Good afternoon,

I have been extremely busy lately, work fixing things around the house and even a short trip to Islamorada FL. Replaced the track lighting in the kitchen, only real problem was hooking up the electric as the clown before me stripped the screws out and I couldn't take the screws out of the box so I improvised.

Looking forward to going to the Lake Worth FL train show in August. Also found another train show to go to in October in Deerfield Beach FL.

Looking at a Williams Pennsy passenger set, whole set for only $250.00, three F-7 diesel engines and six passenger cars. Similar to the Santa Fe El Capitan set except painted for Pennsy.

Hope to be on the forum a little more.

Philly, that's why I always leave more behind, because you never know what you will want to do later!  Greg, good job on that deck man!  Chief, good luck on the lake house, too!

A little cooler today, but that's after bad storms last night.  Need to mow the lawn, but still taking it easy, maybe tomorrow.  Laz Wink [;)]  TARDIS is stocked and loaded Laugh [(-D]

Watched Return with Honor at work today with my trainees, all about POWs in Vietnam.  Great movie - thanks Tom Hanks!

Doug, my kids both do that all the time.  Oh, it's bedtime?  Hey, I needed to have a dozen cupcakes for school tomorrow!  All my clothes are dirty, can you do laundry?  Etc!  Rotten kids!

Sir James - no trains today?

Good evening from sunny becoming overcast Southern Ohio,

Greg - nice deck.

Wes- nice deck

Laz- Yes the snow was refreshing but I can wait.  I know what you are saying about the heat and humidity!

Chief- The place sounds real nice.   Looking forward to some pictures!

Well, the expected showers never came.  I got the train room straightened up some, and then the clouds broke up.  I went back to painting the garage.  All of the addition is painted now as well as two sides of the original garage.  South side is all that is left and I will finish it tomorrow weather permitting.  Less than 250 sq ft so should not take long.  Only bad part is working around the bayberry bushes in front of the garage.  I will be pulling thorns tomorrow night!

I have a question.  I recently acquired a biplane with American Flyer graphics.  I am going to suspend it over the layout.  Any recommendations on how to secure it to the ceiling with minimal damage to the ceiling.  Weighs only about eight ounces.

All take care and may God bless

Jim

Greg - Been wondering how you're doing. Really hope things pick up soon! If not you have a future in deck rebuilding.

Wes - Your deck looks 1,000,000,000,000,000 times better than mine. Your's looks real... mine looks like fake wood... actually just looks like a really BAD stain job.

Chief - That place sounds too good to be true. Hope everything checks out... wish I could find a nice 'vacation' place about 1 - 1.5 hours from here. Some place in the mtns.

Sir James....Know exactly where you were camping.  I worked at Pogakon State Park one summer before I started working for the highway department.  Have good friends in Fremont and Angola.   Sometime you should camp at Pokagon in the winter.  They have campgrounds set up for winter camping and you can ride the tobbagon slide.

CSXect......Sometimes you can smell the Chillicothe paper mill here in Columbus.

I hear the Chief is getting a new dog.  It is a purebred and it is name is Chief Piddle Pooch.   (Guys..I think I see a whole year of dog stories heading our way. )

Southeast Ohio was hammered last night.  I was in a town of about 6,000 today and at noon they still did not have power.  No traffic signals made driving a little challenging.

Garden RR is set up for Mrs. Buckeye to turn it on for company tomorrow.  This could be interesting.

88...How far is Romney, WV from you?  I think you would like it with the trains and the mountains.

Great job Greg and Wes.

2.5 hrs... a bit further than what I was hoping. Anything that has train related activities as part of my planning would get nixed by the Boss. When Susan and I were discussing it a few months ago, Thurmont, MD came to mind. It is close to Catoctin Mt State Park. Also thought of something down near Sugarloaf Mt, or something out toward Hagerstown.

Good Evening All

Buckeye,it was a nice campground, restrooms and showers could use an upgrade but everything else was nice. I am not a camping fan, but it gets all of our little family together for an outing. We reached 81 today with our early evening downpour. And I checked in with my train buddy and very little stock has come into the store. I think both the L and the M are having trouble getting things made over there. I can not find any sympathy for them at all.

Brutus, stand back I am going to lite the fuse and off we go....S.J.

Well, I did it.  Bargined for the lake house.  3 bedrooms but only one bath, office room, big livingroom, big kitchen, front and back deck.  Car port [two car], out building big enough to store a boat [but will use as storage], Storage building and metal boat storage building [will hold both big boats].  New JD mower [bigger than mine], 21 foot Mayko center console with Yahama 200 [radar, GPS and depth finder] and 28 foot pontoon boat with Johnson 90.  Also golf cart.  House comes furnished and even wide screen HD TV.  Lot is 1.1 acres [lots of mowing].  Got one boat slip and private ramp.  Guy is in no hurry so plenty of time to work out the details.

