Evening guys!  Well, I did get some work done.  Burned a nice size pile of brush and small pine trees.  Then I stained 1200 roof shingles for the doll house.  Also did some work on the layout, but not nearly what I had hoped.

Got a delivery yesterday, another 6419 DL&W work caboose.  I have two already and one crane.  Guess it is time to find two more cranes to go with these.  Bride is loving itBlack Eye  Was going to buy one of those Georgia Southern Florida box cars that they have been advertising.  But if I did, by the time I got it, it'd be $80. Just too steep for a single car.  I will decorate another car in the same scheme.

I would have bid for more in that great auction that they have going on up in Roseyville, but I hate that the procedes are going to that Rascal Sherman's place.   I mean, anything but W.T. Sherman.  Oh well, if I win, I will have some track cleaner.  As for the NS stuff, you guys can always make a great train wreck diorama!

1200 Shingles ?!?!? Uhm, they must not be consistent with building code specification

I was wondering about that myself,  I'm surprised their isn't a provision for TCA

Laz - Good shooting, Tex!  Shy

Boys, the Tardis is ready early tonight.  Went out for a belated steak dinner with the family, then stopped at a light on the way home and a guy rear-ended my little Colorado Sad  He bent the bumber down a little.  I'll get it checked out Monday while we are out of town for a funeral.  Everyone was okay, which is a blessing.  I think Doug Murphy and I are in a contest for worst week Laugh

Great hockey game tonight, we won, beating the Flames, but I have missed a great deal of the auction.

Speaking of the auction, I'm really confused.  Confused  I thought Pam's middle name was Lucy.  When the Chief arrives home from a battery charging trip he always yells out, "Lucy I'm home!!"

Morning all. Grey, cool, rainy here - nice to be indoors watching the leaves pile up. Would be great hunting weather, Laz. Brutus, 'Worst Week Ever' sounds like a reality show - let's pitch it to Fox.  After hemming and hawing, I pretty much left everything as is with the fridge - dried the floor best I could, keep the water shut off, but didn't cut off the piping. Ripping up the kitchen floor is too much.  My two-handed dishwashers are doing great. I may never replace the machine. LOL. Thanks for the visit with the Tardis, gents. Don, I thought the ride was bumpy the other night because of whatever led to that empty pint of JD we found when cleaning up.Wink

GOOD MORNING ALL

We have Chicagos weather, low 40s today if we are lucky. No Lions game on TV as they can't get a sellout. No suprise there, they can't get a team together either. I'm not sure about today yet,, maybe I should wait till my wife gets home from church. Then she can tell me what I want to do today. Everyone have a safe day...S.J.

Full of pancakes and recovered from the ride last night, glad we stopped at Doug's first, Kurt.  Sir James, I don't know how long that duct tape will last, but that was a good idea Wink

It's 36 degrees here in St. Louis and just chilling out.  I guess I'll go play in the basement in a little while, then play some video games with my son, and then we're going to my folks' house for dinner.  That should about do it!

Have you guys had much luck using one of those lawnmower sized leaf collectors?  They are usually around $400 or so.  They claim to be able to chop up to a 1.5" diameter branch, and compost leaves to a 8:1 ratio.  We usually have some 30 bags of uncomposed leaves this time of year.  All of the neighbors do...Reviews show that most people are happy with it, but that the collection bag breaks and is expensive to replace.  Anyone here have good luck with one?

Have a nice Sunday,
Wes

Mornin' boys. Mornin' English.  Blue skies, breezy, and 55 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  And yes I survived the harrowing ordeal of wifey's first driving lesson.  Actually, she spent over an hour getting the feel for the car on the High School parking lot.  She decided she wanted to practice aisle parking...good thing there were no other cars around...or witnesses.  She blamed the car.

Bakeer - Can't speek for the everyone, but if you want in I'll ship you mine after it gets back home.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold and cloudy 40 degrees. Going up to only 48 today with gloomy skies.

Today, I am feeling good. Getting around better. Not much else new.

Nascar race today. Only one more left, after this one.

Dining car was here for breakfast. Then it left for "Points West".

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good Morning from overcast and cool Southern Ohio

It has been a busy weekend.  I was in Columbus Friday and Saturday for the last diaconal formation before ordination the 29th.  We over the ceremony, where to stand where to kneel, when to move where.  I’ve not had to do so much movement memorizing since football plays.

Chuck – Glad you are feeling better.

Fife – I remember taking the kids driving, it was a real experience!  The girls liked me going with them better than their mom, I hid my fear better they said.

Wes – a friend of mine has one and he likes it a lot.  It’s a lot of money though.  Looked in renting one?

Jim F – Too bad about the truck.  Hopefully it did not get into the frame

Laz – What do you use on the birds?  Do you use a dog?

Grandkids are coming up for supper, hopefully we will get some train time in

May God bless

Jim

Good afternoon guys.  Watching the Fort Benning Sniper Challenge on Military Channel.  These guys all deserve our respect.  A few events were won by the Irish Team.

Had a great service this morning.  I was on the light board, which was a good thing as my neck and head are hurting after staining all those roof shingles for the doll house.  If I was on camera, I don't think I could have taken it.  Then, we brought one of the pastors and his family out for Mexican food.  Was a very nice time.  We discussed the next movie project.  I don't think we will be using a train, but you never know.

Well, I start call in the morning.  Down side of what we do.  Looking forward to checking out SPF.  Also want to check in on the auction...Hope Lucy doesn't get in too much trouble over this one.  BTW, US Army Marksmanship Unit just won the sniper challenge.  Glad they are on our side.

