Thanks for the good wishes guys!  I had a nice talk with Sir James this morning, then did a little (very little) cleaning around the layout, made sure everything was okay, and spent about 4 hours running my trains.  I ran the new A5 switcher last and the kids helped me when they got home from school - runs great!  This is my first full TMCC locomotive and it was very fun.  No pile-ups!  Wink

Congrats, Mitch!

Mike, you take the keys, lots of stops tonight.  I've got some Sammies, Blue Moons, Old Mills, and no fruit in the beer (it bugs the bear)!  Also rootbeer, icecream (from RT's and Jim's houses) and some zuchini bread too Laugh  JD for DB and we sanded the pole for his neighbor - no more splinters Wink

Looks great jim and I see it has the correct road name on the side of it. Whistling I like the looks of it next to your 222 steam engine. nice set to have. I know you'll enjoy them.

evening all well last night and tonight I won 2 PA. Boxcars to go behind my 671RR and my 681 ( one each) and I'll split up my 6 passengercars so I have 2 Passenger trains on my shelf soon to look at. got a good deal got the one last night for $6.50 and the one tonight for $10.50 plus combind shipping on the 2 so I'll probally still be about $28.00 for the 2 but thats not bad. Might have to put some weight in them if I ever use them as I think the 3 passenger cars would be a little much for them to pull behind them.  I would want engine , boxcar, and then the 3 passenger cars.

Good Evening All

Party nite got to have fun on Brutus's birthday. Glad to see he finally got to run his new engine. they do run well for there size, a little young to be smoking already though. I enjoyed our phone chat this morning,  my wife was baking a chocolate something so she told him we would put a candle on it for him. Its good but to much chocolate. Then we went out for a very late lunch, I had coneys so I can enjoy them till bed time. No trains today but OGR arrived and I thumbed that and read part of the Williams Trains article. Banilla is waiting so off we go..S.J.

Good evening guys!

Finished up the case early afternoon, then to Home Depot to pick up some Lexan to make the control panels for the layout.  Also picked up 1000 foot of 12ga wire.  Got it for about what 200 ft. would cost at the electronics supply place.  I need to cut the lexan, what would be the best idea, circular saw, or jig saw?  Or, should I use the knife and snap it...it is the thick stuff, so not sure that would work.

Then, when I came home,  I was soon followed by Mr. Brown who delivered my FDNY Rescue 2 boxcar with the 9-1-1 memorial on it..  Very well done.  bride things I have gotten too many deliveries latelyWhistling  After my short elation from that, we headed to the Exchange club fair.  Lots of livestock to check out and then onto the high priced food and rides for the kids.  Of course, you can't leave without getting a 50cent toy for $4.00!  Hey Fife, I think I need to fill out a police report.  I been robbed!

Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.

My evaluation  Laugh Mischief

fifedog

So here's the standards:

A)  You have to be a poster in good standing.   Chief is out on this one.

B) You gotta have a layout.  Chief is marginal on this one.

C) Each participant will contribute one piece of rolling stock.  Chief will try to pawn off on us all that NS junk he owns.

D) On the first day of the month, participants will "route" the "intercahnge" car to the next closest participant.  Chief doesn't live close to anybody.

E) Participants will be asked to post one picture incorporating the interchange car on Sunday Photo Fun during that month.  I'm not going to travel to Roseyville every month to take a photo of the Chief's marginal plywood prarie layout and a broken NS car.

TGIF....Cold and wet, but done for another week.

Good evening/morning All...

Been busy here this evening, signed up for the Box Car Rotation, got a call fom the Chief, took the wife out for Dinner, and sent out a bunch of emails.

Buckeye, the Chief said he and Berg were going up to the Lake, so I don't think he saw your post.

Brutus, Thanks for remembering the JD, an occasional indulgence is good for the soul.  I did sneak out and turned the trains on, probably ran 12 to 14 feet, before a derailment.  (Didn't have the switches reset, and ran onto a siding with the wrong size cars.)

Welcome, aboard GEEWIZ !!  Glad you joined us.

(BTW, I think the neighbor sold the pole, things aren't quite as active as they were.