Morning!

Buckeye:  Can't wait to see the photos of the Garden Railroad!  Did you require Mrs. Buckeye to wear the hat to run the trains?

Chief:  Sounds like a great place!  Best of luck.

Quiet day here.  Layed low after company Sunday.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 62 degrees. Going up to 78 today, with some sunshine.

Today is the day, that I drive up to Cambridge for groceries. Gas dropped to $3.86 here. I wonder what it will be in Cambridge. Usually about 12 cents cheaper. Maybe that's a misprint. Anyway, food prices have not dropped at all. Coffee and apples have gone sky-high.

No time for trains today. Darn.

Dining car has arrived and it's time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Well, how do you like that!  Just figured out why I occasionally lose my replies.  I must be hitting the "page back" key instead of the "left arrow" key when I want to go back to change a word or insert something.  Have to be more careful in the future.  We now return you to the regularly scheduled post.

Morning everyone,

I appreciate the compliments on the deck.  Neighbor also told me I should build decks.  Might give it a try.

Buckeye and Chuck, either or both of you going to the OTTS picnic this weekend?  Karen and I are planning to go.  Will be good to see the gang again.

The sky is clearing up now.  Wonder how hot it will really get today.  Prediction is for mid seventies.

Better post this before I hit the wrong key, AGAIN!

It looks like it is going to be nice today so I will finish up painting the garage.

All you with kid challenges are still in my prayers.

All take care

God bless

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' Yanks.  Back from the Commonwealth, and all I'm gonna do today is the laundry.  Already 79 with rain in the forecast for the Mid-Atlantic region.

rt - Thanks for the dinner tip (caught it late;will try it on a return trip).  And there will be a return trip, especially since fifey's-wifey discovered the Yankee Candle Factory Store Shock [:O]!  (*Notice I didn't use the word "OUTLET", as that would indicate a bargain price or two Shock [:O])  Actually, the place was awesome, even had a Dept 56 storeThumbs Up [tup], and a Christmas section complete with real man-made snow falling from the ceiling.

GregM - Admired your work.  Were you honing your skills for your layout benchwork?  If so, should be able to sustain a ATS missile strike.

Chief - Movin' on up, to the east side...

Good morning,

Had a severe thunderstorm warning again for western Palm Beach county last night, 60mph winds and penny sized hail according to the weather channel. Storm missed my area or I would be out picking up tree branches and palm fronds.

Changed out the air conditioning thermostat again, AC wasn't acting right. It would stay on too long or not come on when I felt it needed to, so I replaced the thermostat. If problems keep up I will call Mike in Orlando(wife's former brother-in-law) as he does AC work for a living and see what he says to do.

Probally don't need another passenger set but the Williams Pennsy set is a really good deal.

Greetings from hot & humid NorthEast Florida/SouthEast Georgia 90 again today very large humidity, big rain yesterday with the promise of more today.

I was going to suggest a CTT Coffee Pot ocean cruise, but since Chief has a resort, heck, we'll just go there...there is a Jacuzzi, right?

Nothing much on the train front, cleaned the room and table last night after softball. we lost 10-20.  Wife intercepted me before I could do anything else....

OK, boys, gotta get back to the grind..see ya in a short-short

Maybe a small version of this?  If you get the right threading, you could even substitute a small eye bolt - the drywall should hold much more than the weight of your plane, don't you think?  Then, if you decide to take it down, just unwind the bolt and spackle, leave the toggle behind - no harm.

Unbelieveable, I just got cheated out of a house on the lake by some dead beat from the South.  Supposedly some big shot politician.  Ya, just can't win!

Visitors today and what train did they like the best?  They liked the Garden RR because they could see themselves building one.

Had a great lunch visit with Wes today.  He and I looked at Legacy today at LHS.  Price $249 out the door and they have all been upgraded.  (I wouldn't doubt that if Lionel had not upgraded these particular units they may have found themselves talking to a Buckeye lawyer. We have some very strong consummer protection laws except for lake houses.)

Kurt....I wasn't here to enforce the wearing of the cap as Mrs. Buckeye ran the trains in the Garden.   She has been known to forget the important things when running the trains.

Greg....If the picnic is to be an annual affair, Chuck and I might be able to arrange our schedules for next year.   Speaking of OTTS, have the T-Shirts been ordered?

Those work well. I have them in my around the ceiling layout.  They hold 75 lbs each in drywall.  Even better is this, which has the plusses of being able to take the bolt out without loosing the anchor (huge plus).  Also, the anchor sits flush against the back of the drywall.  The hole that you put in the drywall can be smaller because you don't have to push a hinge into the hole.
