Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps and humidity in the 90s. Had some "pop-up" storms yesterday, just enough to speckle the cars but not enough to really the ground wet. Slept in the chair and iced the legs last night. Now backs of legs are sore from being stretched on the footrest. I just can't win :-( When I woke up later on in the evening, the internet was out, but it was working this morning. Did get some good news. Lucas got an American Cancer Society scholarship so if there is anybody on the 'pot who has contributed over the years, a big "Thank You" from the Connor family. Doug M, if you go thru Greensburg Sunday on the way home, please stop by. We'll probably go to church Saturday as there is some big doings at the regular service we go to. I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
GOOD MORNING ALL
I seem to be in the "pause mode" this morning, I'm here but things are in slow motion. Maybe just lazy. The weather for today is mid 80s and yep storms forecast for later today and tomorrow. I know whats going to happen, we get all this rain now and then everything will turn brown from lack of water. My train friend says the store is slow but mostly because the preorder stuff is not coming in. The Bach./Wms. rep has been in and the owner is thinking about adding some of it to the store due to lack of new product from the L and the M. We are waiting to see what happens next. Well it's friday but also the end of june already so make the best of it......S.J..

I have a pre-order in for a UP 12-wheel well car, '08 V1, that is still scheduled for June, but I'm not holding my breath.
Mike: Great news on the scholarship! From a near miss to roses!
Finished cleaning house and re-installing the sofa covers. Washed those in the washer...$300 to get the sofa cleaned, by the carpet guys. Carpet cleaners due in this afternoon. Nothing cleans a house like having company or going on vacation! Off to Minnesota to see in in-laws this evening... Did Priceline for a hotel, 3-star for $65 with a pool! Red roof was $80. See ya in a week!

Good morning, ya'll,
After mowing lawns (walk behind) for about 50 years, I learned something this week.
I found myself with a weather forecast of severe thunderstorms, on the losing end of the battle of the "schedule" (because of on-and-off rains), and too-tall grass. Faced with the spectre of EITHER facing wife with yet another excuse OR the possibility of getting struck by lightening, I chose the risk of getting struck by lightening.
What I learned was, when facing certain death versus possible death, choose possible death so you might live to procrastinate another day. Mowed in record time, keeping one eye on the sky and the other looking for doggie surprises in grass.
Dennis....got to wondering, how many of those "on call" calls you get are from folks afraid to make decisions and use the resources at hand?
Jim.....had to smile at your stuck in traffic story, not to make light of the traffic fatality. Yesterday 3 bank robbers North of Boston made a successful heist, only to get stymied by roadblocks and rush hour traffic. Had to abandon their car in an attempt an escape on foot. Traffic meltdown for me and the rest. Given the level of frustration of the innocent commuters, it was fortunate for the bank robbers that the folks stuck in traffic weren't packing sidearms. Otherwise, their quick capture and arrest would have become a moot point. Morale of the story: bank robbers should have used a getaway helicopter disguised as a car parked in front of the bank.
Brent.....after target practice on DirecTV dish, reinstall on roof top with a sign that reads: "Before you sign up for DirecTV, call me first." Then hush money from DirecTV would soon follow to fund your layout project and Susan's automobile a/c repair.
Chief.....did it ever occur to you that this "Chief clan Myrtle Beach mini family reunion", without you, spearheaded by wife Pam, and then extended, was done on purpose? Hmmmm!
Grayson.....if you do "finish" your layout by the end of July, though you are younger than most of us, you will be the first Pot participant to "finish" a layout. BTW, July of what year?
Chuck.....glad to hear the hammer worked and your house a/c is functioning again.
Fife.....your parole officer called, but we covered for you.
MikeC.....congratulations on another scholarship score for Lucas. Maybe you won't have to sell off the trains and take on 2 more jobs after all, though that idea of selling your body on the street doesn't have much potential.
Rich.....a lot of the younger guys may not realize that the 60's and 70's American muscle cars eschewed factory a/c for pure, hairy knuckled quickness and speed. A/C was rolling down the windows (manually).
Lee....hope you didn't take my previous post complaining about the MA. toll roads and bridges personally. No offense intended.
Kurt....enjoy the vaca and Minnesota (Land of 1000 lakes?)! Got your fishing pole packed?
Roy....you're kind of quiet on the construction updates. Digging that 6 foot hole in the back yard to dispose of the dead contractors' bodies must be taking you more time than you figured.
DougM.....remember, Hilton Head, SC. to Gary, IN.,.....937 miles and 15 hours. Gary, IN to Crystal Lake IL.....78 miles and another 15 hours. Routes 80/94, 6, and 294 have been under construction or reconstruction since the dawn of time. From the highway department this am...
"Note to Indiana I-80/94 Travelers in the Gary Area:Beginning at 9:00 PM Monday through Friday, crews will restrict various lanes on the Frank Borman Expressway between Martin Luther King Drive and Central Avenue. Also, between midnight and 5:00 AM crews will close the roadway for up to 20 minutes at a time. Indiana State Police will be on hand to help direct traffic with the rolling closures. You may wish to verify your route on INDOT's Web site at Borman Expressway. For your safety, always obey local construction and detour signs."
Seriously, I suggest in Indiana stay South of those Routes and take a wider swing around Chicago on more rural roads. Farther but much faster, and less aggravating. Once or twice a year I have to encounter that stretch of parking lot. The time of the year, the day of the week, or the time of day/night makes absolutely no difference, in either direction. A mess of epic proportions.