Also,  One of the President Elects, Financial advisory staff member is the Mayor of LA, boy are we in trouble NOW.  This guy doesn't understand the difference between Credits and Debits.  He has adopted a self proclaimd title of the "Pothole King".  He initiated a program of repairing 1,000,000 potholes.  A local radio station challenged the credibility of the number, and have made a fool of him.  Many, many other snafus are also his.

Saw a really cool family interest story on the news, A school in Ohio, has put together a Blind Marching Band!!  With a blind Director.  They are going to be in the Rose Bowl Parade in 2010.  The kids were marvelous !!!

Till tomrrow have a great morning!

Good Saturday Morning everyone!  Watching a dvr showing of Trains and Locomotives.  This is the one on RFD-TV.  This particular episode is on the 3751 Santa Fe Northern.  Neat program.  Had one of those "it's great to be  a dad" mornings.  We were in bed and the dog was wanting attention.  He finally jumped up in between my bride and I...with his head on a pillow.  He was soon followed by my daughter, then son all in the bed!  After discussing the days events, we all got up and had some breakfast.

Plan today is to get out and put up the tree.  Also, I will be working on the layout and dollhouse projects.  I hope to get some wiring done and build a control panel.  Nothing else planned, so it should be a good day.  May burn some brush if the wind is low.

Hope Chief enjoys the lake house today.  Hey Chief, are you going to put a layout up there?

God Bless,

Dennis

Live from Ohio

It's Saturday Morning!!!

Good sources have told us that the Chief is heading to his palatial mansion at the Lake.  So to start the day off right,

Here we go!!

Man Heckling The Mayor

A seedy-looking man was sitting in the first row at a Roseyville town meeting, heckling Mayor Eagles as he delivered a lengthy speech.  (What other types of speeches does he give?)

Finally Mayor Eagles pointed to the heckler and said, "Will that gentleman who differs with me please stand up and tell the audience what he has ever done for the good of the city?"

"Well, Mayor Eagles," the man said in a firm voice. "I voted against you in the last election."

A Bus Load Of Politicians Crashes

A bus load of politicians were driving down a country road, when the bus ran off the road and crashed into a tree in an old farmer's field. The old farmer, after seeing what happened, went over to investigate. A few days later, the local sheriff came out looking for the missing politicos, saw the crashed bus, and asked the farmer where all the politicians had gone.

The farmer said, "I buried 'em all... out back."

The sheriff then asked, "Were they ALL dead?"

The old farmer replied, "Well, some of them said they weren't, but you know how them politicians lie."

 Lock up the Livestock

Mayor Chief Eagles was campaigning in a rural area of Roseyville.

Outside a ramshackle house, he saw a young man milking a cow in the front yard. He approached the man, ready to make his pitch for a vote.

Just as he was getting started, an old man called from

inside the house. "Luke, get in the house. And who is that

guy you're talking to?"

"Says he's the Mayor of Roseyville, Pop," Luke said.

"In that case, you'd better bring the cow inside with you."

And so it goes.................

Morning all. Grey, cold and misting. Teens off to Rockford later for football playoff game. Here's the last thing one wants to hear at bedtime last night: "Dad, water is leaking from the basement ceiling right into the TV" .... I think the water line into the fridge has apparently been leaking and seeping underneath the parquet floor. So that makes the dishwasher, TV, floor and fridge to fix or replace... Doesn't this stuff always happen at the same time? LOL.

Mornin' boys.  Gloomy and 58 thus far in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Taking fifey's-wifey out for her first driving lesson.  Insert prayers here.  I think adjusting the seat close enough to the steering wheel without "obstructions" will be half the battle...Whistling

Getting some good response for the CPI (Coffee Pot Interchange).  Will post the list sometime tomorrow, as some folks (hey 88!!!! Zzz) haven't tuned in yet.

CSXect - Like I said, you don't need to plaster your whole layout, just get a small section "dolled-up" for SPF.  Theoretically, you'll have until 12/31 to get this done...think about it a little more.

 Good Afternoon All  -

Doug - ;Hope that leak just turns out to be an ice maker or something.  That could be a real pain!!

