Duff, what an adorable baby!
My middle daughter was born on Father's Day, 14 years ago...
Enjoy the time she spends sleeping, because that means you get to sleep some too!
But I think you're in trouble with the red hair!
Ed
For the better part of two months I think I got the hang of the sleep schedule by now. She is sleeping though the night now, mostly. She slept from nine thirty all the way to five in the morning today. It's only the beginning
Daddy thinks he's gotta get a couple of shotguns for the two timers she decides to bring in later...because of the hair. She's gonna be a looker when she gets older

Sadie is doing much better today.I would like to bring her in sometime. She is taking a peaceful nap now though. So in the future I will bring her in. Of course you know that she might be a little on the fussy side, as most babies are, but usually she's pretty quiet. Hope she will enjoy the trains passing through.
Happy Father's day to all!
Wish I was sleeping in - had a couple of projects to do before I hit the road for the railroad. The dogs have to have treats, donchaknow... (They're home-made because the Dal is allergic to wheat - I use oat flour....)
Was to tired last night that I forgot to send my best wished to the anniversary couple! Many more!
Back to work. Oh, wait - breakfast first, then back to work...

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Good morning everyone. Since no one else is in the Diner yet, I thought I would take charge of serving breakfast this morning. I've got the coffee brewing and I've mixed a fresh batch of orange juice. I also have two gallons of solar tea brewing out on the patio for those who will want ice tea later in the afternoon.
Breakfast this A,M, is bacon, pork sausage links, blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, sliced Virginia baked ham, cinnamon rolls with lots of butter and banana nut muffins.
Duff, your little one is cute! She is welcome here in the Diner anytime!

Duff - What a sweetie! You can bring her in anytime!
We could use a little of that rain up here in the wilds of northern NY. After all sorts of rain in may, we've been running pretty dry. I don't think we're in crisis mode yet, but it's not a long leap.
Another busy day on the railroad. At least we got a new car host - we need one now that I'm a trainman. This weekend's engineer also comes complete with a soon-to-be trainman, as soon as she gets her "pre-employment" stuff done. I kind of miss working with the passengers, but I do get to "play" with the trains now, and got two cab rides in the RS-3 out of it today. Can't say that I'm a good railroader yet, but so far I haven't been a bad one...
Gotta hit the sack and rest up for another day on the rails. I'll pack up a little of the leftover pizza for warming in the station microwave tomorrow.
.....Willy: Our weather pattern here in our part of central Indiana has done it this time.....Morning paper relates {info from water co.}, we are in the worst dry period in 19 years....!
Lawns are really getting brown....Farmers soybeans and corn are now in the danger zone....Everything was looking nice, but these last few weeks have taken it's toll. {It's hot too}, I had been mowing our yard every 3 to 4 days and now it is not growing....Shrubs I trimed last week show no signs of new growth...Unusual.
Weather swings are getting more pronounced in my opinion.....Don't know what that means for whether we're into warming or whatever...but it's different...!

I remember when I was four I used to love the trains, but hated them at the same time, because they were big, and very loud. Things are well here, the fires are pretty much out, but of course we are still in drought conditions. Our lakes are severely low as well, I am sure you all heard about Lake Okeechobee, and it being at it’s lowest. So I am willing to sacrifice sunny days for rainy ones, since we desperately need the moisture. Sadie isn’t a happy baby. We gave her her first feeding of rice cereal, and I think now she is trying to digest it to the best of her ability. It’s new and she’s miserable. I feel so bad for her. She also had her first immunizations as well too, and she wasn’t up to them either. She’s growing and thriving though, and that’s the best we can ask for. She is going to be two months tomorrow, on Daddy’s day. That should ring in good for John, since it’s his first father’s day. I did a lot of reading back, and it looks like someone, forgot who it was, went through my hometown. I used to work at the Little America truck stop, doing inventory for them. Nice to see that you liked it in Flag. Here is the latest snaspshot of Sadie Enjoy

