Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps and humidity in the 90s.  Going to Mid-Ohio for the IRL race this weekend.  Not quite as good a deal as last year but the tickets and overnight stay Saturday night are free so can't and won't complain too much.  Mitch, thanks for the Java update tip.  One of the people I work with got the same notice on her work computer and I told her to check with the "techies" before doing it.  Good thing she did.  Lucas brought home from the library a "George of the Jungle" DVD from the original show.  Watched two episodes.  Nothing like some "Tom Slick" or "Super Chicken" to put a smile on your face (of course, Ursula and Fella were not bad, either :-)).  I had the usual fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Mornin' boys.  Hey! mornin' mitchie!  Already 3H weather here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Gotta run to grocery store, then to bank, then change the oil and rotate the tires on the Chevy,  then take the kids to the pyull, then come home and pack.  THERE SHALL BE NO TRAINS TODAY.

dwiemer - the original von Trappe estate outside Salzburg is actually going to open up as an inn for tourists, and Maria (the daughter) will be taken by LEAR jet for the blessing.  According to Kelly, Maria (the mother) died back in '92.  Make the Trappe Family Lodge in Stowe one of those things on your to-do list.

Phish - thanks for the invite.  Fifey's-wifey wanted to post hers vs his photos on the forum, but I didn't need a lesson in humility this month.Black Eye [B)]Grumpy [|(]Laugh [(-D]

Morning all. Hot and muggy here too - which I like as January will be here soon enough. I appreciate the quiet in the office - and the a/c.

Got the latest Trains and MR out of the library last eve.  Daughter was out to see Batman at midnight. Bet she'll sleep all day today. Son picks up football pads today - another check to write. Funny, I use the bed bugs quote with our youngest at bedtime too. He finishes it for me.

No plans this weekend except working video at church Sunday. The bride though has people coming over every day and night.

Hey yo....

Lots of fun today, rained most of the day yesterday, more of the same today...no softball for the last 2 weeks due to precip.  Hate that....Banged Head [banghead]

Went outside this AM to get to work, found the boy's convertible top slashed open and all of his electronic stuff (radio, tomtom, laptop, etc) gone.  Wife over reacted screaming/yelling...waiting for the coppers to show up now, already called the insurance co. (HEY, FIFE!! Where were ya when I needed ya?Whistling [:-^])  So, I'll have to clean out the g-rage to get the boys car inside later.  More joyous fun....Banged Head [banghead]

Other than that, been learning to tread water...business bill day today, now that the coffee is finished (and 2 Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!), time to get to work.

OK see ya later!

Mornin' Fellas.

Trying to get some small projects wrapped up here before I vacate, and they keep asking for more. Depending on how much is in my paycheck next Friday they could find themselves one employee short the following Monday. Evil [}:)]

Rich - the bennies aren't spectacular, but they'll do, the main reason for the change is upward mobility, there is NONE where I am now. Plus the atmosphere is more positive and condusive to enjoying work and life again.

Fife - Have fun in Williamsburg. My lil sister and her family are leaving from there today.

Buckeye - your 'puter must have contracted the same infectious disease that my father's PC and laptop did. He is now the proud owner of a new PC and rebuilt laptop - courtesy of someone other than myself! Thumbs Up [tup] He called last night and told me 'I now realize how much money you had been saving me over the years on computer repairs and builds'. He needs to have a backsplash installed in their kitchen and the quote they got was $2,000 just for labor! Told him I would do it for half that! Wink [;)]

Well gonna run and see how much more I can get accomplished today... that is before I head out at 3:30 for The Dark Knight

WOW !!  That really stinks!  Know the feeling all too well, I've had two vehicles stolen (both El Caminos), then my FIL's car was stolen right from our driveway as well.  Really leaves a big PIT feeling!  Hope it works out reasonably well !!!

Going to take the afternoon off today, and head over to the NMRA train show, may stop at a LHS on the way.  Havn't been by there in quite a while.  (Have to work the weekend so today is the DAY.)

Ran trains for awhile last night, was so involved didn't hear the phone or nothing.  Really was fun, had a glass of wine, trains working perfectly.  Only one difficulty, used the ALL command and had trains parked on sidings responded as well.  And I thought I had the power off to the sidings.

Glad the Tardis has unlimited seating, I have a feeling there could be an unexpected group of 20 or more guests wanting to get aboard this evening.  Probably wanting the "Grand Tour".

Later, Hope everyone has a good day!  BTW I hear that there is a good possibility that some people maybe trying to improve their community, so make sure any manhole covers, isolated rails, copper cantary wires are secure and being monitored.  It appears that there is a covert activity occuring in PA, suspects identified were from NC, and OHizo.

Rich, sorry for the problem.  My  ex-step-daughter had one when she was in college.  Got cut so many times, Ins. Co, started requiring deductables.

Afternoon all.  Been in meetings at Town Hall.  Came home to show neighbor and his son how to tie a hook on his fishing line [no, he did not know how].  Now going to fix lunch as no breakfast due to Town business calls.  Even got some on machine when I got back in.  Later

Afternoon fellas,

I was lucky enough to finally find that MTH premier OSU 40' boxcar that I have been asking everyone to keep an eye out for..came up on Ebay.  Made my day, that's for sure.