Hey, I saw that thread on the Roseyville Auction, that's the best darned auction I've ever seen, could get some real values, (don't know about the trains, probably mostly NS).  I'm going to have to check and see what I can do with that.

Since, I goofed and let the word out that Chief is out of town, and doesn't have any internet capability for the weekend, he said he would call and ask me for a report on how everyone is doing.  By the looks of things so far, I don't think I'll be answering my phone.

Need to go and get busy painting reindeer.  (Tardis ride was a little bumpy last night.)

Oh Yeah, Fife any additional thought about including a DVD or VCR tape in that package with the box car?

John Baker - any idea how we can handle the shipping/customs issues?  Samples maybe?

Hi Geewizzer, welcome!

Don, I thought Mike did a good job driving last night?

Worked 6 hours OT this morning.  Waiting for a kid's Dad to call me since it's my understanding his kid is going to come down today and apologize for shooting paint balls on my house.  I would have expected him to want to get it over with, personally.  We'll see.

The copper piping going into the back of the fridge for the water/ice must have a hole or kink between the floors. So I just shut off the valve from the main water pipe and am letting things dry. What a mess! The TV miraculously worked - it's about 24 years old - they don' make like that anymore.

Golly, there sure is some good stuff in that Roseyville auction - who is this Lucy? When I called to ask a question - all I heard was barking.

The leaves are falling in a big way here, maybe they will all be down by the time I start collecting them tomorrow.

Interesting football today, at the moment two of the unbeatens are trailing.  Hmmm.

Ohio State did win, I thought Northwestern might make it interesting, they did for a while, but not for long.

Doug, Oh Joy, my favorite pass time is doing plumbing, not.  Sad

Good evening all (it is dark here),

It was cool and cloudy in SE Indiana today with temps in the 40s.  It was a good day to go to a TCA meet.  Bought a MTH street light set.  Saw a 520 boxcab set and probably should have bought.  Went to Borders and Hobby Lobby but no luck there.  Wife and I went to see daughter's junior high musical last night, a version of "School House Rock".  It was good and they had a large crowd.  May run the Alaska set tonight.  Sorry about all plumbing issues, DougM.  Thanks for the compliment on the Tardis driving, Brutus.  It was a pleasure to do so on your birthday.  Still a little "tight" into the corners and "loose" coming out of them.  I'll get used to it, but I may have to adjust the stagger a little.  John Bakeer, are they celebrating Lewis Hamilton's F-1 title over there?  Fifedog, I will have to pass on the car exchange.  The only "layout" (and this is painted plywood) I have is standard gauge.  RT, my first SG set is like yours.  Once you get hooked on the big shiny stuff, it is hard to stop at one set.  I guess I could load the O-gauge cars on the gondola???  I had the usual fare on the dining car for breakfast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

GOOD EVENING

If I win the auction I plan to pay by check. Nasty day here started in the 50s and is now 38 and diving. It was overcast and gloomy except  for football. Buckeyes, Michigan and Michigan State all won. Poor Pa. lost by one. So no trains today, this morning I watched two of the grandsons race their pinewood cars. Their cars won some races but lost in the finals. So that was my day,now fresh coffee and see if anyone drops by....S.J.

Evening all!

Leaves today...Bride decided to run the blower.  Oy Vay.  Now she's complaining about being tiered and sore....I knew this would happen.

Went in today and set-up for the Youth Band.  Should be interesting in the am.

Fife:  With you back on the pot sounds like first crash course was a success.  Maybe this is a good time to introduce the Bride to Motorcycles?

Brutus:  I'm in for the Tardis ride!  Maybe you can buzz by here first, and we can get Doug's floor leak bandaged up.

Sure seems like a lot of activity going on, looking forward to the Tardis ride tonight.  Found out why the ride seemed so bumpy last night, the seat was broke.  (Wasn't Mike's fault!)

Got a late start on the painting, cleaned up back yard, cleaned out the evees.  Still have a good 3 or 4 more days to go with this painting.  The last part is very tedious, going slower than I thought it would.

Need to go back and check the auction out !
