Doug....Checked on airfares to Chicago. Not bad, not bad. We fly direct via Southwest into Midway. It takes about an hour. Mrs. Buckeye and I are talking. I like Chicago in the fall. Is the museum still good at that time of the year.
Rock....You don't know where Roger's Corners, Ohio is located? Chuck, Chief, Wes, and Greg will all confirm for you that Roger's Corners is a special place and if you have really read the forum for the last four years, you know exactly where it is located. Are you sure you have been in Ohio?

Victory again at County Commissioners meeting.
Wake County Public Schools wanted to get approval to buy a large high school site adn land bank the extra for a future elementary school. $63K per acre. Well, they said that they found rock when they did borings. Not unusual in Rolesville as the Rolesville Granite streaches from other counties to northern counties. Yes it is named Rolesville. Well a couple shows up today saying there is rock outcropings as large as their house. Schools lady said it was going to cost over 2M to remove rock. The sellers would not cut their price. No wonder, everyone but the CC knew there were outcropings. Got killed by 4 to 3 vote. School Board "suckup" turned red and chewed out her fellow Commissioners. Lady for School Board kept using my name and Rolesville's in vain. CC members kept looking at me and I was shaking head NO. When I left meeting, News and Observer reporter rode the elevator with me. He was questioning the endorsement. Told him I knew of the site but had not endorsed it and neither had the Town. I said lady from School Board "lies like a rug." We walked out of the court house and parted ways. He turned and said, "I like that, she lies like a rug." OH NO, it will be in the state's largest newspaper tomorrow morning.
Well, findly getting in the house [had dinner at 7:30 as meeting went on forever]. Everything fed [deer were waiting]. Now for popcorn and relax. BTW: shipped Legacy by UPS. Suppose to arrive Ohizo Wed.
Big news on RR headlines. Girl from Heartland [I think Jon refers to Iowa, Colorado, North Dokato and South Dakato as Heartland] playing for Russian Olympic Team. See, Can't trust those Heartlanders just like you can't Yankees.
Going ahead and saying good night and sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite.
PS: Rock, he will NOT show the picture of himself and I standing in front of the silo. Why? I am presenting him with a bag of GRITS.

Good evening everyone. Actually was not too bad today. Light schedule which makes the return a little easier to take. Checked out some resume's and took care of some paperwork. Was pleased to find that the guy who filled in for me did a good job and we may need to call on him again should we not have a replacement before my next venture. Speaking of my next venture, I got invited by Bubba Cathy to a private screening of the movie and some dinner. Nice folks....Chick Fil A is a class company run by a class guy.
Doug, Crystal Lake is on the list for towns that will have the movie opening weekend. I checked tonight, and NJ is still not on the list. Oh well, we shall see.
Actually got home tonight in time to do some wiring on the layout. Only made two runs, but had 6 year old son helping. I got to have him hold the wires while I soldered them. A real good teaching moment. (No, I didn't let him get near the hot solder gun or the wires while still hot). I explained that by helping my father out, that is how I learned how to do it. He is real interested.
Well, gotta get some sleep. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week. Chief, congrats on keeping the school board in check. Such short sighted people who don't have a clue should not hold positions of authority. Glad you were able to expose them.
God Bless,
Dennis

Sir James: I noticed quite a few things that don't seem to mesh. Either Lionel doesn't have final say in design and manufacturing, or this is another case of non communication between hands. My eye caught the Santa Fe unloading boxcar with handheld remote...doesn't look like it will work with a CAB-1 remote.
Edit: From what I have been reading Sanda Kahn owns K-Line.
Brutus: So you are going to YORK in the fall? I thought it was Central Park in fall...what a mess I confess...

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 60 degrees. Got some rain earlier. Suppose to have thunderstorms later and go up to 80.
Today is a busy day. I have a lot of paperwork to do for the month. One job I do not like. Then, there are the usual chores. After that, I will spend some quality time in the train room. I need to relax.
Yes, Guys, that is me in the picture at Roger's Corners. It does exist. Had a great time visiting Buckeye.
Dining car is here and is ready for breakfast. Cheerios.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
Good morning,
Didn't get half as much rain as the weather man said, well there is always later today!
My new computer is acting up so it looks like I will be taking it back to get fixed or get my money back! I get tired of new stuff not working!
Might not be able to buy the complete Williams set, as the guy I am buying it from can find only the three F-7 engines.