Jack, fortunately, they have to go through several doors before they get to me. I usually have some person of intelligence make the right call before it comes my way, but like the saying goes, "You know what they call the guy who finished last in his class at medical school?"....answer, "Doctor". We've had patients on the table ready to go and find none of the symptoms consistent with the "diagnosis". Only by checking and rechecking do we make the right call. Of course, sometimes in a world where you have to make a call on someone else's judgement because time may be of the essense, you open up and tell the patient afterward that they didn't need the operation, so you just close them back up. Even the best make bad calls...they just make a lot fewer of them.
Well, I am just waiting around to make sure nothing happens for the next little bit. Nanny is taking kids to the park, and wife is putting in a few hours at work. Hope to go home and have a little peace and rest. May take the gang out to dinner tonight. I also got a TPC400 that should arrive from ChooChooAuctions today. If it is at the house, I will install that and get some of the post war going.
Hope everyone has a blessed weekend. I have the call duty still, but if they keep it quiet, our church is putting on the fireworks display and a big fair for the community this Sunday evening. I am supposed to work the equestrian events, but we shall see.
God Bless,
Dennis

Hot here - hit 100 today. North Polar Cap melting - if we get everyone to throw a bag of ice into their front yard all at the same time we can fix this!
Off to Tennessee tomorrow - boating, fishing, eating, drinking magic elixers, etc., all on tap for next week!
Have a great 4th everyone!

Ok that sounds like a challenge I will try to meet that deadline to have a golden spike by the end of July(of this year). Basic rules bench work and track work must be completed don't have to worry about scenery. Anyone else interested??? winners get bragging rights losers must strike thier avatar and replace it with a NS logo for the remainder of the year
GOOD EVENING ALL
I did get moving a little bit today. I had to clean the tree seed things out of the gutters. I cleaned them once this year but the downpours of rain we have been having cleaned them off the roof but clogged the downspouts. And I don't even have a tree. Shrubs and flowers, yes, but no trees. Took my wife to a local resturant for supper but spent a lot of time sleeping on the couch. Migraine will not give up. No train running or news today so no report from the store. Enjoy your weekend.,,,,,,,,S.J.
OK Brutus lite the fuse and lets get going.
Guess I got home a little late from work to catch the tarus ride oh well theres always tomorrow
Been a busy day I helped out a nursing staff ( 3rd floor east as one of the patients ) little older gentleman) in a wheel chair wanted to go down the stairs to get to his car I played road block in front of the door until I could get one of the nurses there by waving my hands.
Long day today but thats good for the paycheck found a guy who likes model railroading in there that going to be there for a while hes more interested into ho or n so I'm going to take him my n scale set and get him a board about 2' by 3' to make a little layout on. will have to try and find him some nails and other things will paint the board green before I take it in.

Running late today, got a call from a great friend of mine who has been "Gone to Texas" for about 20 years now. Had a great talk for nearly 2 hours - just talked about everything. If he liked toy trains, it would have been perfect!
Picked up Doyle's book on Lionel trains from 1900 to 1942. Looks great! I've meant to pick it up for a long time, but it was on sale at Borders with a coupon I had.
TARDIS is on the way, I'll come back and get you guys asap!
Prayers for your migraine, SJ1.

