few British style sets for when my mother comes to visit.

Morning all. Mike, go vote and vote right [who you want to vote for]. Sturg, stay awake but shift should be over now. Dennis, keep him alive. Getting ready for breakfast and then pack up room. Hit the road home right after 12. Heard guy on NPR talking about the horse breading problems and bone/joint failures. Seems they have been bred in. Strong legs and fast speed but poor bones/joints. He was right. He says all horses running have one horse's "blood" in them. He is the reason for the this bad genes.
Clintons, welcome to NC. Seems all of you are going to be here for a few days.
Have a great day and God bless.