Duff, Very Happy you stopped in!!!! Bring Sadie in with you; after all, you ALL are Family, and Family wants to see, hear and know about their members!!
Thanks for sharing the picture of Sadie.
Very Glad the fires have semi quieted down for now, know it's been a very big concern for all.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Happy Anniversary, Mark and Tina!
I went to the 1:00 PM College World Series game that was played by Arizona State and UC Irvine. I was hoping Arizona would win and they did, so I'm pretty happy. However, I'm also a bit sunburned. The one place where I forgot to put sunscreen was on my knees, so now they are really red. Oh well.
Dan - sounds like you had a busy day!
No rain in sight until at least Monday, so I guess we'll have to keep running the sprinkler system here. We're headed for a high of 90 tomorrow after 91 today. At least Monday and Tuesday look cooler.
The pizza was great CW. I think I'll have a second helping.
Willy
Bob, thanks for putting up the smiley!! It does kind of look like me: short and round.
Dan, today is one of those days that I definitely say "Thank you!!" for bringing in the big, industrial oven!! It has really earned it's fire: I just finished making and baking the very large, very huge MEAT LOVERS'/VEGGIE PIZZA for tonight. Along with every kind of meat on it, also has anchovies and shrimp on it, along with the peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.
To get your pizza tonight, just open up the bottom door on the oven, and take out however many slices you want: it's sliced, and waiting to be eaten. JUST BE SURE THAT YOU USE THE POTHOLDERS, SO NO ONE GETS BURNED!!
Once again, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY WISHES TO MARK AND TINA!!
I hope everyone enjoys it tonight. And, I hope the anniversary couple will be able to celebrate their big day, together!!
//staggers in and sits in front of the AC
Just got done overhauling most of the yard. Added flower beds, two fences, a hedge, numerous plants, a hammock (My own! HAHAHAHA!), new eve troughs and downspouts, two outdoor receptacles and fixtures, low voltage lighting, and last but not least three white pines and an oak tree. I'll have a big jug o' Gatorade then a nap until dinner. Someone kick me when the 'za is done!
Dan
.....With the mention of a rain dance above....we seem to be needing one in this area too. Morning paper states {info from water co.}, this period now is the driest we've experienced in 19 years....!!!
Good morning, everyone! Bob, good to see you back in here!
Joe, thanks for fixing breakfast. Those cinnamon rolls are really good this morning! I had a couple, think that will be enough, along with my cup of coffee.
HAPPY ANNIVERSAY TO MARK AND TINA HEMPHILL!!!!!!!
We will have a special pizza tonight: I've gotten the biggest pan I can find, and will be making a humongous pizza tonight, a very, very, very large MEAT LOVERS' PIZZA WITH THE WORKS ON IT.
Everyone have a terrific, safe and as cool a day as possible.
good morning
juice coffee and lemonade are ready to go.we also have some cinnamon rolls too.it is nice out now but we are in for the triple H's today.please save us some pizza for later.after matts T-ball game we are off to wish our co-worker good luck at his wedding.(might look for some action on the old wabash line)
I'll try my best to get some rain your way too, CW. The chance you have next Tuesday through Wednesday actually looks pretty good, so we'll see what happens.
Lance - stay safe. Hopefully the storms aren't too bad.
My compliments to Dan and Brian for the fish fry tonight. Delish!! (Plus, I get a night off!!)
Willy, while you're at it, think you might be able to "send some rain" down towards Louisville? They say we won't have a chance of rain before Monday. Earlier, on the noon news/weather, they said that by next week, when rain might possibly show up, our area will be over 5 inches below normal, for this time of year. Grass is turning brown in several areas. When I went to the dr. this morning, some idiot was cutting grass, that wasn't much more than dust!! Started my nasal allergies , and I sneezed for ten minutes, after I got into the dr's office.
Hey guys, since you did the fish fry tonight, I'll get out the ice cream freezer and make some more ice cream: we'll have vanilla, chocolate, peach, and butter pecan, right around dusk.
Lance, hope you all stay safe and sound down there!!!!!!
wow the fish is really good tonight.we have a mamma and baby rabbits out back eating in the shade some fresh grass and clover i cut with the mower this morning.i agree with cannonball we could use some rain.just glad our themometer hasnt fainted yet.
Willy2 ; To ease your bordem could you would you send some rain by way of Malfunction Junction ??? Right now , one could fry fish on the pavement . ( not nice here at 4.100 ft. ) The t- mometer just fainted from heat stroke.
Respectfully, Cannonball