Morning Folks,
Washed out the pot and made fresh. Finally caught up reading all the posts since I was here last. Super busy at work, been working 10 and 12 hour days the last two weeks. School is coming along well. This week had training 3 days out of 5, then cae back and worked 3 or 4 hours at school before heading home. Mrs is not too happy with the work hours but understands what needs to be done. Last night I left early (4:15) and we had dinner out, came home and reclinerized until bed time.
Today I am heading out to help Mom & Dad. They rent out my grandparents house which is next door to them. Tenants moved out last week and now they are in frenzy to get house ready to rent again, nothing major but lots of maintenance projects. Carpet needs to be replaced and they are thinking of replacing windows.
Got to get on the road as I am wasting daylight.
Take care,
Mitch

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 72 degrees. Quiet nite. Going up to 82 today, with a chance of thunderstorms later. Hope not.
Today is a busy day. I have some chores to do and a few things to fix. I need to paint one kitchen wall. Wife is doing the other. Slowly, but surely, the kitchen will be done. Maybe I'll get an hour of train time in this afternoon.
Dining car has arrived and it's time for breakfast.
Ya' all have a great Saturday.

Mornin' boys. Kinda overcast & 68 here in the Champlain region (sailing may be "iffy"). Went on layout tours last night, and our friend Kooljock has a mighty fine 12 x 5 in his basement. He uses TMCC and had a lot of accessories on his fully sceniced layout. And to boot, every accessory was put through its paces as 3 trains traversed simultaneously.
Second day of trading hall opens at 0900. Scored some nice "booty" yesterday . Actually won a door prize (boxcar), then purchased a #9602 Santa Fe Hi-Cube, a Weaver outside braced boxcar in CV markings, and the coup-de-tat was a Premier MTH Collector's Club NE caboose in Chessie/WM for $40 buckaroos. (Wouldn't even see that one on a table back home, but since everyone models New England up here...) Spent less than $100 alltogether.
Laz - No "Champ" sightings.
RockIsland - my Parole officer travels with me, as I always seem to be "on probation" for something...

HI GIZ,
Big storms last nite for about 1.5 hrs big rain we needed it. Went down to ETOWN last nite and had BAR-B -Q with MIKE and his wife, good time. MIKE and I ran his trains for about an hour. Very impressed with his layout. He has it in a 10 by 10 room but has 3 tiers that runs get this, 9 trains, all with sidings. I was impressed. COOL LAYOUT. Ate burgers and dogs had a few beers and the nite just flew by. We left at 1030 got back home at 1130. I was gonna run trains but fell asleep in recliner.
Today got wifes teacher friends coming over for lunch so gotta clean up a little this morning.
FIFE, watch your toes in that Lake, things are a lurking? Glad your having a good trip.

Morning all. Off to Miss Edna's with some groceries. Hot here today. Got seniors' cookout at Church this afternoon. Wife just called and is on the way home. Should be here around noon or a little after. Burg will bge happy. He misses her. Does the same when I'm gone. He see me and roller bag going down hall and he will not look up. Hope all have a great day. God bless.
Morning All ! Nothing much to report on the weather here, pretty much the same everyday. Should be in the mid 80's, little morning haze but that will burn off by 11.
Looks like summer travels are begining, Roy to Tennessee, Buckeye to SF/Sacramento, Strurgeon Fish in Ca, I think. John F has grandkids on an extended visit from CO.. Don't think we will be going far, maybe next year. Wife and Chris may be going to Vegas for a few days, but nothing special.
I finally have the "major" items on the layout finished for awhile. Now to work on some of the minor little items. Realized I have an accessory that I did not hook up, the Lionel fast track road gang. Have the fastrack set up for a trolley line and the road gang at one end. All I need to do is wire it and connect it to the DCS system. Also what to see about installing some sound affects on the layout.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! And, Doug and family make it home safely!