Hi GIZ,
Nice here today at 62 this morning. Did a nice 4 miles again today. Slept great last nite, nice breeze with windows opened. Today got to clean up all the form boards from MOMs. Then maybe either go to the rifle range or run trains or both. Depends on the heat and humidity if we get it?
BRUTUS, U DA MAN in DA TARDIS. I'll be ready tonite. BEACONs on.
B GOOD or B gone,

Morning all. Grey and cloudy from last eve's storms. Probably chased away the Tardis. No tornado sirens in our town and appreciated the rain. Last night tonight with class.
Buckeye, I'd recommend coming out before Oct. 5th. See their operating schedule at http://irm.org - there's some other operating museums in the area - the Fox Valley trolley line and East Troy lines. One can also just ride the South Shore to South Bend or Metra to Kenosha to ride a PCC car.Dennis, good news about the movie opening.

Oh well, you never know what the future will bring, maybe I'll win a lottery. Guess I should buy a ticket?
Jim....I am really disappointed in you, the thing about not being consulted. In my house, that would never be tolerated. I am always given 48 hours notice on the big stuff from the wife or find out what is in the pipeline from a third party, totally by accident.

Buckeye.....you forget, I am just an 8 month wonder on this Forum. When I first joined the Forum, I saw you were from Roger's Corners. I actually did a quick net search and a mapquest and got nothing. Since I lived east of Cleveland for a few years in school, had relatives in Solon and Twinnsburg, and had friends in Cinci, Columbus, and Mansfield, a part of Ohizo is in my blood.
I can only conclude from your comments and those of others on the Pot that Roger's Corners is like OZ without the yellow brick road.
How about a clue?
Straight from the horse's mouth 5/15/04, and still not much info........
Great question!! .................As many of you know I live in Central Ohio, the Buckeye State, near a crossroads that is named Roger's Corners. A small creek runs through Roger's Corners at an elevation of 936 feet. Buckeye Riveter............. OTTS Charter Member

Rock,
Of all of the towns and cities you posted you are familiar with in Ohio, Columbus is the closest to Roger's Corners. In fact, I think it was once a suburb of columbus...Buckeye can send you detailed directions if you visit. It's well worth the trip...

I want to know why Roger has more than one Corner.

Chief.....congratulations for standing firm and turning an uncomfortable spotlight on others (County Commissioners and School Board) for:
1.) their blind ignorance,
2.) their failure to do their homework,
3.) their knowingly trying to waste taxpayers' money,
4.) or "someone" has another interest or agenda that has not been discussed in an open forum.
While you can't stop the press from printing what you said about the school board lady (she deserved it), you might use this as an opportunity to indirectly pressure/leverage the landowner down in price by using that same press to emphasize the shortcomings of the parcel for all the public to see. The price may be dropping as I type this.
On a related note, how did so many Yanks and Heartlanders become your County Commisioners or get on your School Board?
Jack ( RockIsland52)....There is a very simple answer to the question regarding the Ever Famous Roger's Corners. You must use MapQuest Deluxe to locate it. It does not show up on the standard MapQuest.
To those I emailed it apears now its my putor at home that is the problem as i can get on here at work.
I guess all is well with me medicaly as they didn't seem to concern and there setting me up to have my Defibrillator checked but I will have to goto augusta, GA. for that.
Not to much else happening around here. Will talk to you all again later going to try and call Time Warner Cable tomorrow and see what they can do to talk me thru this problem as it has to be with my firewall or virus protection ( I called CTT customer service and that is what they came up with.)