HOpe everyone has a blessed week ahead.

Buckeye, I think Lucy should be considered for membership in OTTS, for everything she has done.  She certainly is an exceptional breed.

A Road King of course.  Big Smile

Good day at Church this am.  Almost a full band for the youth group, sans Bass.  Bro' Joe was in town from Texas.  Illusionist.  Great message, and very nice family.  He really connected with the kids.

Rain here...Lions dropped another one.  Watched Vikes win a big one.  Pretty lazy day.  Fire in the fireplace.

OK Doug...I think this stuff is contageous.  Our Dishwasher took a dump this week.  Trouble shooting guide says replace the console?  Parts place I ordered seal from doesn't know what I'm looking for....Bride says she likes spending time together washing/drying dishes, but is constantly asking when this will be fixed.  Condensation found its way into the circuit board.

Bride has me rubbing her shoulders from yesterday's leaf collecting.

Fife, I tried to teach the wife once, after the first and last she got one of the neighbor's wife to be her instructor. As far as the daughter, we won't even begin to talk about that. Needless to say she ended up going to driver's ed while in highschool. Shock

HI GYZ,

Well did another day o winterization here.  Sucked up leaves with tractor.  Did mine and two other neighbors all told about 30 bags.  Then cleaned turtle tank, laundry, then emptied the two outside water hoses.  Now time for pitza.  Wife did the Harrisburg Marathone today, a relay with 3 of her friends.  She had the first leg only a 6.5 miler.

WES, I use a 2500 series Cub Cadet with the 3 bag system on the back.  Sucks em up real good.

STUR- FISH,  JIM I use a Winchester Model 12 in 16 gauge for birds.  I like this gauge and doesn't walup me as bad as the 12 gauges.  I'd love to get a 20 gauge side by side that Ruger makes but big bucks.  Its their gold series.

Just home from a wonderful 3 day weekend with the whole family in northern IA at oldest sons home in Cedar Falls,  sadly there was no time to even hit my favorite train store Sad  It was really a lousy afternoon driving up there on Friday---wind, rain, snow, cold and lots of traffic, yuck.  Great time with everyone, especially the granddaughter, next time we will all be together will be in Las Vegas for youngest son's 30th birthday bash, YES!!

A most excellent football game yesterday with the Iowa Hawkeye's being Nittany Lion Tamers, perfect ending Thumbs Up

Went to the touring Broadway Show last night "Movin' Out"--all Billy Joel music with fantastic choreographed music in a Broadway setting.  It is impossible to beat live theatre, nothing like it.  Makes Dancing With The Stars look like pre school.  It's a good thing we don't live in New York, we would be permanently broke from going to shows.

Stay well and have a good week.

Celebrated Baby Buckeye's Birthday tonight at one of our favorite local restaurants.  Baby Buckeye tells me that I'm going to be a grandparent in June.   Shock

Busy week at work. We will be doing an interview this Friday.   The project involves an at grade rail crossing for the CSX.  Fairly straightforward.

Just purchased something called GLUE DOTS to use to keep the plasticville people from falling off the station platforms and getting hit by the train.

Had a nice email from Lucy. Confused   She asked me to space out the photos of the Chief's toys or she will not get premium prices.

Good evening all,

It was cold and cloudy in SE Indiana so naturally I went out did leaves today.  Congrats Buckeye on the grandchild!  Is this your first?  Grandkids are neat.  You spoil them and send them home.  So much easier than kids.  Lucas' best friend stopped by for a little while this afternoon.  It was good to see him.  The "saucy wench" in the kitchen made fresh bran muffins this morning on the dining car for breakfast.  They are being sent both to "Points East" for the Ohiozo boys and "Points West West" to be loaded on the Tardis.  After the last trip, some of the passengers had some upset digestive systems and this'll straighten them out, one way or the other :-). Speaking of plumbing, we had somebody roto-rooter our system today.  They got rid of tree roots that were slowing things down.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Back from the woods.  Spent time looking at trees and thinking about how to make them for the layout.  Had a solid dusting of snow there when I woke up this morning.  Cold last night too, I had to get up and stoke the wood stove at 3am.

Planning to stop and see SJ on Tuesday night if he is up for it...

My 494 and is on and turning Brutus....you should be able to spot me a long ways off.

JIM,

I also have a Ithica Model 37 featherweight in 12 gauge, but prefer the Winchester mod 12 in the 16 gauge, like you said a little easier on them sholders.  I still have the shot gun my DAD gave me, its a Royal Arms side by side double barrel in 16 gauge.  Guess my DAD knew the 16 was better then the 12 on the account of feeling good the next day after shooting alot.  I might have to take that ol double out of the safe next week?

Laz - I still have the gun I learned to shoot with also.  A Savage 22 - 410 over under.  I striped it down and bead blasted the metal, re blued and refinished the stock about 20 years ago so it looks like new.  Neat gun.  I used it to teach my daughters to shoot.  Having one shot at a time really made you focus.  Never shot very well as a kid, then as an adult a friend helped me discover I was left eye dominet.  What a difference it made

Good Evening

Goofed off today, had ideas about running trains but never got to it. Nothing planned for tomorrow either, got leaves all over the front yard again but I will wait till the end of the week and one more time, thats it.

Charlie Tuesday is fine with me. I think Brutus is doing a family thing so he could be late but he knows where the key is and how to find the banilla. I'm going to check on the auction now. Nite All,,,,S.J.