GOOD MORNING
Overcast and 77,looks like rain, grass is getting high. My wife said it rained twice last nite, I did not hear anything until she woke me, wanted to know if she should turn off A/C until storm passed. No boring train mag. to read, no news from the store,so it looks like PS2 golf or trains. If we get lightning it won't be either one. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Stay safe..S.J.
Good morning,
Hot & humid in south Florida again, expecting more thunderstorms today, just hope they are not so strong as past couple of days. Had to do some clean up of tree branches in the yard.
Got new computer yesterday and trying to get on line with it, so far still using old computer for a few more days, maybe a few more weeks. Have to call AT&T about DSL service.
Been working about 32 hours a week lately. Gas is about $4.07 a gallon and going up!
Still trying to figure out the MTH update and how to install it on my TIU, maybe with the new computer I can upgrade my TIU! Have the update stored on my old computer but will have to download it to new computer and go from there.
Brent, got your email on my Yahoo email, been real busy this past week.

John, heard that. Read a story of a guy with his father's old double barrel shotgun that he had in his bedroom. Two intruders armed with knives broke into his house, he shot and killed one, wounded the other. He ended up in jail for murder and was sued by the intruder who he wounded.....rather crazy laws. We had a bunch on this side of the pond who would rather change laws to punish good folks and not make the criminals accountable. So far, in the states that have allowed folks to carry personal firearms, the crime rate has gone down.
Well, I am at the hospital again....this time to take care of someone who is a "ward of the state". I did get a few packages yesterday. A box of books from Amazon and two train related items. Got a Seaworld aquarium car from The Train-Station and a TPC400 from ChooChoo. Was hoping to get that mounted on the layout, but alas I am not home. Wife wants to do a movie tonight. Not impressed with the lineup. They took Prince Caspian and Iron Man out of the theaters around here. May see either "Wanted" or "Hulk". Have a sitter, so we'll do WallE with the kids next week.
Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.
Hey guys - hmmm, good coffee Sir James. Is that a little cinnamon? Nutmeg?
Worked 8 OT, picked up some 2x4s to frame around doorways, ate out with family and now doing the computer thing while kids take over tvs and stuff.

Well busy day today here in MILLERSBURG, PA. Wife had some of her friends over for diner. Fires up the grill had some dogs and wife made up a PICKADILLE sandwitch. Which is a grilled cheese andwitch then you add bacon, letuce and tomatoe along with another piece o toasted bread. They loved it! Showed off ponds and rest of grounds and then ate then showed off train room. They loved it! They said brought back memories of their youth. Now they want to come back with their husbands to let them see it. Maybe a big GUY GET TOGETHER WITH BEER? Stay tuned.
Went to church tonite then out to dinner with wife and BRO and his wife. Ate VEAL PARMESAN, Perfect! Good VIDDALS as they say down SOUTH.
Came home and then ran trains foe 1.5 hrs all good NO PILE UPs.
Later,
Hey All !
Quiet here today. The better half is taking part in the "Relay for Life" walk-a-thon, which means I was up rather late last nite and up very early this morning to make sure all the stuff she wanted to take was ready to go and her car packed. With all the stuff that she and the rest of the hens are taking it sounds kinda like a hen party & junk food fest all rolled into one.
Good day at the museum yesterday, no malfunctions or pileups. Spent part of this afternoon sending out some e-mails looking for some additional operators for tuesday at the museum. So far it is only yours truly, normally it wouldn't be of much concern except it is the dreaded "Free Tuesday", in other words it will be wall to wall people all day long.
Doug M. Boy does that comment bring back some memories. Lets just say it gets a little crazy when both the bride and daughter are leaning over the rail "chumming", especially when the kiddo just mite loose the new retainer the dentist put in.

Good night. Recleinerized too long. Now waiting to take some crazy med. Had to take my 1/2 asprin and wait 30 minutes. Then take med with water and eat some applesause. Wait 30 minutes before going to bed. Too much trouble. Now here this. This is due to the placque particals in my blood being larger "they" like. What new test will they create next.
Went to Miss Edna's for visit. Dropped off veggies for her and my "Buds". Was good to be back in to the old routine. Hot dogs for lunch at Miss Edna's along with hot chips and Diet Coke. Raleightrainfan dropped in and said he had not had time to post on CTT. Since he was back working at his own practice [lawyer], had made a promise not to play on internet at work. Went to Church Seniors' cookout. Ran out of hotdogs before I got to food table. Had a good big hamburger anyway along with bakedbeans.
Wife got home 2 hours before and took a nap after unloading. Did NOT wake her for the cookout. She had fun with Grandson all week.
Now for the crazy med and lets see if I react to it.
Good night.
