Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 66 degrees. Going up to 83 today, with a chance of rain, later.

Today is a busy day. I have to paint a wall in the kitchen. Wife painted hers. She used two colors, on a patterned roller. Looks good. I get the wall behind the refrigerator.  Moving job. Looks like no time for trains.

Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Morning all. Sunny and warm today - my oldest's birthday - turns 17. That means (to her) that she can now legally drive through midnight. I've a Facebook account too, Brutus. I will 'friend' you - got a extraordinarily high estimate to fix the van :(

Fifey, lot for sale up the street but no house on it.  Patience.  One for sale but it might flood if hurricane [hard to believe though as so high up but not as high as mine].  It sold after a long wait and now within two years, on the market again.  BTW: Pink is fine.

set up an oval on the floor in the one bedroom to check out my zw and run a few trains last night.

Chief as expected zw works great.

Ran my 671RR first then the 681 and then hooked them up back to back and ran them man that looked sweet wish there was a way without ruining one of them to hook the 6 PA Passenger cars to them that would really look awsume.

Ran the 6664 B&O Williams GP-7/9 for a while too she ran good. plan to run the virginian trainmaster by Williams sometime today also.

Ran my southern U36B's also but they sounded like they need some attention (ie lube and oiling) as its been a while scince they have been run.

Hey brutus don't feel bad about being shorted 2 hours I was shorted 16 hours this pay period. plus holiday pay for 4th the previous pay period. but its suposely all corrected now and I should see it one of the next few pay periods. So that and the shock of personal property tax on the truck this pay period really hurt.

Lazy saturday here for me guess will go run the trains some more talk to you all later.

Good afternoon all,

Back after a week's vacation to the Ocean City, MD, area (Ocean Pines for those familiar with the area).  We rented two houses and took almost the whole clan.  Jean and I, 3-kids & 2-spouses + 8 grandkids from 1 to 15.  Needless to say it was an interesting week. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]  We had great weather, only major rain was overnight one night.  Did have a slight drizzle one evening but didn't keep us in.  Pop-pop baby sat the one year old one day and evening so her Mom could enjoy a little time with the other two daughters.  A lot of fun, but it is always nice to get home.

I haven't had a chance to read the last weeks posts, will try to do that later.

And then there are the 145 emails in the In-Box.

Just got back from monthly TCA Western Division meet.  Took four quaility locomotives all priced below Greenberg and below E Bay averages.  Bottom line--- I could'nt give the stuff away.  They had an auction after table sales but there were no buyers.  Everybody there was a seller.  I heard there was another auction going on in another part of town.  Great coordination.  I suppose a lot of people are on vacation now as well.  It's really frustrating to dig all this stuff out, pack it up, haul it to the meet and set up a table, then haul it all back home.  Where was all this stuff when I was buying?  Moral of the story I guess is, whatever you buy from now on, plan on keeping unless you give it away.  Ray

Locally, I always sell more after christmas, The only reason I can think of is that train buyers hold off their spending on trains because they are not sure how much money will be spent for christmas. Just a theory.

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps and humidity in the 80s.  Been a long and stressful week at work and it does not look as if it will get better for a while.  Have had some relaxing evenings at home which is good.  Thursday night practiced with "my" soccer girls and mowed part of yard that Lucas could not get done.  Friday wife had all the housework done and older daughter was down for the weekend with her two kids.  Her husband was doing some renovation projects at their house.  Saturday edged the sidewalks, played some games with the grandkids, did weights and some track work at the YMCA (yes, Jack, it is back to the grind, but I will still have time to work with the teams before the season begins), went to the car show uptown, and watched part of the IRL race on the internet.  Manning got another top 10 and moved to 12th in the points.  Car show was smaller in turnout but more variety this year.  Saw a beautiful "boattail" Auburn and a nice custom 48 Cadillac.  I also looked at the new Lionel and K-Line catalogs online.  I had a little extra on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

TIRED.  After gathering garden, showered and went to Miss Edna's.  Then home and mowed all the grass.  Then went to pond and planted laripee [sp????] along the path to stop washing as path is really sloped there.  Then to Lowes for more bird food.  Fed the birds and now to rest.  Old folks are not suppose to work.  Good night all.  Sleep tight and don;t let the bed bugs bite.

Speaking of bugs biting.  Frankie beeped me on the Nextel to say he is out of work for a few days.  Went on a call the other night [911 hangup] that was a domestic.  Had to go down long path and when he got to mobile home, it looked abandoned as it was grown up so bad.  Said it was the dirtest place he had ever gone too.  He got to itching later and when he finished his shift and got home, coverd with tiny ticks.  From waist on down.  Today he was swollen and spots ozzing.  Went to Dr. and got meds.  One leg has over 40 bites.  Told him not to wear long pants, socks or shoes for at least two days.  Had blood test.  Got to go back Tues for followup and blood test.  He obviously walked through a "nest" of them.