Laz - What should the Buckeye Boys do for lodging while in York?  Sounds like it's filling up fast.

Have a good one,

Chief -

Thanks for the pictures you took helping the boy with the fishing hook.  Maybe you might want to get Pam to help.

And how much grease did you say you put on the reel?

Well, at least he was able to catch a fish with the Bamboo pole while you were getting his jig set up.

I'm thinking $200 for an alarm system might be inorder... detachable face radio... taking the 'portable' items inside at night.

Had a friend in college who's windows were broken so they could get to his radio. Then they popped the trunk and hit the mother load. Hockey equipment, baseball equipment, subwoofers, amps, crossover, etc... back before cellphones, ipods, and laptops were common. Friend lost about $2,500 in hockey and baseball equipment, as well as $3,000 for the radio and stereo... all because he left the faceplate on the radio and didn't have an alarm... my car was right next to his without the faceplate and with an alarm (guess the Cobra face scared 'em off). Last time I put a nice system in my car too.

Thanks for well wishes guys.  Turns out, the guy across the street got hit, too.  Looks like it may be some "thugs" going around looking for stuff.  Funny thing, the guy & the kids (in separate cars) went to the midnight show of the Dark Knight.  Best part is the stereo they stole wasn't working right and was off/ no tune-age.  Even better, boy has SERIAL NUMBERS!!! So, if this dirt bag trys to hock anything, bam!  Auto insurance will pay for most of it, fortunately, $250 deduct.  They got in at 3 AM and were plenty tired.  Lame excuse, but, I guess life is a hard teacher!

Brent - did you get my rant?

Time to go home..gotta empty the garage for the boy.  More fun than I wanted, but, hey, at least he still HAS a car!

I wonder if that covert activity had to do with 21 unexplained guests arriving at my doorstep today?  Was it via tardis? or from DA WEST COAST?  Cute little GIZ?

ANJDEVIL,

Those sons of a beaches, hope they catch em.  Gives you that empty feeling.  I know cause someone rifled through my truck during a wrestling match at our school a few years back.  Had my favorite flyrod and fishing gear stolen from my truck and along with about $40 bucks worth of change.

WES,

If you are going to book a hotel in YORK, I heard that they boost the rates?  Don't know if it is true?  But if you wouldn't mind driving 20 minutes to YORK, I would think about booking a place in Harrisburg.  It's just up the road about 15 miles or so?

Hi Guys, well it was hot and humid in St. Louis - the usual.  Rivers are down, finally.  I meant to take a pic of that soccer field near my house to show the difference, but forgot.  Maybe tomorrow....  Daughter went to a birthday party and son is coming home tonight on Amtrak with his grandma, so wife and I went out to eat.  Got really bad service, food was just okay.  I ordered the jambalaya on penne pasta, which only really had 4 major ingredients other than some green peppers and onions - chicken, shrimp, sausage and noodles.  Hmmm - no sausage on the plate?  Plus, waiter didn't want to bring a strawberry lemonade because it's not free refills?  Guess I wasn't dressed nicely enough to look like I would want a $2 lemonade?  So, I had water with lemon.  I was going to stiff him on the tip, but my wife wouldn't let me.  Kinda killed the date-night experience anyway.

Mitch, hope things turn around for your son, what a bummer!  Java screwed up my laptop once, but I was able to just uninstall and reinstall a different version....

Rich, sorry to hear about the car and stuff, that's a real shame!

Guys, there are no bedbugs allowed in the TARDIS, but plenty of room for your friends in the arboretum, I think Don?  Ready to go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good night all.  Sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite.  Off to bed.  Had some rain late this afternoon.  Seems there is a tropical event off the coast of GA/SC headed our way.  Going to get more rain.  Miss Edna's tomorrow.  Don B called and told me of his great finds at the train show.  Told me to get ot bed.  I did.  Right in the recliner the instant he hung up.  Later.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 65 degrees. Going up to 90, again, with mostly sunny skies.

Today is a busy day. I have to hang up some things on the walls, in the kitchen, for the wife. She finished painting, and it looks good. Redecorating is a long process.

Maybe some train time later. Need to dust again.

Dining car is here and it's Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

At work yesterday we had a Lionel delivery with the UP SD70's included.  I "had to" test run a few of the units prior to shipping them out to pre-order customers.  Great looking units, but they will smoke you out real quick.  They're shipped with some smoke fluid already in them, guess from factory testing, and supposidly set at medium, I'd hate to think how quick yopu'd be smoked out of your train room with them on high.  All I can say is to shut off the smoke alarms in the train room when you run one.

Morning all. Rained all night. Tough to get up to go lead this men's group at church at 6 am. When I got home, bride announced she wants to paint middle boy's room today. Have fun, knock yourself out, I said. Wrong answer.  I know what I'll be doing the rest of the day. ;)