Unfortunately, Roger doesn't have any corners anymore. The county took Roger's Corners apart and put in........
Roger's Roundabout
(The reason we don't post the Chief's photo at Roger's Corners is that I'm trying to be considerate to my fellow posters. We don't want anyone to have a bad day!! )
New computer at store where I bought it and I am letting the store fix it under warrenty. Windows kept closing out on me, I tried everything I could think of and called tech support. Guy at the store said it might be possible that Windows Vista wasn't installed properly at the factory where it was assembled.
Other problem I want to fix at the house is no light by the front door when I come in at night from work, woke up the wife as I stepped on a cat's tail, MEEEOOWW!! Bought combination switch/receptacle at Home Depot and will try to put a night light there by front door, already have outside light switch.
Philly, at least she wasn't waiting up for you with a rolling pin like Al Capp Hotter than H - E - Double Toothpicks in St. Louis! But, at least it's humid.
Cut a deal with my wife and I get to go fishing with my buddy in September! Can't wait to catch another crappy - that would be my average, one a year At least the last one was the smallest caught that day! This time, I'm buying the groceries - it's going to be steak, eggs, sausage, and all that other great stuff I try not to eat as much. Maybe some Old Mills too, or Sam Adams! Old Style? Hmmm - you guys are welcome to join me and I'll leave the key to the TARDIS in the Usual Place.
Laz, you are on for tonight and I've already got you on the screen. Have to open the communications channel and see what is up. Hmmm, I think I have a cooler full of Old Mills around here with your name on it Maybe we can hook up with Chief and dive bomb a certain corner of the map with grits bombs! Oh, wait, I don't think that would be a good idea. Those Ohizo guys might get revenge on us and we've seen that they are pretty clever!
Evening all. Well, School Board smiled at me today when I addressed them. Guy did NOT print, "She lies like a rug." Slept till 9 AM EDT [like I had died]. Then up and on the phone all morning findling HS land sites in Rolesville area [not Raleigh]. Picked garden [5 gallon bucket of cucumbers and 3 gallon bucket of tomatoes]. Then found out Wake County School Board met at 3 PM instead of 4. Rush to shower and etc. Then as soon as I got home, had to change from long sleeves, tie and coat to sport pants and golf shirt for a 5 to 7 [went on till 8:30] free hot dogs at PD. National thing with PD's for a meet the public and finger print kids for ID in case they are lost or kidnapped. Got home and fed birds, fish and deer. Humidity went sky high. CAme in from feeding [no work at all] and was soaked and sweat running in eyes. Now listening to wife tell Lucy to stop biting her. Funny, she does not bite me. [I know how to slap lightly but she knows NO from me]. Cart [Grandson] coming tomorrow for about 7 hours. Yes his Mom is so busy with her social schedule she has to rush back for a meeting. Too busy Friday to come to wedding of her cousin. Might get a piece of my mind again. Her Mom's 50 th birthday is Aug 20. I am working on a party [surprise] for her Mom. If she says she can't make it, that will be the straw.
Now to rest and drink Coke Zero and eat popcorn. Cooler now as in A/C. BTW:Rolesville tried to get me to do a meeting tomorrow and I said H--- NO!!!
Good night and sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite.
Jim F, B25 reving up. Bomb site is ready. Headed for Rogers Corner. Grits away.
GOOD EVENING ALL
Last nite Doug got the storms, now Brutus gets them. We need rain but I can pass on the storm part thank you.
My friend and I got together for breakfast and then off to the train store where he has his preorder for L vol.2 priced. Boy was it hard to stay away from that folder, esp. where the new Classic were listed. I did finally remember to take my RK Royal hudson and have them change the chuff rate for me. Of course they also showed me what else was on that DCS engine board. Hmm so far I have been satisfied with TMCC. I had a chance to compare the two trolleys and its easy to see the one with trolley poles has more detail. And somehow its not a trolley without a pole. But I ordered the K-Line CTC one anyway. Have a good tomorrow and stay dry.

Welcome to OHIO..........
Well I disabled my fire wall logged on and then re-enabled it and all seems fine now That was back at about 8:30 this evening and its now 10:40 and I have left the site and came back at least 1/2 dozen times and even closed browser and opened it again. So next test is shut down and try and see not sure if I'm that brave yet but guess it will be time soon
Well not to much happening tonight tomorrow will try to hook up TMCC and see if I can controll my conventional engines. Not that good electrical but it looks basicly straight forward might have to call LAZ lol would sy the chief but hes so busy these days you be lucky to get ahold of him in themiddle of the day .
The family and I checked out EnterTrainMent Junction on Monday. It was truly awesome. Over 2 miles of track. So many long span bridges, and trains popping out of tunnels everywhere. My son, Jack, couldn't get enough.
Here are a couple of videos. Google compresses them pretty hard.

It is a humid and cloudy 72 degrees. Going up to 82 today, with partly cloudy skies.
Today is the day that I drive up to Cambridge for groceries. Big thrill. Gas has gone down to $3.70 a gallon. For how long??? But, that's good for a start. No train time today. Maybe tomorrow.
Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Cheerios.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.
Good morning all,
Muggy in SE Indiana. Went to high school boys' soccer team practice last night. Very sad. Could be long season. Worked at home for 1.5 hours on work project. Not enough hours in day. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