GOOD EVENING ALL

Well the only train news is I got a copy of the new K-Line catalog, store has not received their Lionels yet. except for their copy of course. And like the new L catalog not much excitement there. We had a real nice day here 87 this afternoon but 77 now and so I went out to chat with neighbors till 9pm. The summer days sure go by faster than the winter ones.

Brutus fire up the thing and lets go.   S.J.

Front and sides mowed and trimmed.  Grass was so high after 2 weeks that I had to use the side-discharge instead of mulch.  This means I'll have to mow again soon to get all that cut off stuff ground up and out of the way of the grass.  Knee is fine though so it was smart to wait.  Prayers for Frankie, Chief - that's no joke!  Hope he doesn't get a fever or something.  Doug Murphy - thanks for that TARDIS, too COOL!  I like all the add-on apps with Flair (Office Space?) and stuff too, very fun.

TARDIS arrived via Flair/Email so it's ready to fly!  Beacons on and grab something to bring along, got rootbeer and Old Mils as well as a couple Sam Adams.  No AB products allowed.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Ouch, prayers for Frankie's swift recovery.  The daughter's birthday seemed to go well. I only had to go out for more pop twice...

Built a little bonfire - I guess any real bonfire isn't small - for toasting marshmallows and making s'mores. I'm going to hang around for another hour to be sure it is doused.

Clear night. Beacon is on! I have a six-pack of Old Style for the boys...

Good Morning all

On wonderful night shift, and all the work is done and now just routine monitoring.

Jim-I ended up going low tech to hang the biplane from the ceiling.  I went with 8# fishing line, tied to a small washer and used a course drywall screw through the washer.  Seems to be holding fine, but just in case the plane loses altitude, it is over an area where nothing important would get crashed into.  I posted pics in Sunday Photo Fun.  I like the way it turned out.

Chief- Ticks are no fun, seems to be a lot this year.  I've picked about six off myself after mowing fields.

Doug- The campfire sounds like a good time.

Wes & RT the mess up with OT checks can be a pain.  You may see if they will put it on a seperate check to avoid being lumped into one check and taxed at a higher rate.

Well back to work

May God bless

Jim

Fifey = no more muttering about moving, at least in the last few weeks.  I been so busy at work though she's has hardly had time to tell me anything, especially with the Sisters visting.  Last of the sisters is heading back to Texas on Monday. Florida sister left Friday night.   Wifey and sister are going to visit Bro in Northern VA.  Spent a few hours at work yesterday and will go back again today since I am not going to visit her borther in Northern VA.

More interesting stuff at school. Whenever they would fire up the hot water heater it would chatter and whine and make weird noises.  Contractor tried to blame a belt on a circulator pump. Found out late Friday that they installed the WRONG hot water heater.  We are using propane to heat the water, and they installed a Natural Gas water heater.  Will have to change out the water heater and hope it will come in soon. Banged Head [banghead] Moveable partitions are installed but noticed yesterday that one of the doors on the big wall in the cafeteria has a hole punched on the bottom of it.  Banged Head [banghead]  Will point out hole to construction manager on Monday. At this point I am thinking we may have to issue hard hats and steel toed shoes to all of the little ones. Big week coming up with tech training.  Having a major issue with some new pieces of software and Active Directory. Banged Head [banghead], especially when trying to utilize software while not connected to network. Basically I am working as Beta tester for our Tech Services Department finding issues.  Another software company sent us a password that will not work. Banged Head [banghead]

Have a great weekend.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 61 degrees. Going up to 83 today, with sunshine all day. We had a little thunderstorm last night. Not a lot of rain, but lots of thunder.

Today is an easy day. I will be relaxing and enjoying the weather. There is a good Nascar race this afternoon from Indy. Fast track. I may watch it while I run trains.

Dining car is here and ready for breakfast. Cheerios.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Mornin' boys.  Partly sunny & 77 here in the Mid-Atlantic region (60% chance of rain later Sad [:(]).  Did not get to relax at the pyull like I wanted.  Got trumped by (.)(.)WMBO, and took family (sans littlest princess) to go see Batman.  Group sitting near us brought infant who squirmed and yapped all thru the movie, but would Mamma take her out of theatre --->nnnNNNOOOOoooo...  Oh, and big fella with same group had a cell phone conversation in the middle of the flick as well...  I want my $40 bucks back!  Then we ate at Chili's afterwards, and wound up near a young group of people with self control issues...I wasn't feeling very Christian last night.

mitchie - That hard hat idea is a cool one.  Might want to get a bunch of plastic ones with opening day stamped on it to hand out to everyone attending this Fall.  I'll leave my insensitive comments about your lousy contracting work at the door...
